shira, i did not miss your point. i just said something different than you.

i was not arguing with you. you have your POV. many share your POV. but, instead of focusing on the obvious, i was telling why to love them.

i love the do-gooders. they give the helpers with a good heart a well deserved break. and it fulfills God's word.

you know... first v. last...many v. few....gratefulness for the Jews and v. disdain for those who do not truly understand....

darlene l, I don't know anyone's heart. I don't even know my own heart, except I know I am born again. I was just saying people are hungry 365 days per year. Feeding the hungry one day a year is all over news and papers. I hope you understand my meaning. I am not judging anyone for helping the poor. God bless them.

Shira I know what you are saying and it can get to be a little obvious sometimes but didn't Jesus say when we had done it to the least of these we have done it to him? I think its better for them to do good for what ever reason than to be getting into mischief, maybe someone they help will prick their heart to be a better person, not saying they all have the wrong reasons or hard hearts,I don't know their hearts. God Bless

aka, you missed my point all together. That isn't anything like I said. The do gooders have been all over television for 2 days now. They have had their fame.

It is better to do charity work for the wrong reason than not to do it at all. :)

//I hate seeing the politicians and others feeding the hungry on thanksgiving day.//

i know some who used to love it. on christmas and other major holidays. they called them do-gooders and the do-gooders gave them a well deserved break from the work they do for shelters year round...days that are not holidays.

John usa, A-men brother, you too.

while I believe in family traditions in the family. I hate seeing the politicians and others feeding the hungry on thanksgiving day. The problem with that is these people are hungry everyday. I am not speaking of those who are too lazy to work or the ones who lay around and don't try. I am speaking of the ones who can't help themselves. All thanksgiving means to them is a good meal. The politicians like to be seen is the only reason they do it. God help them.

On this day of giving thanks, let us all be thankful that Christ came, He took our place on the cross, He died, He was buried, and He rose again for all of our sins, past, present, and future.

my favorite holiday. food, family, rest, friends...and Thanksgiving has remained almost commercialism proof.

Psa 100:1 A Psalm of praise. Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.
Psa 100:2 Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Psa 100:3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves, we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Psa 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
Psa 100:5 For the LORD is good, his mercy is everlasting, and his truth endureth to all generations.
