Amen kath.
I will add.
He resurrected.
And yes, this means Jn1:1-14, the Word of God in flesh, Y'shua, Immanuel not Michael or any other..

Heb 13:8
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

The good news.
Death (satan)has been conquered-and he knows it.
Heb2:14
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same, that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is the devil...

Repentance unto remission

THIS is the message of the Cross

2 Corinthians 5:19
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them, and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Romans 5:10
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
---kathr4453 on 9/17/11

One of the most non-existant teachings is that Jesus did not shed BLOOD ONLY on the cross. Even when there is some awareness, the significance is not understood/explained and it is simply 'brushed off' with rhetoric and rationalizations.

John 19:34 "there came out blood and water".

God's Spirit agrees with the "water and the blood" (1 John 5:8).

Ezekiel 36:26 "I will take out of your flesh the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh".

God's Spirit can only teach a "heart of flesh" that knows the sentiment of sorrow/love (tears of love...."living water", John 7:38 and 39).

The "message" is "NEITHER THIRST", Rev. 7:16.

The Message, or preaching of the CROSS is the Gospel of salvation.
---kathr4453 on 8/19/11

Would you like to know the real message of the Cross?

It's, "Come and die."

Glory to Jesus Christ!

Trav:
...others slander one another, and call each other all manner of vile names here, and make unfounded accusations
...those never seem to bother you enough to raise a word of protest?
---StrongAxe on 7/15/11

Had to reflect on this one a few minutes.
The reason is, the accuser and condemner will do their own reflecting/repenting. Usually being guilty of the same. Perhaps as in our case here.
Don't see where I condemned anything. Now if the scriptures posted have a message for perhaps this is ur agitation.
I'll see your verse and call to your attention. Matthew has two conditions to be applicable: to a brother, and without cause. Three considering my post was scripture for digestion or reflection.
---Trav on 7/20/11

The message of the cross is the basis of our salvation today, as members of the body of Christ. As Paul reveals to us (Rom 5:8,9, Eph.1:7, Eph. 2:13, Col 1:14, Col. 1:20.
Paul's gospel (1cor 15:1-4) is so plain, you have to really try, to miss it.

Sharon, The cross is an awesome message.
---Eloy on 7/17/11

1 Corinthians 1:17
For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

Luke 9:23
And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Luke 14:27
And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple and or CHRISTIAN/ and or ELECT.

In addition to John 3:16 we have within a deeper message to whosoever.

It's more than just head knowledge or mental agreement.
---kathr4453 on 7/17/11

Eloy:

Mark_V. was quoting scripture (Deut. 29:2-4). Regardless of your opinions on anything else he says here, he at least has THAT scripture in him. If you say he has NO light in him, you are implying that scripture itself is darkness. Are you sure you want to say that? (And the same also applies to many others who quote scripture here and about whom you make the same accusation, including myself).

(By the way, thanks John.usa and Mark_V.)
---StrongAxe on 7/16/11

Yes, "The message of the Cross" is the voice and work of condemned sinners showing their hatred and jealousy of the Righteous Lamb from God: "This is the Heir: come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be our's. Give us Barabbas, the robber and murderer, but away with the other. Crucify, crucify him...And this is the condemnation, that the Light is come into the world, and mankind loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, else their deeds would be exposed. But that one that does truth comes to the light, so that one's deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God."
---Eloy on 7/16/11

I don't use Scripture like you to condemn others with it...
---Mark_V. on 7/15/11

It's true you don't use all scripture to make your condemning points. I've put together a list of your "personalized" condemnations just for your reflection....when you have a self righteous moment.

Like wise, on doctrine once,twice....I've pointed .....my hands and feet are dusted.
---Trav on 7/15/11

The message of the Cross is simply about God's Love for all mankind! John 3:16 says " For God so loved the world that He gsve His Only Son, whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life." Such a wonderful promise! whoever believes(and receives) in the work of Jesus on the cross of calvary and SURRENDER herself/ himself to HIS LORDSHIP will surely find that the message of the cross applied to life is dynamically powerful(!) it is able to bring Freedom, Joy and Peace to a person!
Simply put, God's love endures forever! It's able to turn scarlet like heart because of sin into pure white as a wool clean heart! He forgets and erases all our sins... Accept His love! His blood has power over sin and death! Shalom!
---Elva_7396 on 7/15/11

