Jesus did not charge cursed tithes, nor one cent to minister: "All their wickedness in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes rebellious. And he found in the Temple them selling bullocks and firstling sheep and doves, and them coin changers sitting, and having made a whip out of green stems he drove out all them out of the Temple, and the firstling sheep and them bullocks and the money-chargers, pouring out the coins and overturning the tables. It is written, My house will be called the House of Prayer: but you all have made it a Den of robbers." Ho.9:15+ Jn.2:14,15+ Mt.21:13.
---Eloy on 9/10/10

Everything in life costs money. Just because a ministry asks for money doesn't mean they're all trying to get rich. If a school or teacher puts a price on what they're teaching no one thinks twice. It's normal. So does everyone think that ministries can give their teaching away for free when it costs them to do it? Come on people use a little wisdom & don't say that all tv ministries are false teachers when they ask for money. It's like saying you can't trust what a college teaches because they have a set fee. DUH!!

you accused me of robbing god when I mentioned to you that I don't give tithe. now you are mentioning about pastors & televangelist who exploit the bible by saying when you give $100 god will give you $1 million & then buy luxury cars & multimillion $$$ homes in the name of faith. so my point to you YOU are brainwashed.

thank you

A few years ago on his program This Is Your Day, Benny Hinn had Myles Munroe as a guest. Myles Munroe said "GOD CAN'T DO ANYTHING HERE ONE EARTH UNLESS HE FIRST (Myles Munroe) GIVES GOD PERMISSION, BECAUSE GOD IS ILLEGAL HERE ON EARTH."

Today, Benny Hinn had a guest by the name of David Evans. David Evans said "PEOPLE CANNOT EXPECT TO REVEIVE A BLESSING FROM GOD UNLESS THEY IRRITATE GOD."

Where in the world do these people come from and where do they get this MESS?
---Rob on 9/7/10

David:

If people fall away from God whenever a prophet (whether true or false) falls, it means their faith was misplaced - in the man, rather than God. One of the big dangers of religious superstardom is that it tends to create personality cults that encourage idolatry - people rely more on the evangelist who preaches about God than on God himself. The Gospel itself discourages this, so for this to happen, they usually have to be preaching something off-base in the first place to encourage this to happen.
---StrongAxe on 9/7/10

I totally agree!

\\Cluny, for you to make to comment you did regarding her not feeling well is cruel and uncalled for.
---Rob on 9/6/10\\

I think you missed my point. Allow me to paraphrase.

Why should catherine's not feeling well be an excuse to not look up something in the Bible, as she has said in the past that she "don't need no scriptures!" anyway?
---Cluny on 9/7/10

---catherine on 9/6/10

Catherine
When I say destroyed I do not mean the complete destruction of the Church, but the destruction of it's credibility in the eyes of the world.
This credibility which today seems to rest on the righteousness of these false teachers, and not the righteousness of Jesus Christ.

Catherine
I know of people who walked away from God when Jimmy Swaggart was exposed.
How did this happen?
They made sinful man their example of righteousness instead of a sinless Jesus Christ.
---David on 9/7/10

WE are responsible of what we accept the nonsense from these false teachers or not. WE are to be in prayer for discernment when it comes to giving to this nonsense. WE are responsible to lookout for ourselves and not be 'sitting ducks' to be taken advantage of. Turn these shows off, turn your backs on them, dont give to them and these false ministries will dry up. They survive ONLY because we allow them too.
---Lin on 9/7/10

There will always be a "Gods true church". His Word will never pass away. The true church is shrinking but the gates of hell will not prevail against it.
---shirley on 9/7/10

All the false teachings of the ones in the question would be out of business if people didn't actually listen to them. I don't expose my mind to them, not because they may corrupt me but because they are sickening.
---shirley on 9/7/10

Cluny, I know in the past Catherine has posted things which where questionable and hard for others to understand her, or where she is coming from. I don't agree with Catherine on most things.

Cluny, for you to make to comment you did regarding her not feeling well is cruel and uncalled for.

\\Because I don't feel very well today I am not going to look up Scriptures on this however,\\

catherine, since you have posted here, "I don't need no Scriptures", why should today be any different?
---Cluny on 9/6/10

catherine:

Get well soon.

