Fate Of False Teachers

2 Corinthians 5:10 teaches everyone, including myself, will stand before the judgment seat of CHRIST. Do you think the FALSE TEACHERS of the Word Of Faith Movement believe this?
Will their fate be what is written Matthew 7:13-13?

Oh yes, I'm sure word of faith teachers believe this.
False teachers believe all of God's word but with their own spin.
2Cr 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

WOF would probably say that you will be rewarded for "claiming the things that God has promised you" and being a "co-creator" with God. But those who doubt or waver...will be ashamed because of their lack of faith and failure to let God manifest His healing, wealth etc..

I agree with---Mark_V. on 2/21/11.
If Christians stand before God to be judged according to their salvation then the Lord Jesus Christ, God's son, failed to accomplish his mission on the cross of Calvery!
---mima on 2/21/11

Rob, I think you made a mistake when you said,
"When we stand before the JUDGEMENT SEAT OF CHRIST, I often wonder how many people will say "WE HAVE BEEN DUPED" because of what is written in Galatians 1:6-10?
Only genuine believers go to the "Judgment Seat of Christ" ( 2 Cor. 5:9, 1 Cor. 3:12-15 )
If they are there, they have made it already. That Judgment Seat is only for believers where the bad things done in his Christian life, they will be burn and will get rewarded for the good things done.
---Mark_V. on 2/21/11

When we stand before the JUDGEMENT SEAT OF CHRIST, I often wonder how many people will say "WE HAVE BEEN DUPED" because of what is written in Galatians 1:6-10?

What will they say and do when they see the people who's teaching they have been following and supporting, and Christ tells them what is written in Matthew 7:13-23?

Will SATAN say these are my servants who I am well pleased.

This statement by Rob,"

I have also learned too many people will sit under the teaching/preaching of others, but they will never check to see if what is being said is indeed true, ACTS 17:11."
---Rob on 2/1/11
it is so true. For example of which is the fact that the Mormon Church will send you a Bible along with the book of Mormon . Now the Bible teaches directly against what the book of Mormon calls the truth. But the Mormon Church is depending on the fact that the Bible will never be read.

I must agree with leej on 1/26/11, God will ultimately identify these ones as False teachers and judge them for not knowing Him. Their fate is sealed and guaranteed by God as illustrated by this verse:

2 Peter 2:3 "and in their greed they will exploit you with false words, their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep"

But it our duty to keep the Word of God in our minds and thoughts, to identify the error in their false teaching, and to inform others of this error by using the Word of God as the source for all truth.
---Mark_Eaton on 2/3/11

True...one can see on TV that personality & marketing sell.
There is one way to always out the false/ignorant of scripture teacher/preacher. False doctrines, prophets etc.
Two or more witnesses. On a scriptural/Biblical matter who does Trav believe? 2 or more Prophets,Apostles. Prophet & Apostle. Jesus used every Prophet and says so fulfilling.
Evil men can be witnesses as well. Pharoah for example, and all the scripture confirming.

I listen to anyone that has merit...but, require multiple witnesses for proof.

Rob: Being diligen is good

But still, even people who are diligent may end with different views (I see it so much here)

Which is then the false teacher?

2 Peter 2 lists many dangerous actions of false teachers, and when they do not do (apply Scripture properly). But that is quite general
---Steve on 2/2/11

Steve, I know who are false teachers, 2 Peter Chapter Two.

Through the years I have learned the hard way to be very dilligent in studying the Bible in the true context which it is written, 2 Timothy 2:14-19. This does not just happen. It takes time including asking and answering the questions WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY, and to WHOM.

I have also learned too many people will sit under the teaching/preaching of others, but they will never check to see if what is being said is indeed true, ACTS 17:11.

Many false teachers do what is written in Romans 1:25.

StrongAxe: I see your comments often, and I am happy that we can agree
---Peter on 2/1/11

Rob: How do you know who is a false teacher!?
---Steve on 2/1/11

Peter:

Yes, unfortunately it is a very thin line that separates the humble "I have God's forgiveness" from the proud "I DESERVE God's forgiveness".
---StrongAxe on 2/1/11

StrongAxe: I would hope that we only feel sure of God's forgiveness, not our own righteousness

I must, of course, confess that there are times I have felt 'but X is so terrible = immoral', and so falsely raised myself to be self-rightous

I have to repent of that sometimes
---Peter on 2/1/11

shira3877:

Even though born-again Christians believe that they will stand before God's judgment, many are also so sure of their own personal righteousness that they are certain that they will not be found guilty of anything - so they do not fear judgment.
---StrongAxe on 2/1/11

Lets be careful about calling people false teachers:

So the pharisees called Jesus in His day!

