Funny you should say that, this every morning.
I was telling someone about a story in Numbers 22.

Let me ask "you" something, have you ever heard me say "God bless you?"

You think about it!
if you get an answer, then it's probably right!
---TheSeg on 4/24/10

God's love is different: Because, You can see in the depth of our motives and reasonings. This too, enanbles You to love the unlovly. Hallelujah..... We can never understand God. He did not create our minds BIG enough. This mysterious God. Don't you just love Him. I think He does it on purpose. Just when you think-that you have things figured out. God says, "you don't". Haa.
---catherine on 4/24/10

Mark, if I have said "God bless you" to you!
Do you really think there is anything, you can say to me.
That can change that or that there is any power on this earth that can!
God has blessed you!
So, do I.
---TheSeg on 4/24/10

Seg, I meant not "so what" but its' great" that is what I meant or trying to convey. I don't want you to take my answer wrong. And I said you were nuts only because you said, it was only humor. Nothing more. peace
---MarkV. on 4/23/10

Seg, you are right, you are nuts, I agree with you. Could not make out what the point was. Your imagination does runs wild. If it gives you comfort so what? If it gives you safety so what? If it encourages you so what?
I suppose the ladder is a stairway rather then a ladder. That is my opinion, and that it was a graphic portrayal of the heavenly Lord's personal involvement in the affairs of earth. "The dream encouraged the lonely traveler.
---MarkV. on 4/23/10

I just dont stop! Sorry!
In Gen 28:12
And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.

Isnt a ladder just a few steps? A little like math, right!
Like, if something is true, then other things must be true!

Say I know nothing. But, I believe Christ!
No me, no life! Youve never lived! Sorry!

Now back to:
The Bible speaks of salvation in many senses, and many tenses, terms of the past, present and future!
You have no past, present and future!

Even if you believe him! There no future!
There no tomorrow!

Its another day, a new day!
Nuts right!
---TheSeg on 4/22/10

Seg, no, you are not spinning your wheels. You are correct. We have life through Christ. When I first heard the passage, "I am the way, the truth and the life"
That passage touches so many things in Scripture when we study the Word. The way to life is through Christ, the truth we want to learn is Christ, and the life we want and need can only be found in Christ.
Praise God we are in agreement, peace brother
---MarkV. on 4/22/10

That just the way I am now, sorry!
Would you say anyone who has not Christ has life?

You, me, everyone would have to say no, right!
We think because we have live here, we have life. When Christ said I am life!
So, I dont see how we have life here! If you have not Christ, you have not life!

Is this not true or am I just spinning my wheels here?
Or can you have life without Christ?
---TheSeg on 4/21/10

Seg, I have no clue how what you just posted has to do with what we were talking about. But what you said about what you saw I could never dispute. God comes to an individual and we respond to Him because of that love He shows for us first. We do love Him because He first loved us. We could be at the worst of our times while lost and He reaches down and awakes us from that spiritual death we were in with His love. And suddenly we see Him in all His glory. People here do not believe this events take place. They believe while lost they make Him appear before them with their power. One reason why I believe more then half of the people, have not had the real authentic experience of salvation.
---MarkV. on 4/21/10

Now I dont think Im nut!
Nor do I think Im dead!
Im just saying what I felt that day was, so much more then. What I feel now.
And dont think for one moment. I just stopped and pick up a bible. No!
However there is more! A man can only get kick in the head so much.
Before he says, what the hell is going on?
This is why I say, I didnt pick him.
I am the same man I was. No change outwardly. But, I no longer say, I believe in God!
I say, I believe God! If no not if! He said I came here to save sinner!
Well I put it to you and I leave it with you!
---TheSeg on 4/20/10

Someone asked Jesus, let me go and bury my father.
Lord told him let the dead bury the dead!
In a another place he said
The words I give you, they are spirit they are life.

Makes me think, can someone who has never lived.
Have a past, present or future. Are we alive now?
Sometime ago, I saw and felt something.
Wow ok. Why am I going here?
How about I say, I saw, what I saw and I felt.
Wow!
Mark I felt a love, I can never forget! But, the thing is, I saw it too!
The form I saw was 7 spirits with white lit candles, each with one.
Mark all seven where calling out. Saying come!
Im just a sinner!
---TheSeg on 4/20/10

Seg, I just wanted to clear something up concerning salvation because you said,
"MarkV, I did answer you!
No one! There are no names!
No one was save yesterday!
Or Today! That just my point!"

