My Life Is In Bad Shape
It all depends, on the circumstances....God does not expect you to be happy about all of them. On the other hand, He expects us to remain joyful unto the Lord, unto the end. Things can and often do get worse, so, try and be happy, or perhaps thankful with your circumstances, as of right now.... Most Americans have always had an easy life, and then when trouble hits them they cannot deal. Learn how to deal. God can help.

Hope this helps: Listen to While I'm waiting by John Waller. I went through a difficult time and this song reminded me that this is what faith is all about: stepping out of the way so that God can work on our problems. God gave us free will, but He is always there to welcome His lost children. Bad things are not always His plan, but everything works out according to His plan, it sometimes just takes longer because we have free will. Be glad yes, but be glad that you know Him and that He will see a way through the tough times.

One very important lesson I would like to leave with you. Very important: you are not the only one who feels that way. Sometimes people feel they are the only ones going through something. But you are not, friend. You have plenty company, ok. So be encouraged and trust God to bring you through this. Let go of something that may be holding you back. That is a part of our problems sometimes, too. Just choose to be free and then, move on. It takes guts and courage to be able to do that. But you must! Ask God to help you and He will. Gladly. Receive what I am saying to you today. Receive it by faith and things will begin to fall in place. Hugzzzzzzzz

I have no 100% positive answer. No one I know was as dedicated to following Christ as the apostle Paul but look at the trouble he had. Many times our circumstances are there to bring us to a closer reliance on God.
Sometimes they are the result of bad decisions and must be rode out but do not repeat the same mistake.
There is comfort and teaching from Paul when he said that he was content in whatever state, conditions or circumstances, he found himself because he knew who he could trust.

Luk.15:11-32 will answer all your questions! -The parable of the Lost Son.
We're all like this lost son. We're all (usually) partly responsible for our miseries (like the son left his father, wasted his property on immoral things etc). But there are also circumstances that occours without our influence (like the famine).
We may ask WHY, but God often ALLOWS tings to happen to make us realize our condition and TURN BACK TO HIM! It was not until his world broke down that the lost son "came to himself" (v.17). He realized his sin and unworthyness - yet, he had no other place to go but to his father. And so he did...
READ the parable CAREFULLY and learn HOW GOD will treat US - despite all our faults and unworthyness!

many christians ASK what is god's plan for them. many DO NOT KNOW. what aggrevates the problem, christians & pastors teach ASCETISM. the more you sacrifice, the more you divorce yourself from the world, the holier you become & that is god's will for you. then you make bad stupid decisions bec. of this concept to be the 'salt & light' of the world by divorcing yourself. you miss opportunities & blessings. common sense has been replaced with religion, hand outs & laziness been renamed malachi & 10%, if you suffer you are accused of sin or lack of faith when you are brainwashed & given stupid teachings from pastors who don't work

"My life is in very bad shape right now."
"Count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience." Jam 1:3>Rom 5:1-5
"Some of it my fault because of my mistake and bad decisions."
The realization and acknowledgment of an error is the foundation for overcoming it.
"is it GOD will or plan for me?"
"I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, 'thoughts of peace and not of evil', to give you a future and a hope." Jer 29:11
"If it is GOD plan, should I be happy about it?"
Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1Th 5:18

So far I see that no one has told you that you NEED to REPENT.
A sample prayer of repentence would be: Lord, (if you call him Lord, then address Him as Lord) If you don't call Him Lord, Jesus told us to pray to the Father in His name. Father God, I come to you in the name of Jesus your Son, the Messiah. I have made a mess of my life. I come to you to Repent of my sins which are (name them or name the situation that is a mess in your lif) and then tell God you REPENT in Jesus name and you are remorseful for your sins, that you want to accept the sacrifice Jesus made for you when he died on the Cross, and shed His Blood for your sins. Repent and receive His forgiveness for your sins. Then go from there. Develop a relationship with God.

I first want to tell you, that a trouble life can produce a trouble mind. What a wonderful God and Creator, because, He knew from the beginning the kind of life which His chosen people would live. Still, because of His Blood He saves. You are not suppose to look back, because, any other kind of life, you might not had received salvation. Assuming, of course, that you are saved, through His Blood, Powerful Blood. For some, we came from such a back-ground, until, depending on how old you were when He got you, some stuff may never be fixed. You go and do for God, with what is left, and with what God has given to you. These are words of wisdom which God has given to me, and now on to you. Good day+

You didn't say whether you are a christian or not, but, know this, that accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior DOES NOT get you out of a jam you made by wrong choices. There are consequences to all of our actions, you need to trust God to bring you through the difficult times and keep on trying.

I do understand, because sometimes in life we are at a stand still. It's like being in a fog with the things that happen out of our control or sometimes in our control. God is healer and deliver, we can overcome anything by the Blood of the Lamb. Wait on the Lord be of good courage, and He shall strenghthen your heart, wait, I say, on the LORD! Psalm 27:14

God forgives us our sins, but does not automatically clean up the mess we leave behind by them.
Nevertheless, He is with us THROUGH their consequences.
Thus do "ALL things work together for good for those who love the Lord--according to HIS purposes."
How it works out, I don't know. It's mystery.
