You must be Born Again by the power of GOD to be saved. What you must do is accept the LORD JESUS CHRIST as your saviour and believe in HIM.

Now when you do this you will Love the LORD your GOD with all you are and your neighbor as your self. The HOLY SPIRIT works this out in you as you surrender yourself to GOD. Love for Him and love for others springs up inside of you causing you to hate sin and love others.

If these things do not happen it is because you have not been born again.

//The jews alreacy have the sanctuary, and the prophets so they know of God and his plan.

The gentiles may not know of the sanctuary or the prophets, it may be nessessary to start from the begining with gentiles.//

Francis, with two Gospels in mind, I encourage everybody whether Jew or Gentile to reread ALL of Romans and Hebrews, and not just cherry pick verses to convey a mixed-up, confusing gosepel.

Recently, I have come to see it is absolutely essential to separate the gospels and to find witness that ties them together.

The Word is so much richer to me now.
---aka.joseph on 6/14/10

I like the approach of dividing it by Jew or and gentile

The jews alreacy have the sanctuary, and the prophets so they know of God and his plan.

The gentiles may not know of the sanctuary or the prophets, it may be nessessary to start from the begining with gentiles.

In our era, it is always good to start by validating the bible for those who are gentiles.

How can you choose that which you dont know or trust?
Because someone come to you, says believe?
Men that walked and talked, right there with him, walked away at the end.
You keep thinking you have a choice, you tell each other you have to choice!
Im sorry, please forgive me? Please dont get mad at me!
But, these kinds of things make me laugh! What, choice have you really?

I think you guys have heard me say, not by anything. I have or have not gone!
Even onto my faith, my belief. I feel, as if I was given it. Its only because of him I believe.
People say not belief alone. That you must do!
Do what? Tell you! You dont believe!
---TheSeg on 6/14/10

Of course, we have to know what we believe in order to believe:

To the Jew: Heb 9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building, 12Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

To the Gentile: Rom 3:25Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God,

Yes I am looking at IN HIM because that is who it is about- CHRIST!
Did God send you to die for the sins of the world? NO
Did YOU pay for my sin? NO
Did Markv, pay for my sins? NO
Christ did.
Before I was in HIM, I was a sinner filthy and going to hell.
But now Since I am in HIM, I am predestined and adopted.

You keep thinking God chose you with out Christ first.
It works like this-
God draws
You say "yes" or "no"
If you say yes, you are placed Christ- ADOPTED!
IN HIM! That is what God says. Why -because I didn't do a thing for my own salvation.
---miche3754 on 6/14/10

Catherine, you quote is very wrong. The elect who are already saved are never deceived. The one's who are still lost who have not heard the gospel of their salvation yet, are lost. But when they do hear it, they will believe it by faith, and they too will have eternal life, and they will not be deceived. The Bible says, "If it was possible" does not mean it is. I can see why Miche amened your statement. You need for God to speak to you more, and you need to listen to the correct words. I love your answers many times, but this one is completely wrong.
---MarkV. on 6/14/10

Just believing will not cut it. You will die and go to hell. It takes the living God plus His Blood to get you....to heaven.

Miche says,
"Donna66
You only become chosen IF you are in Christ."

Can anyone make logic of that sentence?

The Truth is, "You are in Christ because you have been chosen" It is not the other way around.
then says,
"No one is chosen by themselves before the foundation of the world.
Only Christ was"

How about Eph. 1:4,
"Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world"
He chose "us"(believers) to be in Christ before the foundation of the world. Plain Truth.
---MarkV. on 6/13/10

miche3754-- This is deja vu. We've had this discussion before on these blogs... chewed the scripture into little pieces.

Eph 1:4-5 According as he hath chosen US in HIM before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will.

I emphasize US, You emphasize HIM.
I emphasize His choice, you emphasize ours.

We may never settle this disagreement until we see HIM. Meantime, we are reedeemed by the blood of Jesus and share the Gospel so all may hear. This is such an old argument (centuries old) I have no more energy for it.

What if I was going have a party on a particular day?
Wouldnt I have to send the invitation out before then?
Wouldnt I know who was going you come?
Plus you can only come-in when and if I open the door!
Im just saying. Before the foundation of the world!

