Son Just Committed Suicide

My 13 year old son committed suicide on 4/16/10. I pray he got to go to heaven because I don't think he realized the biblical consequences. Do you believe that his grandparents will know him there and take care of him? Is he just a spirit floating around or does he actually have a body in heaven?

//Why is everyone jumping on catherine?//

If this were an isolated case of uncaring behavior, then I could see your point. But, this is not. She continually pulls the trigger on her self-delusional "prophetic" shotgun and does not care where it goes and who it affects. This totally flies in the face of Scriptre and God.

Romans 12:14-16 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.

Catherine has proven herself over and over anti-Scripture.

Donna66>>>mercy must rise from God, or it is fake. Lieing proves that you do not love God nor man. There is a scripture Trish9863>>>Which God warns of flattery tongues. Remember, also, Jesus is not just the New Testament. He is also the Old Testament, and I dare say you know not God or His Son. There is another Scripture, "Be weary of men who speaks well of you for they did the same to the false prophets of long ago. Or it goes something like that. Why don't you check it out, since you seem to know more than the prophet. Jesus, yes Jesus said that.

Isnt this what you all believe too?
Arent these the things youve been taught and continue to teach?
Are these not the thing you see in the bible?
Why, I even believe you are affirming what Cyndi herself ready believe?

Its hard to simply believe God!
Its hard to see he will raise the dead!

You know and may god forgive me. But, some of you kill me.

But not you, right! You have been made clean.
Because you believe, you have faith.
You have been Bless by God!

Yea, good luck with that!

When you take your own life, your putting your life in your own hands & Not the hand of God.
That is Not if you do such that your # is called by God. That person is like playing God.
Just like Judas when he betrayed The Lord, went hung himself & is lost. Why didn't Judas repent? instead of his own hanging.
People that do such Are lost.

Hello, I am so sorry for your loss, I would like to offer you this scripture. and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it. Ecc 12:7 NIV Your son is with God and he is not a disembodied spirit. Only God can judge your son's heart and His mercy is upon all who love Him. I know this is hard to endure but living your life as a monument to your son in order that you are reunited with him in heaven is something to hold on to... to strive for. God bless you and I'm here if you need to talk.

I just came across this blog it seems to me that if you want to understand just go to the word of God He will give you the understanding. It is not who is right because the Bible tells us not to lean on our own understanding Pt 3:5 but to search out the truth the Spirit of God shall direct your path. Just pray and read the word. It will not come to you overnight. We learn until we go to our grave. God bless you all. Be still and know that I'm God.Ps 46:10

I know your sons in heaven as my son is to.We just got the news that our 27 year old son also took his life. After talking to several priests they said that God looks at the persons entire life.In your case your son was so young and innocent and confused,he hadn't even started life yet.In my son's case he fought addictions since the teen years and could no longer live his life, the only happiness for him was death in order to stop this merry go around of hell. Our god is a loving, forgiving and understanding God.There no question about it,my son is finally free of addictions and in heaven with his uncle and grandfathers fishing for trout. And your son is in his grandmothers arms. Our sons are in heaven praying for us,now.God Bless You

MarkV: It is late tonight and I am going on a trip tomorrow, but I want to try to respond to you before I go.
You write:" If the person is asleep and so is the Spirit how can he be with the Lord
always"?
1. the person/living soul = spirit/breath of life + body.
At death the Spirit/breath of life returns to God and the body returns to dust/the grave.
So, the living soul ceases to exist. It is not asleep!
Now when it comes to the sentence " I am with you ALWAYS even to the very ends of the ages" Jesus is speaking to those left behind living after losing a loved one. It is not the deceased that is staying with the Lord always. Hence your question is not necessary.
---Pierre on 5/6/10

And here you say to Cyndi,
"We know this is true because Jesus said " I am with you ALWAYS, even to the vey ends of the ages."
If the person is asleep and so is the Spirit, how can he be with the Lord always? He said He would never leave him.

Cyndi: God is close--even when you are hurting. You may not find it easy to believe right now when the hurt is so painful. But God does know all about it, and He cares. He's very close, even when He seems far away.