Perhaps you were thinking of Matthew 16:18:
"And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it."
---StrongAxe on 9/6/10

Because I don't feel very well today I am not going to look up Scriptures on this however, there are plenty of them which tells us that the church will never be destroyed. We, the church, are God's friends. It will be God's enemies that will be destroyed, by God....A word about false preachers. I am sure that some of them if backed into a corner, could become very dangerous. I have looked into the eyes of one or two. My skin did some rippling. If their livelihood was in peril, could become dangerous men. Yes.

There are many of you on this blog that I have come to respect, because you are seekers and not merely following programs set up by men, programs called doctrines.
I am going to share with you all one of my greatest fears concerning the church.

Every now and then a False teacher is exposed.
Millions of people have put their trust in these men, and when their teachers are exposed, many of them will turn from God because they have made these men their example of righteousness.
I believe this is the means by which Satan will destroy what remains of the Church.
Picture if you will someone like Billy Graham or the Pope being convicted of Child molestation.
What do you think would happen?
This exposure can only benefit Satan.
---David on 9/6/10

Royal, the passage of scripture you have shared is also a passage I have shared many times, both on and off these blogs. But for some reason there are people WHO JUST DON'T GET IT!

FALSE TEACHERS don't want people to know or get this passage of scripture, because it would reduce and possibly eliminate their ability to PREY ON PEOPLE.

How many times have you ever heard FALSE TEACHERS encourage people to study scripture, 2 Timothy 2:14-19, or to examine scripture to see if what they are teaching is indeed true. Acts 17:11.

FALSE TEACHERS will never, ever tell people they need to study scripture in the "TRUE CONTEXT" which it is written. But they will tell people they need to purchase their CD's, DVD's, a books.
---Rob on 9/5/10

There is only one Gospel and that is what we should all teach.

I am astonished that you are turning away so quickly from the one who called you by the grace of Christ to a different gospel, not that there is a different gospel, except there are some who are disturbing you and wanting to distort the gospel of Christ.
But even if we or an angel from heaven should proclaim a gospel to you contrary to what we proclaimed to you, let him be accursed! As we said before, and now I say again, if anyone is proclaiming a gospel to you contrary to what you have received, let him be accursed!

JOHN 10,5 AND a stranger will they not follow him,for they know not his voice.
---RICHARD on 9/5/10

Kimbe7395:

Exposing dubious practices of many so-called Men of God is not passing judgment. It is merely giving testimony and bearing witness. The judgment that follows is the consequence of natural law that inevitably follows.

Those who place their faith on the trust and gullibility of innocent sheep will find themselves in deep distress when those same sheep turn on them after finding their trust abused.

God does not need to dispense special judgment in such cases: the very nature that such people exploits passes its own judgment on them.

Those who sow the wind eventually reap the whirlwind (see Hosea 8:7).

LG3, what did Jesus do when the people turned the TEMPLE INTO A DEN OF THIEVES?

You also wrote "it is best to tend to what God gave you to do rather than trying to prove someone else false".

Do you know whar scripture tells we are to do regarding FALSE TEACHERS? If you don't know, I will be happy to share the scriptures with you so you can read them for yourself.

Kimbe, you wrote "God don't want us toughing His anointed"

Do you know what it means to be God's Anointed? The reason I ask is because I often hear people say "TOUGH NOT GOD'S ANOINTED" yet they have absolutely no clue what it means..

Lying and Stealing are the devil's character. As ministers of the Gospel, God wants us to be held to a higher standard of excellance and integity. All throughout the N.T., Jesus and Paul give us the standard that we are to live by, and it does not include lying and stealing - we are told to come away from such things. Also included with this is staying away from sexual sins and perversion. There are many ministers today that do not hold to this, and lie, steal, and have sexual sins in their camp. God is NOT pleased with this, and WILL judge it. This is why Christians are labled hypocrites. God said the ax is at the root of the tree, therefore we MUST get sin out of our camps.
---Leslie on 9/4/10

Rob, I don't think you have a complete clue so that goes both ways. Like it says in Acts, if it is of God it will remain. If it is not, it will not. In the meantime, it is best to tend to what God gave you to do rather than waste time trying to prove someone else false.
---LG3 on 9/4/10

The reason and only reason that false teachers survive is because those who should know the truth don't. The reason they don't know is because they won't spend the time and effort to search out the truth.
---Elder on 9/4/10

God don't want us touching His anointed. He will take care all the false teachers on the end. He wants us to pray and put them in His hands, not ours. He anointed them and He will be the one to bring them into punishment. The judgement is left up to God, not us.

