(Genesis 17:7)
I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant ...---David on 12/26/10

It has been a revelation blogging here David. While many are exhuberant Christians....as long as their doctrine does away with GOD's former wife Israel. She can be pitied, and condescendingly looked down on....but,never allowed.
If you note scripture concerning/pertaining to the divorced wife....they go into jealous doctrinal/opinionated diatribe spasm's.
Psalm 105:10
And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant:
Psalm 105:8
He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.
---Trav on 12/27/10

David, Deut. 14:1 I admit it does say that, but he was referring to as a nation. To be a people, but no where does it state they were chosen individually from the foundation of the world. If they were that would mean every single Jew who was born and died are in heaven and those today though they reject Christ are saved. Giving us another way into heaven other then by Grace through faith in Christ Jesus. God had many names for them, My children, the vine, as My Son, My servant, My firstborn, the seed of Abraham. And if you notice names to Israel also were names for Christ, here are a few.
1. I am the vine (John 15:1).
2. The firstborn of all creation ( Col. 1:15).
3. Yet to Abraham and his Seed who is Christ (Gal. 3:16).
---Mark_V. on 12/27/10

David 2: The only thing I can say about that passage is that it is a passage where the word "Children" meaning "Ben" has many meaning. It could mean, son, child, boy, young one, grandson, grandchild, descendant, member of a group. It is believe this word comes from "banah" Ben, specifies an intimate relationship. And the words sons of Israel occurs 630 time and refers to all the people of Israel.
So your argument is not a good one, too many holes in that one. Wrong interpretation if you say they were children of God from the foundation of the world, you would have people saved without grace and through faith in Jesus Christ death an resurrection.
---Mark_V. on 12/27/10

David, I do not recall anywhere in the Bible that all of Israel were God's children, Or that all the Jews are.---Mark_V. on 12/26/10

(Deuteronomy 14:1)
"You are the children of the LORD your God."

(Genesis 17:7)
I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendantsafter you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you.

Descendant- a person that is descended from a specific ancestor, an offspring.

Since God made this an everlasting Covenant with Abraham's offspring, Abraham's offspring were God's Children while they were still in the womb.
---David on 12/26/10

David, I do not recall anywhere in the Bible that says that all of Israel were God's children from the foundation of the world. Or that all the Jews are. I do not know where you got that from. If all of them were, then every single Jew who was ever born from the very beginning is a child of God, saved forever since all children of God never stop been His children. The only people from Israel who will enter heaven are those who looked forward to the coming Christ, and all those who look backward at Christ who came and believe by faith on His works on the Cross. The Spiritual Israel (Gal. 6:16) is the only one who will be saved. Not the Israel of the flesh (1Cor. 10:18).

David, I absolutely love your last post..---kathr4453 on 12/24/10

Thank you Kathryn
After re-reading it I didn't know if anyone would understand it.
I guess we were just on the same Page.

In Geogia we are getting snow for the first Christmas since the 1860's.
Merry Christmas, everyone!

one can be save by believing on Jesus Christ, accepting His gift of eternal life and mostly accepting HIS Lordship on our life (John 3:16)

David, your demonstration makes no sense. ---Mark_V. on 12/24/10

Mark
I agree, sometimes it is difficult to make a point using 125 words.

Is everyone on this Earth called a Child of God?
No!
Why are some called children of God and some are not?
Because not all have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

The Jews were called God's Children because they were Abraham's Descendants.
This being the case, God called them, God knew them as his Children before they were even born, while they were still in the womb.
It was their inheritance by Birth, their birthright.
Under the New Covenant no one is born a Christian, no one is called a Child of God while still in the womb.
---David on 12/25/10

David, Merry Christmas to you and to your family. And also to all those others whom I have answered whether we agree on things or not. I also thank God for the wonderful moderators who works so hard to make this website very important to so many. May God continue to bless all of you. peace I leave you.

Romans 5:15
But not as the offence, so also is the free gift.

Romans 5:17
For if by one man's offence death reigned by one, much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.

The offence brought death to all,

THE GIFT of Righteousness by Jesus Christ BRINGS LIFE.

That is how one gets saved, believing that ONLY Jesus Christ brings LIFE, and receiving HIM for that LIFE.

ANYONE and EVERYONE who died in AdAM'S SIN is offered LIFE in Jesus Christ.

