I had no choice - the Lord picked out my wife for me. In 1955 I was in the Navy, (Sea Bees)and received this letter from a girl that I only knew from a Christian youth camp. The Lord said I'd marry this girl. I said to the Lord, "You don't know what you are talking about." Didn't hear from her again for 6 years. We met again, I married her. (That was 48 yrs ago.) We founded a medical mission together. It took two of us. My graduate work was in Business Administration and she had the medical background. According to one magazine article, we pioneered this type of medical work. It would not have been possible if we weren't married.

If God said be fruitful and multiply, then get married be fruitful and multiply. He is God he did not say to be fruitful and prevent the soul from living after the act.

I trust my God and have 6 healthy beautiful children every where we go( No word of a lie) people comment on my daughters. when the boys were younger it was the same in fact it's embracing how many girls ask me if they are single....

I am very weary of the attention the girls get but from women it's always how beautiful their all are especially their long hair.( women always love their hair) ???

1st Cliff: Because God said "Be fruitful multiply and fill the earth"

God certainly said that, yes. Do you think the earth is filled by now, or does it need more filling?

Just out of interest - I think the earth if full enough at this point

I got married because I wanted to share Christ love with a woman who I had a desire for. I wanted to be a loving leader who wanted Christ to be the center of my family at 25 years old. She was 20 and had many problems because of her abusive past. We have been married almost 10-years now and divorce is not in our vocabulary. I made a commitment to be a Christian and to honor God in my love for her and her 2 children. I have felt like my heart has been ripped out a million times, but my love for her/children and Christ has grown by a million times in these ten years. It was also simple obedience to marry rather than burn with lust.

I got married because I fell in love with a man I met at Church whom I thought had the gentlest spirit. I was wrong. He was filled with rage that he was suppressing during our 1.5 yr courtship.

He ended up abusing me and was arrested for Domestic Violence.

Some will say that wasn't God who brought him to me, but it was because I learned about spiritual warfare and how demons operate since my ex has a root of bitterness, anger, hatred, unforgiveness and even murder (he bought a gun). I've been divorced since 2001. I had to learn it through experience versus just reading about it. Amen? I wouldn't trade that learning experience for anything because the value it has brought me in "discerning of spirits" is unmeasurable.

I found my self in exactly what I had seen,me on a horse and that blackheaded man said the exact things to me I saw in the dream. We weren't dating then but later I married him at 16 and we have been together 56 years. Looking back I've wondered if I missed God and it was a warning not foretelling,ha ha,no just a joke. God does lead us if we listen.

Great story.
GOD has obviously blessed you and yours.
Deuteronomy 28:2
And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

aka, "//What have turned out to be God's reasons?// All of it. I was terribly proud, naive, and lost. the realization through the Lord of who i am not and who He is is almost too much to bear." I respect and admire your honesty. I could say much the same of my situation, you are apparantly more forthright.

"thank you Lord for sending the Comforter/Strengthener." Amen.

the first, i was rebounding from my fiance's abortion of our child and our break up. i met a girl who claimed that she could not have children. that was not true. in the army, she got her wings (literally and figuratively) and flew.

the second, at this point, i was so full of myself that i got a girl pregnant and married her only after three months. three children later, she also flies but not to freedom.

//What have turned out to be God's reasons?// All of it. I was terribly proud, naive, and lost. the realization through the Lord of who i am not and who He is is almost too much to bear. thank you Lord for sending the Comforter/Strengthener.

The Seg, Sorry I got one more over you. I got two angels from God. My first angel died after 35 years of marriage. She went back to heaven. My Second one is with me. God put two wonderful woman in my life. Both love the Lord so much. I married my second angel when God through a friend presented her to me. She spoke of Jesus all the time, as me, and never gets tired of speaking about the Lord. If I had met someone else, right now I would be miserable and very unhappy. This angel doesn't only love Christ, but her children, family, and all people she talks to. She is concern for everyone and helps many. Most of all she loves me so much, every card I get for Fathers Day, Christmas, have the most wonderful words directed to me.
---Mark_V. on 9/18/11

Why did you get married?
Because, I didnt want God to take this angel, back to heaven.

What have turned out to be God's reasons?
He wanted me to see what heaven is like.

Some of you guys, should think because you post!

Post this quick! I want her to see it when she wake-up!
Have a blessed day all. I know, I will!

Hi, Darlene (c: Thank you! I would say not only to listen, but I think it works to be sensitive, too, to see how I am becoming while involved with a person. "Do all things without complaining and disputing," (Philippians 2:14)

And I should not evaluate a woman, only to see if I want to marry her. But God wants me to fully love any and all people, to be personally interested in each one, not to just use anyone! So, with each person, I need to submit to God and see what each person is for, in loving each one.

When I was about 14 I dreamed of two men,one blond and one black headed. In it I was engaged to the blond but the blackheaded one was who I would marry. I met the blond when I got home from my aunts where I had the dream, when he went home to another State he said we were engaged,we wrote for a year. The second one said two specific things to me,in dream, and when 15 I found my self in exactly what I had seen,me on a horse and that blackheaded man said the exact things to me I saw in the dream. We weren't dating then but later I married him at 16 and we have been together 56 years. Looking back I've wondered if I missed God and it was a warning not foretelling,ha ha,no just a joke. Well, Donna (c: yes, we are engaged to Jesus.

And, I did mean why did you marry the human that you married?

But, also, I understand that when we do things for God, later we can discover why He had us do something, and we did not know about this, at first. So, I also mean, what things have you discovered were God reasons for you to marry, that you did not know, at first?

Are you referring to marrying a man/woman on this earth? Or Betrothing Jesus? "I will betroth you to me" says the Lord.

I am the Vine and my Father is the Husbandman. Jesus is coming back for a Bride and preparing for a marriage feast with His Bride..so are you referring to marrying (Bethroth is the word the bible uses) Jesus? or marrying another human being on this planet?

I was met a woman who prayed for my Salvation. She was willing after, I got Saved, to drive me to places to lead others to Christ while I studied the Bible.
She has always been my biggest and best supporter in the ministry. We were a team and became a real partnership for Christ. (Couldn't let this one get away... It's that simple. Best deal I ever made!)
