So we know that Paul addressing the seed of Abraham, when he made statements about the law.

Why would Paul be teaching against the Old covenant Law, in the New covenant Church?

The seed of Abraham is in the Spiritual Realm as Prophet, which is what Paul is Teaching. Whereby mishandling Scripture through a false deception causes troubles for He wrote that We know that the law is good if one uses it properly.

The law is the curse part of Cainaan earth that Paul speaks concerning.

Bless and Do not curse is fulfillment Gospel anew. The new covenant was written on hearts and minds in The kingdom of God by The Spirit of God Poured out on all flesh for the flesh counts for nothing.

David, you keep bringing up the law as if we were under the law. Here is what Paul says Concerning believers by faith,

"Is the law then against the promises of God? certainly not. For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law"
There is no eternal life through the law.

"But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. "Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith." But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor"

You want us to be under the tutor, (the law).

Law Keepers-

(Ga 5:1-7) "You are SEVERED FROM CHRIST, you who would be justified by the law. You have FALLEN FROM GRACE."

Paul is warning us not to let our heart drift from faith in Christ alone. Our faith can either be in Christs perfect holiness, or in our own potential holiness through the Law. But, NOT BOTH! Lutherist

Sigh. I actually agree with these statements. But have not heard what we say. A Christian who is saved will not live in disobedience of the will of GOD. We do not have both. I am saved by Grace alone. But grace does not give me a license to say there is no law that defines sin. Read Romans 7 Why did Luther write a commentary on the Ten Commandments if they are all done away with?

Just as with civil law. I am sure you refrain from murdering your neighbor, not because it is illegal, but because you KNOW it is wrong, without even having to think about it. StrongAxe

Let me understand this. Without reading what defines sin we just know it? Why did Paul say that the law showed him he was a sinner? Why does he say the following?

Rom 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin.

Rom 5:13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

Do you know the history of Antinomianism?

And that is the major problem with SDAs, they ignore anything in the Bible that does not fit their legalistic profile.

It was the legalism of the Pharisees that brought Christ to the Cross, and it is the same legalism that judges and condemns others that comes from SDAs. leonia

When I read the bible I see law as being the telling of what love does. Not to save myself but to follow JESUS. You keep saying that being opposed to committing sin is legalism. But John Wesley and Calvin both spoke against living in sin. In order to rid yourself of the Sabbath you in effect throw out all of Christian history on the importance of the Ten Commandments.
---Samuel on 4/13/11

A false prophet is one who will introduce new revelation and even another scripture.

Like the Mormons did with their Book of Mormons, Doctrines & Covenants, Pearl of Great Price, etc. Adventists have annointed the writings of Ellen White on the same shelf with scripture and have introduced new doctrines - that one must observe the Sabbath, that there is an investigate judgement to come upon Christians, that Jesus left His Father's side and went into the heavenly sanctuary, that certain foods are forbidden of Christians, and that the door is closed to those who have rejected the Adventist message - beliefs not found within the early church.
---leonia on 4/13/11

I've said this before, but I will say it again.

The Saturday Sabbath is the LEAST of problems with SDA.

When an SDA embraces Orthodox Christianity, he must be received by canonical Orthodox Baptism.

This is because of SDA's defective Arian Christology and soteriology that makes Satan the ultimate sin bearer.
---Cluny on 4/13/11

jerry **I guess that answers my question. You do not believe that the Ten Commandments are still in effect. All you have is a nondescript emotion - love

it is obvious that you do not believe Romans 13:9-10 that love of neighbor fulfills the law as you simply view love as some kind of emotion.

And that is the major problem with SDAs, they ignore anything in the Bible that does not fit their legalistic profile.

It was the legalism of the Pharisees that brought Christ to the Cross, and it is the same legalism that judges and condemns others that comes from SDAs.

Legalism negates love for others and that is the dark deep pit you guys are in now. How dark is your darkness?

jerry6593:

As Christians, who are not under the law, we have no need of the Ten Commandments.

If we love God with all our heart, mind and soul, we won't have other gods before him, worship idols, or take his name in vain. If we love our neighbor as ourselves, we won't kill him, lie about him, steal his wife or stuff (or even want to do so). If we love our parents, we won't disrepect them. If we follow these general principles, we don't need to be told every specific thing not to do - we automatically avoid them without needing to be told.