There is no LIMIT to God GRACE. It so much more abounds over ALL sin...
---kathr4453 on 12/25/10

David, your demonstration makes no sense. you say that:
"Abraham's children were not chosen by God because of their Faith, but were called God's children while they were still in the womb,"
Of course they were not chosen by God because of their faith, they were chosen by God by His Grace.
You and Kathr have the same fault. Paul often said that we were saved through" faith ( that is, as the instrumental cause), but never once does he say that we are saved "on account of" faith, (that is, as the meritorious cause). And to the same effect we may say that the redeemed shall be rewarded in proportion to their good works, but not "on account of them."
---Mark_V. on 12/24/10

Mark
I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas and I want you to know I have enjoyed talking with you.
---David on 12/24/10

Hard to believe, isnt it?
Some will say, no! You just have to believe.
You know have, FAITH!

Some have even said faith, is not a gift!
To whom I say Wow-man!
But ask them how they got it.

So now, what if God never spoke to Moses!
And what about the bible, didnt it also come from God?
And how can you be sure Christ is the Son Of God, without the bible?
And how would you know of the Holy Spirit, if Christ not-come?

Rom12:3 measure of faith!
Everything comes from God. You have nothing at all?

You only have it because, he gives it!
And if he gives it! Why do you glory in it, as if he didnt?
God Bless You!
---TheSeg on 12/24/10

David, I absolutely love your last post.

Isaiah 44:2
Thus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, which will help thee, Fear not, O Jacob, my servant, and thou, Jesurun, whom I have chosen.

Now compare to the deadness of Sarah's womb, Children of PROMISE who we are.

The New Covenant is YOU MUST be BORN AGAIN. Our first birth from the womb ( Abraham's physical descendents of Jacob) won't save anyone.

Salvation through the New Birth is EXTENDED to ALL, Gentile Jew THROUGH Jesus Christ! Whosoever will may come!!
---kathr4453 on 12/24/10

Kathr,
You're reading Romans 5 out of context.

Verses 1 & 9 both say "having been justified". Verse 10 says "having been reconciled"

Verses 9 & 10 say now that the issue of being reconciled is settled, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Jesus' life. That means thorugh His resurrection.

Compare verses 12-21 to 1 Corinthians 15 and botice how many statements are exactly the same.

In Adam all die, in Crist all live

Rom 5:18 calls it justification of LIFE.

The gift in Rom 5 is resurrection. 5:18 says to ALL men.

Bodily death came to ALL men through Adam. Bodily life comes to ALL men through Christ's resurrection
---James_L on 12/24/10

Faith is not mentioned once here as the gift.

Romans 5:15
But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
Romans 5:17
For if by one man's offence death reigned by one, much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.

David, you gave a verse that has nothing whatsoever to do with predestination.
---Mark_V. on 12/22/10

Mark
Predestination teaches that those of us who are chosen, are called God's Children while we are still in the womb, Correct?

This is how it was with the Children of Abraham, "I knew you from the Womb."
Abraham's children were not chosen by God because of their Faith, but were called God's children while they were still in the womb, and only because of the Covenant God made with Abraham.

In the statement made by Jesus, when speaking to the Jews, he says this is not how God's Children will be chosen under the New Covenant, if God wanted this, God could just make Children out of stones.
---David on 12/23/10

MarkV, you all SAY you are saved by Grace through Faith, but when you explain it , that faith is the Gift, you are actually saying you are saved by faith through Grace.

You all say faith is the Gift.

You place the emphasis IT IS A GIFT on FAITH.

It's the Calvin bait and switch doctrine!
---kathr4453 on 12/23/10

Kathr, you again write something that is out of context when you said,
"May want to brush up on Romans 5 where it clearly states more than once....GRACE is the GIFT through Jesus Christ."
You want to make it sound as if the grace to be save comes after a person is save when you say what you say, which is not what the passages in Romans 5:1-3.
The passages begins to tells us that "after been justified by faith,(that means after been saved) we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ through whom we have access by faith into His grace in which we stand."
We receive continued grace through our lives through Christ.
---Mark_V. on 12/23/10

Paul's Gospel

Rom.3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God,
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord
1 Cor.15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you THE GOSPEL which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand, 2 By which also YE ARE SAVED if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures, 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures

Kathr ... If you read back to what Christan said on the other blog, he quoted Ephesians 2.8.9 correctly, as "we are saved by Grace through faith."

So you misquoted him, when you said to him "You christan say we are saved by FAITH through Grace"

I don't know which of these two startement you call a total lie, but the first, as quoted by Christan, is straight from Ephesians, so can't be a lie!
---alan8566_of_uk on 12/23/10

Kathr, when you quote us, this time Christian, please quote the Truth. You quote nothing but lies. Here is what you said,

"you christan say we are saved by FAITH through Grace...a TOTAL LIE."