The Bible speaks of salvation in many senses, and many tenses, terms of the past, present and future.
To be delivered from the wrath of God is future
To have being saved from the foundation of the world is past.
To, we are being saved by being sanctified or made holy by the Holy Spirit- is present.
Sometimes we equate present salvation in terms of our justification, which is present, and future.
---MarkV. on 4/20/10

MarkV, I did answer you!
No one! There are no names!
No one was save yesterday!
Or Today! That just my point!
Maybe some will start believing!
God Bless You Mark!
With all my heart, God Bless You!
---TheSeg on 4/20/10

Seg, I see you didn't give any names of those God saved yesterday. My point, that we know the gospel of Jesus Christ but that it is impossible for any of us to know what tomorrow will bring, but God does know. It is as simple as that. blessings
---MarkV. on 4/20/10

I understand what you guys are saying. I really do!
If you say you cant, you cant!

Look at MarkV! Saying all I want to do is argue.
Im not arguing with you or anyone!
Im telling you a (man is sitting!) on his right side!
Now, youre asking what would seem impossible questions to answer.

Everyone is saying I believe, I believe. But, believe what?
When you ask them, this is where there are some major differences.
Major differences are stumbling block! There are no differences in God!

MarkV, Im not here to answer you or anyone! Next time ask God.
No one! Everyone was saved by Christ!
So, pick any names! Why dont you try to understand!

Isa 48 and 49
With understanding!
---TheSeg on 4/20/10

Seg, whats all that you wrote have to do with believers knowing the things God is thinking about? Nothing whatsoever. You just want to argue you know all the things God knows or is thinking about, Ok, lets say that you do. Can you tell us what are the names of the people who God is saving today? God knows their names, you should know them too?
All the writings and passages you give do not in any way confirm what you said.
In the case of what I wrote you, I spoke in a broad sense, I didn't know you wanted the exact words from Scripture, even if I gave them to you, they would not do you any good.

Glen, that was very true what you said brother, getting to know Him is what the whole matter of faith is. His attributes, character, His nature. The Bible is all about Him and for Him. For His glory. You are very correct brother.
---MarkV. on 4/19/10

We with a finite mind can not understand everything, but we can learn of his nature, and learn to submit to his will. We do this by spending time with him, reading his word, and by being a faithful servant.

Hi Elder
Let me start with, God Bless You.
So, in your mind you believe, if you knew Dr. Oz all your life. You would know him?
I grew up with brothers all my life, side by side, still can say I know them.
Why?
Because they are ever-changing! Just like your friend, Dr. Oz.

Perverted scripture! Very strong words!
But it seems to me The Holy Bible, cannot be perverted, only man interpretation of it.

What so funny to me. Is God in the OT said I am going to save you.
The lord comes tell you, I came here to save the sinners.
I am the fulfillment of that. Now you all run around saying all kind of thing!
Im the perverted one!

Rom 1:20a... For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen... 20c...so they are without excuse..
This is speaking to those who would say they had no way to know God. Paul stated that nature shows God. It is NOT saying that we could know all we needed to know about God from nature.
These were people not Saved. They knew God in the sense that I know Dr. Oz. He offers good advice about health to me but he doesn't know me personally. That is because I have never became his "friend."
People who get mislead like this do so by reading perverted scripture. It is perverted by the enemy.
---Elder on 4/16/10

Romans 1 tells us that people know enough about God because of creation (stop)
Because of creation! Not because God spoke! (In fact gave you his word?)

They know about God but do not honor Him as God.
Here you say "about" Is this what it says "about"

Who is this talking about?
Because that, when they knew God!
They glorified him not as God!
Neither were thankful!
But became vain in their imaginations,
and their foolish heart was darkened.

Look like its the ones that know God!
So, they know God! But dont want to believe or wont let (themselves) believe what he did!
There by: they are without excuse!
Because they know!

ps. Psa 1:5

Seq- Sorry, but you will have to explain yourself better before I can understand. Perhaps I'm just Biblically ignorant, but no matter how I read the passage you have quoted, I cannot make the words say what you tell us they say.

I can't follow all your sentence fragments.
Are you trying to write in free verse?

They do not clarify anything.
They complicate and mystify scriptures that are commonly understood to mean something quite different from what you say.
---Donna66 on 4/15/10

Seg, I never said what you quoted I said,

"Youre telling me, no one can know the truth!
Im telling you, you know the truth!
Not some, but all!
But, you fight me in unbelief."

