StrongAxe, that is true. I stopped at a Krystal on a trip once....same state I live in....and ordered like I commonly do at home. I was surprised when the cashier gave me the total and I repeated the order to make sure she got everything. The total was almost 2 dollars less than it would have been at home.....and the food was waaaaayyyy better, all of it hot and fresh. If I ate at Krystal's really often, that may have been worth moving over.

Most fast food restaurants are not owned by the chains themselves, but are independently-owned and operated franchises. I have often found that fast food quality is dependent mostly on where the restaurant is located. Years ago I noticed one area where every fast food restaurant would almost always make at least one mistake in my food order, and I have since noticed other areas like that, while other areas always do things correctly. These seem to be related to demographics (i.e. more upscale areas tend to make fewer mistakes).

So food quality may depend somewhat on the suppliers (that are controlled by the chains), but much more on the diligence of the franchise owners, and the worker demographics.

I kind of figured it was something like that, however I got more free stuff off the fry boxes and medium drinks. The exclusion of the Big Mac is not near as upsetting as the quality of that angus swiss and mushroom burger. Next to the "stale bun" Big Mac I had two weeks before, it was the most disappointing burger I had ever eaten. Five mushrooms, a very very thin slice of swiss, a dry bun, a spot of mayo in the center, and a cold burger...what less could I have asked for? Makes me want to go right out and BUY one. I jest.
---Linda on 11/2/10

The reason why the "big beef burger" prize excludes Big Macs is probably because the Big Mac is the only burger that came with game pieces - they didn't want you redeeming one game piece for a free sandwich, only to get several more free game pieces in return. With a 1 in 4 chance of getting a prize, and 2 game pieces per box, that would give you a 50/50 chance of winning ANOTHER prize immediately.

Alan, you got it, but in the code after the 2nd marquee, you forgot to replace the ) with >. And the last (/b) also needs replaced with the < and >, in order to properly display.
---Eloy on 11/1/10

Ta Eloy!!!

---alan8566_of_uk on 11/1/10

Alan, you have to replace each parenthesis ( ) in the code with the less than & greater than signs < > in order for the code to work.

Linda, live and learn. I have learned when I get those free promotions and discount coupons in the mail to just throw them away: it is liberating to just throw them all away, and then if you ever go to Burger King to just order what you want and not be bound by any of their prescribed coupons.
---Eloy on 10/31/10

Grrrrrrrrr. Won a free "any large beef burger except the Big Mac" playing Monopoly at McD's. No.1. Why not the Big is the cheapest large burger on the menu (and my favorite). No.2. Why did the MUSHROOM SWISS angus burger I got have one little thin slice of swiss on it and 5 (yes five) mushrooms? No.3. Why was my burger dried out? It was a "special order burger". No.4. Why does the quality of all their food drop dramatically when they do the Monopoly promotion? Just two weeks ago, I got a Big Mac. The bun was so dried out it was almost inedible. It was so noticeable, I could tell it as soon as I picked it up. Wishing now I had just got a TV dinner. What I got was not worth the calories.
---Linda on 10/31/10

Alan, Here is the code, just replace the parenthesis ( ) with the less than & greater than signs < >:

Darline, thanks again for your prayers for others. This is only to encourage you to continue what you have been doing even though sometimes you might want to give up. I'm sorry so many are sick especially the sister with breast cancer. As I told you about my list, I will put her in my list as well. We do thank God for the time He has given them and pray for more time. We look at things a little different then God I know, but it is because we care to continue to have these people with us. And the pain it would be to the families if they leave us.
Trish, prayers for you too and also Catherine for losing her husband. I pray that God in some way saved him, for no one knows the heart of another, only God.
---Mark_V. on 10/28/10

I am amazed how well I am doing. Lost my husband of 41 years, Oct. 3, 2010. Must be aware, God had been preparing me for my husband's fate, for a long time, yes, preparing me. We don't know what lies ahead, God does.....He knew the moment that He saved me, June 2000, what lied ahead for me and Joe. Joe was lost. I prayed for him right up until he past away, yet, God did not choose to save him. I am very sorry about that....Pretty much in seclusion, now. Time to get to know God better. Don't have a clue what God will do next in my own life. I have been through hell and back. God>>>His Power, helps actually, it's everything to me.
---catherine on 10/28/10

Hi Trish ... Sorry to hear you've been in hospital, but pleased thata they seem you have the situation under control. Keep well in touch with the medics, and do what they say!