It could be, couldnt it? Why say no?
Why can God know everything?
Did he not know Christ would do the will of the father?

And thinking about right now! Why cant God say, come hell or high water!
You will be with me in heaven, before the foundation of the world!

Yea, you know I think Im severely nuts!
Whats up with that!
---TheSeg on 6/14/10

Donna66

You only become chosen IF you are in Christ.

The only way that will happen is IF the person is drawn by God. The person is drawn by God BY/THROUGH the preaching and teaching of God's word.

Once this is done, people have 2 choices.
Believe the word of God- get saved
Don't believe - not get saved

No one is chosen by themselves before the foundation of the world.
Only Christ was.
If you believe, then God adopts you.
If you were chosen by yourself by God before the foundation of the world, there would have been no need to send Jesus to save the world.

Or they listen to some unsaved preacher who will quote Scripture and no power. ["if you believe from your heart that Jesus was raised from the dead."] No power. No convincing in it. Weak in what they say. This is how even the elect can be fooled, yes. Tricked, yes. Remember, Satan can quote Scripture.

---Kimo on 6/13/10

Kimo, to be save, you have to have faith in the works of Christ on the cross for your sins, and believe in His resurrection. God quickens our spirit and brings us to life by His Holy Spirit. When you hear the gospel Truth of your salvation, and you believe in it by faith, you will make a committment to Christ, and you will be save. The psalmist declared, "Thy people offer themselves willingly in the day of they power" 110:3. Zanchius expressed this idea very clearly when he declared that man was a free agent, and then added, "Yet he acts, from the first to the last moment of his life, in absoluted subserviency (thought perhaps he does not know it, nor design it) to the purposes and decrees of God concerning his life.
---MarkV. on 6/13/10

Miche -- I never accused you of saying sin wasn't paid for. I didn't suggest you felt God had nothing to do with salvation

My ONLY question was do you think God has nothing to do with how we choose? I put this in bold type so you would not confuse it with some other idea.
Yes, all people need to hear about sin and how it's paid for. They need to hear about Jesus.
Even if God has chosen them, nobody is BORN with this knowledge.
Rom 10:14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? ....
We do not know ahead of time who will believe and who will not. Our only responsibility is to share the Good News so they can.

Now Kimo, I will ask you a question.
Considering that Jesus Himself affirmed the salvation of the thief that hung adjacent to Him on the cross, who at the time of his salvation was still under the law. My question is, what did the thief 'do', according to the law, to merit his salvation, or to be awarded the privilege of one day passing from death to life? If you can answer that question, 'you' will have answered your original question:o)
---Josef on 6/13/10

No Kimo. Jesus is never wrong.
He spoke only as the Father inspired Him to speak.
Jesus is telling us to 'keep', in the sense of embracing, His laws (of love), the principles He has established for life. We are to keep them in mind as we go about our daily lives, considering and reflecting upon them when making decisions or interacting with one another. To do so is to guard and protect ourselves, and others, from injury or loss due to inappropriate actions or responses on our part. Those principles are established within us as we are empowered to yield to Him, to rest our purpose and thoughts upon Him. Subsequently we are supported and sustained 'by' Him. Again Kimo, His work, not ours. Our 'Labour' is to rest. Hbr 4:11
---Josef on 6/12/10

Kimo- Matt 19:17 is just the beginning. The young man then tells Jesus he HAS kept all the commandments from his youth, saying "what do I lack?" Jesus commands him to sell all his goods to give to the poor...
But the young man sadly turns away because because he is quite wealthy.

Mat 19:24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
Mat 19:25-26 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

Can YOU keep all the commandments?

Donna66,
I didn't say sin wasn't paid for.
I am saying you need to show that you know it was paid for!

If God didn't love ALL of us even the lost, he would not have sent Jesus.
If God had already made the choice from the beginning of time, He would not have wasted his time coming here, and taking on mortal body, dying and rising again.
God shows his sovereignty AND love by giving us a choice.

Why do you bother telling people about Jesus if God only sent him just to save you and certain other characters on this site?
I know my God loves everyone. I know my God died for everyone's sins, not just yours and a select few like you seem to think.

