Yes, these things were true, but look at the context. The next time Jesus comes back to earh and goes into a cemetary and starts raising people from the dead, if someone tells me their Grandpa came and said hello, it might be a believable thing. But until that happens, the dead don't just raise themselves or come back to earth. If something CLAIMS to be a dead relative, there is a good chance that it's something else entirely.

To say someone can't visit you, after they have passed on is denying scripture and is also denying that Jesus Christ himself was resurrected and rose from death. Was Lazarus not risen from the dead with all memories, love, and knowledge he had from life, disproving the remarks of everyone here. Is it also not written that after the crucifixion of Jesus that he went to the spirits that were in prison, that were disobedient at the time of Noah for the three days. Anyone that disputes that disputes the bible itself and they need to read what it says, not what others tell them. The body is mortal, but the spirit is immortal and the only thing you take from life is your memories.

Just another question asked to get the Mormon doctrine out there!!!!!

They don't feel like normal dreams, but don't feel like reality, either.
Once, had one before a friend passed and knew he was leaving soon. At least, I think it was before he passed. Not sure because he'd been dead for a while before he was discovered.
They aren't frightening, but because I don't want to entertain familiar spirits, I prayed not to have one when my favorite aunt passed. Lo and behold, I didn't have one, but my son did. I hadn't told him about past dreams and when he expressed the odd feeling, I knew exactly what he was talking about. Further, my aunt said something to him in the dream that my son didn't know about, but I did.
Odd experiences indeed, but I'd advise anyone to not put much credence in them.

The bible tells us that the dead have no consciousness, so this cannot be grandpa visiting. If this isn't the girl's imagination (and it could be) then it is something sent by Satan.

1Sa 19:9 Then a harmful spirit from the LORD came upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his spear in his hand. And David was playing the lyre.
Can your grandpa in heaven come and visit you? no.
Familiar spirit? maybe.
Another question to launch anti-jesus as deity doctrine. probably.

I bet you're right on target Cluny. :)

"Anyone have scripture relating to this?"
"The living at least know they will die, but the dead know nothing. Whatever they did in their lifetime--loving, hating, envying--is all long gone. They no longer have a part in anything here on earth." Ecc 9:6 (NLT)

I'm inclined to think this was simply a dream--even a waking dream--and was how her mind was dealing with bereavement. And don't forget that children have very active and vivid imaginations.
I have dreams about my parents all the time, even though Mom has been dead over 30 years, and Dad over 20.
There's nothing supernatural about any of this.

According to the Scripture in Luke 16:19-31 - this is impossible. Once the man passes on, he's either taken to Paradise or Hades and that's it.
But does satan and his angels dwell among us - yes. "And no marvel, for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light." 2 Cor 11:14. "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:12
Do not underestimate satan and his angels.

1st off Mormonism is a CULT, NOT Christianity. 2nd this is a Familiar Spirit, and is DEMONIC, NOT of God. People that have died, can NOT come back to Earth - this is a DEMON that visited him.

So much missing information!!
How old was she when this happened?
Had she known the grandfather before he died?
How long had he been dead when this happened?
The grandfather had been mormon ... but what about your friend's parents, and what about her ... were they mormon?
