Who Knows Rapture Date

How is it that man can know the day and hour of when The Rapture will occur. But not the Son of Man Jesus Christ? It says so in The Bible that, not even the Son of Man knows the day and hour, only God.

Moderator - Man doesn't know the day or hour.

Acts 2 Peter says the last days had come.
He was right, by what had been revealed.
Prophets say nothing about boC or the dispensation of grace.
In Joel's prophecy, tribulation and Christs' return follows Pentecost.
Prophets "testified "the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow" (I Pet. 1:11)
The sufferings were over, glory should follow.
Leave Paul's MYSTERY out and bring Pentecost and the Tribulation together, you see what Peter saw.
They expected the HS. to be "poured out" before tribulation and the return of Christ, as Jesus promised(Mk 16)
When the Spirit came and they spoke in other languages Peter knew, quoting Joel's prophecy, "THIS IS THAT."

Rom. 5:9 .. being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
---michael_e on 1/25/11

Wrath and Tribulation are two different things. Wrath is for the wicked(i.e.Nonbelievers) only!

Tribulation is for believers only. It comes from the Noun Tribul. It is a sled used to seperate the Wheat from the Chaff. Therefore its is used in scripture. It is a test of faith. All believers go through tribulation.

Also Saul's letter to Thessalonians was answering a rumor(by Heretics) they heard that Believers in Jerusalem had been Raptered and they were left out.
Saul assures them that it will not happen until after the man of perdition is revealed and the Tribulation is past.

//there's NOTHING there that says it happens before the Tribulation.//
Or after

Rom.1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men..
Rom. 5:9 .. being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

\\I admit I could have used a better word.
like Mystery Resurrection or the catching away, all the same meaning, and never revealed before, it was revealed to our Apostle.\\

While this is mentioned in 1 Thess, there's NOTHING there that says it happens before the Tribulation.

To say this is a pre-trib rapture is to read it into the passage--aka eisogesis.

Steveng: Yes, the question of the 'generation' (the Greek word is not quite the same as the English)

We will only know for sure at the end - for now, as Jesus told us, we must be ALWAYS ready
---Peter on 1/24/11

Michael-e. I'm still waiting for the scripture!!!!

I imagine I will be waiting until "Kingdom come" to get it.

Probably since it does not exist (except in your imagination)
---John on 1/24/11

Cluny, as to whether or not this is the same as you've always said, I will neither agree nor disagree. I'm only saying that this time I do agree with you.

Even Jesus did not know it!!!

Why should we?????
---Peter on 1/23/11

Those foolish men/women who prophesy that an event will happen on a certain date prove themselves to be ignorant as well as foolish.
---KarenD on 1/23/11

Christians are not in darkness concerning Jesus' return. Although man does not know the day or hour, he surely knows the season and bible prophesy. There are questions that need to be answered. One, Who is the biblical interpretation of the fig tree and when did it bloom? (Matthew 24:32-34 and Luke 21:29-30) And, two, how long is a generation? (Matthew 1:7, 24:32-34, Isaiah 23:15 and Psalm 90:10)

Considering the accuracy of his first coming, will christians not recognize his second coming as the jewish not recognize his first coming?

It is not the "S"on of man, but the "s"on of man who is ignorant: it is not Christ, the very mind of Omniscient God whom is in any darkness, but the son of perdition which is the devil who abides without light.
---Eloy on 1/22/11

When YAHUSHUA said that "No man knows the day or hour.", it was a Jewish expression that referred to a certain Hebrew?Jewish Holy Day. For the (first) Rapture will occur one of those Holy Days.

Man can't know the date, they didn't know of a rapture until the risen Christ revealed it to Paul
---michael_e on 1/22/11

PLEASE SHOW US THE EXACT WORD IN SCRIPTURE WHERE HE SAID THIS TO PAUL ON THIS...."RAPTURE".

I don't want to hear... "the Greek means this" or "that Means that".

I want to see where it SAIDS... not where YOU SAY it means!

Man can't know the date, they didn't know of a rapture until the risen Christ revealed it to Paul
---michael_e on 1/22/11

No one, man or Christ, knows the date. Man has tried to figure out the date by making projections and signs, but they really have no bearing on the true date. My personal opinion is, if Christ doesn't know when He's returning, why should I waste my time reading or listening to what someone has says about the date on which Christ will return. The Christian college I graduate from had this motto: "Live like Christ is coming today, but plan like he's not coming for a 1,000 years." The main thing is to be ready, and make sure people you know are ready.
---wivv on 1/22/11

Are you talking about the Resurrection(Second coming) or the Heretical joke called Pre-Trib rapture?

WHICH?
---John on 1/22/11

\\there is no "rapture" date. there is a ressurection date only God knows of.We are not to know.
---candice on 1/22/11\\

"Rapture" does not necessarily mean "Pre-Trib Rapture." The word itself is used in Orthodox devotional prayers.

The Resurrection of the dead and gathering of believers to meet Christ when He comes for the Great Judgement after the Tribulation IS the Rapture.