Kimo:

Follow the words of Christ Yeshua and live accordingly. James said that faith without works is dead. Paul said that if you aren't growing in love with God more each day, you are only fooling yourself. Christ Yeshua said, "Come FOLLOW me."

Christ never trained "Christians", He trained disciples. Disciple means "student" and they learned by DOING!

It's true that we are saved by grace alone. Grace is getting something that we don't deserve, while mercy is not getting what we deserve.

It's also true that one cannot earn their way to Heaven. The entrance fee is too high and only those redeemed by Christ's perfect sacrifice may enter. Believe and be baptized and you shall be saved.

Why send his son to suffer when God had already made the choice for us?

Jesus didn't die just so that we would have a choice. God is a righteous God. The fact that he chose us (or chose for us), doesn't mean He accepted us just as we were. If He had, He would be condoning sin, for we are all sinners.
Sin STILL needed to be paid for to satisfy God's holy justice.

---Steveng on 6/10/10 is absolutely correct.

Jesus is what is preached about so much. But, if we preach Jesus and do not love 24/7, we do no have Jesus.

Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Remember your first love, and in turn, if we do not love each other daily, we become nothing.

2Jn 1:3 Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

Besides your typical "believe, repent, and get baptised" rituals, there is one word that is above all others to get you into heaven - love. Not only knowing that christians must love, but also show it by doing.

Stay away from denominational churches (each having their own traditions, rituals, ways of living, and interpretations of the bibl), they are a product of Satan. Just fellowship with other believers daily. Do an online KJV bible search for "one another," "each other," and "comfort" for living a christian life is a 24/7 lifestyle not a once a week peep talk dished out by denominational churches. And don't let others spoil your faith and joy as a true christian (Colossians 2:8-10).

"Gotcha miche3754...I was addressing what mima had said to refute you"

Amen Brother
But you know Im still being accused of speaking a man made doctrine and thats okay. I know what God says. I accept the WHOLE word of God. He is all that matters.

They can beat me up all they want, I will still stand for God and HIS truth.
When he says he came for ALL mankind to be saved, I believe. I don't believe God meant man to burn in hell, If God already had chosen who to save from the beginning, why waste time to send Christ. Why send his son to suffer when God had already made the choice for us?
No where in God's word have I ever read that.
God didn't make the choice for us. He sent his son so we could choose.
---miche3754 on 6/10/10

Kimo,
Look at it this way, if someone wants to become wealthy, they are wise to study the examples of those who have become wealthy.

If someone wants to be chosen by God, they would be wise to study the lives of those people, that were chosen by God.

God never changes, he is the same God today that he was in those days.
Why were they chosen?
As you study these folks in the Old Testament, you will begin to notice one common denominator.
They all walked in the ways of the Lord.
This is also what Jesus told the man in Matthew 19:17 to do.
---David on 6/9/10

And furthermore, we are too look upon all living men as dieing men! That's in the Bible a because I have read it. "It's in there somewhere", is what God instructed me one day to tell people.. Yes, He is real big on this, "go and tell them".
---catherine on 6/9/10

Gotcha miche3754...I was addressing what mima had said to refute you.

Kimo, here is one more wrinkle, Mat 7:22-23. If these people obviously expressed faith and did something in His name, why do they have to go away? Something else is needed.

A good indication that you will be saved/are being saved is that if the iniquity that you turned from is being replaced by fruit and self-serving good or bad works are being replaced by good works for others fueled by the Holy Spirit.

If you want an equation faith + goods works < > salvation.

faith + goods works through the Holy Spirit = salvation.

Athiest
The Bible is really not all that confusing, but as it is taught in many of our Churches it can become very confusing, as Kimo has pointed out.

Read the Gospels of Jesus Christ and you will find there is no conflict.
It's when people try to make the Gospels of Jesus fit into the Letter of Paul, instead of making the letter of Paul fit the Gospels of Jesus Christ that the confusion is created.
They make the student (Paul) greater than the Master (Jesus).

athiest, if someone is asking what must I do to be saved, that means they're an unbeliever at this point in their life.

Only believers in Christ Jesus know what it takes to be saved because they have read the bible and have been witnessed to and have heard the gospel and responded to it.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

When people say you don't need to DO anything, they mean like being kind to other people or following some church requirements. Even if these are good, they will not make you a Christian.

