Am I Holding Unforgiveness
I had a fight with a co-worker/friend. After 6 months, it seems like she hasn't forgotten. Same thing with our two other office mates she had fought with. Many times that it felt nothing but, seeing her acting like she's full of pride, I get annoyed. Do you think I might be holding grudges as well?

theSeg, that was very sage advise. we should not rely on what we see, but instead what we don't.
Heb 11:1-3 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.
(sidebar - maybe, if you would have said "good morning" instead of "good moaning", she might have come around sooner. lol. :~)

1Cliff, I don't know why you asked that question if you know Scripture. Maybe you just don't believe in the Word of God. Something is very wrong there.
The wicked has nothing whatsoever to do with religion. Those who rebell against God, who know they are rebelling against Him and still do, they are the wicked. No matter where you come from. Our Infinite God demands obedience. He can demand anything He wants, after all He is God who makes the rules. You break them, you will be punished. The only way out of that delimma is to have the righteousness of Christ. No other way. You don't like the rules, don't complain to me for I did not write them, complain to God, He made the plan and the rules.

You know Kenny Rogers wrote a song.
Why dont you listen to it, and then try it.
Its called, Buy Me A Rose!
It took me five years of holding the door open and saying good moaning.
To get a neighbor, just to say hello. Once she even said let the door go. I say no!
Now every time she sees me, I get a smile and a hello. God is good.
Be yourself! Forget about what she may be thinking.
Have peace within yourself!

Only God can forgive & forget. We as mere humans must forgive, struggle with leftover hurts & re-forgive over & over & over,7 times & times 7 times.... you get the jest of it. For me, forgiveness is just another process in life. It must be done on a daily, hourly, or even every minute of every day if that's what it takes to feel at peace with any situation. You are the only one who feels what you feel. If you have doubt or question your forgiveness, God is the only one who can help you. Pray & ask Him to give you a clear conscience.

Mark V, Define "wicked men".
Are they non believers? Muslims? atheists? JWs? SDAs?
Does eternity in a burning fire fit the crime?
This is not cruel????
Your stsatement "there's no cruelty with God" is TRUE, the life in hell fire is false!

1Cliff, God does not torture anyone, He punishes them. Get it right. There is no cruelty with God. Hell sounds to you as a place of unusual torture and cruelty, but it is impossible for God to be cruel. Cruelty involves inflicting a punishment that is more severe or harsh than the crime. The Judge of all the earth will surely do what is right. No innocent person will ever suffer at His hand. Wicked men will hereafter earnestly wish to be turned to nothing and forever cease to be that they may escape the wrath of God. When they die, there is no more chances. Everyone has pride, but not everyone has Christ.

This is where fundamentalism gets a little dicey!
The super Christian says "Oh we must never hold a grudge, it's not God-like we must always forgive!"
From the other side of the mouth comes "God tortures humans forever showing no mercy" no sign of forgiveness here! For murder or atrocities?? No, for simple unbelief!
Are we to emulate God? Only hold a grudge against those who don't believe us?????
You can't have it both ways!

Jim, if you beg to differ, you actually belief that you (a Christian?) are much better than the unbeliever? How?
You correctly say, "When God looks at a believer He see the righteousness of Christ." Which I do not disagree. And if it is the righteousness of Christ His Father sees, what good do you have that makes you any better than the unbeliever. It's only by God's grace that we are precious in His sight, nothing to do with what you are before or after you became a Christian.
You have failed to understand my blog and pride still fills your heart that you see yourself better than an unbeliever after being saved by God's grace. If God's Spirit is dwelling in you, you will be a little humbler about yourself.

Jesus says forgive your neighbor 70*7. So you are to forgive. But I also think that means we have to remind ourselves to forgive that person many times for the same event. Forgiveness is not a one time event but a continual mindset. It is hard.

Only you can answer that, sweetstrum.
Forgiveness is like peeling an onion. You peel and peel, and cry and cry--and then there's always another layer.
Glory to Jesus Christ!

Christan said:"Christians are no better than the unbelievers".
I beg to differ with you.
You need to do a little more studing.
You see christan... Christians are forgiven... and , unbelievers are not.
When God looks at a believer He see the righteousness of Christ. So please do not lump Christians and unbelievers in the same pile.

As Christians, we must remember we too are sinners before God and that our salvation is only by the grace of God. Christians are no better than the unbelievers and just like them, we too are full of pride. Many a times worse than the unbelievers. This is what God said to His people,
"And you shall remember that the LORD your God led you all the way these forty years in the wilderness, to humble you and test you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not." Deuteronomy 8:2
Keyword is "humble". Why? Because of pride. Before our time as Christians on this earth is up, be assured God will humble each and every one of His people before they enter into His kingdom.

Only you would know. Ask God if He thinks you're holding a grudge.
Forgiveness means to forget. You can know you've forgiven someone if you look back on the situation and don't get hurt and you don't get mad all over again. Is that you?

key phrase "I get annoyed" so I would say yes. Anger is like you drinking poison so that the other person will experience hardship.
---Scott1 on 1/17/12|
(c: God bless you, and it is good to see you (c: We can forgive, but because we are not perfect, we later can need to forgive again and forgive better than we have before. "'And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.'" (Mark 11:25) So, we need to get into prayer, first, so we are with God and appreciating how loving and forgiving He is with us, then desire this loving forgiving for others, also. So, forgiving is not just letting someone off the hook, but how God wants us to love the person. So, if the person comes back to mind, do better, this time, to bless the person with forgiving love and prayer (c:
