Obama Israel 1967 Borders

How do you feel about Obama telling Israel to go back in time to 1967 borders? Personally, he is not protecting the US boarders why should he care about Israel?

Remember that the barbaric Muslim hoards not only want Israel destroyed, but the West (primarily the US and the UK) as well. And, even now, our embarassing US president is actively supporting the Muslim Brotherhood. God save us!
---jerry6593 on 5/28/11

Donna, I believe as you concerning Israel borders, Our president has no right to set the limits of land for any country. Second, what Israel took was in accord with the plan of God or else it would never have happend. Third, God is in control of Israel, so Israel is where God wants her to be at this moment of time.
---Mark_V. on 5/28/11

//I can't discern what God would instruct Israel to do at this juncture and I'm not sure you can either.//

Let me see if I can try. He would probably tell her to rest in Him, but she does not know who Him is. Therefore, that really makes the situation look dire.

I believe in a God that was with us in the flesh and will come again in the flesh.

Many Christians and religious Jews and the rest of the world will see it as the hand of God. Yet, some of them will still neither understand nor bow.
---aka on 5/27/11

There has been much arguement over wether or not this Israel is the Zion of scripture or just a Geo-politcal entity drawn up by the British.

Even among the Jews this question has arised.
---John on 5/27/11

Aka,
From June 5th through June 10th 1967, the world watched in awe as Israel fought off Egypt, Syria and Jordan, who then as now, were determined to deny statehood to Israel. In 7 days they handily accomplished this, though outnumbered and out gunned by their enemies. Many Christians and religious Jews saw it as the hand of God. (incidentally, Israel immediately and voluntarily returned a good bit of the land it won.) There were numerous accounts of miracles that occurred during those 7 days.

Now God may have have changed His will for Israel since then. The politics are complex. I can't discern what God would instruct Israel to do at this juncture and I'm not sure you can either.

//aka-- If Israel becomes defenseless, will Ha-mas then say "OK, since you are defenseless, we will grant you the right to exist? Not in this present world!//

No, Donna, when enemies finally create a 'defenseless' Israel, they will attack. that is the pointt. the 'defenseless' Israel, through Elohim, and not Isreali diplomats, soldiers, citizens will prevail.

On the other hand, a defenseless nation that is somehow never attacked. hmmmm...did God ever hold you back or something back from you in this lifetime?
---aka on 5/27/11

aka-- If Israel becomes defenseless, will Ha-mas then say "OK, since you are defenseless, we will grant you the right to exist? Not in this present world!

It's not up to us to figure out how the Jews will come to true salvation. I think God already has a plan for that (however, I don't pretend to know exactly what He has in mind).
---Donna66 on 5/27/11

as i said before, for an individual to be saved, total defenselessness is needed.

Mat 16:25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

the same is with those of Israel.

If man perceives the saving graces are of men, how does that glorify Elohim?

To them, Yahweh is God. However, in Elohim is salvation. If the current paradigm in Israel is not shifted, how will they come to know true salvation?

Rom 8:13, Php 1:21

Warwick is correct, to the Muslim world surrounding this tiny country that is 1-tenth of 1 percent of the Middle East, no land concession will be sufficient.
I was hoping the president would simply urge peace and let Israel go about its way including Jerusalem as its capital, ultimately clearing the way for the prophetic and third rebuilding of Temple Mount.
Warwick, I thought I would never see God's public and direct intervention in worldly events in my lifetime, but Iran is literally playing with fire (from the sky) and dabbling in its own annihilation. With or without the U.S., God won't stand for it.
---Larry on 5/27/11

President Obama would do well to consider these verses.
Joel 3:1-2 " For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
2- I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land."

Nurse Robert--//The entire gist of his speech was that Israel needed to give up land for the Palestinians.//

No disagreement here.
And they have.
But go back to the 1967 borders and THEN give up land? No way.
---Donna_Smith on 5/27/11

The president may have been technically correct that the borders with land swaps is identical to the discussions under "Dubya", but he used no wisdom is his public postulate giving Bebe no choice but to slam him in the Oval Office gaggle.
His director of Faith-based ministries, a charismatic from Chicago, should have given him a lesson in bible history. The president is consistent in U.S. policy and has increased Israel defense funding, but his lack of wisdom in speaking to the issue is alarming.
Meanwhile the wing nuts over at Fox conveniently forget Bush twice endorsed pre-1967 borders as a basis for negotiations in 2005. They are Pharisees in their hypocrisy.

