My Wife Rages And Lies

I am a Christian that married a Chinese woman that I immigrated to the U.S. back in 2007. She rages against me, is emotionally abusive, is a pathological liar, and uses others for her own gain. She refuses to live with me and doesn't work.

Where you a christian at that point? did she claim to be a christian? and are you sure the fault lies entirely with her? this kind of bloggs really are not a place to discuss this kind of questions, since majority amongst us will give you heir own emotional answer, and not what is God's desire, and mostly the one crying for help HERE knows this is the safest way NOT to ghet the partner involved. so bassicaly a one-way alley

\\It just shortens the time a person has to be in the U.S. to apply for naturalization.
---Trish on 6/3/11\\

I never said it didn't shorten the time.

But you did say this: \\It sounds like she may have used you to gain citizenship,\\

And this sounds like you thought it DID automatically confer citizenship. Many people think it does.

StrongAxe and Cluny: I never said that marriage gave automatic citizenship. It just shortens the time a person has to be in the U.S. to apply for naturalization.

Jim. Sorry to have to tell you this truth: You brought this on yourself. You should have checked this before you married this woman. Arrangements like this are usually about the money and very wordly. Some men marry these Chinese women because of what they have heard about Asian women, You know what I am talking about, too. I won't say, right now. Well. It backfired on you. When you are disobedient to the Lord, anything can and will happen.Living with a christian is hard enough, to do. Living with an unbeliever is worse. Perhaps next time. Give a USA citizen a decent chance. There are many good, christian US born women, who need a man.Widows, single women are all available. Why go to a foreign land? Look in your own back yard.

\\Cluny: According to the "Guide to Naturalization" pamphlet, being married to a U.S. citizen qualifies a person to apply for naturalization.

Trish, do you get the difference between "applying for naturization" and "automatic citizenship"?

Anyone who is here legally and has permanent resident status may apply for naturalization.

Trish:

Marriage just makes you eligible to apply for citizenship. You don't get it automatically. In fact, you must first obtain legal resident status (a Green Card).

You must have a FBI/Interpol background check to ensure you are not a criminal anywhere, and a physical to ensure you don't have several diseases (TB, syphilis, HIV, etc.). This process can take almost a year. The card can be revoked if you leave the country for a year, or are convicted of a misdemeanor or felony. Then you have to wait 3 years before you can apply for citizenship.

You must also prove you didn't just marry to get citizenship - that's immigration fraud. If you marry and don't live with your spouse, they will want a good explanation as to why not.

jim...Did you expect by marrying an oriental woman that she would be more submissive to you? Were American women not submissive enough? This is what I have found to be true in most men who look outside the USA for a wife.
---KarenD on 6/2/11

Trish, marriage does not confer American citizenship. It might make it easier to emigrate to the USA, but that's all.
---Cluny on 6/2/11

We kind-hearted saints learn the hard way sometimes, and we are destroyed by the sinners that we have trusted. Tell her to become a born-again Christian as you are, and if she refuses to surrender to Christ then she is antiChrist, and her refusing to live with you is abandonment and she is neglecting the conjugal duties in the marriage, and you have legal grounds to divorce her: "But if the unbelieving depart, let them depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such: but God has called us to peace." I Cor.7:15.
---Eloy on 6/1/11

If she is an unbeliever, and refuses to live with you, let her go. You are freed from your marital obligation to her. It sounds like she may have used you to gain citizenship, with no intentions of building a marriage. Call a divorce lawyer and protect yourself. Depending on the state in which you live, she may be entitled to half your property in a divorce.