Take care of whom you call a false teacher
---Peter on 2/1/11

James tells us that we who teach will be judged more strictly. For me, that sums it up rather nicely. Anyone who assumes the role of a teacher or preacher of God's Word, and misleads the people, whether for personal reasons or not, will be judged "according to his works."
Let's not make the mistake of thinking that Christ will not look at everything we have said or done in this life, whether teacher or not. He will judge the "quick and the dead." The quick are those of us who have been "quickened," or made alive in Him, and the dead, those who do not accept Him as Lord. Being judged by our works applies to only the quick. The dead have already been condemned because they have not confessed Jesus as Lord.

Who do you label as false teachers?
---earl on 1/30/11

false teachers should know if they preach a false gospel if what they preach is not biblical. That is really not that hard to understand. How can a false teacher think they are right.
---shira3877 on 1/27/11

"Revelations 20:12--and the dead were judged out of those things, which were written in the books, according to their works. Ok there it is for all who think works don't count in salvation, they count whether we get into heaven."
Darlene the above does not apply to you if you are saved.
Ephesians 2:5,
"Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved,)
you of course are saved and do not belong with those who are dead in sin. Your salvation means that you will never die therefore you could not stand before God dead in your sins.
---mima on 1/27/11

They may believe it but don't believe they are one of the false teachers.

James L, I agree with you. We cannot see the heart of man. But we can sure judge. We are called to judge righteous judgment for the good of the believers, but not to judge wrong. Darline is also right that works play a great part for the believers and none believers. The good works of the believers will be for rewards, the bad ones will be burn at the Judgment Seat of Christ. For the none believers, their works will condemn them at the Great White Throne of Judgment. Without Christ even their good works will be against them.
"Although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were they thankful, but became futile in their thoughts and their foolish hearts were darkened" For anything without faith is sin.
---Mark_V. on 1/27/11

Everyone will stand before God and the Book of Life and other Book will be opened and all our deeds will be reviewed. Revelations 20:12--and the dead were judged out of those things, which were written in the books, according to their works. Ok there it is for all who think works don't count in salvation, they count whether we get into heaven. Verse 13 --and they were judged every man according to their works. If works didn't count God wouldn't judge us by them at all. As for the Word of Faith we don't know how God views that teaching, there are a lot of denominations with things just as bad,if it is bad,and I don't see people saying they are for sure going to hell. Let God judge, thats his job,not ours.
---Darlene_1 on 1/26/11

Rob, since the judgment Seat of Christ is only for genuine believers who will receive their rewards, I do not believe many of the Word of Faith will be standing there. The evidence is too strong against them. They get rich on those in need. Speak lies about Scripture. Deceive those who are weak. And most of them come from the same school of teaching. If they knew the Truth and used it for their own benefit I doubt they will be there before Christ, their confession was false. Notice I did not say all of them because in that whole group, there are some that truly had a contrite heart for Christ but were deceived through others teachings, they failed as teachers just as many fail in life. Good thing that we are not saved by our own merits.
---Mark_V. on 1/26/11

Deuteronomy 18:19 "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him."

20 "But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die."

21 "And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?"

22 "When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him."

I don't believe we can assert what their fate will be unless everything they teach is heresy.

Jesus said every good tree bears good fruit, but He did not say that a good tree bears ONLY good fruit. There are many "good trees" on this site bringing forth a little bad fruit.

A walk through any apple orchard will show that the very best trees can have at least a few bad apples hanging on them.

I'n not defending bad teachings, I'm just saying there is a difference between a "bad tree" and a "good tree with bad fuit on it".

I have watched many of their programs so that I could warn family and friends of what they teach. And on occasion, you can hear 15 seconds of very biblical teaching
---James_L on 1/26/11

Whle some of us may have different interpretaions of doctrine false teachers attempt to bring into the church doctrines that the church has not taught.

They are usually the cults who often charged that the church was misled.

2Pe 2:1 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.

False teachers are not well-grounded in the Word of God are often found to question the basic beliefs as held by the church over the centuuries.

I believe God will expose them and the fate they will suffer will be the inevitable judgement on them.
---leej on 1/26/11

Those who think Christians will be judged me to remind themselves of this verse, Romans 8:1,---"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."
---mima on 1/26/11

Cluny, I don't know any "born again christians" who think they are beyond God's judgement. Even you will stand before God.