Jesus Christ is the Truth, to know the Truth is to know Christ. But to have the mind and thoughts of Christ no one has. When we were lost we did not know the Truth, Christ. We were lost, had no relationship with Him. Romans 1 tells us that people know enough about God because of creation that they are without excuse. They know about God but do not honor Him as God. Knowing Him condems them for not honoring Him as God. It by no means people know what He is going to do today, tomorrow, and what His next move is.
Be real.

Youre telling me, no one can know the truth!
Im telling you, you know the truth!
Not some, but all!
But, you fight me in unbelief.

Not me, I add nothing!
God! Added! You hold the truth in unrighteousness!
Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness,
This is what he is saying!

The bible is not about men! Its about God!
What he said he would do!
And what he did!
And what he is going to do!

Funny thing is mark.
You know this!
Ive even heard you defend it!
So you know its not in your hands.
I believe you understand, it about God!
God Bless!

Seq -- I've never heard, from anybody, your interpetation of Romans 1:19-20
Roman 1,19 is a conuation Rom 1:18

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness,

Paul is speaking about UNRIGHTEOUS men.

Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them, for God hath shewed it unto them.

Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse:
.

Even an unbeliever, observing the natural world, has plenty of reason to believe in the Creator.
---Donna66 on 4/15/10

Seg, so you are saying that you do know? or what is your point? Looks to me that you are saying we should know as believers all the things of God. If that is not what you are saying speak up but not in parables. Just say, I meant this, and say what you meant. If you are saying you do not know all the things of God then I said. What you do is write a lot of stuff, hoping we can catch everything you are saying with a meaning without having to really hear what you real meaning is.

As of yesterday, today and tomorrow!
Nothing has change!

What He is doing in another part of the world!
This is just dumb!

No one knows the day or the hour
Watch therefore!
For ye know not what hour your Lord doth come!

But know this!
That if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come.
He would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.

No idea how many will be saved.
Behold, I make all things new.
Write: for these words are true and faithful!

You have no idea when God will do away with sin altogether
You make me laugh!

He gives us the knowledge!
No! He gave you life!

Seg, again you are wrong. You can find passages that seem to imply we do have the mind of God to know what He is going to do today, tomorrow, and what He is doing in another part of the world but you are mistaken. Your mistake is your interpretation of the passages you give. No one knows the day or the hour when Christ is coming but the Father. You don't, I don't. You have no idea how many will be saved or how many will be lost. You have no idea when God will do away with sin altogether, what day or hour. He knows all that. To assume we know what He is thinking and what He is going to do is rediculous. He gives us the knowledge to know enough to get us through life as believers. All necessary spiritual gifts are provide for us to get through.

There is a way to believe, which is the truth, the way and the life!
You may want to think.

But, if I honor myself my honor is nothing!

Larry, brother you gave another great answer concerning God. Thanks brother
---MarkV. on 4/13/10

No. Plain and simple no.

God is not understood he is revealed.
---larry on 4/13/10

The Word of God says WE have the mind of Christ. You say that I said that. I am only saying what the Word says. Your disagreement is with the Word, not with me. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I have never been without warning, instruction, wisdom, or the will of God in any situation or direction. If you believe you have, then maybe believing what the Word says would be of benefit to you. You will never walk in any aspect of the Word you do not believe. Walking with God requires agreement.

When I was a child, I had a clock.
I wanted to know how to work.
So I open it up and look inside.
I clearly saw how it works, why it works, even the need for it.
But never once did I think, I could stand in front of it.
Not look at it, and know what time it is. You could take guesses.
But, to know exactly what time it is. You do have to look at the two hands!
And to know the seconds, you have to look at that little arrow spinning around.
You know even if you ask someone, it may not be the right time.
It never ceases to amaze me! How a gentle breeze, can become a storm!

Elaine---Good point.

Linda-- John 15:15
..but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

If you believe this applies to all believers all the time...
Can you answer the questions God asked Job?

(Job 38:32-35) Can you ensure the proper sequence of the seasons or guide the constellation of the Bear with her cubs across the heavens?
Do you know the laws of the universe and how God rules the earth?
"Can you shout to the clouds and make it rain?
Can you make lightning appear and cause it to strike as you direct it?