He says:" when you pass through the waters, I will be with you, when you pass through the rivers , they will not sweep over you. ISA 43:2 God is present in our worst trials and hurts. First let me say that my heart gos out to the parents and family of this child. Now I would like to say that I believe in a merciful and loving God who will not hold a child responsible for this action. Even if he had a relationship with our lord he was lead astray and snared by the spirit of this age. Our Lord came to heal, redeem and risque us from this evil. Gods love is given to all, he will not hold a lost lamb responsible he will lift him and keep his soul safely with him always.

Donna5535: "Steveng, I deeply respect your walk with the Lord and have read your responses to other posts and have always agreed with you, but not this time.

When you die,.."

At the last trumpet blows, the dead in Christ shall rise first and the living shall be caught up with them.

So, do the spirits of the living leave their bodies and the millions of bodies just lay their on the ground? God forbid.

1 Corinthians 15:35-58

Our bodies shall change as did Jesus as he ascended into heaven so shall we.
---Steveng on 5/4/10

Steveng, I deeply respect your walk with the Lord and have read your responses to other posts and have always agreed with you, but not this time.

When you die, God receives the breath of life (your spirit) back to Him. It ends up where God is if He's the one who receives it - so it's in Heaven with Him.

You are going to be surprised when you die. God will receive your spirit, your breath of life, and your spirit lives on in heaven. Your body goes to the grave.

Jesus calls this "eternal life." Eternal means never-ending.
Jesus also promised Everlasting life - life that lasts forever.
When we get resurrected, the body and the spirit of man will be reunited. Please trust me on this, I'm telling you the truth.

KarenD: JESUS compares death to sleep. The
Bibel does the same many times.Jn 11:11-14
Is that "false" and "unbiblical teaching"? Please explain. I don't get it.
---Pierre on 5/4/10

Elder...Amen! The thing about being an ex-mormon, is that the gift of discernment is so strong in my life that false doctrine and cult-teachings are so recognizable. Thank the Lord that HE equips us with the tools to deal with the ministries that he has placed in our lives. As soon as anyone starts talking "sleep" instead of death, it is so obvious.
---KarenD on 5/4/10

Elder: You make some pretty strong statements
about books I sent you, full of false teachings and lies. Can you at least give me an example of such? You continue to accuse me of adding more unbiblical teachings in my blog. Can you give me an example of this?
I don't want to argue with you. I just want you to prove that what you accuse me of is so. If I am guilty as charged I will gladly admit it.
---Pierre on 5/4/10

"KarenB: I don't see why you think my teachings are wrong. I took them right from the Bible. Where did I go wrong?"
Pierre
You went wrong long ago. Do you remember the 20 or so books you sent to me to study a couple of years back.
It only took minutes to see the false teaching and lies that they were full of. Now when someone needs comfort you pour on more unbiblical teaching. You use part of the Scripture to prove a point but not enough to prove a truthful doctrine.
This 13 year old may very well be in heaven even though his body is not.
It is Jesus who knows and does all things right.

Cyndi, I know for sure that your son's grandparents and he himself will recognize them and they will recognize him. God doesn't abandon your son once he gets to heaven.

I strongly urge you to buy Jesse Duplantis DVD called, Close Encounters of the God Kind. I watched it again yesterday. He explains what goes on in heaven, who is there, how your son will be welcomed and comforted. You will be VERY comforted knowing where your son is and how he's doing. He will grow up up there and when you get there, you will be his mother. His spirit is in heaven, his body is in the grave, the two will be reunited on resurrection day. But his grandparents will definitely recognize him and probably take him into their mansion.

Oh, you are SO wrong! Perhaps you have never lost someone that you loved, and so can't feel sympathy for someone else who has. You don't have to know the person, to understand that they are hurting. You don't have to be a Christian either, so lay aside, for once, your bitterness toward other Christians.

The loss of a child is one of the most painful experiences on earth. I hope to God YOU never lose a child! YOU may feel NOTHING for this woman, but you should be ashamed for denying the feelings of those who DO.

Donna5535, let's reason this out. The living know that they must die: but the dead don't know anything, neither do they any more rewards, for the memory of them is forgotten.

The dead are conscious of nothing at all. The dead do not praise the LORD. The dead have no remembrance of you. The dead can neither love nor hate. There is no work, no devising, no knowledge, no wisdom in the grave. The thoughts of the dead perish.

