Amen, char - the greatest love story completed by faith.
---aka.joseph on 6/8/10

Amen-Trav.
Greatest love story-by faith it is completed.
---char on 6/8/10
Thank you, Trav -- Sometimes you have to connect the dots for me.
---Donna66 on 6/7/10

I'm a dot person myself. 14+ years.. Danged ole mortal man trav, always tussling with my spirit man.
YAHSHUA, bless two who are not scorners.
Proverbs 14:6
A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.
Proverbs 24:14
So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

Trav -- The scriptures you gave are fine. Yes, I read them. But what are they a foundation for?---Donna66 on 6/5/10

The greatest love story ever printed...but....not to some.
Faith is established with facts. As a child we faith a fact. My Father loves me, my dad will protect me....we have trust/faith...seeing/feeling the complete love of creator/parent. These+other scriptures establish enormity of this love.
The foundation of Christianity is: GOD loved a people enough to marry them.
If GOD had not married....Divorced and loved the "Ex" enough to forgive/redeem remarry. There would be no Christianity for you,me anyone. Heb 8:8.
---Trav on 6/7/10

Trav -- The scriptures you gave are fine. Yes, I read them. But what are they a foundation for? I still fail to see how they relate to my statement that I find it difficult to have the unquestioning faith of a child.
---Donna66 on 6/5/10

It was just me I guess. It sounded pretty blunt, but without voice inflection it's hard to ascertain attitude. I should have given benefit of the doubt and for that I apologize. May we answer the blog question to the best of our abilities then.
Yes. faith the size of a mustard seed.

While it may appear that there are degrees of fate that Christians go through it is better understood as degrees of "growth" that Christians go through.
---mima on 6/5/10

trav,..it's just me but I don't think you have answered donna's question nor her blog sufficiently. ....rather than an 'I know and I can't believe you don't' attitude. ---micha9344 on 6/4/10

Did not have that attitude in heart.
Questions were to Donna based on, I know Donna studies scripture.
Scripture reveals if she looks/asks.
You want to know, let the teacher of all teachers of scriptures fully explain it.
When absolute truth is found witnessed in scripture, by scripture.....no man can take that away even by death or threats of death. Faith.

I pointed towards faith/truth building statements in scripture. She has to build her own house. The foundation material is there.....when the prophets are addressed.
---Trav on 6/5/10

All men have a measure of faith
Some do have more faith than others.
And some have a gift of faith. Those with the gift of faith, they pray with no doubts.
many have some faith, they prray, and yet have some doubt.

Lord I believe, but help thou my unbelief.
---francis on 6/5/10

trav, maybe it's just me but I don't think you have answered donna's question nor her blog sufficiently. Maybe a new Nth house blog may suffice or connect the dots in the spirit of love and edification for the encouragement of fellow believers rather than an 'I know and I can't believe you don't' attitude. May you shed light on the prophets through the Spirit of His Word.

trav --- Would you mind explaining how your scriptures on divorce and remarriage etc. apply to my statement (of 6/2/10) about trusting God?
---Donna66 on 6/4/10

Have you found and looked at the scriptures for yourself?
Has anyone ever pointed out this marriage? Why not?
The largest event that is ever happened in the history of man other than being created.
Did you connect it to the New Covenant?
No men or group of men in the history of the world could/would create such a fantastic story and align the events hundreds of years after their deaths. It establishes the Old and the New. With every prophet witnessing.
No denom doctrine talks or points to this. No pastor. This in itself should speak.

What I find difficult, ...---Donna66 on 6/2/10

I did...until it was pointed, and I searched out the true reason of the entire book we study. It is written and visible but, hid except to those who search for it. Here are a few verses of many pertaining:GOD married:(Jeremiah 3:14)
GOD divorced:(Jeremiah 3:8) *exception judah
GOD remarrys:(... I will go and return to my first husband, ....
Hosea 2:6-8)
Jeremiah 31:31/Heb 8:8.
...but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
Romans 7:1-3
10 nations divorced...are Matt 10:6/15:24.
---Trav on 6/4/10

Oh my goodness, YES! If yours drop don't worry about it, you will get it back.

What I find difficult, is to mature and yet trust God with the unquestioning faith of a child in his parents.

