Donna: re:"experiment"

Good advice!

Pro 8:17 I love them that love me, and those that seek me early shall find me.
---jerry6593 on 5/25/11

Here's an experiment to try. Spend the first few minutes of every day in prayer and the Bible.
Then see what you are too busy to get done that day. Chances are, nothing (or at least nothing essential).
---Donna66 on 5/24/11

//People should see Christ in you....every MINUTE OF EVERY DAY! ---kathr4453 on 4/25/11

What if some people don't and that person who always thinks that he/she is in Christ will not listen?
---aka on 5/23/11

StevenG, what church do you go to?
---John on 5/23/11

Leslie: "'Christians' today want a relationship with God on THEIR terms", etc.

Amen! Many on this website believe that Jesus came to save them from the LAW - not from their SINS. Thus, they think that they are freed from God's rules - free to sin with impugnity.
---jerry6593 on 5/21/11

StevenG,
I spend 24/7 with G-d!!!

All day! All night! All of my life!!!

I agree with you, since there are virtually NO Christians in cushy Bourgoise countries like The UK, US, Australia, Canada.

You may find some Christians in Africa, Middle East, India,China.

But in The Commonwealth its ALL just a bunch of Psuedo Carnal, Facades of Pious Christians that are Married to the world!

Thus your blog describes these Apostate Christian look alikes.

They fill the pews and get entertained. Then Glutton the Fatted Pig of Potluck and go home. That's it they're done(Christianity over). THEN... "Hey Martha any sales at Macys or Harrahs(UK)."

WHEN YOU MARRY THE WORLD... YOU DIVORCED THE CHRIST!
---John on 5/21/11

We all spend time doing the things that are most important to us.
If God is really important to us, we will spend some time in prayer and reading His Word written for us.

It's not so difficult to "walk with God". He's walking with you every minute if you are a born again child of His. Keep Him in mind as you drive, work, study, socialize, do chores and errands. Remember you are always in HIS presence.
---Donna66 on 5/21/11

walking with God does not necessarily mean being inside the church or always holding the bible.walking with God can simply means living a life of obedience to His words, reverence Him in our life
---mj on 4/24/11

I do not think it can be said any better!
---willa5568 on 5/20/11

he answer too often is that they don't (Have time to walk with God). It's actually that they don't take time for God. I believe it is a major reason why so much of "the church" is ineffective. I believe it to be a fulfillment of prophesy, one of which is that men will be lovers of pleasure rather then God.

Leslie has a very good answer IMO.
I do however think it is possible to walk with God and do many things listed, but only when spending time with God comes BEFORE all those things. If God isn't first, then whatever comes first, even if apparantly good, is idolatry.
---Christina on 5/20/11

Steven G, you are right, people nowadays spend time in other things and very little time learning about God. Some go to sleep just thinking of how they will answer someone they hate. They even look for you in blogs to bring shame to your name. But all they do is give evidence of who they really are. Bad trees bearing evil fruit.
"You will know them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorns, or figs from thistles? So, every sound tree bears good fruit, "but the bad tree bears evil fruit." A sound tree cannot bear evil fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit" ( Matt. 7:16-18).
---Mark_V. on 5/20/11

If, as Paul writes, God is the savior of all mankind, then all mankind must eventually be saved. Otherwise, Paul has made a false statement. Simple as that.
---John.usa on 5/15/11

If he wrote it....it's simple enough....that you could post it. It is not there in "your specific words".
You run John when no one chases.
Isaiah 55:5
Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not, and nations that knew not thee shall run unto thee because of the LORD thy God, and for the Holy One of Israel, for he hath glorified thee.
1 John 4:14
---Trav on 5/16/11

Kathr, I will answer with the same words that Donna66 gave to you:

I will not repeat myself a 3rd time. You have convinced yourself that Calvinists/Reformed believe and act a certain way and you are incapable of hearing anything to the contrary. And you will cling to you vengeful insults and bitterness no matter what!
---Donna66 on 4/25/11"

The same words need to be repeated.
---Mark_V. on 4/28/11

"Christians" today want a relationship with God on THEIR terms, so they can make up the rules of how to serve God. God in His Word has given us the rules of how to serve Him. The problem is "Christians" do NOT want God on His terms, but on theirs, which will NOT work. We either serve God His way and have a relationship with Him His way, or we are NOT Christians, and have it WRONG. It is NOT "I serve God my way, and you serve God yours" or "We all relate to God differently" - this is called "secular humanism" and is NOT Biblical.
---Leslie on 4/28/11

StevenG, It doesn't sound like you are describing Christians. Just Carnal Psuedo Bourgeose Phonies!

Generally they only talk about Him when they are at their social clubs called Church, but certainly NOT during the Potluck. It would be considered impolite to mention Him there.

SO... THEY DO NOT HAVE, NOR DO THEY SEEK G-D TO WALK WITH.

