ROMANS 1:7 For therein is the righteousness of GOD revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
ROMANS 5:1 Therfore being justified by faith, we have peace with GOD through our LORD JESUS CHRIST.

EPHESIANS 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith: and not of yourselves: It is a gift of GOD. ( We are saved by CHRIST faith. Our faith is a work we do, and can not save us)
---RICHARD on 2/13/11

faith is believing God is going to do something before He ever does it.
---shira3877 on 2/12/11

Faith in God is believing what comes from within Him-

His Word.

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

I really liked what Allan has to say in answer to this question.
---mima on 1/29/11

It is belief, trust, dependence, reliance, confidence in, having total assurance, not doubting, knowing, obeying, following, and living for Jesus Christ.
---Eloy on 1/29/11

Fiath in God:
Is the complete dependence on the ability of God to always work on your behalf.
---Allan on 1/29/11

I love what pastor James MacDonald writes about this in his book Always True: 'Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word
of God' (Romans 10:17 njkv). The more you believe that Gods Word
holds life and truth, the more your faith in God will grow."

Faith in God is just knowing God will do it before you ask.

I see a lot of people turning the word faith in a work.

Doesnt the Bible say that faith is not a work? (Romans 4:5)

Wouldnt it be something to discover that simply trusting in Gods promises thru Jesus Christ is enough to empower you to live for God freely instead of out of fear of condemnation?
---CraigA on 1/8/11

Faith in God extends past written word. To have faith is to have a sound relationship with God. You recognize Him as the Almighty. As humans we have a habit of losing our faith when something goes wrong instead of trusting or knowing He will carry us through. I have had many experiences in my life in which God always reminds me that He knows I will always do right by Him. Having faith is never turning on Him. He never turns on us. Faith is also in our actions. It is the relationship with have with God not just something we do.

Belief in God means belief that he exist, and believe that he will do all that he says he will.

Faith in God means you have been granted the privilege and honor of SEEING Him. When a person see's God for who He is....faith, which is trust acted out, follows naturally.
---L_Will on 12/3/10

Exactly L_Will, and no one can see God except they come through Jesus Christ.

"What exactly does "Faith in God", mean?"
'For me' it means holding complete unwavering confidence in the Word, principles, and promises of the Father. Believing, in the sense of reliance, trust, adherence, and dependence, upon the fact that His Word is Truth, and the principles He has set forth for life is that which is most conducive to life. Being fully persuaded that what He has promised, He is both willing and able to perform.

The Word of Faith movement doesn't teach "trust and obey", but "lust" (for things) and "say" it's God's will.

If you are well and content with what you have--- you will never fit in with with the Word of Faith folks.
---Donna66 on 12/2/10

we are told to trust & obey but what about the word of faith movement? isn't word of faith movement have misled many? if word of faith tells us to trust & obey how come many are misled?
we have to have knowledge too bec. many preachers exploit 'trust & obey' and many stumble or obey blindly
---mike on 12/2/10

Believing and obeying Jesus Almighty.
---Eloy on 12/2/10

Donna66 ... Yes that too.

My point was that there are many things which say that Christianity is based on something impossible. There is so much thrown at us which shows there cannot be a God.

So sometime in our life we have surely wondered whether ... ?

True faith I beleive is to have Faith in spite of all that.

But acting in trust of God is a demonstration of that Faith.

Faith means trust. Its as simple as that.

Its not just an intellectual acknowledgement that God exists (because the devils even have that) but that He can be trusted to do that which He promises to do.

I often think of a child stuck up in a tree and his father is saying "Jump! Ill catch you!" Unbelief is not jumping because youre afraid your father will move and let you fall. Faith is actually jumping off the roof because you know your father will catch you.

---David on 12/1/10

alan8566_of_uk-- I would say further, it is "acting on the basis of trust in God, instead of doubt.""
---Donna66 on 11/30/10

there are all kinds of faith. But real faith In God is through Jesus Christ.

You can't do anything without Christ no matter how much faith you say you have in God. I can do all things through CHRIST who stengthens me.

How about "Faith is believing in spite of doubt"?
---alan8566_of_uk on 11/30/10

To add to my last statement, that faith = trust and obey God - Many people think it is just good enough to trust God, but we leave out the obedience part, which is also part of faith.
---Leslie on 11/30/10

Faith is utter dependence on God, upon His presence and His power. Faith puts God between you and the enemy.

Faith is believing without doubting, seeking without giving up,trusting completely. It is the substance of things hoped for,the evidence of things not seen. It is the cord which connects us to our power source,God.
---Darlene_1 on 11/30/10

Lets see, can I remember, in what I studied. Yes. Faith in God...trusting God. Spiritual battles, one must depend on spiritual strength and power. God has what you need.