No I don't think they should be jailed. The FCC is who they will answer to if they violate any of their rules and until then let God judge them. It's up to every Christian to be read up on their Bible and prayed up so they can hear from God and they will be able to know the true from the false. The Bible says give and receive Luke 6:38 Give and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give unto your bosum. For with the same measure that you mete-give withal it shall be measured to you again. The basic teaching of give and receive from God isn't wrong. What is wrong is the preachers telling the people if they give to them they will receive or it must be a set amount.
---Darlene_1 on 9/4/10

LG3, you say these FALSE TEACHERS provide aid to other countires. Where is the proof?

They won't show proof. When questioned, they tell you how they spend the money they received from you is none of your or anyone elses business. This goes against the IRS 501(c)3 tax code, which is another reason they should be prosecuted. Their financial books are suppose to be open and available for Public Review.

Are you aware of BLUE SCREEN and GREEN SCREEN TECHNOLOGY which these FALSE TEACHERS use? It makes it appear they are in a certain place, doing a certain thing, but in reality they are far from it.

Concerning the gifts you say these people receive, I feel you have no clue as to the manner and methods they use to receive them.
---Rob on 9/4/10

I have often maintained that it is legal stealing....If they are false teachers, yes. However, unbelievers do not know the false from the rrues.

\\ Many of them fund aid to countries who are in famine and build schools and teach the people how to become self-sufficient.\\

At least they demand credit for doing this.

I remember when Jimmy Swaggart was talking about all these hungry nuns and orphans he was feeding through his minstry, for which he solicited alms from his listeners.

However, as it turned out, these were ASSEMBLIES OF GOD charitable missions, and he was simply contributing from his ministry to them.

tom2:

The federal government can't just charge someone "because they are a TV ministry". They have to have evidence of crimes (usually fraud) - for example, mingling of ministry funds and personal funds, promising that donations would go to one project and then using them for something else, tax evasion, etc.

Robert Tilton's encouraged people to send in money with their prayer requests - but investigators later found dumpsters full of 5 tons of such letters where the money had been taken out, but the prayer requests had remained unopened. This is not "Christian ministry". It is pure, unadulterated greed.
---StrongAxe on 9/4/10

So do they, Rob. You are focused on their method of gaining funds instead of the countless numbers of people they have helped. Many of them fund aid to countries who are in famine and build schools and teach the people how to become self-sufficient. I personally do not always agree with the methods of funding, but I do know that some of those luxury items are gifted to them. I make sure I don't hastily and wrongfully judge now since I have done it many times in the past when I thought they bought those items with offerings. The way I deal with it is this: what the Lord says to you, do it. The fact that you don't do it their way and condemn them for it makes it appear you are trusting in the way you do it.
---LG3 on 9/4/10

I believe there have been some that have been charged by the federal government in the past, only because they were tv ministries.

Every so often, I get asked if I "contribute" to these ministries. Same goes for "contributing" to Christian colleges and training schools.

I don't know where some folks came up with the idea that you need to have: 1) a church 2) a TV ministry 3) a radio ministry 4) an Internet ministry 5) a Christian college, etc. etc. to support. The Bible says to support YOUR church.

I believe that supporters of all these "goofy and questionable" ministries are often DECEIVED into thinking that they'll get rich "financially" or "spiritually" from these robbers.

Yes, I believe that they should be prosecuted. And God will surely deal them their "just" reward when it is time.
---Augie on 9/4/10

I feel that if we prosecute one ministry or denomination for claiming something they believe then it opens the door for all religion to be under prosecution. Here in America we have the special privilege of FREEDOM OF RELIGION. & FREEDOM OF SPEECH. That simply means you are free to speak of your beliefs. However, it's up to the individual to accept what they're saying. If it turns out they were wrong it's should be a hard lesson learned. They should not be legally prosecuted for teaching they're religious beliefs & you wanting to get blessed financially so you send them money. You were greedy & it didn't pay off. Mistakes are made everyday. Learn from it & move on.
---Reba on 9/4/10

How about how > I < may be cheating people, by not loving them the way God wants?