Trav:

Why is it that the moment someone gives a word of praise here, you are quick to condemn it as unbiblical - yet when others slander one another, and call each other all manner of vile names here, and make unfounded accusations (all things that are repeatedly condemned in scripture, and much more than praise is), those never seem to bother you enough to raise a word of protest?
---StrongAxe on 7/15/11

Trav, I was not speaking against you but you took it that I did. I was agreeing with John usa that Strongaxe was a very respectable brother and always answered kindly.
Now, if that is an attack on you, it was not meant to be. What you believe does not bother me at all. I do not speak against Israel or the ten tribes or the devorced ones or those who are not children of Abraham, all need to be saved. Only those few who were justified by God are considered Old Testament saints. None get a free pass, Jesus is the only way. I don't use Scripture like you to condemn others with it, I give it to proof it comes from God to edify and teach if the individual has ears to hear.

The message of the cross is that Jesus God's own Son died for our sins, that we may receive forgiveness and be reconciled to God. I think this is good . . . wonderful . . . awesomely powerful . . . thank You, God our Father.

Jesus died with this hope for any person, at all. Therefore, I need to be first caring about any evil person, and have the hope that Jesus on the cross has had for any and all people. "'Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.'" (Matthew 11:29) Jesus calls to "all"! guaranteeing His rest to anyone who obeys Him.

If we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it!

Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities:
For we know not what we should pray for as we ought:
but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

He that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
(One might be wise to think about this)

We know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
(What would this all things be? And who is, the we!)

Eloy, the last statement you made has many errors. First of all God determines who lives and who dies. Who receives sight who receives faith who receives a new heart. Man without God can do nothing. You talked about Moses, well let me tell you what he also said,

"Now Moses called all Israel and said to them, You have seen all that the Lord did before your eyes in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh and to all his servants and to all his land- the great trials which your eyes have seen, the signs and those great wonders, "Yet the Lord has not given you a heart to perceive and eyes to see and ears to hear, to this very day" Deut. 29:2-4).

Markv, you will notice that the Blood did not cover every single person in Egypt. Each family was told what would save them and each family had to obey what they were told would save them.

So each Jewish family obeyed, through FAITH in what they were told. Those who obeyed/having faith in what was instructed of them, LIVED and no firstborn was killed. Each individual family had to obey.

Today, Jesus is that lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Abel/an individual placed his faith in the coming Lamb of God/redeemer, by offering a sacrifice, pointing to Christ and Cain did not. Each made a choice. One chose life becoming an heir of Righteousness, and Cain chose death, being cast out.

Leslie, A-men. Like an immature and rebellious child who defies authority onto their own hurt, so to is cluny. As long as he stays hard-hearted and stiff-necked he will stay separate from salvation: cluny has not a clue.
---Eloy on 7/14/11

Mark V, A-men. Our God of love, being holy and just, has no choice but to rightly sentence the guilty to eternal damnation for choosing to keep their sins. He will not allow any sinner nor unrighteous soul into heavenly city. All things are holy and tame and sinless in heaven, and no violence nor sin is permitted inside our gates. Ever since the beginning Moses spoke the ultimatum to the people, saying, I set in front of you life and death, Choose this day whom you will serve, God or sin, blessing or cursing, life or death. For the wages of sin is death. So we each must choose whom we will serve, and according to our choice determines our eternal destination, heaven or hell, with Christ or without Christ.
---Eloy on 7/14/11

\\Cluny - Whether you realize it or not you are one of the ones I am refering to. You constantly go AGAINST the Bible and argue it. The cross is foolishness and offensive to you. You are dieing and going to Hell and don't even realize it.\\

I knew you had me in mind, Leslie.

But spiritual things are spiritually discerned.

Tell me what I've said that goes against the Bible. Be specific.

If you think I'm going to hell, that means my salvation is secure in Christ Jesus.

Keep on blessing me.

---Cluny on 7/13/11

Peter - The problem with your statement to me is that I have shown Cluny several times several scriptures to back up what I am saying and why he is wrong. Cluny seeing those scriptures just argues them ALL the time, and makes it to where he thinks he knows better than God. I have backed it up with the Word and he argues the Word, with EVERYTHING. This is how I know that he is NOT saved and going to Hell.