Just as with civil law. I am sure you refrain from murdering your neighbor, not because it is illegal, but because you KNOW it is wrong, without even having to think about it.

Law Keepers-

(Ga 5:1-7) "You are SEVERED FROM CHRIST, you who would be justified by the law. You have FALLEN FROM GRACE."

Paul warned us against having a faith in Christ that includes trying to keep the Law. Paul said even the simple act of circumcision obligates us to keep the whole law and SEVERS US FROM CHRIST. Its not the physical act of circumcision, Paul was circumcised!

Paul is warning us not to let our heart drift from faith in Christ alone. Our faith can either be in Christs perfect holiness, or in our own potential holiness through the Law. But, NOT BOTH!

(Ga 3:13) "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law" A saving faith in Christ cannot ever be divided!

So we know that Paul addressing the seed of Abraham, when he made statements about the law.

Why would Paul be teaching against the Old covenant Law, in the New covenant Church?
---David on 4/13/11

Good deduction.
Nth House Israel, divorced under law...were bearers of the burden of it. Judah, could/would see no way back for Nth House Ten. There was none actually, unless GOD broke his own marriage Law. To keep Law he would have to die, to free former wife.
What kind of GOD would dies? For a people....even though he loved em? Israels.
YAHSHUA did die. Bridegroom comes.
Matt 25:1
Then shall kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, went forth to meet the bridegroom.

The love of God is not a precursor to the love of neighbour and neither supersedes it.

The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel, The Lord our God is one Lord:
And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

Paul said, "We are not under the Law",
However, we are under the Law of Christ.(1 Corinthians 9:21)
So, what Law was Paul referring to when he spoke of the Law?
The Law of Moses, the covenant between God and the seed of Abraham.

Were the Gentiles ever under the Law of Moses?
No,
So we know that Paul addressing the seed of Abraham, when he made statements about the law.
Why would Paul be teaching against the Old covenant Law, in the New covenant Church?
Because The teachers of the Law, were teaching Old covenant Law in the New Covenant church.(Acts 15)
---David on 4/13/11

Lee onia: I guess that answers my question. You do not believe that the Ten Commandments are still in effect. All you have is a nondescript emotion - love. That is not specific enough to be a LAW by which men are judged. Did you know that the 10 C were placed within the Ark of the Covenant in the Sanctuary, and that that Sanctuary is a copy of the one in heaven? Thus the very same 10 C penned by God Himself are within the foundation of God's throne in heaven. Perhaps that's why Jesus said that one jot or tittle shall in no wise pass from the Law while heaven and earth last.

"If you separate love of neighbor with love of God, then what is our guidance?"
---leonia on 4/11/11

Love of self is a great motivator.
Matthew 7:12 "Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets".
Men may not know God, may even be evil yet know love:
Luke 11:11: "If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone?..."

The love of God is not a precursor to the love of neighbour and neither supersedes it.
"That ye love one another..."
"Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way, first be reconciled to thy brother, ..."
---Nana on 4/12/11

David, I must have misunderstood your point.

Perhaps you are referring to the seeming dichotomy between "the saved, but no works" crowd, verses a Christian should have works that follow a faith in Christ.

That is a very challenging concept to communicate. If a person loves Christ, they will have works. For some reason that sets off alarms in some people.

If you separate love of neighbor with love of God, then what is our guidance?
leonia

You are correct they need to be together. But if you separate love from the written stament of love then how it is defined is up to the person. There was a church established on the Ten Commandments being done away with who taught adulty was love of your neighbors. Therefore allowed in the New Testament.

The job of the Ten Commandments lead us to JESUS. They tell us we are sinners.

They do not save us they condemn us. So yes they minister death. But after we are born again of the Spirit they tell us what is right and wrong. Read Romans 7
---Samuel on 4/12/11

jerry**Do you personally believe that the Ten Commandments are still in effect or not? If you truly love your neighbor's spouse, do you think it permissible to commit adultery with them?
---
To rephrase the question - do I believe that the ministry of death & condemnation craved on letters of stone is still in effect or has it been replaced by the more glorious ministry of the Spirit? (2 Cor. 3:7,9).

It is in that ministry of the Spirit that we show love towards others but adultery is not love but hate for ones brethren.

