---Mark_V. on 1/12/12. Thanks for asking Mark. Nate has a continuance. I doubt from his current perspective things are turning out ok, but all is in Gods hands with His purpose. I see it as good, even if concerned. I have been sad for him while still in peace and even joy. That may seem a contradiction, but Ive found that in the sad things, God has given such an abundance of His joy and peace, to lift above the circumstances, to rest in Him, and know all will turn out for His purpose and glory.
---Chria9396 on 1/14/12

Chria, you never got back with us as to what happened with your oldest son Nate. How did he do at the court? Did things turn out alright for him?

Hi Darlene, so sorry about the oral surgery--that sucks honey! :( Been there, hope and pray you feel better soon, God bless you hon, Mary
---Mary on 1/6/12

Mary we can always look forward and know this too shall pass. I'm glad there is something to bring relief to you. I had a doctor who said the best doctor to treat a disease is the one who has had it. I feel that way about ministry too,who better than someone who has been through the fire,so to speak,to encourage and teach another person how to walk in God's strength when they have little of their own. Please pray for me again,I had Oral Surgery to get a jaw tooth out, took over an hour,I am hurting some of course and I have a knot the size of a tennis ball on my jaw. Ha ha,this too shall pass. God Bless

Hi, God bless you Darlene. :) My husband helps bandage me up since yesterday with these really healing petroleum/something wraps, they feel good and are supposed to help my skin feel better by the end of the week--yea! :) I pray God uses me a lot in the future for ministry to cancer patients. Most definitely. God bless. :)
---Mary on 1/4/12

Mary I am so glad you have finished your treatments. May you heal quickly and be completely recovered in strength. God bless you sister and may he use your faith to show others how we can stand, trusting God for everything we need. Blessings

Agree. I hope all have had and will continue to have a blessed holiday season.

If God so leads, I would like prayer for my oldest son Nate, who moved out a few months ago, and is going to court tomorrow.
God bless you all
---Chria9396 on 12/26/11

MarkV thank you and may God Bless You in all you do and use you greatly for his work. May all the love you show to others come back to rest upon you. God Bless Darlene

This is the first Christmas since 1980 that I will wake up and not have one of my children in the house.

My daughter is grown with kids of her own (though we will see them tomorrow afternoon) and my son is serving in the Navy down south and will not be able to come home this year.

Kinna sad, but I still feel blessed!

A beautiful Christmas Eve service!

Went to my sister-in-laws church and in the bulletin I spotted the following:

"As loved and created by God, people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, ethnicities, and abilities are welcomed as members."

When I asked her why she continued to go to that church, she indicated that she was basically a cafeteria type Christian - taking what she wanted and ignoring the rest.

I guess many of us Christians are like pigs eating the undigested grain from the cattle droppings and leaving the rest untouched.

Me thinks I will simply remain unaffiliated with any denomination but to go to a church that still retains a similitude of the gospel message.

John, sorry you feel that way it must hurt terribly. I'm expecting a Merry Christmas even though there have been times lately when money wasn't there when we needed or as much as we needed since our business is floor covering. I don't measure by money,I measure by blessings. We'll have Christmas Eve and Christmas Dinner with five Generations,we are blessed to still have my Mama, she is 93. Both my children, spouses, grandchildren, all but one grandson and spouse, and greatgrandchildren will be there. Plus we always open our Celebration and Dinner to friends who have no family or small families,we had 28 for Thanksgiving. God gives so much to us and I give thanks to him even in the hard times. I hope and pray things will get easier for you.Blessings

"What else can I be, when I live in such a world of fools as this Merry Christmas! Out upon Merry Christmas. What's Christmas time to you but a time for paying bills without money, a time for finding yourself a year older, but not an hour richer, a time for balancing your books and having every item in 'em through a round dozen of months presented dead against you?

If I could work my will, every idiot who goes about with ``Merry Christmas'' on his lips, should be boiled with his own pudding, and buried with a stake of holly through his heart. He should!!!''

E. Scrooge

Darlene, I am praying for your great granddaughter.

I would appreciate prayer. I have been sick with sinus infections, and my doctor wants to try a long term course of antibiotics in the hopes of clearing things up. If the antibiotics don't work, then he will have to do surgery. It is dangerous to do the surgery, because I am on Coumadin for blood clots, and he says there are a lot of blood vessels in the nasal cavities.
---Trish on 12/13/11

Mary thank you,my daughter did take her to the doctor and the ear looks clear,no busted eardrum and it is receiving so I can't imagine what is wrong but I do pray God will "fix" this little darling. That is her word for healing, her brother was in convulsions from high fever when she was about 5 and he was 3 and she layed her hand on him and prayed"God fix my little brother". She believes in healing and God's touch. There is so much I can't say on here but she has already been through more than any child should have to endure. I hope you are doing well with your treatment. God Bless
---Darlene_1 on 12/12/11

Hi Darlene, God bless this little girl--the great grandaughter. I am praying she will be healed or that medical advances can help her. They've helped me tremendously! I pray this sweetheart will still have self-confidence as she grows up--that's tough to do but with the right nurtering, she can grow up with confidence. May God bless her.
---Mary on 12/11/11

Please pray for my Greatgrandaughter, she is 10 years old,4th grade and failing 4 subjects we thought because she is dyslexic and can't read or spell very well, but the School nurse called my Son-in-law this morning and said she is completely deaf in her left ear. That is the one that she has toward the teacher the most. My daughter got her an appointment with her doctor at three today please pray that her hearing can be restored, that God helps her. She is already taller than others her age and the handicap of reading, kids make fun of her when she goes for special help with that, its hard to be different.

Kella: Praise the Lord for your pregnancy. I have lost both of my brothers at very young ages. I took it hard, as I was close to both of them. My grandchildren will never know their great-uncles. I take comfort that they are with the Lord, and not suffering any health issues, which plagued both of them for years. I hope you can also rejoice in the knowledge that your sister may also be with the Lord and will be celebrating Christmas with Jesus.

kathr4453 - the forum you asked questions is closed. so I attempt to answer you here.

//Please tell us how this is different than the words in the WCF or the Calvin belief that you all too keep the Law in some respects?

The WCF views the law as a guide or reference to our Christian walk. They do not view it as binding covenant.Read XIX.6

//AND how do you know for sure the SDA's don't keep it in the same way as the WCF also states you do, except for the Sabbath Day?

My position is not of the WCF regarding the Sabbath as I beleive scripture does not mandate any day to be held as holy for the Christian. Even my OPC pastor working on his doctorate degree agrees with my position.

I would appreciate special prayer for my AA sponsor this weekend. My church is having our annual ladies Christmas tea. It is a huge, evangelistic outreach. In addition to the tea and snacks, there is special music and a special message focusing on the birth of our Lord. There is always an invitation to accept the Lord in the message. I have invited my sponsor, Ellen. She is open to the things of the Lord, and used to attend a Calvary Chapel. When I moved into my new apartment, she helped me unpack, and was very impressed by all of the people from my church that helped me move that day.

Mary, I will pray for you as you complete your radiation treatments.

I have been busy getting my apartment ready for company this weekend. My son and his wife will be here for lunch on Saturday. I had been sick, then went away, and came home sicker.