Israel's Islamic enemies are on record (many times) saying they do not want peace with Israel but wish only to see Israel wiped off the map. How can any peace be possible with such bigoted, violent enemies?

It is interesting to remember that Israel is the only Democracy in the middle east, one where women have full rights. Also that 20% of Israel's population are nonJewish. And that they have full rights and hold high positions. People also have freedom of religion.

Can anyone name an Islamic country which offers nonMuslim's and women such freedom?

Nurse Robert-- Saying "There should be an end to the occupation that began in 1967.... " is quite a different thing than saying they should go back to 1967 borders. Bush, like Obama, believed the two parties should mutually agree. He did not try to set some fixed border for the state of Israel in the belief that the Palestinians would THEN negotiate with people they have publically sworn to eradicate.

Alan, Matthew 13:10 records His parable of the sower. The apostles asked why He spoke to the people in parables. He said He spoke this way so those who are ever seeing and hearing but who do not understand would not understand this parable. But those who are spiritually minded, and seekers, would pursue Him, and what He said, come to understand and be saved. "Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find,..."

He was closing the door on doubters, sceptics, and cynics. But if they should wake up and honestly seek that is a different matter.

If you wish to see the Bible as a human work then don't let me stop you. But I accept it for what it says it is-The word of God, just as Jesus and the apostles did.

Gord: I said nothing about President Obama's color. :) Obviously, that superficial matter is on your mind & clearly shows what's in your heart. Your wild & slanderous accusations (gossip) parallels Harold Camping's false predictions. Yes, out of the abundance of "OUR" hearts we all speak! Scripture is a double-edged sword, cutting both ways, & pertains to everyone, i.e., YOU, me, the president, etc. Instead of damning President Obama, you'd do well to examine yourself!

You're so sanctimoniously religious Mima. What does God's word (Bible/Scripture) say in the matter? Do you believe the religious superstition (opinions) of "a group of people" or is your trust in the rock solid truths of Scripture?

---Francis on 5/26/11

There is a group of people who believe that natural disasters, tornadoes, floods come to this country every time we badmouth Israel.
While I am not in total agreement there does seem to be some correlation between the two. One of the one unspoken test that I put Christian people through(almost unconsciously) is what they think about, and their treatment of Israel.
---mima on 5/26/11

Leon, This, man, has nothing to do with his colour or anything. It has to do with what he believes and thinks. The Scriptures state that out of the abundance of the heart a man speaks. I don't mean that one can know every single little thought that crosses his mind. Rather, we can know what he thinks in regards to what he believes concerning GOD and HIS Ways. He studied Marxism for 4 years in Chicago. He is trying to run this country patterned after Marxism and Communism to rein in this country under the establishment of the Anti-Christ's New World Order. You don't see it now. You will one day.

"He hates America as America was truly meant to be."? Hmmm! In your opinion, just how was it meant to be Gord? I think you need to send an urgent kneemail (prayer) to make an appointment to talk to an anger management counselor at spiritual rumor control. Make one for Mima too!

True Ms. Donna! Presidents are unjustly blamed for somethings because of what "some people" think they know about world events, etc. Presidents are political whipping boys the "know it alls" love to beat up on & crucify when they don't have a clue as to what's really happening.
---Leon on 5/25/11

Alan, the world is Gods to do with as He pleases. It pleased Him to give the land to the Israelites. Being God's gift they have absolute claim to it. No human claim compares to this.

Why should we care what Cynics say? God's word is either Truth or fraud, God is either Creator or not. Jesus is God the Son, who died for our sins or He is not, and did not. As a Christian I have accepted the Bible is God's never changing Truth for all mankind. What are man's opinions in comparison to God's word? Nothing!

If you wish to believe the Bible is a human construct that is your privilege. But it makes no sense.

What documents do the 'doubters' have which cover such a span of time and have the integrity of God's word? None!

And the cynic would say that the Israelites in wrting their history, would say that God directed them

Now, did God really direct them, or was it a justification that they made up (as many have made up such justifications) ??

Now having said that, please take a look at the some of the characterizations that have been made with respect to this President and compare them with any other, in recent history.

I realize to say that race plays a role in any part of the venom that is spewed towards the President is not what most Americans would like to read or hear. Yet, to dismiss the idea out of hand is also to dismiss the history of America and the reality of race in America.

I suppose that I am naively thinking that professing Christians would be more open and perhaps more truthful.

Although politics is involved, much of the outrages are not just politics.