You need to think a little deeper before you ask quesions of this nature.
---leonia on 4/12/11

Lutherist, you made very good points. What I believe concerning those who throw the law at other believers, I believe they are very self-righteous. They can do what others cannot. They are saved, the others are still guilty. They will remain self-righteous no matter how much truth is presented concerning the New Covenant. Only God can change a person heart and mind. If they don't change, it is because God does not want to change them and wants them to continue for a purpose that only He knows. The God of Scripture can only be known by those to whom He makes Himself known. They are righteous, only because of the righteousness of Christ that is imputed to them. Otherwise, they are sinners as everyone, since no one can keep the whole law perfect.

Are you suggesting that all of Paul's letters need to torn out of the Bible?
---Rod4Him on 4/11/11

Not at all.
I love Paul's letters, but I don't care for the way they are taught, as if Paul was opposed to the Gospels of Christ.

Many say that Paul taught obedience to God, has nothing to do with one gaining Eternal Life.
If that was what Paul was trying to convey to the world, why would he have written the following, which goes along with what Jesus taught in the Gospels?
(Romans 2:6-7)
"God will repay each person according to what they have done. To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life."

David, Paul was talking in the present tense. You are speaking that somehow salvation can be achieved through works. While I agree that as we grow in the Lord, sin will decrease. David, can you say you will never sin again? Ever? If you do - did you lose your standing with God? **1Jo 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

In its context, 'his commandments' are really 2 -

1) to believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ,
and
2) Love one another.

simply look at 1 John 3:23

"And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment".

It is unfortunate that some believe 'commandments' has always to be the 10 commandments.

"Christians are not all of equal firmness of character, and many weaknesses and offenses are discernable in every one of them, it is also true that many of them fall into sin, but this does not hinder their holiness at all, so long as they sin out of their weakness, not out of deliberate wickedness.

For God has received them and regards them as righteous, through the forgiveness of sins. For I have been baptized, and I believe that Christ, my Lord, has redeemed me from sin by his death and has granted me eternal righteousness and holiness. And let anyone be accursed who does not give Christ the honor of believing that he has been justified and sanctified by His death."

For those who believe that after becoming a Christian, they can now KEEP THE LAW... I suggest the following verse...

(Jas 2:10) "For whoever keeps the whole law but fails in ONE point has become guilty of ALL of it." (RSV)

The only interpretation of this passage is clear! The Law is IMPOSSIBLE to keep! The law is an ALL or NOTHING proposition. Either you are Satan's brother and actually believe that you're Christ's holy equal and are keeping keep Law to the exact letter, or you are like the rest of us and are continually guilty of breaking the ENTIRE Law every single day of our entire lives.

Our continued sinfulness necessarily drives us to Christ ALONE to cover our sin and shame and protect us from judgment.
---Lutherist on 4/11/11

Dear Leonia and Lutherists.

I follow the law of GOD because I love GOD. Not to save myself. Luther wrote the small catachism about obeying the Ten Commandmetns. Not to be saved but because we have been called to be saved.

Galation said the law leads us to JESUS for the law tells us we are sinners. When a person tries to use the law to save themselves then they do not follow Grace. But Grace established keeping of the commandments. 1Jo 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Do you advocate that those who follow GOD break all of the Ten Commandments and it is okay? I do not think so.

Leonia-

If you know what to look for, a False Prophet is easy to spot. He's the person teaching Satan's deceptive false doctrine that we will one day be just like Christ.

This Satanic doctrine denies the ETERNAL UNIQUENESS of Christ. (1Jo 2:22) "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is THE CHRIST." (Re 15:4) "Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? For THOU ALONE ART HOLY"

False Prophets instead, teach the words of Satan, "YOU will be like Christ" "You will be like God". (Ge 3:5) It's the same lie out of the same mouth.

We can never be independantly holy. Our holiness is a gift from Christ who covers us with His own holiness to protect us from judgment.

2Co 12:7
And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.
(lest I should exalted myself)

For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

**Logically, Are these the words of someone who has been set free of sin?

They are the words of one set free from the law of sin and death.

Romans 8:1-4 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh,in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

No, This was the testimony of Paul, when he was a slave to sin, before he was set free of sin.

Paul also says in (Romans 7) that he died to sin.
If someone has died to sin, Sin is no longer their master.
Paul said that you are a slave to sin or a slave to righteosness.

jerry - Perhaps the Message Bible can make clear what is meant in Romans 10:4.

