By taking on baptism according to the second chapter of Acts.

I fully support Donna5535 use of Scripture in the final atonement of Christ for His people. It was His death on the cross through the shedding of His blood that washed away the sins of His people.
And scripture also declares: "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:" (Philippians 2:5-9)

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live.
And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.
I think its the moment that we trust in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

//Is there a scripture that clearly answers this question?//
Rev 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
Rev 7:14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
//How does one become washed in the Blood of the Lamb?//
Believe on the True Jesus Christ. He will take over from there.

God is a spirit, and therefore does not have blood, catherine.
So you are deluded.
But you are right that God excepted--that is, did NOT accept--the blood of animals, because if they could have sufficed to take away sin, there would have been no need for Jesus.

I don't know exactly about the Scriptures in this. I have experience. I felt God's Blood washing me, when I got saved. Here is what I will give you, today.....Back in the days of the Old Testament, in the sacrifice, God excepted the Blood of the animals atonement for sin. John called Jesus the "Lamb of God"...[John 1:29, Leviticus 4,5,16, and Exodus 12]...Is. 53:7, Who bore the sins of many. And Isa. 53:12.

All these, of course, are metaphors--metonymies, to be exact (the part for the whole).
Even the expression "blood of the Lamb" is one, except for our direct access to It through the Holy Eucharist.

At some point after salvation a person becomes conscious of their sins and the fact that these sins have been and are being forgiven.
After which one realizes that they want the blood of Jesus Christ to wash over them. In my own particular case I asked the Lord Jesus Christ to scrub me good with his perfect precious blood. And he did.

How does one become washed in the Blood of the Lamb? Is there a scripture that clearly answers this question?
Exodus 24:8 And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled [it] on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words.
Here is the key text on washed in thebllod.
Leviticus 4:6 And the priest shall dip his finger in the blood, and sprinkle of the blood seven times before the LORD, before the vail of the sanctuary.
this action caused the sin of the people to be cleansed by theblood of the lamb
Hebrews 12:24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than [that of] Abel.

"Washed in the Blood of the Lamb" Is one of those expressions we use to describe having our sins forgiven by the sacrifical death of Christ. It picks up on the sentiments expressed in these verses along with ones like those quoted by Donna below:
Revelation 7:14, "And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."
Psalms 51:7, "Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow."

Ephesians 1:7 - In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace,
Hebrews 9:14 - How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Hebrews 13:12 - Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
1 John 1:7 - But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