No. Perhaps, instead, the HS and The Word tell us just what we NEED to know when we NEED to know it?
---Donna66 on 4/11/10

For crying out loud! a person saying such thing about Jesus having sin? is missing knowing the Holy Bible where it clearly says: (in my own words) He was pure as snow, in addition, I don't believe God would send his son with sin when He came to wash ours from our lives, hearts and minds.
To imply our Lord was drunken is a blasfemy! get a grip and respect our Savior!
---Arcilee on 4/12/10

Linda, your last statement I totally agree, because you did not mention that we had the mind of Christ to know all things. No one knows all that is in the mind of Christ? We know the will of God for our lives because of the Spirit guiding us to all Truth that we will need for our lives but in no way do we have His mind to all what is going to happen tomorrow, the next day and so on. When and how He will do away with sin, at what time, or who will come to Christ. You have taken your theory to a very extreme. There is a difference when we know what He wants for our lives, and what He is thinking and doing. The Spirit is continually changings our way of life to the image of God but its an on going process called sanctification.
---MarkV. on 4/12/10

Jesus. raised. from. the. dead. is. God's. will. for. man. When He was raised, was He in sin? In sickness? Addicted to anything? An old creation? No, He wasn't. Did He have a problem knowing God's will or way? No. His very Spirit dwells in us and reveals to us God's will for us in every matter. As a matter of fact, does a dead man have a problem with sin? No, because he's dead. His (Jesus') death as ours takes care of the problem with sin. His rising from the dead gives us His life. The same Spirit that raised Him from the dead quickens the MORTAL body. God's will or way is not difficult. A child can understand is.

Why do you think He offers us an eternity of Consciousness? Because He wants us to get to know Him. Anything less than forever isn't enough time...
---Elaine on 4/11/10

Linda, before you hit enter, did you read what you were writing? Here is what you said,
" Jesus raised from the dead and seated at the right hand of the Father is God's mind and anything that does not agree with that is inconsistent with God Himself."

What in all creation are you talking about? Do you even know yourself? "seated at the right hand of the Father is God's mind" and then you said, and anything that does not agree with that is inconsistent with God Himself. What is inconsistent with God Himself? Why don't you put passages this way we can read what the Word of God has to say, because what you say does not make sense.
---MarkV. on 4/11/10

God is always consistent with His nature and never changes. His "do" is His "will and testament". Even in the OT, there was a tribe that knew the times and we have a greater covenant built on greater promises. If the Holy Spirit guards from deception and guides into all truth, and Jesus (who is God in the flesh) is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, then I would say your exposition is faulty. The Lord Jesus Christ knows the Father and WE have the mind of Christ. Jesus raised from the dead and seated at the right hand of the Father is God's mind and anything that does not agree with that is inconsistent with God Himself.
---Linda on 4/11/10

Seg -- I don't disagree. But I still don't expect to have complete foreknowledge. I may be certain God will answer my prayer and not know HOW or WHEN.

The Holy Spirit will guide me when I need guidance. Jhn 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself, but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

And He will show me things to come...Certainly, but it does not say all things to come. (I do not have the gift of prophesy)

There are some things I accept by faith and am content not to see or understand fully.
A lot of things are God's business, not mine.

Linda, that was a nice trick you did there with 1 John 2:19-20, you wanted to make it sound like those passages teach that a person knows what God is thinking, doing and what He is going to do in the future. Nice try but you are wrong.
The anointing from the Holy One is the Holy Spirit (v. 27) which is given to every believer to teach them and guide them unto all Truth. The Holy Spirit guards them from error (Acts 10:38, 2 Cor. 1:21). Christ as the Holy One imparts the Holy Spirit as their illuminating guardian from deception. Second the Holy Spirit guides the believer into knowing "all things." (John 14:26, 16:13). All things is not that they will know what God is going to do at any given time. All things of what is Truth.
---MarkV. on 4/11/10

1John 2:19-21
They went out from us, but they were not of us, for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.

John 15:15
Henceforth I call you not servants, for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

Linda,
it is amazing to me that people will say, "You never know what God is gonna do" when He has filled a book with His will and His ways and is the only One who is faithful and fully consistent with His nature.

Does that mean you always know what God is going to do? Having "the mind of Christ" doesn't mean knowing everything that Christ knows. No matter how much HE put in HIS WORD... no matter how consistant HE is...we are not wise enough to second quess Him or even to understand most of His acts on earth. He knows the past, the present, the future, and the heart of every man. We are totally dependent on Him.
---Donna66 on 4/10/10

For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct Him? But WE have the mind of Christ. I believe the mind of Christ understands God. We have it. We just haven't fully tapped into it. It is amazing to me that people will say, "You never know what God is gonna do" when He has filled a book with His will and His ways and is the only One who is faithful and fully consistent with His nature. We will put more faith in an inconsistent man than a faithful and consistent God and Father.