But at the last sound of the trumpet, the dead in Christ will rise and the living will be caught up with them. This is the first resurrection. The second resurrection is at the end of the thousand year reign of Christ where all the other dead will rise and be judged from the Book of Life according to their work.

#2-Pierre - glad I looked up the word IMMORTALITY - it proves you are looking at this from a scientific point of view - I knew you were not of the same spirit as I am....I could sense it.

Immortality (or eternal life) is the concept of living in a physical or spiritual form for an infinite or inconceivably vast length of time.[2]

As immortality is the negation of mortalitynot dying or not being subject to deathit has been a subject of fascination to humanity since at least the beginning of history. The Epic of Gilgamesh, one of the first literary works, dating back at least to the 22nd century BC, is primarily a quest of a hero seeking to become immortal

1. Jn 11:11-14 Jesus compares death to sleep
2. 1 Tess.4:15-16 Those asleep in Jesus arise
at His 2nd coming.
3. At death, the body return to the dust and
the Spirit (same as breath of life Job
27:3) returns to God. NB: NOT THE SOUL!
4. 1 Tim 6:16 Human beings do not have
IMMORTALITY!
5. 1 COR 15:51-54 We receive IMMORTALITY
when Jesus comes again.
6. ECC 9:5 The dead do not know anything.

I believe what the Bible teachs: your body will go to the grave BUT your Spirit/Breath
of life will return to God. As a livng soul/personyou will not exist again until
Jesus comes back He will combine your
BODY and the BREATH OF LIFE and you will again be a LIVING SOUL/PERSON.

Pierre, since you haven't been posting here until now, I don't know you, nor seen alot of your responses to see what spirit you have/come from.

I think YOU'RE confused. If there is a time after I die that I am separated from Jesus because YOU believe my body and spirit go to the grave and my spirit does not go to heaven, then one of us is wrong and I don't think it's me.

My body will go to the grave, my spirit will go to heaven. If that is not true, then you believe my body and spirit go to the grave? and I will spend time separated from Jesus? Doesn't make any sense whatsoever. This is false doctrine Pierre. Believe what you want and I'll beleive what God shows me. okay?
---Donna5535 on 5/3/10

Donna5535: I am sure that you are sincere in your views but allow me to suggest that you are confusing "eternal life" with "immortality"

I also believe that your son was still a child in the eyes of God. That he is with him now. Believe and know that Satan attacked his thoughts and mind because he was a child of Christ and those that are strong are attacked fiercely. You must understand that your suffering is also an attack from Satan. The attacks have not stopped and will not stop until you give this burden over to Christ. Phillipians 4:6 and make sure you say GET THEE BEHIND ME SATAN everytime you dwell on your son being anywhere other than heaven. God Bless You, Grace

To those who believe Christians, when they die, go to the grave, and their spirit isn't united back to them until resurrection day, then what did Jesus mean when He promised us, "He who believes shall have everlasting life?" Everlasting means lasting forever.

Then Jesus promised us "eternal life." Eternal means never ending.

So if our life never ends, then when Christians who are In Christ Jesus, if we don't go to heaven and our body goes to the grave, then there's a time of separation from Jesus until resurrection day - I do not believe that. To be separated from Jesus until the resurrection is a false doctrine. And it would be horrible if we were separated from him for any time period after we die.
---Donna5535 on 5/3/10

MarkV: I would disagree with myself if I supported what you claim I supported:
1. I do not believe in soul sleep. I believe that at death the body returns to the grave and the Spririt/breath of life returns to the Creator. At DEATH THE soul CEASES TO EXIST. I disagree that it is the SOUL/SPIRIT that returns to God at death. The spirit: YES the soul:NO.
2. I do not believei in the intermediate state that you refer to as "conscious presence with Christ in heaven as disembodied souls..."
I do agree with you that there is no second chance of repentance after death!
Kindly, permit me to suggest that your concept of soul/spiriit may need further study and may have led to your claiming that I was teaching "soul sleep."
---Pierre on 5/3/10

