TBN Pledge-A-Thon

Today, I was watching TBN's so called "PLEDGE-A-THON. Benny Hinn, claims to have God's special anointing to heal others.
If this is true, when Benny Hinn laid hands on Paul Crough, how come Paul Crouch's legs weren't healed, so he can stand up and walk?

//The only way to get money is to raise it periodically in what they call PLEDGE A THON.//
Sols

Every time i accidentally land on that station, they are encouraging viewers to plant a seed, and they do not mean a seed into the ground but they mean $$$ into their ministry.

Sola, if you believe what you wrote, you are DECEIVED or you are a LIAR!
---Rob on 1/26/12

Some people here are simply out to criticize
TBN feature christian programs free of charge...ministers preach on air without paying a dime? can you beat that?
The only way to get money is to raise it periodically in what they call PLEDGE A THON.
Is that not wonderful!
---Rev.Dr._Sola_Adetunji on 1/23/12

Paul Crouch has to believe he is healed and stand up and walk.

no wonder so many are so confused with Holy Scripture when so many USE some Scriptures out of context to prove other Scriptures of entirely DIFFERENT TOPICS!!!
---Rhonda on 11/3/11

Sorry been away for a while.

My original post was on performing "miracles in Christ's name" which does and will happen. And that God works thru the lives of people who are still His enemies. Had nothing to do with gifts of healing.

I do not, nor ever will, believe that healing can come from anyone but God or from someone whom God has given the gift of healing to.

Please read what I have posted.
---Mark_Eaton on 11/9/11

Benny Hinn and TBN are all about the Money.

Exactly!

I agree that their shows are good. The scenery leads me to offer MORE "Thanks" to God for his creation and giving us the skills/gifts to make use of that.

However, I have NEVER heard Benny Hinn, or anyone else on TBN, giving God "Thanks" for things.

The only time you'll hear "Thanks" is after you send them enough money.

Like any greedy robber, you'll never be able to give enough to quench TBN's thirst for more $$$.

That is using the Bible for Extortion. And it's WRONG!
---Sag on 11/5/11

God is not a puppet on a string whom is subject to any desires from man, especially not from any one whom is sinuous. We Christians go to him in confidence with our petitions, as a child goes to his Father, but it is up to the Father, and not up to us, whether he says Yea or Nay to our requests presented to him.
---Eloy on 11/5/11

Benny Hinn and TBN are all about the Money.Hinn needs it to buy all those Neyru Shirts.TBN needs it for their Holy Land Carnival.
Although,I have to admit..TBN does show some of the best movies on Cable.

Why do you think Christ spoke this and told us the parable of the tares?

If God raises up rulers and authorities and gives them their power, do you think they work for His purpose?
*****

comparing the healing miracles of Christ as the SAME AS The Father in Heavens purpose for rulers???

no wonder so many are so confused with Holy Scripture when so many USE some Scriptures out of context to prove other Scriptures of entirely DIFFERENT TOPICS!!!

the MIRACLES of HEALING is what this topic is about

nothing in Holy Scripture alludes or implies GOD used someone who REJECTED HIM to HEAL someone IN His name

medical science may put a bandaide on a health issue however it is NOT a "miracle" FROM GOD

You really need to stop limiting God. He can and does work through His enemies. His Word declares so.
---Mark_Eaton on 11/3/11

Good examples are Germany and Japan. Those countries were the ARCH-ENEMIES of the United States during World War II.

Some people claim that the Marshall Plan is what transformed those formerly Axis Power nations into being prosperous.

I know of several missionaries whose "work for God" probably helped even more.

Also, the world treated Germany terribly after World War I. This led to Adolf Hitler and World War II.

God's message: Treat Your Enemies with LOVE! Do NOT suffocate them to death.
---Sag on 11/3/11

YOUR lying claim Christ is working miracles through his enemies in Matt 7:22 CONTRADICTS the very words of Christ in Matt 7:23
---Rhonda on 11/1/11

Why do you think Christ spoke this and told us the parable of the tares?

If God raises up rulers and authorities and gives them their power, do you think they work for His purpose?

Think about Pharoah and Moses. Do you think God worked through Pharoah to release the Jews?

You really need to stop limiting God. He can and does work through His enemies. His Word declares so.

andy3996:

I do AGREE with your last blog posting.

Many churches that I've visited, or been a member at, have some sort of thing(s) that I DO NOT agree with: Schools being just one example.

I'd say that all the emphasis, and endless talking, about these things(s) borders on IDOLATRY. Which GOD clearly doesn't like.

I've been told that that is just MY opinion. Oh Really? Well, I believe that we all -- Churches, Believers, even myself -- need to constantly check ourselves. Churches rarely mention that.

Are we placing our: Trust, Monetary Donations, etc. in the RIGHT place?

Benny Hinn is just one example of where people's Trust, and Monetary Donations, are going towards questionable goals.
---Sag on 11/3/11

Sag: I've known people who seem to have MORE of "a liking or something" for: Pastors, Televangelists, Teachers, etc...
>I TOTALLY AGREE, still these "'ministrygroupies cannot be the resposability of the minister.

about questionable doctrines, it is only questionable if your not brought up in this particular theology, as I could say RCC, Baptists, Prebyterians have questionable doctrines since i'm not one of them.
What does BH. teach upon salvation, Christ, Godliness etcetera examen that and then without prejudging try to come to a personal conclussion,
ps. special anointing one way or another is taught in about every denomination i know
disagree with that if you can
---andy3996 on 11/2/11

I prefer to support the young adults going on short term missions trips. My church has two such people leaving this Winter to minister in foreign lands. Many missionaries I know start out by going on short term projects.