"For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God, and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?" (1 Peter 4:17)

So, the ones who are right get judged "first". In which case, why is the attention of judging going to TBN etc., if they are the wrong ones? How about first pointing at how we ourselves are wrong, if we are really the right ones . . . who get judged "first"?
---Bill_bila5659 on 9/4/10

I challenge and encourage you along with others to start a petition and get enough signatures in your respective States to have this matter placed on the ballot.

LG3, I have never casted out demons or raised the dead, Mark 16:17-18. For me to say I have would be a lie.

I have only healed the sick because I have Medical Schooling.

Even though English is my native tongue, I have spoken in the following tongues. Spanish, Korean, German, Hebrew, Greek, and Tagalog.

In 1976, I found myself standing face to face with an King Cobra Snake (the most deadliest snake in the world). The snake struck at me but I am still alive to tell about it.

If these FALSE TEACHERS want to prove they are legitimate and are of God, why don't they prove it by drinking deadly poison or handling deadly snakes at their so called healing and miracle cruisades? I do have a Cobra I keep at my home.

If they make actual concrete promises (such as "Every dollar you give to this ministr, God will repay tenfold") in order to solicit funds, and those promises are unfulfilled, that could be considered fraud. However, remember that these big evanglists also run large organizations that have teams of accountants to tally up offerings, and teams of lawyers to tell them just what they have to and don't have to disclose, and to tell them just what they can and can't say on the air. They probably know just what words to use to make something sound like a legally binding promise without actually being one.

Proclaiming the Gospel is one thing.

Twisting the Bible to make claim, "If you give me 10 dollars, God will give you 100," is what St. Paul condemned as making merchandise of the Gospel.

But this is a problem as old as the NT itself.

1 Tim 6
5Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

6But godliness with contentment is great gain.

Rob, this may not be a bad idea. This might keep people from being false teachers, and wanting your money to bless them. If you really admit it, what some of them teach about when they ask you to send $100 so God will give you $1 million, and then pocket it and buy nice cars, suits, and houses, this is fraud. If someone in the world did this, they would be charged with fraud, why should ministers be treated any different. I'm not saying thay all minister that ask for money in the form of offerings are like this, but some are. The ones that are like this, hurt people and turn them off to God and even make them hate God and want nothing to do with Him. As ministers, we should make people want God, not hate Him.

LG3, I have been ministering to people with THE TRUE GOSPEL OF CHRIST for over 24 years.

Through these years I also have been helping and giving to the poor (coultless times with money from my own pocket). Besides ministering, I also work a regular job to earn my keep through making an honest living, 2 Corinthians 12:14-17.

I am not like these FALSE TEACHERS who bring a Gospel which is different from the Gospel of Christ, Galatians 1:6-10.

I do not prey on, or con the poor and others out of their money, 2 Peter Chapter Two.

Why not? They're CROOKS, aren't they? That's what happened to Jim Bakker....an' many people thought that he got what he deserved. "If you do the crime, you do the time." applies to the Church, too. Do you think GOD will judge His people, or those who are called by His name, any less severely than those of the world? When His people SHOULD know better? The Scriptures state that Judgment starts at the House of GOD. Then, afterwards, are those of the world judged. GOD chastens those He loves. The difference will be whether or not the malefactors will truly repent as a result, and then do what is right before the Eyes of GOD.

Rob, you really do spend too much time criticizing other ministries who don't agree with what you think. Are you ministering to people, healing the sick, casting out devils, raising the dead, speaking with new tongues? If you are giving your time to that, then you must have more than 24 hours alotted to you in a day to have the time to also spend searching out ministries you can criticize and then spending all this time here making your opinion public. Those who preach the gospel have a right to the carnal things of those who hear if they so choose to exercise that right. It does cost money to air, even if you don't agree with the method used.