If any other President came into the White House with America's reputation at the lowest point in decades, the worst recession in 80 years, two wars raging and hundreds of thousands of job losses per month, most reasonable citizens would express a measure of understanding and patience.

The fact is, most of those who question Obama's legitimacy and disparage every breath he takes, are hiding their racist attitude beneath the multitude of unfounded claims.

In two and a half years of Obamas Presidency, problems that have existed before he was born are attributed to him. The concept of fairness ought to be apart of what it means to be Christian.

If I remember correctly Palestine was divided by a clear majority vote of the UN in 1947. The state of Israel was formed and declared its independence in 1948. Israel was then attacked by the standing armies of 5 Arab states but miraculously Israel (hardly even yet a functioning country) defeated them.

Since then Israel has been under constant attack by surrounding Islamic countries which have made unequivocal statements that they don't want peace but wish to wipe Israel off the map.

History tell us that the Palestinians live in Trans Jordan. They were forced to leave and settled in the area they are now in.

QUESTION...

Why has absolutely nobody has asked the Jordanians to give up the land that was formerly Palestine (i.e Trans-Jordan) Why only Israel, who inherited these people from Jordan.

Isn't it Jordans problem and not Israel?

As far as I know, NOBODY (not even the Israelis) are saying the Palestinians shouldn't have a state of their own! There never was a state of Palestine to begin with, but they are certainly justified in wanting one now.
Yet the Palestinians (Hamas etc) boldly proclaim they want Israel wiped off the map... "wiped off the map" doesn't sound like a willingness to negotiate.

Cluny-- You say
//the modern state of Israel has NOTHING to do with Biblical Israel//
But you keep referring to the Biblical Israel as if it did!
For example this comment: //Israel's borders swelled and shrank many times in the pages of the Bible, and there's no reason why the modern state of Israel's borders will not do the same thing.//
or this: //But old Israel WAS divided into two nations in the OT: Israel and Judah.
Why should it be any different today?//

Which is it? Israel was the historical home of the Jewish people and the 1948 declaration was meant to return it to them? Or Israel
is a modern independent nation divorced from it's religious and historical past?

What if we all went back to a pre '67 border(s)? God determined Israel's boundries, and so we should respect that. It's not necessary to honor their rebellious anti-Christ government though. Genesis 15:18-21, Ezekiel 47:13-20.

\\He hates America as America was truly meant to be.\\

And how was America truly meant to be, Gordon? Can you tell us precisely? Or are you just spouting buzz words?

** If Israel becomes a divided nation, **

But old Israel WAS divided into two nations in the OT: Israel and Judah.

Why should it be any different today?

\\It is quite possible that we could see a major clash between Islam and Israel in the very near future.\\

Well, DUH!

What do you think has been happening since 1948?

Of course, the modern state of Israel has NOTHING to do with Biblical Israel, much less the spiritual Israel of prophecy, but that's the subject for another thread.

Christ is risen!

Obama's true colors are coming to show. Obama is at heart a Moslem. Events are moving fast but Israel will stand firm. It is quite possible that we could see a major clash between Islam and Israel in the very near future. If we do Obama will lead this country to the side of Islam. And if there is any influential Jews reading this blog please prepare yourself for what comes. A major clash would bring temporary unity among the Arabs thus helping quiet the masses.

Obama is a wicked leader. He hates America as America was truly meant to be. And everything that he does and stands for provokes the Wrath of GOD. Obama is a reflection of the condition of most of this country. If Israel becomes a divided nation, GOD will divide this nation in return with an Earthquake that would split this nation in half. Obama is doing his faithful best to help usher in the Anti-Christ and that Beast's New World Order kingdom.

Surely Israel realizes now, that they have no friend in the United States despite Presidential claims to the contrary.

Surely also you would think the US would wake up before the next election and see what a degenerate the foolish have allowed as our talking head. Muslim in thought, principle and action.

May GOD deliver us from his atrocity's, and curses on our children/grandchildren.

Perhaps he sees the recent unrest in the middle east as an opportunity to broker a peace between the Palestinians and Israel...and make himself look good.

But the Palestinians don't want peace! They want to "wipe Israel off the map" and say so bluntly. Obama doesn't seem see the foolishness of saying to an aggressor, "Please don't attack me any more. I want peace and I'll give up everything to get it." All the territory Israel has beyond the 1967 borders, they acquired legitimately and legally. Why should they give up that land without the assurance of any concessions from the other side?

Surely Israel realizes now, that they have no friend in the United States despite Presidential claims to the contrary.
