Heart Is Deceitful And Wicked
Scripture says, the heart is deceitful and wicked, and our mind is corrupt until it is transformed by the Word of God. What other parts of our bodies, does the bible address and what does it say about it? Our will? Our emotions? Our thoughts? Our eyes? Our mouth?

WILL=== John 6:38, "For I came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of Him that sent Me". EYE===In the Bible is often described symbolically. "Evil eye", describes envy, "Wanton eyes" mean pride, eyes full of adultery is symbolic of lust, the lust of eyes mean earthly temptation. EARS==="Even to His ear" symbolizes that God hears prayer, as opposed to idols, which cannot hear [Psa. 18:6]...A Scripture: "HE DEVISETH MISCHIEF UPON HIS BED:.. In the night when God-fearing men are in innocent slumber and meditating on the goodness of God, the wicked man, with the devil for his bedfellow, lies awake devising wicked schemes against others". [Psa. 36:4].

scripture also says if our hand sins then cut it off, drastic wouldn,t you say?I believe its meant to get our attention ,not that we should literally do it. More interesting is scripture about being judged for every idol word, and even more every thought. Now actually by scripture and all of our hearts being deceitful, wicked, and full of darkness,we all need to understand that without jesus thats what we are,it is with him, being born again, and then following him that we are no longer in bondage to the sin that does this to us.

If the Pentecostal churches are correct in their teaching on tongues, all other denominations are thus false teachers.
If the catholic church is correct in their teaching about purgatory, all other denomination are false teachers.
If the JW are correct in their teaching about jesus not being God, then all other denomination are wrong
two denominations cannot each teach different things on the same subject and both be correct.
Either both are wrong, or one is right and the other wrong. But both cannot have different teachng and both also be correct.
the reason why we go to one church and not the other, is mainly because we think the other is in error, and the other thus thinks the same of us.

Now I think of how the heart pumps blood to the body. Blood comes out of the heart. And Jesus says that things come out of the heart. I see that He is using the physical heart to represent how things of our core spiritual character are getting pumped all through us and our words and actions. And Jesus does say, "out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks," in Matthew 12:34.
So, I'd say Jesus uses physical parts of the body to represent spiritual things in us.

//just look at the 2000+ christian denominations, only 1/2000 can be right.//
This is exactly WHY there are so many denominations.
Who says only 1 denomination has all the right answers? Only the person who believes they are IN that 1 perfect denomination. Thats who.
Noone has it ALL figured out. We're all a part of the "body" of Christ and we are supposed to depend on each another, but everyone wants to be the head and noone the pinky toe. Thats where the problem comes in.

Another example of the heart being deceitful above all.
Colossians 2:21 (Touch not, taste not, handle not,
Colossians 2:22 Which all are to perish with the using,) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
Notice that this texts says touch not... AFTER THE COMMANDMENTS OF DOCTRINE OF MAN.
DO NOT confuse and mix the doctrine of MAN with the doctrine of God.
God doctrine says: 2 Corinthians 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and TOUCH NOT the unclean [thing], and I will receive you,
Leviticus 11:7 And the swine, though he divide the hoof, and be clovenfooted, yet he cheweth not the cud, he [is] unclean to you.

Jas 3:7-10 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by mankind, but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse people who are made in the likeness of God. From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.
In this modern age of electronic communications on the internet, you can replace tongue with fingertips and miss the meaning of these verses.

\\just look at the 2000+ christian denominations, only 1/2000 can be right. For the rest, what they believe seem right to them, they believe it with all their hearts, but it is sin.

That's why I'm a member of the only PRE-denominational Church in the world, francis.
We don't reduce the Gospel of Christ to "touch not, taste not, handle not" (or its corrollary, "dance not, drink not, smoke not") like you do, because, as the Bible says, the "Kingdom of God is NOT meat and drink."

Donna, after saying the heart is deceitful and wicked (Jeremiah 17:9), you say "What other parts of the body . . . ?" I would say "the heart" that God is talking about, here, is not part of our human physical body. And the "mind" that Paul speaks of in his messages is not our physical brain. But he says, "and be renewed in the spirit of your mind." (Ephesians 4:23) So, the mind and heart God is talking about is not physical in our bodies, but in our spirit. "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind." (2 Timothy 1:7) So, having a truly sound mind is a spiritual thing of God's Holy Spirit.

\\Nooooooooooooo I don't Cluny.
I know what the heart means in this scripture...the very core being of us\\
The way you phrased your question sounded like you were confusing the meaning in this verse, especially in your sentence "What other parts of our bodies....."
(BTW--are you aware that "core" is taken from the Latin "cor" meaning heart?)

Proverbs 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Some of the things that we believe in our hearts to be true and right, are actually wrong.
just look at the 2000+ christian denominations, only 1/2000 can be right. For the rest, what they believe seem right to them, they believe it with all their hearts, but it is sin.

Nooooooooooooo I don't Cluny.
I know what the heart means in this scripture...the very core being of us.
But I was trying to get us to see how each of our body parts was mentinoed in the bible and what it says about it.
Renew your MIND.
The Heart is deceitful.
If you EYE causes you to sin, pluck it out.
See how this works Cluny? LOL

Do you actually think that "heart" here means the circulatory organ that pumps blood, Donna?
