Demon Speaks Through Husband

I was wondering if it would be possible for a demon to speak through someone while they were asleep. Last night my husband in his sleep said My name is? I don't know the name because it was Latin or some other language. It was not his voice either, very scary sounding voice.

I guess you will need a voice activated recorder to catch the abrupt words of talking while asleep. Then watch the movie, "The Exorcist" wherein a priest seeks to cast out a devil. In that movie, the possessed girl speaks fluently in Latin.

Yes, I knew that after your response (which is why I said "seemed" rather than "seem"). I was just explaining the reasoning behind my original response,

I think we're both choking on gnats. Someone call a paramedic!

YOU were the one who seemed upset that some blogs seem fake.---StrongAxe on 8/8/16

You know I wasn't upset from my past postings.

I was speaking to the Moderator with my question taking a risk they wouldn't be upset with me.

You were the one jumping to their side as IF I WAS UPSET.

Again, if they are not upset about my question why are you acting as IF I shouldn't have asked the question?

My question is okay. I explained why I asked the question with my true thinking and perceived motives.

Are you suggesting I should not have asked them and until to believe some of the blogs on fake?

They convinced me they are not false by them posting my question.

Nicole_Lacey:

Who said I was upset? YOU were the one who seemed upset that some blogs seem fake.

My issue with this blog (and several others) is blogs that went dormant for 5+ years, and somebody new posts to them, and others continue to reply directly to people who are no longer here.

Posting my question proves most likely the blogs are from real people.

Given some of the things that seem to be allowed on here, even when they grossly violate the site's stated policies, suggests that much of the moderation is done automatically, without human intervention (i.e. either robots do it, or moderators do it without paying attention).

Mostly likely he or she was a real person.

You seem upset with my question?

I am sure I am not the first person questioning some of these blog.

If the Moderators were not upset, why are you?

Posting my question proves most likely the blogs are from real people.

They (Moderators) don't have anything to hide so they posted my statement.

It's a free Country. It's okay.

Every blog here shows the person who initiated it. You can look them up and see what other blogs they have started, or other blogs they have commented on. If any moderators fraudulently attributed a blog or comment to someone who didn't make it, you can bet that person would complain. One might have reason to suspect if an extremely controversial topic is posted by someone who has never posted before.

I hope I don't upset you Moderator, but sometime I believe some of these blogs are made up so it can kick off a good debate.

Are real people asking these questions?

Can't the Moderator just admit he or she is asking the question (if it is a question from a Moderator) and signing it 'Moderator'?

Lacy if you or someone has the same concern, call a Priest.

The devil will bring havoc to you and your whole household 24/7.

This question was asked almost 6 years ago, and nobody had posted on it for almost that long, until this week. Lacy never even posted since she asked the question, so it's not clear if she was even paying attention 6 years ago. I doubt she is doing so now.

How do you know a demon doesn't speak through YOU, Lacey?

Most of us don't sound like ourselves when we talk and mutter in our sleep or while waking up.

Don't worry about it. The main message of the Gospels from the Annunciation onwards is "Fear not!"

Glory to Jesus Christ!
---Cluny on 8/1/16

Do not be afraid of sleep talking in another language. Reference your bible. You are speaking to God directly.

Romans 8:26 ESV

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words
---Angel on 8/1/16

Lacy, do you have the gift of discerning of spirits? I do. But it's only when the Holy Spirit quickens me that "that's a demon" do I know it's a demon speaking through a person or the person himself speaking.

It doesn't happen often, but I've had demons manifest through people usually dialating the pupils of their eyes and then I see them leering at me. I once had my ex-husband, in the middle of the night, pop right up and say to me, "I'm going to kill you." My response was, "I bind you satan in Jesus name, now go back to sleep."

Ask Father God, Jesus and Holy Spirit to give you wisdom and understanding on this, okay? ONLY THEY can reveal the TRUTH of what's happening through your husband.

\\While two demons were being cast out
of me in church, they spoke and said
"we can come out of him and kill you now"!
---Michael on 11/21/10\\

And this pertains to sleep-talking just how?

In any case, the devil is a liar.

BTW--Correction: the world is spelled

SOMNILOQUENCE.

Obviously, it's not a word used in normal reading or conversation, but it IS called a parasomnia--sleep disturbance akin to sleepwalking.

I just did some checking.

There is a sleep disorder called somnoloquence--talking in one's sleep.

There's also a funny blog site from a woman who posts the things her husband says in his sleep. Sorry I can't give you the site!

\\You husband could be possessed.

We know catherine is.

Lacy: Cluny is giving you good advice. Also, if you remember the sound of the name your husband gave, perhaps you could spell it phonetically, and one of the scholars on this site might recognize it.
---jerry6593 on 11/21/10

Yes, it is possible. You husband could be possessed.

When someone is talking in their sleep you can't always understand everything being said because the words are muffled or not spoken clearly. And then they don't always make sense either. One night when our daughter was young, she & I were sitting up reading a book together in the bedroom & my husband was sleeping in the bed where I was sitting. He started talking so we listened & he said, "Get me the screwdriver, it's in the car next to the water fountain". We got so tickled & tried to keep him talking but he got awake from our laughing. So when talking in your sleep things don't make complete sense most of the time.:-}
---Reba on 11/20/10

BTW--if this is the first and ONLY time your husband has talked in his sleep, it's obviously not anything to worry about.

Though should this continue, or other things such as thrashing around or sleepwalking, it could indicate a serious sleep disturbance.

Check for a medical reason FIRST if this continues.
---Cluny on 11/20/10

Don't look for demons in everything different or strange. Cluny gave you some good advice. My son talked in his sleep from childhood and he does have the sleep apnea. He doesn't sleep with the machine because he has his Black Lab sleeping with him and he checks on him at night and licks his face to wake him when he sops breathing. Aka's advice about seeking God in this is good advice too. Pray for God to lead you and not to let you get upset that doesn't do either of you any good. Pray for God's answer also get your husband to a sleep clinic to be tested to see if he has the sleep apnea,it can be bad on a person. They don't rest good at night and get up feeling tired. Pray for peace.
---Darlene_1 on 11/20/10

Most of us sound strange when we first wake up.

Some people talk in their sleep. I knew someone who babbled all night long.

If he suffers from sleep apnea, that means he's not breathing properly in his sleep, which would affect any somnolent mutterings.

I'd check him for sleep apnea before checking him for demons.

lacy,

on this site and everywhere else you will get many varying opinions. this is a question that you should present to the Lord first. Search the scripture, keep it in context, and then the Spirit will give you an answer through others.

Remember to test every spirit in including the answers that you get from here. the test is in the Word of the Lord and not in man's brilliance.

may the Lord give you the answer soon through somebody in the Spirit of the Lord.