A baby has faith, but doesn't put their faith in someone except maybe their mother or father.
Then that baby grows up to be a child and their faith begins to realize who they can trust and who they shouldn't trust (strangers) ---Donna5535 on 4/21/10

I was reflecting at this gift question....but, you nailed it.
Mine came after 40 years. Mine came from scripture witnessing scripture. It made many/most teachers and preachers strangers. Especially the authoritatives, ones who couldn't deal with the meat scriptures. Scripture steak a little strong for many...but the most discouraged searchers. Yeah, I meant discouraged.

I found a teacher beyond all. You as well it's obvious.
Bless you Ms Donna for ur food.

Very few Christians, if any, are taught how to get to a "faith FOR FAITH"...

Romans 1:17
"the righteousness of God is revealed through FAITH FOR FAITH".

Young, inexperienced Christians are referred to as "BABES in Christ".

After being TRAINED by scripture to renounce worldliness and irreligion, it becomes time for SPIRITUAL GROWTH (maturity).

2 Timothy 3:16
"training in righteousness".

Hebrews 6:1
"move on to maturity".

1 Corinthians 3:13
"FAITH, hope and LOVE....the GREATEST of these is LOVE".

A devotion/relationship that is first based on FAITH must move on to become a devotion that is based on LOVE (God is LOVE).
---more_excellent_way on 6/1/10

Galatians 5:6
For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but faith which worketh by love.

1 Timothy 1:14
And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

Well, we GROW in the GRACE and Knowledge of Jesus Christ, THROUGH FAith that works by Love only.

Perfect Love (that is maturing love has cast out fear).

This is how our faith matures.

\\A relationship grows just as Faith grows too....right Cluny?\\

Right. That's what I said in my first post to this thread.

Cluny said: Faith is a RELATIONSHIP, and it's one in which God takes the initiative.

A relationship grows just as Faith grows too....right Cluny? So there aer degrees of faith and the baby level is the one we start out with - aas the RELATIONSHIP GROWS, then does our FAITH....Amen Cluny?
---Donna5535 on 4/22/10

There are steps, or progress, but no particular order. We grow every day, month ,year.Sometimes we're stalled out for awhile. God notices our growth, but doesn't expect us to be at the same area or level as others. We're on our own progress plan.

\\A baby has faith, but doesn't put their faith in someone except maybe their mother or father.\\

I disagree.

Faith is a RELATIONSHIP, and it's one in which God takes the initiative.

And according to many places in the Bible, it's a relationship that starts in infancy, if not in utero.
---Cluny on 4/21/10

Romans 10:17 Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Jude 1:20 But you, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. Faith is an action word,we see we hear the Word to receive it and we can build faith up within ourselves by praying in the Holy Ghost. We as Christians go from faith to faith growing in faith by using faith. Hebrews 11:6 Without faith it is impossible to please him/God:-. The closer we attend to Bible study, prayer, praise to God and draw ever nearer to God the more faith we gain. Experience contributes to our gowth of faith. The more we have prayers answered the more we learn to hope and trust in God and grow in faith.
---Darlene_1 on 4/21/10

Yes and I think there's also the GIFT of Faith.

A baby has faith, but doesn't put their faith in someone except maybe their mother or father.

Then that baby grows up to be a child and their faith begins to realize who they can trust and who they shouldn't trust (strangers).

Then when that child grows up into an adult, learns about God, loves Him, fellowships with Him, their faith can be very very deep and it may not be a problem for them at this point to put their faith in God TOTALLY - for everything they need.

Then there's the GIFT of faith, but I'm not sure when that is given and who gets to have it. Certainly not me, I had to GROW in faith throughout the years.
---Donna5535 on 4/21/10

Your faith will rise and it will fall.....Not to worry, you will get it back, every single time, my friends. The more you love God the deeper your faith. Your love for God will grow, so will your faith, grow.....Satan will never give up. Not as long as you are breathing to try and steal you away from the living God. He wants as many people in hell with him.

There are degrees of growth in the Lord but you can't parse a mustard seed of faith.

We confuse faith in God with belief in God.

What is faith if its weak? Isn't faith strong by definition?
---larry on 4/20/10

Obviously, we grow in our faith as we exercise it.

But initially, faith is always a gift.
