War Not Flesh And Blood

Scripture teaches our war is not against flesh and blood, but is against the powers and principalities of this dark age.
What are your thoughts? How do people prevent themselves from becoming a casualty of Satan?

I taught a class on Ephesians and discovered most of my class really didn't believe the invisible world controls the visible world. They believed most of their problems are fleshly and caused by other people.
So they condemned liberal politicians and judges, Bush or Obama while the unsaved world dies doomed to eternal hell fire.
We ought to march to our kneeling positions but instead we march to Washington as if that had anything to do with anything.

"How do people prevent themselves from becoming a casualty of Satan?"
By abiding in the Word and allowing His word to abide in us. As His word becomes that which absorbs our minds and governs our thinking we overcome that Wicked One. For it is by the Spirt and Word of God that we are born from above and that Wicked one should not concern us. We resist Him by remaining consciously aware of the Salvation and righteousness granted the believer through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus. It is by the faith of Jesus that we are empowered to mentally transcend the sensual, and through our willingness to rely on, adhere to, depend on and trust in Him we overcome the world and it's god.

To Whosoever Has An Ear To Hear?

Brethren, When it comes to dealing with Satan, who knows the difference between "Confronting" him and "Resisting" him.... other than the Truth that Scriptures tells us to 'resist' the Devil and he will flee from us, as we submit ourselves to God : putting on the Full Armor of the Lord.

this statement is misleading to many,we as humans are flesh, and we all war against our own flesh,as does everyone around us,this statement is to make us aware not to judge one another while we live in the flesh cause we are all in the same battle, scripture also tells us to confront satan and he will flee.

There may be ones who suppose they can boss Satan around, with just words. But we need to have power to go with our words. In God's love is His almighty power with His leading for overcoming this world's evil. "There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment." (in 1 John 4:18) Also, "rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God." (1 Peter 3:4) The beauty of God's love has almighty safety "incorruptible" against fear and depression and stress, etc.

"But the FALSE TEACHERS of the WOF tell people they are to BIND SATAN, which is not found anywhere in scripture." Rob

"Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others." Ephesians 2:2,3

The day Adam disobeyed God, he became a slave to Satan and all his posterity are born slaves until they are set free by Christ through faith.

Ephesians 6 Rob, Ephesians 6.

A lot of the marching on Washington is fruitless and the equivalent of beating the air.

Religious conservatives have convinced many Christians solutions can be found in politics (Satan's lair). If the country goes to pot its the fault of Christians who are not praying or doing so infrequently.

Rob, I beg the differ...binding and loosening is in Matthew Chapter 18, 18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
A sample would be, "I bind you foul spirit in Jesus name." Also Jesus said in Luke, "Behold I've given you authority to trample upon serpents and scorpions and over ALL the power of the enemy so that NOTHING shall injure you." So binding and loosening is mentioned in scripture Rob. God Bless You.

The war is conducted in the minds and the hearts of Believers.

We need to have our minds renewed (Rom 12:2) by studying the Word of God. This is a daily exercise where we must surrender our thoughts to God (2 Cor 10:5) and keep our thoughts on things of God (Col 3:2, Phil 4:8).

We must keep our hearts soft and tender towards others and towards God. We must fully trust Him, His ways, acquiring wisdom and putting off resentments, quarrels, and anger (James 3:16-17)

ShawnMT, I agree with your answer. It is good to know there are people who seek to know and also abide in GOD'S TRUTH in the true context which it is written. I Thank you for this!

I know the correct answer to the question I posted, I only asked it to see what answers people would give.

I often come in contact with people who will not do this but would rather have their ears tickled, 2 Timothy 4:3-4, They would rather follow those who claim to be people of GOD, but in reality they are SERVANTS OF SATAN, 2 Corinthians 11:13-15!

Brother, In this Spiritual War against the powers & principalities of darkness, we prevent ourselves from becoming a casualty of Satan by putting on the Full Armor of the Lord !!!

If you have placed yourself INSIDE Jesus's body as an INNER TEMPLE, satan is being restained right now...

2 Thessalonians 2:6

"And you know what is restraining him now so that he may be revealed in his time".

As a "son of man" (a son of "in His image man"..."in His image" man before the fall in Eden), we are lords/rulers in the spiritual world....

lord EVEN of the sabbath.

Donna, I agree with scripture saying resist the Devil and he will flee.

But the FALSE TEACHERS of the WOF tell people they are to BIND SATAN, which is not found anywhere in scripture.

This just another perfect example of the WOF doing what is written in Romans 1:25.

The only person who ever walked on the face of earth who was able to BIND SATAN, was CHRIST, AND CHRIST ALONE.
---Rob on 3/1/11

1) Resist the devil and he will flee, but the scriptures say before that, "submit yourself to God."

2) Worship Father God in Spirit and Truth DAILY.

3) Walk by the Spirit of God by filling yourself up with spiritual things, not things of this world.

4) If you can't get the victory over an area of your life, ask the Lord to deliver you from it.