Kathr you speak TOTAL LIES. For we have never said that. We say "we are saved by Grace through faith." Eph. 2:8,9. You want to slander us but you add to your lies every day. Just more sin.

When are you guys going to learn JESUS is the GIFT...Grace IS Jesus death and resurrection life APPLIED .

May want to brush up on Romans 5 where it clearly states more than once....GRACE is the GIFT through Jesus Christ.

You twist the meaning of faith as bad as the WOF people do....

You both believe there is power in faith...WRONG!!!

Praise the Lord bloggers,
I think the answer is found in Acts 2:38 (Chapter 1 and 2 of Acts leading up to 2:38). God's grace has given to man a provision to save himself from his dilemma and it is only through repentance, water baptism in Jesus name and the reception of the Holy Ghost. This constitutes the new birth experience Jesus stated in John 3:5-7.

How were people born into the body of Christ? We must start at the gospels for the preparation and the book of Acts for the implementation of God's salvation plan.

Richard You get no argument from me, there are works of faith, but faith itself, it's origin is simply the product of God converting a soul to believe. The Bible is TRUE when it says that no one seeks God. The fact is God initiates the salvation process by drawing a believer to himself through Christ...THEREFORE the work of salvation is entirely God's.

If your faith is the product of him evidencing himself to you (it is) then having faith is nothing you can take credit for
---Pharisee on 12/21/10

David, you gave a verse that has nothing whatsoever to do with predestination. You said it reminded you of it. Then you said what you did,
"Mark
Everytime I hear predestination taught, this verse comes to mind.
Why?
Because according to the predestination teachings, God did exactly that, he just up and created children.
With no rhyme or reason as to this selection, he just made them."

So I answered you very kindly why there was a reason. It was gospel Truth. If you were just presenting what you felt and didn't want an answer then it would be a different story. If that was the case, then disregard my answer.

//Faith was a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8,9), //---Christan

Twist one verse and a whole new religion is formed.

GRACE is Gods gift. GRACE brings salvation.

You are saved by GRACE thru faith.

Christ tasting death for every man was Gods act of GRACE towards all mankind (Heb 2:9)

You gain access to that grace by faith (Romans 5:2)(4:16-25)

Nowhere does the Bible say Christ died for only a select few. In fact it says the opposite in many verses. Only snobs push such a lie.

2 THESSALONIANS 1:11 Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our GOD would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and THE WORK OF FAITH with power.

Kathr,
I'm not sure where you saw a contradiction. If it was in the two satements about believing the world is flat or round, maybe the wording got away from me.

What I was saying is that we are convinced by evidence. Nobody ever chose to believe either way, because it is not possible to believe something by choosing to do so.

We have to be convinced. Whether by evidence, or credible testimony or the faithfulness of one making a promise. Believing is something that happens TO us, not by us.

I agree with the scenario you described. Faith is passive, not active
---James_L on 12/21/10

You know that is not the context in which my post was written. I even gave you the verse from which it was written, to show the context.

If you can not give evidence, as to your accusations towards me in that post, just say so, there is no call to slander me further.

I was merely trying to show you, if there is no foundation for your teachings in the Gospel's of Christ, the teaching will not stand up under the scrutiny of my questions, and that is why you can not find any evidence to back you accusations against me.
---David on 12/21/10

Donna Smith - How do I know that most if not all are not saved on Christianet, the answer to that is simple, from their responses not being lined up with the Bible. FAITH is believing the EVIDENCE put before us through Prophets, and EYE witnesses that Jesus rose from the dead.

If I tell you that if you come to my house I will give you a million dollars.

Don't you come because you HEARD I'm giving a million dollars away. Why else would you come?

You either believe it or not!
Others have come and received, TESTIFYING in fact it is TRUE!

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believeth not shall be damned.

David, did you not say"

" God did exactly that, he just up and created children. With no rhyme or reason as to this selection, he just made them."

You question God creating humans. and suggest for no reason. That He just made them.
Which is not true at all. "Remember the former things of old, for I am God, and there is no other, I am God, and there is none like Me, declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient times things not yet done, saying, "My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish all MY purpose,"
David, He did have a purpose. He does nothing for no reason, everything has a reason.
---Mark_V. on 12/21/10

Christan,
oh, how I wish we could put 500 words in a post. I absolutely did not mean to convey any idea that faith is our own doing.