We have missed yo here. Keep posting now you are back!

God bless
---alan8566_of_uk on 10/27/10

I would appreciate prayer. I just got out of the hospital, where I was treated for a blood clot in my lung, and pneumonia. Because of a clotting disorder, I will have to be on coumadin for life, and have my levels checked weekly. Please pray we get my coumadin up to a therapeutic level soon.

God worked in a mighty way, and I went to the ER and got diagnosed quickly.

Please pray for husbands niece, who had cancer treated and cleared up but now she has it again. They've put her on Chemo. This is a commited Christian, and a wonderful person. We are expecting a miracle. Also pray for my friend. We met in 3rd grade and have been close ever since. She has had cancer 3 different times with about 20 to 30 years between the 1st and 2nd bouts but she thought she had licked them both until they found breast cancer spread to the lung. For 3 years she has had lung cancer and treatment has kept it from progressing but she says today she is having trouble with her chest, waiting for the doctors call. She is a faith walking commited Christian who very much believes in miracles. She is a great person with much faith.

Leon, Amen! I just heard a short while ago that one miner said God was down there with them. Another miner said the Devil and God were down there with them but God won. I know I was praying for them and I am sure people all over the world were also praying.

Remove the spaces in the first set of <>

< font color=blue >This text is blue

This text is blue

< font color=green >This text is green
This text is green

< font color=yellow >This text is yellow
This text is yellow

See, it is Simple

But tedious

marquee behavior="scroll" direction="left">Your scrolling text goes here/marquee>

remember to put the 'less than' sign at the beginning and right after 'here'..

Once again remove the spaces. This is combined with the < font color > command as well

< marquee >< font color = red>Testing....marquee....testing< /font color >< /marquee >

Bruce ... Thanks for that.

I will have a go!

Well ... I managed subscript aand superscript.

But I can't do colour or marquee!

I know Eloy knows how to do marquee! and I've seen colour here too, so I know they can be done
---alan8566_of_uk on 10/8/10

If you do a search for HTML formating you will find all kinds of helpful websites that will show you how to do the marqee and color etc. You already know how to do the basic bold, italic etc. It is pretty much the same except instead of the b or i you use something else. Have a look :)
---Bruce5656 on 10/8/10

aka ... but how do you do it?

Alan of UK..................................................................................................................................................I am your father!
---aka on 10/7/10

Kevin ... It definitely will not work if you try top copy and paste from a document prepared in you other systems. You will lose any formatting such as underlining or bold.

You've got the bold! Mark & Bruce have explained how to do underling or italics. As Bruce has shown you can combine.

mark gives me the credit for introducing him to this skill ... maybe I did, but I learnt it from someone else here .... can't remember who!

You can also do colour, but I've never got to grips with that, or marquee (where the words move!!!)
---alan8566_of_uk on 10/7/10

Kev, now put < > with a U in the inside and you will get an underline. and when you want the underline to end put < > with a /U in the inside and it will end where you put that. I'm not good at this but know a little when Alan, I think, posted that help. Enjoy
---MarkV. on 10/5/10

Thanks. That was a great help.

I'm going to try it now and see how it goes.

It's working!

Does anyone know how to bring bold/underlined words into the posts?

You use simple HTML commands. You can do a search for them. You can change things you mentioned as well as color, spacing and even make things move!

Here is an examplel of making bold letters.

(You need to remove the spaces I am putting in)

< b > This is bold < / b>

Looks like this

This is bold

i = italic
u = underline

The commands may be combined like this

< b > < u > < i > This is bold and underlined and italic< /i > < / u > < / b >

This is bold and underlined and italic
---Bruce5656 on 10/5/10

Kevin, Alan and some others have taught us how to and can explain it better then I can. But it is very helpful to know and you don't have to do it from Microsof. Just from the way you write. Hope they can help you.

Tom2 that rings a bell with me,my son and daughter have been hunting a little less than you they began at age 5 and are 52 & 54 years old and my husband a lot longer. I used to hunt and my family still does so we all looked forward to deer hunting season. Its really a big deal in my family because we have a comfortable cabin at the pasture land we've leased over 30 years, then several have campers and its a family get together time for them. In fact its so important to all the hunters several years ago I suggested we have Thanksgiving dinner there so they don't miss the early morning hunt that day and now that is a tradition. Right now the hunters are into dove hunting while in season. Happy hunting and may you have a good harvest.