FOR AFTER ALL HE WOULD JUST BE IN THEIR WAY!
---John on 4/25/11

yes, markv or should I say mary, sin is at your door all the time. You answer that door every time you falsely accuse others. You answer that door every time you twist others words, or incite them into an argument. Or make horrible comments to them because they ask you questions where you have contradicted yourself or scripture. Every time you think your doctrine is the only doctrine. Every time you place calvinism above the Word of God. Every time you pick and choose scripture and leave out other scripture just as important. Its SIN lurking at your door and you answer it day in and day out.

Repent!
---kathr4453 on 4/25/11

Your daily Christian walk needs to be one that doesn't bring reproach on Christianity.
To be so heavenly minded that you're no earthly good is being "unbalanced"
Nobody wants to hear it 24/7 and neither do I!
Is it strange that I have other interests that require a great deal of attention?

I admit I'm a sinner in great need of Christ everyday. I do not walk the perfect walk, I fail many times. I do not do all that God ask of me every second of my life. I'm weak in this body of mine but I am growing each day and learning each day, and finding out more each day about my Lord and Savior. And when I do sin, I believe by faith that Christ is my Advocate before God, and that He will sustain me guiltless until the day of the Lord Jesus Christ.
---Mark_V. on 4/25/11

Just knowing your sin is forgiven, 1st John stated a baby-child knows that.

But to be a young man ( overcomer)Rev...see 7 letters.

Cluny, I agree with you in your answer. If God wanted each one of us who are saved to spend every second walking with Him, He would have glorified us at the moment of our salvation and taken us with Him to walk with Him every second.
---Mark_V. on 4/22/11

I sure hope I'm walking with Him every second. I know I am. And He shopps with Me too!

If Christ Lives IN YOU,and You In HIM, He is there EVERY second of Every Day. Every though is brought into Subjection, every person we come in contact with, work or play People should see Christ in you....every MINUTE OF EVERY DAY!

\\Cluny, **If you're not walking with God every waking minute...you're missing the point**\\

Please re-read what I said in context.
---Cluny on 4/24/11

Everyone has a different relationship with Christ. Our experiences are different. Like anything else. If you love it, you will spend time with it. You will take care of it,nurture it.Do whatever to keep it. Are you saying we love our pets, animals, food, computers etc...more than God. I hope not.But that is pretty close to the truth. I think people really feel spiritual and some love toward God on Sundays. This is a carryover from days gone by. We wanted to separate our christian life from our everyday life. It does not work like that. We should be spending some time everyday worshipping, praising, loving on and reverencing God.

Send a Free Happy Birthday Ecard

Well, how many "Christians" do I personally know so I can say what they are doing? (c: I can boast that I am the one walking with God, while I self-righteously look down on others who do not copy-cat what I suppose and dictate is walking with God. So, each day, I need to wake up to God and discover what He has me doing in sharing with Him in His peace (Colossians 3:15). Cluny, **If you're not walking with God every waking minute...you're missing the point**
We have a few of these in our midst, they're called fanatic Def- an unbalanced obsessive devotion to a cause..!
If you row with only one oar, you'll go in circles!
One reason I don't embrace "religion"!
Most of us make time for other (honorable) pursuits!
---1st_cliff on 4/23/11

Christians should be doing all of those activities WITH God, not without him. As far as alone time with Jesus, this should be whenever and wherever prayer and Bible reading and worship is called for. Some people may need to set aside an appointment time each day in order to nurture this relationship.
---Eloy on 4/22/11
As rare as it might be, I have to agree with Eloy on this. 1 Corinthians 10:31 clearly infers this, "Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatsoever you do, do all to the glory of God." Our every waking moment should be spent "with the Lord."

Cluny, I agree with you in your answer. If God wanted each one of us who are saved to spend every second walking with Him, He would have glorified us at the moment of our salvation and taken us with Him to walk with Him every second. But He didn't. He permits us to continue in life in Christ, not only to be an example for others, but for many other reasons. And not all of them is walking with Him. He understands our weaknesses and failures while we are still here. A person has to live, buy a house if he can, and spend time studying the Word, taking care of family and so many other things. He should always take time to learn more about God, but everyone is different in their circumstances.
---Mark_V. on 4/22/11

I do spend time with God many times a day. I have an online sisters meeting gonig over scripture on certain days, I also listen & read from the scriptures online & have private prayer times. in fact I spend more time with God then I do with my husband!

\\That's why communal living in monasteries and convents began. There, there is much time to walk with God. :-)
---John.usa on 4/22/1\\

Those who say this have never visited monasteries and know nothing about the monastic life.

Monasticism is about walking with God even while you are chopping wood, cooking meals, scrubbing floors, and cleaning out the chicken houses.
---Cluny on 4/22/11

They never do, and that is why according to stats. that most "Christians" know nothing about the Bible, God, Jesus, Salvation, or Christianity. We would rather have the Paster teach us (wrong I might add), then to read and study for ourselves.
---Leslie on 4/22/11

Speak for yourself, StevenG.

If you are not walking with God every waking minute of every day even with your family, friends, neighbors, social groups, shopping, entertainment, vacations, ipods, computers, internet, video games, TV, radio, work, school, church, education, bible study, etc, etc,--in other words, taking Him with you on these quotian activities--you're totally missing the point of the Gospel life.

Or what exactly did you have in mind by "walk with God"?
