Teachers With Seared Conscience

The many FALSE TEACHERS that you see on TBN and DAYSTAR have been telling and spreading their lies for so long, do you believe their conscience have become so seared, 1 Timothy 4:1-2, that they actually believe their own lies and each others lies?

1 Tim. 4:1-4 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils, Speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their conscience seared with a hot iron, Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

In the time of this epistle it was those who were retreating into asceticism forbidding marriage, and of the eating of certain foods that had seared conscience.

While I do not see much of that kind of things on TBN, I believe many have as their motivation the promotion of their ego and the hungry for money and power.

I don't consider Joel Osteen is a preacher of the "GOSPEL". But I think any Christian should be able to hold their Bible and say "this is my Bible, I am what it says I am, I have what it says I have, and I can do what it says I can do."

No false doctrine in this statement.

What someone teaches me about "what I am", "what I have", "what I can do"
may be, and often is, false doctrine.

Teachers with seared conscience: well, I've got a good one here. There are plenty of them out there teaching lies and evolution. Hallelujah. You know that there will be more and more people going to hell because of the teachings of evolution. People that are helping these people into hell is going to receive the worse of it. [the teachers, and promoters]. Hell. That is, "they shall receive the worse of it".

It is totaly disgusting how these "FALSE TEACHERS" prey on those who are experiencing hardship. Out of their "GREED" and for "THEIR OWN PERSONAL GAIN", they also exploit those who are living in poverty.

They all "DESERVE DEATH" and those who defend and support these "FALSE TEACHERS" also "DESERVE DEATH", Romans 1:28-32.

A perfect example of a FALSE TEACHER" with a seared conscience is Joel Olsteen.

Have you noticed he starts off telling people "this is my Bible, I am what it says I am, I have what it says I have, and I can do what it says I can do.

But when Joel Olsteen preaches, he does not use the Bible. This is a perfect example of what is written in Colossians 2:8.

T.D. Jakes is also a person who has mastered using vain philosophy and hypnosis to deceive people.

I am longing for the day when people will take to heart what is written in 2 Corinthans 11:13-15, and 2 Peter Chapter Two.

For t b n & d - star very much free will. These "FALSE TEACHERS" tell people if they want receive a blessing from God they must first "SOW A SEED" (send them money). I wonder how many people know this is in direct contradiction of what is written in scripture.

I wonder how many people know if they support or defend these FALSE TEACHERS" in any way, they are supporting and defending the work of Satan.

If peole knew the BIBLE, they would know they will instead of receiving a BLESSING FROM GOD they are CURSED BY GOD.

Donna66:

It's comforting to know that I was not alone in being "taken advantage of" -- or something like that -- by these jerks.

I've tried sharing my bad experiences with other Christians. I thought that I could TRUST them. Was I sorry!

Many seemed to "jump on me" and criticize my being "weak". Others told me that I "should have known better". Shame on me!

I assume that my critics learned some of their un-Christian tactics from TBN or one of the Holier-Than-Thou televangelists that later fell into sin.

Negative, degrading criticism is from Satan, the Devil.

The Seg -- It's happened to me a time or two, as well...in a moment of weakness. (Thank God for the "three day right of refusal"...it's saved me a lot of money.) But I'm quick to realize when I've been "had" and I admit it.
---Donna66 on 11/11/10

I've noticed that there are some people who are just easily led (or mis-led)...and whatever ideas they adopt, they throw themselves into it full force...whether it is Amway, health fads, financial products or...a Christian teaching. They frequently go to extremes. That just seems to be their nature.

Then whoever "sold" them on the product goes away richer and still looking for new followers.

---Donna66 on 11/11/10

I hate to admit that I was a SUCKER -- or misled victim -- of many of these idiots.

Once I had made my donation, and the check cashed, or purchased an Amway start-up kit for $450, and failed at selling anything, etc. -- my trust in my mentors / teachers / trainers was completely shattered.

Cluny--- // A lot of the white-collar crimes that occur might be a result of copying these religious liars. \\

I think vice versa. White collar crimes are rampant in organizations where it's likely no one watches "Christian" TV.

---Donna66 on 11/11/10

Examples of both "Christian" and "White Collar" crimes:

Televangelists [Jim Bakker, others]
Corporations [ENRON, Banks, etc.]
Ponzi Schemes [Bernie Maddor, Tom Petters]
Chain Letter scams
Medicare Fraud

Lots of other examples that I missed. Any ideas?

Rob:

I do not watch TBN or any religious TV channel mainly for the reason you mention, false teaching.

2 Peter 2 tell us that these false teachers will seduce people out of their own greed. It also tells us that their last state is worse than their first state, which was unbelief. These false teachers are lost, sinners returning to their sin as a sow returns to the mire, because they have denied the Master who bought them.

These false teachers are easily spotted by believers familiar with the Word of God. Alas, this familiarity with the Bible is what most believers today are lacking and explains why these false teachers persist.

They are not ill-intended. However, these people are not deep thinkers.
They do not have a desire to know details. And sooner or later (often sooner) their ardor cools. (Compare to the seed sown in shallow soil Mtt 13:5-6). But before long they will find something else.

Then whoever "sold" them on the product goes away richer and still looking for new followers.

Rob,

Many folks LET themselves be deceived.

My former friend, and myself, ended up parting ways. We disagreed about financially supporting TBN, Radio ministries, Internet ministries, etc. Sometimes, I wonder if this guy was an undercover agent trying to solicit donors for these "very questionable" ministries. I've had the same experiences with Amway distributors, Insurance agents, Credit Card offers, etc.

I've learned that it all comes down to PEOPLE looking out for themselves. In the USA, we have more freedom to "spread the Bible", market things, etc. Unfortunately, that has also led to a lot of not-so-good stuff, like TBN, Amway, and unncessary insurance stuff, money scams, etc.

FORGET TV, what about the many false Teasers, Preachers, that are in homes, and in the churches. Yes, these wicked men and women's conscience are so seared, that they really believe that they have escaped hell.... Some don't care because they are getting filthy rich in telling everyone smooth massages. And, oh, how they can smile while you are passing around the money plate. Oh, if only you could see their hearts, the way God can see the heart. You poor people would be demanding your money BACK. Poor, poor, unsuspecting foolish people, you go ahead and keep doing what you are doing, pay these rotten, no good, false preachers, and teachers, Ha. ha. Hee.

I don't think they've ever been taught sound doctrine to start with.
---Cluny on 11/10/10

I don't know Rob. Not ALL are false teachers and some may be in error as opposed to deliberately lying.

If you really believe in prosperity gospel you don't believe its a lie.

Saq, I don't know how old you are, but I am getting up in age where I can be considered a Senior Citizen.

You made some good points that I myself had not thought about or considered. I thank you for sharing them, 1 Timothy 4:12.

Now, I am wondering how many people on these blogs will take to heart, and how many people will ignore what you have shared.
---Rob on 11/10/10

Yes, I believe that they are believing, and living, out their own lies.

The same goes for many Televangelists, Traveling Evangelists, Missionaries, Lawyers, Politicians, and PEOPLE in general.

Some of these folks are REAL. Teaching, Preaching, and Living the truth. However, many become slaves to their own sins. In both Churches and Business.

Like I've stated in other blogs, I don't watch TBN. I've lost a few friends over arguments about what goes on at TBN. A lot of the white-collar crimes that occur might be a result of copying these religious liars.

The Bible warns us that "bad company corrupts good morals". It is up to TBN viewers to beware!