"For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:6-8

Keywords to the message on the cross, "God commendeth his love toward us" and "Christ died for the ungodly". Indeed God is love. Question is, does He love everyone? If He did, then no one should be going to the Lake of Fire. It is the love of God that saves the "ungodly" in Jesus Christ.
---christan on 7/13/11

Eloy, you are correct in your last statement. The blood of Christ is sufficient to cover every single person in the whole world. But as we know it does not cover the wicked who reject Christ sacrifice. If it did, no one would be going to hell, and we would have what is called, "Universalism" But we don't. For we are told of the many who are continuing to hell. If they were going to hell covered by the blood of Christ, then God would be unjust for sending them there and God is not unjust. Some receive mercy and the others receive the wrath of God.

Peter:

While I cannot personally speak for Cluny or Leslie, you might put me in the same boat.

When I see someone making a demonstrable error, I show contradictory scriptures (if it is a theological error), or other authorities otherwise. If they make an outlandish claim, I do not contradict them - I just ask them for proof or corroboration.

I make no apology for doing so, and whenever I make similar errors, I am glad when others call me on them. This is the difference between us and those with whom we "argue" on here - many of them take offense at correction, refuse to acknowledge their errors, and refuse to provide proof or corroboration of their claims, turning instead to personal attacks.

An amazing thing about the cross, is that mercy triumphs over judgment. James 2:13

And mercy rejoiceth against judgment - Margin, "glorieth." Greek Boasts, glories, or exults. The idea is that of glorying over, as where one is superior to another, or has gained a victory over another.

Sharon: The message of the Cross is the very cornerstone of the Christian Faith. It is the message of Salvation. It is the "milk" of the word. It is funny how sinners misapply scriptures to support their falsehood. Jesus' sacrifice was for all, but only for all whom accept him: for there are millions whom vehemently reject Christ's sacrifice and are antiChrist and these remain condemned in their sins and there is no Jesus with them nor sacrifice for them, but only the lake of fire and brimstone.
---Eloy on 7/12/11

The message of the Cross is that Jesus Christ died for all sin, not only for ours but for the whole world.

Stated in Romans 11, that ALL are concluded under sin that God may have mercy on ALL.

Can you separate the mercy of God from the Blood of Jesus Christ. NO. God's mercy to us is shown in His Son who took our sin. God can only have mercy on us based totally on the finished work of Christ.

You don't need to BEG for mercy, you receive mercy the moment you place your faith in the Finished work of Christ.

The opposite of wrath is mercy.

We are saved from wrath, therefore mercy is ours.
---kathr4453 on 7/12/11

Jesus said John 12:24, If I be lifted up will draw all men unto myself. We lift up the Cross, just as John said in John 3-14-17 the serpent was lifted up in the wilderness.

Now God had mercy on Israel coming out of Egypt, HOWEVER BLOOD had to be placed on the doorpost. Whoever failed to do so would infact have received God's wrath of a firstborn being killed without exception. So we know God's Mercy is revealed through the Passover, not through His good humor or selective choice. Jesus is OUR passover.

Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God,

Eloy:

There are 613 commandments in the Old Testament. Paul clearly states no one (except Jesus) can possibly keep them all. If Jesus's sacrifice wipes away all our sin, but after we are saved we must STILL keep those commandments (which we can't) and there is no further atonment, we are all doomed.

Thus, the only saved people would convert on their deathbeds (i.e. get saved and immediately die before they can sin again), and there is no hope for anyone else. This is a message of despair - in contrast with hope, which is what Jesus and Paul taught.

Also remember, if you call someone "fool" you are in danger of hell fire (Mt 5:22), and you have often called people "fool" or worse here.

The message of the Cross is that a sacrifice is required to clease us from our sin. Jesus was THE LAMB of God who was sacrificed for us. We are "saved" from eternal damnation because of what JESUS did on the CROSS not by anything We Do. john, Obey all his Commandments which he clearly commands you to do, you must obey every word which proceeds out of the mouth of God: Recall a father had two sons, and he came to the first and said, Son, go work today in my vineyard. And the son said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went and did his father's will. And the father came to the second son and said, Son, go work today in my vineyard. And the son said, I, Lord: but went not. Which of the two sons did the father's will, and which will the father reward? Rightly the first obeyed, and the second disobeyed, and disobedience enters not into the kingdom of God.