I know what enthusiasm they (modern day law promoters) have for God, but it is misdirected zeal. For they dont understand Gods way of making people right with himself. Refusing to accept Gods way, they cling to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law. For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given. As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.

You may want to think a little deeper when it comes to this kind of thing for Christ has already done everything necessary for a believers salvation.
---leonia on 4/10/11

Leeonia: "Romans 10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes."

If you could set your religious bigotry aside for a moment, you might learn something. Look up the Greek for "end" in Rom 10:4. It does not mean the "destruction" of the law - it means the "goal", the "reason", the "final objective" of the law. But when you have a carnal, lawless mindset, I guess you cling to any excuse for sin you can find.

Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

You have your answer there in 1 John 4:1. Trying the spirits is staying close to God & allowing Him to show you when something is not right. You will feel an uneasiness in your Spirit when the truth is not being taught. The Holy Spirit inside a Christian's heart will guide them to the truth of God's word. Without the guidance of the Holy Spirit, sometimes it would be difficult to know. But He knows & He will alert you.

If ye have love one to another!
Some things are hard to understand, like this!
Love one another! Something so simple, right!

Look at what Christ is saying here. If you love others the way he loves you.
You have fulfilled the law. Hold up now. Are you going to say, no!
This is not what its saying. Why because it too easy?
Well maybe thats because you think you can or do love everyone.

But he said the way I love you. He die for you, can you die for me?
Think about that. Die for me. Im not saying kill yourself for me!
Im saying die for me.

As always may the love of God rest on your shoulders.
May God bless you

They need a leap of faith in the perfect works of Christ. If there was a person who could keep the whole law without sinning, they would not need the perfect works of Christ. I just don't see why you cannot understand this things.

How do we recognize a false prophet?

Isa 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

If they contradict the Old Testament (the law and the testimony), then they are flase prophets.

"Paul was giving his testimony as to who he was before he was born of God."
The above statement is a twisting of Scripture if the second statement presented here is correct

"This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief."
---mima on 4/9/11

David, are you saying if we are true Christians we will never sin again?
---Mikeman on 4/8/11

No, in the beginning stages of the Christian life, we will sin...
but when, and if we are born of God, we can not sin.
There are stages in the life of the Christian, and this is why Jesus used Trees and Wheat to denote the Sons of God in some of his parables.

Why?
The Sons of God, like a tree, begin as a seed and that seed must then take root, and that root must grow, before it becomes a tree.
If that seed does not take root, or that root does not grow,... Will it be called a tree?

How do we know when we have been born again?
We loose the desire to sin.
Where there is no desire, there will be no sin.
---David on 4/9/11

False Prophets ar pictured in Jude as those who work only for themselves. Working to make themselves rich at the cost to the flock.

They also teach that it is okay to live in sin. In Revelation 2:14,15 the Nicolaitans are mentioned as well as those who say fornication is okay. From various sources this group is said to teach that you can sin all you want because GOD will forgive. A type of once saved always saved.

\\Paul was giving his testimony as to who he was before he was born of God.
Can you Show me a verse where he says that those who are born of God will sin?

If you sin, you are a sinner.
Does Jesus say in (John 8:34-35) that the sinner will have Eternal Life?
Yes or No?\\

David, Paul called himself a sinner.

Does Paul have eternal life? Yes or No?

David,
1 John 2 "But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
David, are you saying if we are true Christians we will never sin again? The above verse seems to be in the present tense. please explain what you are saying...

David **Paul was giving his testimony as to who he was before he was born of God.

Your comment is right off the old stable floor!

The verbs in that text are all in the present tense, not the past tense. Those who think their works of rightousness or obedience merits something in the eyes are God are those who have fallen from grace.

(7,14-15) For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not, but what I hate, that do I.

Salvation is in Christ, not in something we must do. Sinners are saved by grace not by works. (Eph. 2:8f)

God showed us his tender Mercy, in this that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us for all have sinned and fallen short, but The Son Remains Forever, for if the Sabbath Year Jubilee given by The Son, then one is free indeed to bear the good fruits.

