God created all things for HIS pleasure Rev.4:11. I can infer also that all what God created for man are for the Godly pleasure of man, therefore men ought to be thankfully always to God.

hello!Family of God..the meaning of life for me 2.things,as you walk & follow the ways of Christ, you will either move closer to Him/or you will be "drained spitually" evil one's snares get you exhausted, you give up!....become slave to the prince of this world and you will turn away from the very Christ (saviour) whom without Him you could not exist! Let us press on for the highmark 'n remain serve the Lord with gladness.. Nothing else,matters...you couldn't have evolved 'n the first place. When the bible says "Choose this day whom you will serve..." It's not about riches, prestige, cares of this life..Lust,greed.. we must be humble..Mt.11:25,11:29.

True Christians are to overcome ...we overcome the world (to come out of world ITS traditions - come out of pagan Babylon), the god of this world (Satan), and ourselves (sin) by overcoming we gain a deeper meaning of life and our future eternal life
through God all things are possible ...repentance of former sinful life baptism by water then God makes it possible to overcome by GIFT of His Holy Spirit dwelling within us
through prayer and seeking more of Gods precious Holy Spirit we can learn to overcome living and obeying God and following Christ and his examples
on LAST DAY overcomers receive eternal life to be resurrected into Spirit reigning on earth with Christ in Gods Kingdom beginning in the 1000 year millennium

In the Westminster shorter catechism it says Question 1) What is the chief end of man? Answer. Mans chief end is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever. Matthew 10:37-39, John 8:42, 14:1-31 / Matthew 22:37-40, Mark 12:29-31 / Matthew 22:21, Mark 12:17, Luke 20:25 / 2Corinthians 13:14.

---PASTOR_JIM on 12/9/09|
Pastor J, You obviously don't know the definition of "fanatic"
The ones you mentioned were "zealous"
"Fanatics" are unbalanced.
Having a passion for your faith is commendable, fanaticism is a mental problem!
---1st_cliff on 12/8/09|
If you think God enjoys religious fanatics, good luck! 1st_cliff on 12/6/09
THEN TELL US WHICH ONE OF THESE WAS NOT A FANATIC...
JOHN THE BAPTIST
Among these and ALL the Biblical Fanatics, I also look forward to seeing my present day fanatitical Brothers and Sisters like StevenG in Heaven as well.

Steveng, Idealism sounds all well and good, problem is ,it doesn't work!
I've yet to go into a Christian home (even a Pastors) and see bare walls, austere decor, and them with just a coat to wear!
"Worldly answer" maybe, but I live in this world ,what planet do you live on???
You sound totally "unbalanced"
If you think God enjoys religious fanatics, good luck! You need to row with "both" oars in the water!

Well Said StevenG.

---PASTOR_JIM on 12/5/09|
Why do you folks make the meaning of life so difficult.
The bible is clear that our purpose on earth is to bring glory to God.
That's it. Nothing more, nothing less.
Now, the next question is "HOW do you glorify God?" First, DO the two commandments Jesus spoke of. (Remember though that during these end times love has waxed cold even amoung christians) DO an online KJV bible search for "one another," "each other," "encourag," and "comfort" to learn how to glorify God daily.

1st_cliff: "...(buy) stuff to eat, stuff to wear, stuff to decorate...etc
If we don't buy stuff our economy will collapse!"
That is surely a worldly answer. The less a person has, the more he or she can spend their time with the Lord. Having "stuff" only keeps a person from devoting 100% of their time with spiritual matters. Having "stuff" you need a place to keep them, you need to keep them safe, you need to attend to them every day. That's why Jesus told the rich person to sell all he has and give to the poor.
Collapse? Hogwash. If everyone was content to have only a roof over their heads, food on the table, and clothes on our backs what more do we need? It's the want that gets us unto trouble.

TO DETERMINE WHERE WE SPEND ETERNITY!!!
---ed on 12/5/09|
Jody, What's it like living in an empty house?
We go to the mall and but stuff to eat, stuff to wear, stuff to decorate stuff for gifts etc..
If we don't buy stuff our economy will collapse again...but then we wouldn't really need a job!
Odd statement Jody, very odd!
---1st_cliff on 12/5/09|
I suppose that for some people the meaning of life is "stuff". Gather "stuff", get rid of "stuff", get more and new "stuff" and even share "stuff". God created us for a higher purpose however. For His good pleasure, to do His will and join with us in eternity through Christ Jesus. Our sense of value needs to adjust towards God and away from "stuff".:)