Faith is not an active element that we "place" or "excercise". That is nowhere found in scripture. Nowhere are we commanded to "decide" to believe the gospel

Faith is passive. We become convinced of the truth of the gospel, and that happens only because the Holy Spirit works in us to assure us.

It is impossible to choose to believe anything, no matter what it is.

Nobody could ever choose to believe the world is flat because we have too much evidence that it is round. And we don't choose to believe it's round, we are convinced through evidence.
---James_L on 12/21/10

Leslie--
How do you know that "most, if not all" the people responding to these blogs are not saved?
---Donna_Smith on 12/20/10

JamesL, you seem to lead one to your explanation of Abraham's faith in Romans 3 & 4 was from within himself that he believed and was credited with righteousness from God.

The Scripture is complete and God through His Word tells us clearly that Abraham was operating by Faith and that his Faith was a gift from God (Ephesians 2:8,9), just like a true Christian. In other words the Faith from God is from without whereas you lead one to understand that Abraham's Faith was from within himself.

The question for you is where did your faith come from? Did you receive it by obeying the law or was it by grace from God? For I know according to Scripture that not all of mankind will receive the gift of Faith from God through grace.

Why not look for passages IN THE CONTEXT OF BEING MADE RIGHTEOUS? Romans chapters 3 & 4 are in the context of being justified by God. Paul says Abraham was

"fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform. Therefore IT WAS ALSO CREDITED TO HIM AS RIGHTEOUSNESS. Now not for his sake only was it written that it was credited to him, but for our sake also, to whom it will be credited, as those who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead" (Romans 4:21-24)

Righteousness is credited to us. By faith WITHOUT works (Rom 3:28).

Jesus bled and died to be punished for our sins. If you are convinced that's enough, it's credited to you, too

I will answer you comment,
"With no rhyme or reason as to this selection, he just made them."
You find no rhyme or reason because you look at Scripture from man viewpoint, not from God's. You want it to be from your perspective of what is reason to you. And if God's Word does not make sense to you, it must be wrong. God did not give us His word so that we could reason with it, but so that He could reveal the Truth that is in it.
"it is God who saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before times eternal"
You have no answer to God, but refuse with your reason to believe His Word.

Richard I don't want to be nit pickity but repentance doesn't reconcile one to God, it's merely the catalyst for the action that God does in Jesus Christ when he forgives one's sin. Faith you can call a human work if you like, but I and James disagree (faith without works being dead) Faith is merely a state of being that was wrought in a person by the evidence of God's existence and if anyone should be credited for it, it's God.

It is personal for each one, how God changes a wrong person's heart and mind so the person decides to trust in Jesus (Ephesians 1:12). And in personal prayer with Christ, the person commits oneself to Him, turning from self and sinful ways. "Then He said to them all, 'If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.'" (Luke 9:23) So, becoming truly saved includes denying myself, and carrying my cross of obeying God above all else, and loving any and all people, no matter how undeserving they are (Matthew 5:46, 2 Corinthians 12:15).

(Acts 2:21)
"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

What is true meaning of this verse, are we saved by merely calling out the name of the "Lord"?
For the follower's of Christ, the name Jesus, should be synonymous with the word, "Lord".
The problem, Many call Jesus,"Lord", but few make Jesus,"Lord".
This is why few will be saved, just like in the days of Noah.

The question..How do we make Jesus, Lord?
(Luke 6:46)
Why do you call me, Lord, Lord, and do not Do what I say?

Do what Jesus says, and you will be Saved.

"He who believes in the Son of God has the witness [of His Spirit within] himself, And this is [His] testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
He who 'has' (Mentally embraced, and relies upon) the Son [as Lord] has life," And these things [were] written unto us "who [has been given to] believe in the 'name' (authority and character) of the Son of God, that [we] may know that [we] have eternal life, and that [we] may continue to" rely on, trust in, and depend upon Him. See 1John 5:9-13

Donna5535, you gave a great answer. I know that every time I have given my testimony on what happened to me there is some here who want to pick it apart. Just to show their disagreement with me on all matters of faith. The second God plants His love in you, from that point on you love Him. Without that love no one can make a contrite commitment to Christ. All those who make a commitment to Christ with no love for Christ are not really saved, because they do not have a contrite heart. A humble heart, a broken heart. They are still in their proud state. God has to change that proud heart, "Yet the Lord has not given you a heart to perceive and eyes to see and ears to hear to this very day"
---Mark_V. on 12/18/10

Jesus said, "This is eternal life, that you may know Him."