I dont believe no one can! Its you dont want to.
Does not your own heart tell you?
O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.
But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Why is it by thy words?

Donna, I also like your answer very much. For it puts the main basic reason why we cannot fully understand the full will of God and what is in His mind. He reveals things to us through the Spirit. The carnal mind cannot understand the things of the Spirit of God. They can read the Bible over and over, but without the Spirit we will never understand the real Truth.
A good passage that I always share is,
" All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one know the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him"
---MarkV. on 4/8/10

Joseph, again you gave a great answer my brother. We can never understand fully the mind of God. The human mind through the years builds up theological bias which stops or holds back the person from growing in the knowledge of Christ.
If they have been raised their entire life to believe that such and such a passage teaches a certain thing, they wind up defending that because it's an out-front position. If they spend enough time defending it, they are not about to give it away.
The second thing that stops people from knowing God, is their lack of careful study. They are not diligent enough. Other times what stops them is they don't have conclusive information. It's all human failure.
---MarkV. on 4/7/10

The carnal mind cannot understand the things of the Spirit of God because they are spiritually appraised.

The mind remains carnal unless it is renewed by the Word of God, so no, the human mind cannot FULLY understand God.

It is the Spirit who gives life, the flesh profits nothing.

We understand in part and know in part (Corinthians). We can only "see" things that the Spirit of God reveals to us-truth is revealed, not taught. Knowledge is taught.

Flesh and blood has not revealed this to you Simon Barjona, but my father who is in heaven.

Depends on what you mean by "understand."

There's a use of "understanding" in connection with Baptism and such that among some Christians, is actually gnostic.

Are we not supposed to grow in our understanding? Seems that St Paul criticized one church a letter for their remaining "children in understanding". Doubtless some of them were boasting of their spiritual immaturity, thinking it was a child-like faith.

Because the Bible does not record everything about God. Everything which Jesus did and said was not recorded. Plus, our minds are small. But, you can know Him, well. If you don't know Jesus, you do not know God, and if you do not God you cannot know Jesus, for they are the one and the same, my friends.

"Can the human mind fully understand God?" No. For now we only see Him as in a mirror, dimly, as a reflection, but eventually face to face. Now we know in part, but then we shall know, just as we also are known.
"Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become His counselor?" Yet, by His grace, the Spirit of truth has come. He guides us into all truth, He glorifies Jesus, and takes of what is His and declares it to us. No one has known the mind of the Lord, but, we have been given the mind of Christ, Via His Spirit. Refs. Rom 11:33,34>Jhn 16:13,14>1Cr 2:16

I don't believe a human being can fully understand God. However, I believe God through his Holy Spirit gives our spirit understanding as he wills.

God absolutely wants us to KNOW Him. In John 17, Jesus also states to KNOW HIM. BUT what is it God wants us to know NOW? The ONLY way one can KNOW God is through His Son Jesus Christ.

Jeremiah 9:23-24
23Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches:

24But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.

NO. If humans could understand God, He would no longer be God. We would be His equal (as Satan desires to be).

I believe if we fully understood all things now, there would be no need to live by faith..I mean faith we as Christians live by now, today. Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. We would also have no need to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

And I believe it will take all of eternity to know all things once we are in heaven.

I entertain a private idea. And that idea is that we on being received in heaven will have access to the mind of God. In other words we will be joined with his knowledge.

Remember Scripture says," in that day you will ask me no questions" if you have no questions, it is because you have the answers.

John 17:3: "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."

no,scripture plainly says we only know in part, but one day we will know ,just as we are known.

Why is it? I always hear man is not up to it!
God made man! Yes, God made everything!
But, he calls you, my children! Why?
Christ said:
If you believe in God, believe in me!
Nothing inside you is keeping you from seeing your father.
Maybe its something outside you, like man!
Yes, in time everything will come to the light.
After all, that the only place you can see, in the light.

God thinking isn't like our thinking. His ways are not our ways. He's beyond what we can ever comprehend as human beings.

No. We only understand so much, & Gods thinking goes beyond our understanding.

I doubt that the human mind can fully understand anything, least of all God. The Bible is rich in metaphors, trying at least to give us just a little sense of what God is like.
