LUKE24v36 While they were talking about what had happened, Jesus stood among them. He said to them, "Peace be with you!" 37 They were terrified, and thought they were seeing a GHOST. 38 He asked them, "Why are you afraid? Why do you have doubts? 39 Look at my hands and feet, and see that it's really me. Touch me, and see for yourselves. GHOSTS DON'T HAVE FLESH AND BONES, but you can see that I do." 40 As he said this, he showed them his hands and feet.JESUS ACTUALLY DESCRIBES WHAT A GHOST IS LIKE.

Cluny, my pleasure, here is another deposit into your account, which you may withdraw only after you become saved: "Repent, and get saved, and then you will really be blessed."

Every time you say something about me, Eloy, all you do is m make a big deposit into my heavenly bank account.

In charity, I beg you: Please do not bankrupt yourself!

Do you believe that your "soul" is a living entity capable of living outside your body? Isn't that a ghost? Isn't that what spiritualists believe?
---jerry6593 on 3/23/10

God sent evil spirits to the living.

Angels are spirit (beings).

Satan and his followers, being angels, are spirit (beings).

Familiar spirits are "ghosts" of loved ones which are apparitions created by evil spirits to make you believe in a lie.

To learn more about "ghosts" from the Word of God, do an online KJV bible search for the key words "ghost" and "spirits." It's a healthy especially reading when reading in context.

\\Cluny, you blaspheme and speak falsehood\\

Thank you, Eloy.

Yet again you've blessed me!

Keep up the good work.
---Cluny on 3/22/10

Cluny, you blaspheme and speak falsehood: "Then will the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit will return up to God who gave it. Also when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into your hands I commit my Spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost." Ecclesiastes 12:7+ Luke 23:46

Jhn 14:26a But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name
Jhn 15:26a But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father
Rom 8:9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his
2Cor 3:17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord [is], there [is] liberty.
--Who's Spirit? Who sent Him?
1Cor 12:4-6 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

\\Christians believe in the one Almighty Holy Ghost which is the ghost from Jesus, but Christians do not believe in any ghosts from the dead\\

Note the Eloy spouts the heresy of filioquism here.

Jesus clearly said that the Holy Spirit/Ghost proceeds from the Father.

"spectral essences of the nephil" ....

"their Souls are caught in a loop of their limited perception. Some Souls are anchored to places, often their environments in life, and perpetually relive their limited lives."

Wow! I've read the Bible through many times, and have never seen such concepts. Could you please provide the scriptures? All I can find is stuff like:

Ecc 9:5 For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing,

Psa 146:4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth, in that very day his thoughts perish.
---jerry6593 on 3/20/10

If a Soul doesn't have a Heaven to depart to, where does it go? It goes into the mau of a place described as Hell. Hell is "torment", and for such individuals dead to the Spirit of life, their Souls are caught in a loop of their limited perception. Some Souls are anchored to places, often their environments in life, and perpetually relive their limited lives. This a torment of grief, and isolation, and non-consequential existence. These lost Souls, in eternal chaos and exclusion, are caught in the Hell of not being able to effect or have interaction with anything. Ghosts and apparitions exhibit physical consistencies which place them, as a whole, beyond mere imagination.
---Elaine on 3/20/10

Actually, the Holy Ghost isn't a ghost at all. He is the One, as Holy and powerful as Jesus himself, that was promised to come after Christ ascended into heaven following His Resurrection. The Holy Ghost, or Holy Spirit, doesn't speak about Himself, but turns everyone to Jesus for salvation.
---Donna66 on 3/19/10

Christians believe in the one Almighty Holy Ghost which is the ghost from Jesus, but Christians do not believe in any ghosts from the dead. The Bible reads that when a person dies their ghost expires back to God who gave it, their ghost does not not stay behind haunting around on the earth after leaving their corpse.
---Eloy on 3/19/10

"Should Christians believe in ghosts?" As a disembodied soul of a human, No.
The only apparitions that appear as what is commonly thought of as "ghost" are the spectral essences of the nephil, whose bodies were destroyed in the flood. Commonly referred to as "demons".

Most Christians believe in the Holy Ghost. Some believe in spirit demons. But what about the belief that ALL dead people continue to survive as ghosts, spirits, non-corporeal souls, or whatever, whether here on earth, in heaven or in a burning hell? Do you believe in such ghosts?

\\Cabeesh? That means, "understand?" in Italian.
---Donna on 3/17/10\\

Actually, the word is spelled "capisce", though frequently in Italian the final vowel is not pronounced.

Is it really necessary to believe in them?
---Cluny on 3/16/10

Cluny, I know you believe in the Holy Ghost, why wouldn't you? (just curious)

or are you referring to the part of my reply about demons?

If we choose to ignore "THEM" as you put it, they just don't go away and Jesus would have never said, "Behold, I've give you authority to trample upon serpents and scorpions and over all the POWER of the enemy, so that nothing shall injure you."

OR We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against spirits and principalities. Those spirits Paul is referring to are evil spirits known as demons. Cabeesh? That means, "understand?" in Italian.

Those who speak with the dead are called witches by the Bible. It is demons who impersonate the dead who people are talking to. We should speak to GOD and read His word for answers. Not follow Saul to seek witches and the dead.
---Samuel on 3/16/10

Not quite like the little boy in the movie The Sixth Sense, but I see dead people, "walking around like regular people all the time." They're spirits (ghosts) that are dead & don't know it. Some can be reasoned with & helped to face their lost condition. Others, vehemently don't want help & are content to stay in their limbo-like predicament. The world is full of ghost (spiritually dead people).

I wholeheartedly agree with Elder & Donna's comments.
---Leon on 3/16/10

People can lie about seeing ghosts. If I was a dead person come back, why would I stay in some one place? If *you* came back from the dead, and had no physical body to limit you, would *you* stay just in some attic or old house?

A person without God can have the personality he or she got from a devil who has been with that person. Then, when the person dies and is gone (see Hebrews 9:27), the devil who really has that personality can pretend to be that dead person, and also can *reincarnate* the demon's personality in future humans so people think some person has come back.
---Bill_bila5659 on 3/16/10

I agree with Elder and Donna, only the Holy Ghost. The Spirit of Life goes back to God,who gave it,upon our death. The only way we live on this planet is through the Spirit of Life and with it gone we don't have a voice to speak to mortals and so called ghosts are claimed to do that. God's Word says not to try to contact or talk to the dead,Deuteronomy 18:10,11 these are things not to do,divination, observer of times, enchanter, witch, charmer, consultar of familar spirits, wizard,or necromancer(conjuration expression or trick used to conjure the spirits of the dead for purposes of magicaly revealing the future or influencing the course of events). You can see God equates all those Occult practices together and forbids them to his people.

Just Kidding of course.

We should believe in the Holy Ghost. We should also be aware that there are demonic ghosts called demons.
---Donna on 3/16/10

Yes, The Holy Ghost. But, too many believe in a fantasy spiritual life. This is proven by some of the encounters that are posted here if you have not been exposed to the foolishness elsewhere.