Cyndi, my prayers are for you and the rest of the family. Losing a son or daughter is something I have never gone through and hope I never will. May God through this very terrible time, bring comfort to all of you and strength to get you through it all.
As to his destiney, I am with Tommy, only God knows the heart of a person. Don't speculate just leave it to God. Blessings and prayers for you and family.
---MarkV. on 5/3/10

Mark E and Donna, I agree with you and totally disagree with Pierr. Pierr is teaching the teachings of soul sleep. Soul sleeping, or what is call "suspended animation" of the soul between death and the final resurrection is a departure from orthordox Christianity. The intermediate state refers to our consicious presence with Christ in heaven as disembodied souls, between death and the resurrection of our bodies. There is no second chance of repentance after death. (Phil. 1:19-26, 2 Cor. 5:1-10).
When a person is born of the Spirit, his spirit become eternal, it never dies, and of course never needs sleep, the soul/spirit returns to the Lord to await the resurrection of the body.

I don't really know where to begin. But do accept my love and prayers for you and your family, at this very sad time in your life. I have lost a child and it is very heart-wrenching but God will see you through. Please know this. Read Psalm 30:5. Psalms 122, Hebrews 13:5 and other comforting scriptures. Your burden will ease day by day. Just keep looking to Jesus to see you through. Be strong my sister. You will smile again. The tears will slow down. You will get stronger day by day.
---Robyn on 5/2/10

Cyndi--I'm so sorry. How your heart must break every day. I hope you are not blaming yourself or letting anyone blame themselves for this tragedy. That's the tendancy when someone takes their own life. But it's nobody's fault.
I would guess your boy, in his youth and inexperience, felt he couldn't cope with the things that bothered him. He was mistaken, of course, but couldn't see it.

Remember that God is merciful.Psa 100:5 For the LORD is good, His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations. We often can't figure out why things happen. But Abraham, a man of great faith, said: "Shall not the Judge of all the world do right?" Yes, you can count on it..always.
---Donna on 5/1/10

Yes, all our hearts goes out to you and your family. My heart however, goes out more to Jesus. He died a most terrible death to save some from hell. There ARE severe consequences if you die in your sins. Let your son's death be a life lesson to you. Tell people what I have written. Warn them, you cannot die in your sins and expect to go to heaven. God will not except excuses on judgment day.....Ignorance is no excuse. And anyone who misleads you in this, hates your soul, my friends.

Donna5535: "Pierre, WHERE did you come from? and who are you to tell me not to recommend a DVD, it's NOT a book....please don't mix my words like that...

You are a false prophet."

No one, except Jesus, has been to heaven, yet. Only upon the return of Jesus will the first resurrection come to pass where the dead in Christ shall rise first and the living shall be caught up with them.

As for any book/DVD, the only book that is needed is the bible - not concordances, novels, the opinions of authors, and other christian reference books - only the bible and, of course, the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
---Steveng on 4/30/10

Christians today are just too knowledgeable to properly understand spritual matters. And walking hand in hand with that knowledge is a plethora of opinions and interpretations of the bible. Satan has had 2,000 years to infiltrate the church and has destroyed it from within and dividing it up into denominations each having it's own traditions, rituals, ways of living and interpretations of the bible.

Christians today do not have a strong foundation in the bible in order to discern the truth from the false. They take an opinions or an idea from someone and if it 'sounds' good then it must be true.

The sympathy on these blogs are only words and don't come from the heart. True sympathy comes from personally knowing that person.

Cyndi...You mention that you didn't think that your son understood the consequences of his act. It is very possibly that he called out to the Lord before he died. We do not know. Jesus talked to his disciples about children and told them to bring the children to HIM. He showed that they needed to learn about HIM even as adults needed to learn. As far as suicide being an unforgivable sin, the Bible speaks on that when Jesus said in Matthew 12:31.."Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men." Listen to Jesus.

My heart does not go out to the dead for they are not conscious of anything, but to the living who must make decisions today that will have future consequences while they are still alive.

There are two resurrections: The first at the beginning of the thousand year reign of Christ when the dead in Christ shall rise first and the living in Christ shall be caught up with the dead.

The second resurrection is at the end of the thousand year when all the other dead from all of earth's past history shall rise and be judged from the Book of Life according to their works.

Blessed are the ones that rise at the first resurrection for they shall not see the second death.