David, concerning John 8:34. I said it didn't say what you say it says because you are interpreting the passage wrong. Here is why? Because you want to stand for the law. The Judiazer's in Jesus day also did not understand the words of Jesus.
First, the passage is speaking of slavery to sin. Believers are not enslave to sin anymore. Habitual sin. We have been set free. Second, God is Holy and Just, He would never demand anything less that perfection. Jesus here had in mind not physical slavery but slavery to sin (Rom. 6:17,18). The idea of "commits sin" means to practice sin habitually (1 John 3:4,8,9). The ultimate bondage is not political or economic enslavement but spiritual bondage to sin and rebellion against God.
---Mark_V. on 4/8/11

Fortunately for Christians, their sin has been paid for in full at the Cross and they have the righteousness of Christ credited to them.

Ga 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

I get more than a little concerned when I read such things as "the same angel messenger stands by my side instructing me in the visions of the night, as stands by me instructing me in the visions of the day", an angel repeated her commission: "make known to others what I have revealed to you",,,and in June of the following year her angel informed her that 'time is almost finished', etc. from Ellen G. white Life Sketches.

You find much the same kind of thing in the writings of occultist!

Did all of her doctrinal views square with the Bible? Really doubtful!!!!!!

David, there is many lies going around. One is that a person born again becomes sinless. You bring forward John 8:34, the only problem with that passage is that it does not say what you said it said.---Mark_V. on 4/7/11

Mark
(John 8:34) says, "Jesus said", it does not say "David said".
Now since I have established the fact that it was not me, but Jesus who said it, are you trying to say that you don't believe what he said?

//the antichrist and teachings thereof will be hard to resist by most ---aka on 4/7/11//

I agree with aka on this. Keep in mind Jesus said in John Chapter 17 "Thy word is truth." and in Matthew Chapter 5, "My sheep hear my voice and the voice of a stranger they will not follow."

I think we forget that God's voice is His word and His word is His voice and anything outside of his word is truth mingled with a lie, and a half truth is a lie. Those who have the word stored inside of them, it will be really hard for satan to deceive them BUT HE WILL TRY - so be alert, your adversary the devil prowls about like a roaring lion seeking whom he MAY devour.

I didn't use your definition, because that aspect of the Anti-Christ, is not helpful in Identifying the False teachings in the church.
---David on 4/7/11

i agree with both of you. however, the third definition is an amalgamation of the first two...opponent of Jesus Christ.

the antichrist and teachings thereof will be hard to resist by most because antichrist is smooth, pleasing, and hard to resist. he may turn into a Hitler but he will come in smoother than a Solomon.

David, there is many lies going around. One is that a person born again becomes sinless. You bring forward John 8:34, the only problem with that passage is that it does not say what you said it said. Second, you mention the Antichrist was a "he."
"
"Anti-Christ", and "he" will be a substitute Christ for those who have rejected Jesus Christ."

Where in Scripture does it say the Antichrist is a "he?"
What does the Bible really teach about the mysterious subject? The word "Antichrist" or "Antichrists," is found only five times in Scripture, and all these references are in two books before the Book of Revelation. 1st and 2nd John.
---Mark_V. on 4/7/11

Actually, the Greek prefix ANTI- means "substitute or alternative."
---Cluny on 4/6/11

Cluny
God is Good, Satan is Evil
Jesus is The Truth, Satan is a Liar.
God is Light, Satan is in the darkness.
I give these examples to show that the Anti-Christ is the opposite of Christ.
An important fact to note, when trying to Identify a false teaching.

However, I will not argue your point, because your definition is also correct. There are many facets of this word, "Anti-Christ", and he will be a substitute Christ for those who have rejected Jesus Christ.
I didn't use your definition, because that aspect of the Anti-Christ, is not helpful in Identifying the False teachings in the church.

They are the opposite of a true prophet, the one speaks truth and the other speaks lies.
---Eloy on 4/6/11

1st and BIGGEST - does the prophecy line up with the Bible? If not, it is false. The others are: Does it line up with your spirit man? Does it encourage (mend and strenthen up), edify (build up), and exhort (fire up)? Does it come to pass? If none of these are the case, it is false.
---Leslie on 4/6/11

The key to this mystery is found in the word "Anti-Christ".
What does the prefix "Anti", in the word "Anti-Christ" mean?
Anti means, to be "opposite of".

If the "Anti-Christ", is the opposite of Jesus Christ, his teachings will follow suit, and they will also be the opposite of the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Example:
Many churches teach their people that even though they sin, they are not slaves to sin, when Jesus taught
(John 8:34)
"Everyone who sins is a slave to sin."