The purpose of life to me is salvation. First my salvation (and the assurance thereof). After that comes the salvation of others. So interested in this am I that virtually all my energies are guided in that direction. Once the security of once saved always saved is understood freedom to act takes place, like giveing away chances on automobiles, go to public parks and speak openly, to confront the lost on the streets in a one-on-one situation, giveaway raw money, and to be able to ask God for strength guidance help and general boosting up of you by him without having any doubt that you are going about his business and you have freedom to make mistakes as well as see many many people receive the Lord Jesus Christ.
---mima on 12/3/09|
The meaning of life is to appreciate that this gift of life is a blessing from God and we have to be thankful to HIM always as we use HIS gift. The Lord Jesus Christ taught to pray that HIS will be done here on earth as it is being done in heaven (Matt.6:10, Luke11:2). Please take a peep to what they are doing in heaven (Rev.5:9-14, 7:9-12, 14:3).

ecclesiates12, 13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear(Honour respect revere) God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Which ties in with Matthew22,37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.and John4,23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

The meaning of life is but only one thing and that is to have the opportunity to become a son of God.This is the greatest meaning to the life we live.We are given a temporary form so that we may decide to enter into infinite sonship with the Creator and all children whom have already become sons.
---earl on 12/2/09|
Thank you MarkV. Coming from you the compliment has both meaning and value. It is appreciated, and as always, giving all praises to the Father.

first you have to know what life is.Its not this 75 year long average existance.Scripture tells us that without God we are dead, even though we breath,so wheres our life?what really gives our lives meaning?what really is life?better yet what really is meaning?very little in this life is important, whats important is what we believe, and how we live, and who we believe in,GOD,HIS SON,LOVE,at the judgement God will show and tell all who have ever lived what was meaningful, its called the great white throne judgement.
---tom2 on 12/1/09|
The meaning of life is to love and fellowship with God. First love God and our neighbor which is all others as ourself, Mark 12:33 And to love him with all the heart, with all the understanding, with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself,-. When we do unto others as we would have them do unto us we spread God's love. If all Christians would look at their lives as a gift from God and be thankful then they could look at it as a gift of love to pass on to everyone we come in contact with. Love is an action word and it also is seed to plant for a harvest in due time. The fruit of the spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness and faith. Love builds upon love, you get what you give.

God knows the real meaning better than we can know > so . . . submit to God, so He has us become how He wants us, for all He knows is His meaning. I understand > before creation, our Father and Jesus had such a beautifully wonderful relationship of love together. Our Father was so pleased with His Son, Jesus, that He could not "eat just one peanut" > He had to have more like Jesus. So . . . through and in relation to Christ, God made this universe as His place to have and bring up children to become how Jesus is > Galatians 4:19, 1 John 4:17 > this is basic to fulfilling all that God means by His word > Isaiah 55:11 > which *shall* come to pass, what *God* means.

Rachael: The "meaning of life" isn't found in the puffed up (proud) opinions of men. It's found in the word of God (Scripture/the Bible).

---mima on 11/29/09|
Hello, By meaning, you mean purpose? If so I believe that your question only has an individual answer. Only you can say what your purpose is. Some choose to serve God as a purpose in life and some find work is their purpose. Some go through life without meaning, they only live day by day relying on fate (not faith).
If your are asking, why we were created? Then only God knows that answer, which is ok because he is the master and somethings is not for us to know.
---Buzz on 11/29/09|
meaning of life,or why do I exist. As I mentioned it depends on what you believe. For a non believer life really has no meaning beyond the physical, sorta a go for the gusto life, alternately a beliver in jesus lives for God,obeys God,so one life as no meaning, your just a biological result.

"...LOVE the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind...LOVE your neighbor as yourself..." Matt. 22:37-39
"Jesus said...I am the way, truth, & the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me." Jn. 14:6
"...lets LOVE one another. LOVE is of God & all who LOVE is born of...God. He who doesn't LOVE knows not God because God is LOVE. God showed his LOVE toward us by sending his...Son into the world so we might LOVE thru him...not that we loved God, but he loved us & sent his Son to be the sacrifice (offering) for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we should LOVE one another..." 1 Jn. 4:7-11

Rachel, Life is a Divinely inspired opportunity for man to come to know the Father of Life, and the Son whom He has sent. To stand as witness to the fact that the Father's ways and principles for life are true, just and best suited for life. That man may observe, recognized, and acknowledge the fact that he has been privileged to experience a comprehensive insight into the Father's method of operating, and the fate of those who would oppose it. Man is given to receive of His direct divine inspiration, and to rest in His love and presence, that we may come to interpret life as He does, and to know the joy of life in His Son. A life so graciously given for His pleasure and our benefit, as Children of the Most High.

rachael,it really is whether you are a believer or not.A believer knows that life is a journey,a decision to submitt to God through obidience thru jesus, that it is a battle,a daily test,a process.for the non believer its just a biological result,or propriation of the species and has no real meaning other than we are born, live, and die.Now the meaning for us usually is only understood usually after we live awhile and truly understand God better,Summed up the meaining is best described as follows, love God with all your heart mind and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself, then love some more.