My own husband committed suicide and I know how you must be grieving. In the days and months following his death, as I processed the shock, the Lord showed me a kindness by way of a dream. He showed me my husband in a place of detention, a "punishment" if you will, for taking his own life. My husband was detained there for a time, then released. My husband's own family believed he had been cursed to Hell for his actions. But I now know that though such things receive judgment and punishment, that does not necessarily mean an eternity of anguish. God is good. He recognizes the nature of mistakes, and desires that none be lost. Be at peace.

2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

This is from Jack Van Impe site...
we shall be like Jesus, for we shall see Him as He is, I John 3:2 and I Corinthians 13:12 says because of it, we shall be known as we know others. Well know everyone on the other side. We wont have to be introduced. I hope this gives you comfort!

Donna: I respectfully disagree with your recomendation that Cyndi buy a book that deals with the subject of the state of the dead THAT IS CONTRARY TO THE TEACHING OF THE BIBLE. The Bible tells us that the dead have no conciousness, they know nothing, they are asleep!
CLUNY: Th Bible teaches that at death the BODY returns to the grave and the BREATH OF LIFE returns to God the Creator. The soul ceases to exists!

(Cyndi)) my deepest, heartfelt sympathy and compassion goes out to you during this time of grieving for your son.

Try to purchase a copy of Jesse DuPlantis "Close Encounters of the God Kind." He gives his testimony of when the Lord took him to heaven. He said you do recognize your relatives there. Your son's spirit went to heaven, his body went to the grave.

Yes, your son will see people there he knows. He will be greatly comforted there.

To get through your sorrow, you can tell God to please let him know you are thinking of him and you love him so very much...I believe God's angels will bring messages to him if you ask. I'll be praying for you Cyndi, I know this is very painful for you (((huggss)))).

Cyndi:

I pray that God's peace may flood over you.

I know a portion of how you are feeling. I lost my 26 year old son two years ago to lung cancer.

You will feel a mix of emotions, from sadness, to anger, to shame. This is normal, even to question God and your faith during this time. But the important thing is to process your feelings. Do not keep it bottled up or say that you will deal with it later. That will cause you harm and damage later. I got into a Griefshare group and it helped me greatly. I suggest you seek a group like this or a grief counselor.

If your son was saved, he is waiting for you with the Lord. No sin, not even suicide, can keep the true believer from the presence of the Lord.

Death is the separation of the soul from the body.

At the Resurrection, our resurrected, glorified bodies are reunited with our souls.
---Cluny on 4/29/10

Please accept my deepest sympathies. My best suggestion for you right now is to meditate on God's Word. When I suffer a loss, I find comfort in Psalm 139. Don't try to make sense of anything right now. Just rest in the Lord.
---Trish9863 on 4/29/10

Pierre agreed. Cyndi my halfbrother I never knew hung himself on April 1,2010 Just take one day at a time & know all will rise from their graves when the ressurection comes. he is at peace now sleeping in rest.
For those thinking people go straight to heaven please read John 3:13. this shows me we're all in rest till Jesus comes again.
"no one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from Heaven, that is the son of man,who is in heaven." Also book of daniel ch 12 speaks of sleeping in the grave.

Just like a soldier in the war who is righteously minded, your son suffered the shellshock of life at a very young age. The Lord will do the right thing and give your son no more than a dirty look before welcoming Him home.

This world is a very uncomfortable place for the righteous ESPECIALLY at such a young age.

God knows each person's heart better than anyone on earth could imagine.

Regardless of how well aquainted with the truth of Jesus your son was, The Lord knew your son's heart...

John 14:2
"In my Father's house are many rooms".

....God is LOVE.

my dear, there are only words of comfort that can be said to you after this tragedy, only a person who has lost a child can really know how you feel. Please allow me to say how heartfelt sorry IAM FOR your loss.my personal opinion is at 13 your son wasn,t at the age of accountability, meaning that he went to be with the lord.
---tom2 on 4/29/10

Cyndie,be strong in the Lord!
Your son rests in the tomb you laid him in.
When a person dies, the Bible teaches that the body retuns to the ground and the breath of life returns to God.
Rigth now, your son "sleeps" like Lazarus slept but he will be resurrected again when Jesus returns!