When I went on a two week project, my church supported me. It was a great learning experience handing out the Jesus video and French/Arabic New Testaments to North Africans in a southern port of Spain.
---Trish9863 on 11/2/11

we might not agree with his "ideas" yet on the other hand, where two are toghether there bounds to be disagreement one way or another.
---andy3996 on 11/2/11

I've known people who seem to have MORE of "a liking or something" for: Pastors, Televangelists, Teachers, etc. than they do for Jesus Christ.

Is there anything WRONG with that. Yes!

The Bible says that we are to have ONLY Jesus Christ as our Savior. Our job is to follow Him, learn from Him, and show His love to the world.

Matther 4:19, 1 Corinthians 11:1

Benny Hinn strikes me as one of those folks whose "Teachings and Ways" are, at best, very questionable.

Feel free to disagree with me on that one!

SAG, I'm still waiting to see a miracle before I send any money to that Holy, Holy Preacher. If Benny Hinn is REALLY who he says he is...//

I am wondering IF I preform a miracle how many will be my followers.

Matt 7:20-23

truth is that not in miracles we will know if we belong to God

Question what is the condition given by GOD, and does Benny Hinn accomplishes this condition. we might not agree with his "ideas" yet on the other hand, where two are toghether there bounds to be disagreement one way or another.
---andy3996 on 11/2/11

Matt 7:22 ...and in Your name perform many miracles?"

God works through people who are His enemies.
---Mark_Eaton on 11/1/11
*****

wow how interesting not sure if this is deliberate SPIN or ignorant misunderstanding you have provided using Matt 7:22

GOD does not perform miracles THROUGH people who REJECT HIM

Matt 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

YOUR lying claim Christ is working miracles through his enemies in Matt 7:22 CONTRADICTS the very words of Christ in Matt 7:23

best if you read the followup!

otherwise your one-verse wonder and its understanding is truth and Christ is a liar
---Rhonda on 11/1/11

Im not a big Hinn fan, but, God heals who He wants when He wants.
---Paul on 11/1/11

Reminds me of a Scripture:

Matt 7:22 "Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?"

God works through people who are His enemies.

We need to remember this fact when we work beside someone whom we know does not know God. God can still work through them regardless of the state of their relationship to Him

Christ said MANY would come in HIS name to DECEIVE - He didn't say a few

Matthew 24:11
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

2Corin 11:13,14 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel, for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

Benny Hinn is simply a minister of Satan
---Rhonda on 11/1/11

Rob, When we petition God, God says Yes or No, according to his will. In 1995 Raymond Scott of Bakersfield had advanced colon cancer, a disease that required chemotherapy, radiation and multiple operations. In desperation, Scott attended a Hinn crusade in Sacramento, where, he says, God cured him. His doctor, Alan D. Cartmell of Bakersfield, wrote in his medical report that Scott "experienced a miraculous healing" and can return to all normal activities "following this amazing recovery." "My medical records prove what God's done," says Scott, adding that he has remained free of cancer. "Hinn is a facilitator of the Holy Spirit. He never claims that he does the healing. God does."
---Eloy on 10/31/11

I get Mailings, Emails, and personal invitations, about donating to ministries like Benny Hinn's.

I've been called "Faith Less", Lazy, and profane Expletives. Even by Spirit-Filled, Church-Going, Christians!

Why? Because people seem to think that MY requirement of "Seeing Good Fruit" -- from folks like Benny Hinn -- is Selfish and Not Necessary. Oh, Really? I believe that GOD's Bible tells us to Test ALL spirits. Even Benny Hinn's.

I'm still waiting to see a miracle before I send any money to that Holy, Holy Preacher. If Benny Hinn is REALLY who he says he is, then he'll wait upon the Lord for his money.

GOD wants us to Give cheerfully and wisely.
---Sag on 10/31/11

If you place your trust in a person you are mistaken. I totally do not doubt that God has used Benny to heal many times but 1) God is always God and God is always good to those he loves - which could mean a healing or not. 2) God is always for personal glory which could be through healing or not. God's ways are not our ways. I like the song I think by Casting Crowns "Sometimes he calms the storm (heals legs) other times he calms me (God's love is sufficent w/o healing)"

My brain can't comprehend that millions watch tbn. I can scroll across that network and they are a real joke. ALL OF THEM. After going to my church and hearing the truth, something tells me to turn that tv bunch off and that is just what I do.
---shira4368 on 11/1/11

Benny Hinn is a joke. He is not worth wasting precious time watching. If TBN has him on, then I will definitely not waste my time viewing that network. To spend time watching a network that shows an apostate is not being a good steward of time. Not to mention, it is filling the mind with lies straight from Hell. Philippians 4 tells us to think on other things.
---Trish9863 on 10/31/11

Seems this question has been asked before.

Benny Hinn is an apostate, so I would not expect God to answer his prayers until he repents.

In any case, I neither watch nor support TBN.

Glory to Jesus Christ!