Eloy:

If you accuse people of speaking falsehood, you should get your own facts in order first. Jesus spoke of hypocrites that looked at specks in others' eyes, while ignoring beams in their own (Matthew 7:3-5, Luke 6:41-42).

You told scott: Christ was crucified over 2,000 years ago before you were even born.

If true, and if scott is 18 years or older, Jesus would have had to have been crucified before 9 BC, and he would have to have been born around 42 BC or earlier. There is a easily a discrepancy of at least three or more decades here.

I make mistakes, and freely admit it. I don't self-righteously accuse others of speaking falsehood, lest I get egg on my face - a lesson you would be wise to learn also.

I remember you said that Christ never had to clean a toilet, that He never lost any kids like you, that neither Job and Christ put together went through the pain you went through. That is why I answered you the first time. Then I hear you write what you did on 7/10/02 and cannot understand why you would say those other things. If you have asked Christ for forgiveness then I am sorry I answered you. I just cannot figure you out. I love what you just said.

scott, you speak falsehood because there is no light in you. 1) Christ was crucified over 2,000 years ago before you were even born. 2) you project this lie on to others in posting, "we", when there is no "we". 3) God does not love unconditionally, that is a lie from the enemy in the pit, for God has clear and definite conditions that he commands souls to obey in order for souls to obtain his love and acceptance.

Paul commanded that those that belong to Christ MUST teach/preach the Message of the Cross, and if they taught anything else, he said let them be CURSED. The Bible says that the Message of the Cross is FOOLISHNESS and OFFENSIVE to them that are PERISHING. I think that is the MAJORITY of those on Christianet - they are perishing (dieing and going to Hell), this is why the cross is foolishness and offensive to them.

We are the ones who spit, curse, sin, and run away from God but God, who is love, still loves us unconditionally that he sent his son for us.
---Scott on 7/11/11

Leslie, contrary to what you posted on another blog, the phrase "blood of the Cross" appears NOWHERE in the KJV.

Glory to Jesus Christ!

Awesome, that Almighty Jesus whom is 100% Holy and Innocent who went about doing only good, would allow little rotten creatures to manhandle him and abuse him and strip him and spit on him and beat him and mock him and nail him to a cross is awesome. And how great will be their judgment for their unspeakable sins against God, which darkness has reached around his world and up into his kingdom. But the ground did shake and the rocks split open and the dead arose, and Almighty Christ raised himself from their murdering hands and he will judge them every one, and cast them into his lake of fire and brimstone for all their unspeakable wickedness.

we overcome sin in our present life here on earth. we overcome by the blood of the lamb which is by Jesus who shed HIS blood. All this is done by "FAITH". We believe HE took all our sin, past, current, and future upon himself on the cross.
---Sharon on 7/10/11

On the cross JESUS died in a finished atoment for sin. But each person must come to JESUS. JESUS is our High Priest as the Bible says in Hebrews. He must now intercede for us. His Grace is sufficient for us. The Bible says we overcome by the blood of the lamb and the word of his testimony.

Let us uplift JESUS.

The message of the Cross is that just as in Adam all die, so also in Christ will all be made alive. God has saved the whole human race. :-)

I'm not sure if this is what is being referred to, but Jimmy Swaggart has supposedly been given this message from the Lord and has been pushing it for at least the past 6yrs if not more. I personally once followed it but as time went on, building his ministry seemed to be the focus and faith was the only thing that can give victory over sin and change us. It is flawed because the wrestling, resisting, fighting and putting off we are commanded to do are invalid, only faith in the cross can change us. He has a website to check it out haven't listened in a few years so I don't know where it has gone now.

The message is simple but often misunderstood....

Devotionally, "sin" no longer exists and cannot 'stain the soul' so as to prevent us from receiving ANY of God's love.

The old concept of "SIN" laws and rules/ordinances has been abolished (Ephesians 2:15). "Wrongdoing" will still happen, but ritualistically so called "sin" can no longer keep you from God (sin has no more spiritual meaning).

We have the FINAL and EVERLASTING cleansing. We should DO RIGHT and...

"no longer have any consciousness of sin" (Hebrews 10:2).

Rom 1: 16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

17For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

1 cor 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness, but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