What to believe?
Believe that Jesus is the only Son of God, as powerful and Holy as His Father.

Believe that God has a purpose for your life, but you have been separated from Him by your sin (Everybody has sinned)

Believe that Jesus suffered and died on the cross to pay the penalty for your sins...so that they may be removed as a barrier between you and God.

Open your heart to Jesus, ask that your sins be forgiven. Ask Him to be your only Savior and guide. He's waiting for you!

Why do those in the Bible tell people to do something when they ask,"What must I do to be saved", if we do not need to do anything to be saved?
---kimo on 6/8/10

Kimo, you gotta have both.

You must accept Christ as your savior AND you must allow Christ to produce GOOD fruit in your life to SHOW you are his.

Faith without works is dead. Works without Faith is dead.
Faith unto works is life.
A good tree produces GOOD fruit.
Bad tree produces bad fruit.
A good tree cannot produce bad fruit otherwise it is what kind of tree? BAD.

You obey God's law out of Love of God and because Christ saved you, that is the fruit you produce.

There you go!
This is just the kind of thing that goes on with everyone, the commandments!

If someone says yes, you have to keep the commandments!
Understand you are making him or her, a hypocrite! How?

Because, in trying to tell you the truth, they are telling you to do something they cannot do!
This is Hypocrisy!

God said keep them. But you have to understand why!
You know just as well as everyone else, no one can keep all the commandments!

kimo Please forgive me!
But some will say you have to try, well go ahead try and try and try till the end of time.
And tell God, I tried!
Tell him the truth!
Do I have to tell you, the truth?

Josef, Must I keep the commandments to be saved?
---kimo on 6/8/10

Hello and may God bless you.

Mat 24:2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

The answer to this is read Matthew 23, But all of it!

Hypocrisy is the act of persistently professing beliefs, opinions, virtues, feelings, qualities, or standards that are inconsistent with one's actions. Hypocrisy is thus a kind of lie.

And know something else too! All of us do! You, me, everyone!
There is none good, but one, that is God!

If you can understand this!
We are all the same sinners!
This is why he said you are to forgive each other!

God help us!

People make being saved difficult because they want it done their way and not God's way. They do what is written in Romans 1:25.

Being saved is very simple and Tony has got it right, Ephesians 2:8-9.

Kimo, submit yourself to the Lordship of Christ to trust in, adhere to, rely and depend upon Jesus. He that yields to His empowerment will endure, remain, and abide with Him unto the 'end', (the termination) of this sensually based system of things, and 'be saved' by Him.

Church teachings are very confusing to me and to many like me.
I believe in God, but the teachings in many churches I have attended, as to how to be saved, are very confusing.

When asked, "What must we do to be saved?
They tell us to do something, then later on they tell us that we are saved by Grace and not because of something that we do.

If we are saved by Grace and not by anything that we do, why do people tell us to do something when we ask. "What must I do to be saved?

Can someone please explain this confusing teaching to me?

Absolutely Nothing.

God all ready picked who he wanted. You had nothing to do with process.

It a done deal and you can't change any out come.

If you were chosen to be in the family, do all things that Christ would want you to do. You may fail at times, you my have to go to the wood shed a few times but you well never ever be put out of Gods family.

If you can find God's Facebook page, he has the best family photo collection you can ever imagine. And if you look at his friends list it my blow out the capacity of you computer to process it as you broadband connection is not big enough.

"To be saved you must repent (confess and turn from) your sins, and accept (trust in) Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord (boss). This is the ONLY way to be saved.
---Leslie on 6/7/10"

Leslie would you consider going with what the Bible says in Romans 10:13, in acts 2:21, and Joel 2:32,"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

This Is the salvation plan that God gave to Apostle Peter & he delivered to the Jewish people on the day of Pentecost. Apostle Paul brought this Very Same Salvation message to us gentiles. First you must have faith, then Mark 16 v 16, Acts 2 v's 37 - 41 (this Fulfills Matt.28 v's 19 - 20). Go to Church services when the doors are open. Bible reading, praying, (prayer with fasting some days) living a clean & holy life every day. Stay away from satans pleasures of this world. He & or she that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved. Matt.10 v 22.
