1. Seek God first. Do and say everything to glorify him.
2. Get to know God by reading the bible from beginning to end - even if its a chapter every day.
3. Hang around other christians (fellowship) even for only a few minutes a day.
4. Pray often asking for more time with him. Talk with him as though he was walking next to you.
5. Be patient with your requests.
6. Know God better by helping others. If you have access to the internet, do an online bible search for "one another," "each other," "encourag," and "comfort." What you learn to do to others, God will do to you.
7. Keep God foremost on your mind. (worth repeating)
God Bless You.

GOD would not want you to suffer want. Take some time each day to read your Bible. Carry a small bible with you and read and pray as you have time. On a bus during lunch, early in the morning and at night. Do you work seven days a week.
One day can be devoted to GOD so that you can spend more time with Him. This is what he asked in the Ten Commandments.
When I first came to know GOD I read a lot yet still carried on a life at college. I just did not watch TV or go out partying.

The answer to your question, is built into your relationship with God
Leviticus 23:3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation, ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.
A right relationship with God: God has already set aside special time to spend with you.
Ezekiel 46:3 Likewise the people of the land shall worship at the door of this gate before the LORD in the sabbaths and in the new moons.
Acts 13:44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.
Notice that it is GOD who has made time for you, not you making time for him

It is not that you have not gotten an answer from God. You don't know and when God is speaking to you. This is because you are a new christian. You need a mentor or someone to disciple(teach) you the things you need to know. A good pastor, mature friend, sister would do,just fine. A good praying partner is nice to have also.Being saved takes time, patience, a lot of study and prayer. Little by little you will begin to grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ.GBU

If you drive to work get a tape or CD with the Bible on it and listen as you go to and from your job. If you ride a bus get something small enough to fit in a purse or pocket with an earphone for liastening so no one else can hear and listen to the Bible that way. When my children were small I got up an hour early to read my Bible and pray before I got them up for breakfast and school. God wouldn't have you quit your job if you need it. Pray and ask God to help you make time. God Bless I will pray for you. Praise the Lord you now know your God.

I agree with Scott. Write a scripture on something and read it throughout the day. Ask God to speak to you through that verse. It's like Joshua 1:8 says, "Meditate therein day and night..."
Meditate in Hebrew means, "to think on, mutter, speak".
As you meditate expect revelation, but also ask for confirmation via other verses to make sure it lines up with the bible.

Now that time is limited you have to balance "God time" and work time and other responsiblities. Don't just look at quantity but also quality. Also, God is with and works on you throughout the entire day, he never leaves you. You can work for God throughout the entire day at work, chores, what ever you are doing. Maybe write a verse on something that you will continuously see throughout the day. Jeremiah 29:11 "'For I know the plans I have for you' declares the lord 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and future.'"

Read one scripture at a time and memorize that. Start with the Gospel of John. You can take 30 minutes each night after work and read the bible and pray. God makes time for us, so we can make time for Him, amen? Plus the Apostle Paul says if you don't work, you don't eat. You need your job, don't quit. God will work with you on this. I will be praying for you.

\\And I would suggest that you closely read the Bible rather than judge how God acts in your life and those around you. I make this statement cognizance of the fact that the Bible says all our righteousness is as filthy rags before the Lord!\\
If mima really believed this, he wouldn't be talking so much about all the people he thinks he prayed into salvation.
And I didn't say, "Judge." I said, "See."
Glory to Jesus Christ!

Right now, we can read the Bible together, then >
"'Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.'" (Matthew 11:28-30)
With Jesus, we learn how to love God and care for any and all people as ourselves. And in this loving we have Jesus Christ's "rest for your souls." So, God bless you to do this, not only to read this (c: Jesus is gentle and humble, so in His love we have Jesus guiding us in His gentle and humble emotions. But Satan's passions and drives are dictatorial to seek pleasures that do not truly satisfy us.

God bless you! Seek Him first, (as it seems you have the heart to do), and He will direct your path.I'd recommend spending time in the Word and prayer first thing in the morning, best to start your day with Hi, and before sleep. You can pray anywhere, anytime, as you travel to work, as you do simple chores. Listen to the Spirits promptings to talk with Him. Although He knows all, He desires you to talk with Him about all things (pray)

Knowing God comes not only through reading the Bible, but seeing how He acts in your life and those of others around you.
If you want time to read your Bible, you can always make it.
Glory to Jesus Christ.