Paul adds, "To know Him in the power of His resurrection."

Jesus will either say to you on Judgement day, "Well done (not much done) they good and faithful servant." OR "Be gone from me, for I never knew you."

No one comes to the Father except the Father draw Him. He does the drawing and we do the responding. We obey His word at all cost, We worship Him as Lord and Savior, and we do what He says to do and we will be saved from the wrath of God.

Pharisee, great answers.
Here is how I see the process taken place, even though I know all that I know about God now and speak about it everyday, it is not what I knew when I committed my life to Christ. I didn't realize at the time God had drawn me to Him, and made me alive to Christ and to the Gospel. A person does not know the second you are brought to life, what you do know is that you are beginning to seek after God, for whatever reason going on in your life. You are drawn to a Church, or a person who will witness to you, an revival that is happening close to you, whatever the reason, you now have a new perspective, new purpose you never had before. And when you hear the gospel you are open to God's Word because of what you feel inside.
---Mark_V. on 12/17/10

Pharisee 2: When you hear the gospel Truth, suddenly faith comes into your heart concerning the truth of Scripture, and you believe the words from the gospel, and recognize your rebellion against God, and that God gave His Son in order to forgive my sins, and I feel that repentance that comes from God through His word and I ask for forgiveness. And by that faith I know He has forgiven me. So I thank Him so much for coming into my life. I now know I had nothing to do with my salvation. My commitment was the result of God drawing me to Him, for no one lost seeks after God. As you grow in Christ, you have a passion to learn how all this came about, and find out it was God from beginning to end who saved you. That without God you can do nothing.

Thanks Mima, I only know it because it's my story :)

Worship and obey Christ saves the sinuous life. "His life for yours". In genuine personal prayer you surrender your life to Christ, confessing and forsaking your sins, then ask him to Save you from sin and to come into your heart and into your life to take over. When you become born-again, you receive his nature in exchange for yours, he takes out the dead stony heart and gives you a live new heart, one in which he lives. Now you live for him, instead of living for you.

How do you become TRULY saved?

When you hear, "Well done, good and faithful servant, and you hear "the many's" footsteps fading into black.

Does anyone know?

The Father, Son, Holy Spirit, and the heavenly host (good and evil) know for sure.

You sound pretty young as well.

answer...believe on HIM who HE has sent. HE is the way, the truth and the life. We are save by grace through faith IN HIM. NOTHING MORE.

To be saved: (1) Recognize that you are a sinner in need of a savior (Romans 3:10-18,23), (2) Recognize that you are headed to Hell (1 Cor. 6:9-10, Eph. 5:5-7, Rev. 21:8), (3) Recognize that Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for you to save you and erase your sins, and that Jesus is the ONLY way to salvation (John 14:6, Rom. 5:8-9, Eph. 1:7, Heb. 9:22), (4) Recognize that in order to be saved you MUST repent (confess & turn from sins) and confess & believe that Jesus Christ is Lord (boss) and that He rose from the dead (Luke 13:3, Rom. 10:9-10, 1 John 1:9).

First you must have faith to believe. Other steps, Acts 2 v's 37 - 41. Live a clean & holy life, including going to Church services, Bible reading - study,
praying even some fasting etc. He & She, Matt. 24 v 13.

---Pharisee you gave a very good answer to this question!
---mima on 12/16/10

Leslie, go read Ephesians Chapter 1 again. You don't do any thing to get saved. God just picks who he wants for his own reasons and reject who he does not want. All the happened billions of yeas ago prior to the creation process so now in 2010 it is a done deal all ready. I is just a matter of realization. Some realize their selection early in life some on their death bed.

If God chose you for adoption into his family, Christ death was the price paid for the transaction to occur. God is your new Father and Christ is your new brother all with all the other people God has adopted. Basically at this point if you were select you are in, if you did not make the cut too bad there is nothing you can do to change your outcome.
---Blogger9211 on 12/16/10

God draws you to Jesus.
It's not until a person has the thought 'what if it was all true' that they even begin to believe.
That question ultimately leads to conclusions about each persons life in light of the words of Jesus, and the conclusion is always the same, that in comparison to Jesus we are rock bottom low down dung heel rotten sinners who'll never get to heaven.
This will finally lead the person to cry out to Jesus to forgive and save them, and when this cry is genuine and their sins are forgiven they'll receive the Holy Spirit to seal them in Christ.
That's how it is.
