The only thing that comes to mind is.
Is it easier to pick up the bible and read it or leave it there on the shelf?
It's easier just to leave it there!

Just so you can understand the great effort it takes just to make you pick it up!
I'll go as far as to say the real strength come in reading it.
Again not only do I believe, I know! Only God can make you.

Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

Stop right now!
Lord of the harvest, please send forth more labourers!
God loves you!
Peace!

Sorry mark_V, but being born to sinful parents is not a death sentence. being tempted is not a death sentence, only SIN ( TRANGRESSION OF THE LAW) carries a death sentence.

By your flawed logic all new borns are thus condemned to hell because they are born with a sin nature.

If by "easy" you mean which takes less effort, then being lost is far easier.

But the life of the unsaved is often far from easy!
With no constraints on the use of alcohol, drugs, sex, the practice of gambling and other destructive habits, life can become downright miserable.
Without the Lord to turn to and depend upon, any stress may become a crisis. And what comes after death is a fearful unknown.

Matthew 15:24: "But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel."

Point to ponder, why it does not read, '...but unto the lost sheep of the house of Adam.?'

How much WORK did these guys have t put in trying to get away with SIN?

I like the quote from Judge Judy and Ronald Reagan (I think) "If you tell the truth you do not need a good memory"
---Scott on 6/13/11

Francis, I read what you said, and feel that you are wrong when you said,

"It is much easier to be saved. The bible says that the wags of SIN is death. It takes HARD WORK to be lost. You have to put in extra time just to be lost. SIN IS WORK."

The descendants of Adam after the fall did not have to put extra time to be lost, they are born lost and condemned already, which is the reason they are in very much need of Christ.
The wages of sin is death, and the reason everyone dies. But in Christ we have eternal life. If it is so easy, why are so many heading to hell? Or are you one who doesn't believe in hell?

It is easier to be lost. Just following along with the crowd down the wide road is a piece of cake.

Going out on a limb and taking the time and effort to learn the truth for yourself is tough.

It takes a lot of courage to get down on your knees to seek God and ask for wisdom and truth knowing that you could be on the narrow road without your friends and family.

Matthew 7:13 "Enter through the narrow gate, for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many.

14 How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few.

It sounds like it is a whole lot easier to be lost.

"Good understanding gains favor,
But the way of the unfaithful is hard."
(Proverbs 13:15)

"'Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.'" (Matthew 11:29-30)

But this is not just "hard", but "impossible with men" > "But He said, 'The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.'" (Luke 18:27) And ones fool themselves into "salvation" which depends on them, instead of on God, so it does not get easier and better.

The nicest people have found themselves dealing with the aftermath of positions they had intention of getting in.

I think you mean:
The nicest people have found themselves dealing with the aftermath of positions they had intention of getting AWAY WITH.

\\How mych work, planning and scheeming has to be doen just to commit one act of adultery?\\

We all have had our moments of weakness in one way or the other. The nicest people have found themselves dealing with the aftermath of positions they had intention of getting in.

As one old lady put it, "Bad girls don't get pregnant by accident."

Glory to Jesus Christ.

It is much easier to be saved. The bible says that the wags of SIN is death. It takes HARD WORK to be lost. You have to put in extra time just to be lost. SIN IS WORK.

Take for example adultery How mych work, planning and scheeming has to be doen just to commit one act of adultery?
Where as one who is saved has to do nothing No scheming, no hiding, no plotting
just believe God and obey him. 99% of all God's commandments require you 6o do NOTHING
No stealing
no lieing
no adultery
no killing
no making idols
no covetting
no false worship
no work one day each week
no taking his name in vain
no disrespecting parents
just do NOTHING and be saved
or WORK and be lost

Let me say it this way.

Is it much easier to give in to what the flesh wants or do what is right no matter what the cost?
---Samuel on 6/10/11

I think when you look at some of the words used in salvation: endure, wrestle, struggle, fight, compared to war, offering ourselves as a sacrifice, ought (which means in the Greek we are in debted, like a bond-slave,we have been given, not earned, something we need and belong to the one who gave it to do as they say), told to stand, not be moved. These are very strong words. Being lost is what is natural and deception makes us believe things that aren't true which in the end will lead to death. Were as salvation leads to life.

It is MUCH easier to be saved because "God causes all things to work together for good to them that love him, to those who are called according to his purpose."

With God on your side, YOU WIN every battle, every trial, YOU get the Victory through Christ Jesus, Our Lord and Savior.
---anon on 6/10/11

Being saved is neither easy nor hard. It is something God does for us through Christ. Read Romans 5. It is a done deal.
