I just read your answer Glenn, And THAT Is exactly what I would do, "I would become a Christian" I would rather do that than be an Atheist which I would be if Christ Hadn't risen.
---Jim on 5/17/10|
if I were not a Born Again Follower of Jesus Christ, I would be an Atheist, The Lord's Resurrection sealed the truth of His claimes and the Inspiration and Authority of the Bible, making every other religion false. By the way, a denomination is part of a division of a religion, there are Denominations in both the Protestant and Catholic Religions, as well as off shoots of those. Many things that the atheist blame religion for are accurate, so I would not follow them

If I was not a Christian, I'm not sure I could choose any other religion. I sat under Buddhist teachings for a short while.
It offered me nothing. And the "master" kept wanting "gifts" (obviously preferring the expensive ones). Christian preachers are not unique in seeking money.
Other religions seem to consist mostly of following rules and rituals out of fear. I can't get my mind and heart around a god that demands such (to me) meaningless activities.
Christianity is the only one in which God himself came to earth as a man and asks nothing from people but love. He forgives even when we do not deserve it because He has taken on Himself, the penalty for our disobedience. He gives perfect peace.

If I was not a Christian there would be no other religion to pick. It would be pointless.Religion is simply someone's interpretation of scripture, and what I have seen in life is that scripture is just as individual in interpretation as it is in understanding. I have read the Bible many times over, and each time I read God's Word it has meant something different, depending on what context you read it,( i.e.what you are going through at the time, how spiritually mature you are, who you are sharing the Word with). The Words stay the same, but their meaning becomes more focused when it pertains to a certain aspect in one's life. That's one of the wonders of God's Divine Word, it remains unchanged, yet is able to transform in the mind of the reader.

OK well lets see what does the BIBLE say:
Acts 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
So here we have it. God adds to THE CHURCH those who will be saved.
So why avoid the church? God adds to the church those who will be saved, so why stay out?
Unless one cannot figure out which of the 2000 denominations represnt the church.
---francis on 5/12/10|
hard to say.I follow God & his son Jesus Christ though, not a church & not church doctrine, but the bible is my guidebook. For fellowship I meet with ltos of people also believing in God throughout the week whether online, at the park, or at the store. We are the church. If I had to pick an altrnitive it would be more nature bound earth based, but still worshiping God & his son, so you see they are in everything ,as long as you donot worship anything else above God.

Yes, we have a good reason to object to the placing of Christianitiy with all other religions, but in reality we can connect the two- the Bible does, after all, though the description in James ais a bit odd
Do not reject the idea of religion

It is not God I mock, but you refuse to see or hear anybody except your own fertile imagination.

None and true Christianity is not religion its relationship.
---larry on 5/10/10|
I am not sure why people keep saying that christianity is not a religion.
Christianity is very much a religion.
beliefs and worship: people's beliefs and opinions concerning the existence, nature, and worship of a deity or deities, and divine involvement in the universe and human life
system: an institutionalized or personal system of beliefs and practices relating to the divine
personal beliefs or values: a set of strongly-held beliefs, values, and attitudes that somebody lives by
does this not include christianity?
---francis on 5/10/10|
If some of these people want to pick, I guess I can pick too....So, pick away. But, I wouldn't mock God, because He talks real good. Better than anyone. HA, HA. Put-up your duke, atan.
---catherine on 5/10/10|
Catherine, did God tell you not to read the question as it is written? Susan did not say, "If you were not in the Christian religion which religion..." She IMPLIED that if you were not a Christian person...
However, Any activity in the Bible followed by more than one person makes it systematic. A few Christians have chosen a religious system based on the One True God, most have not.

REMEMBER - James, in his letter describes reigion as what we should DO - but it is the only time in the Bible where that word appears (James 1:27)

Rob+++you hit it right on the nail.

AMEN Catherine. Too many people call Christianity a "RELIGION" when it's not.
Being a Christian is having a Personal and Intimate Relationship with God through Christ.
---Rob on 5/9/10|
First, this world and its people should stop placing Christianity among all the other religions. In the second place, Christianity is not religion. We worship and obey the one, true, God, that's it. I hope that I would not pick a pagan religion. But, who knows!

It would have to be any form of Satanism that suits me whether it be via eastern mysticism, polytheism, humanism, communism, federalism, atheism, man made doctrinaire, false "witnessism",legalism etc. The list is very extensive.

If I weren't a Christian, I'd become a Christian. An alternative answer:
Roses are reddish, violets are bluish, if it wasn't for Jesus we'd all be Jewish.

The worlds favorite relig is the rcc & Not God inspired. Because of it's idol worship, Man-made teachings of once saved always saved, no works salvation, the sinners prayer, it's delicacies, worldly pleasures, worldly sports activities etc & this takes peoples minds Off & away from God, just like the devil wants. 2nd.Cor.11 v's 14-15.

i would say outside of christianity,
I like Islam: Submission to God: people who live by the dictates of thier faith. None of the violence, but all of the practice. It is very close to Judism.

I think if I had a choice, i would choose Taoism. Yin and Yang
The word Tao literally translated as path or way of life.
Taoist propriety and ethics emphasize the Three Jewels of the Tao: compassion, moderation, and humility, while Taoist thought generally focuses on nature, the relationship between humanity and the cosmos health and longevity,

Catherine said," I'll tell you my feelings on this, folks: It is better to have no religion, than to have a false religion.....Because God hates adolatry and adolaters!"
I agree with that statement and here's why, having witnessed to many people I have found those who are not into religion, worshiping of images and such to be the most ready to believe and receive the Lord Jesus Christ!!!
---mima on 4/1/10|
Amen, Gabby. For some reason people just don't get it!
Week after week you will find buildings filled with Religous People, but they do not have a Personal and Intimate Relationship with God through Christ and Christ Alone, John 14:6 and Galatians 2:20-21.

Christianity is not a Religion
It's a Reality
God doesn't want Religion,He wants a Relationship

True Christianity is NOT a religion.
---John on 3/30/10|
The God of Christianity is everywhere and involved in all things and
*personal*. So He sent His own Son as a *Person* who represented our Father, by getting personally involved with people, here on earth, and involved in our problems, suffering, and death, since God is involved in everything. So, the God of Christianity is even a *logical* match with the God of the Bible, I can see. No religion of this world represents God to be so personal with His kiddos. But the Bible says God knows my heart. So, if I was not a Christian, I guess I would be wise to *offer* myself to God, for Him to judge if I was being honest and humble in seeking for Him to make me become a Christian.
---Bill_bila5659 on 3/29/10|

it wouldn,t make any difference which one, cause it would still be a lie, without life.

How do you know that your religion is not 'false' and you are not in a whole lot of trouble with the other 'one true god'.

Knowing what I know now I would pick none, nada, sip, zero. You see, I served religion before I was Saved. It was a religion of self and self-gradifaction. Many, like the so called, Atheists serve this religion. I repented of religion and now serve within Christianity.
Religion is worship of something. Christianity is worship of Christ.
Religion is like a beauty queen when she dies she can't take her Tara to Hell with her. In Christianity you can send your Crown on before you go.
