if so, the church has judged itself and not me.
---aka on 4/23/12

1 Corinthians 5:12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?

1 Corinthians 5:3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, [concerning] him that hath so done this deed,

1 Corinthians 6:2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

1 Corinthians 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

1 Corinthians 6:4 If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.

Stephen, Has your church judged you?
---Eloy on 4/21/12

I go to a good church.
---Eloy on 4/20/12

Scott, where do you draw the line?
In 3rd world countries they go to the missionaries who give them the most, feigning interest, just to get the goodies.
Haiti is a classic example of converting to Christianity while still holding pagan beliefs!
---1st_cliff on 3/29/12

Who are you to decide if they are committed or not. That is not our job. Our job is to preach and help the poor.

moderator permit/hello,Karen I admire your church & text! I have never seen such a church here, other places have lived! My personal feelings that your church doin' best for the children truly Christ centered education. When I was a small child my grandmom sat read the bible to me,was facinating to me! We had to sneak becuz of course, not allowed! Later on,we moved finally my mother permit me go to a church. She was angry then even told me she wud rather see me dead than in a church! Certainly,I was young soon,quit....Later got married...God is good! Thanks! Karen from ELENA

Stephen, I have attended many churches from different denominations. None of have said anything negative to me. Yet, I had many here on line say a lot of stuff about me, to the point of condemning me. I really don't know what many of you say at church that has others judging you. You can listen to what's taught, compare it to Scripture, and if not good, you have a right to asked why they taught what they did, and if they refuse to listen, you have a right to leave. You can walk out any time you like and look for a good teaching church. I don't know of any church that keeps you captive. My wife and I have walked into churches and in five minutes we have walked out, because of how terrible their preaching was. We don't stay there to argue.

On April 8th we will have a Resurrection Sunday Service with a traditional program and the church will be packed out. We do not even mention bunnies or eggs. There is no party on Saturday before for the children. We teach the children that it is all about JESUS. Same thing for Halloween. There is no Harvest Festival (Halloween disguised). Wednesday night is family night with Bible Study for all ages and it is the largest service. PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!

So the end justifies the means????
---1st_cliff on 3/27/12

I just think we as christians need to do anything and everything short of sin to reach people far from God. If you consider the Easter bunny a sin I am sorry for putting my religion onto you Romans 14.
---Scott1 on 3/28/12

Cliff: Unsaved people hear the Gospel and accept Christ as Saviour and start worshiping regularly. The unsaved people would not have come to the church to hear the Gospel for regular church services. If it takes some plastic eggs and someone dressed up like a bunny to get them to hear the Gospel and get saved, that is great.

Another church in our town advertises that they have 20,000 Easter eggs for a massive hunt, balloons and prizes for the kids, and a visit by Peter Cottontail!
---1st_cliff on 3/26/12

And to think non-christians may come to a church event that is horrible (sarcasm). This worked at a church in NC called elevation. By the way they are the fastest growing church in the nation by bringing in non-christians and presenting the gospel weekly. Yes some turn away but Jesus preach the gospel many times and the crowds left but some stayed and the angels rejoice over one sinner who repents..."

One Pentecostal pastor in our city sued the congregation for $80,000, two years salary, for wrongful dismissal!
The church had to open a daycare center to make ends meet!

By this blog it is acceptable to judge the church but don't dare let the church judge you.

Karen2: By the way, if those Christian counselors are credentialed by their state, they probably have a counselor's certificate. Most insurance companies do not cover counselors. They cover licensed social workers or licensed psychologists. I am a licensed social worker. I have worked in agencies that are covered by insurance companies. They do not hire counselors, just licensed psychologists and licensed social workers.
---Trish on 3/25/12

KarenD: Those credentialed Christian counselors are not covered by my insurance. To pay out of pocket is too expensive, and, I believe, not good stewardship of my resources. Plus, I need a psychiatrist. Again, the Christian ones are not in my insurance plan.

When my husband and I were having some marital problems, and trying to save our marriage, long before our divorce, our church paid for a Christian counselor to work with us. He had no experience dealing with my mental health diagnoses, nor did he understand the needs of people with dual diagnoses, mental illness and alcoholism. We stopped going to him, because he was ignorant of our needs.
---Trish on 3/25/12

Trish...There are thousands of qualified and licensed Christian counselors with the same credentials you have. They just counsel in a Biblical way.
---KarenD on 3/25/12

They say they appreciate me and encourage me. They tell me not to guilt-trip people, not to be negative, but have compassion for people, and be changed into the image of Jesus so we are known for being a church that cares, but not the only church like this, and help other churches. And my personal companionship church encourages me and draws me out to not be paranoid and impure but caring about other people and minister prayer and the word and counsel, and don't argue (c: I get criticized for arguing and assuming (c:

Cluny:

Sag didn't saying being a Democrat was a sin. He said his past churches judged him for being a Democrat - an important distinction. The Pharisees had some pretty rich things to accuse Jesus of too.
---StrongAxe on 3/23/12

One past church judged my ex and I for a lot of reasons.

We are Democrats.

We attended secular colleges, and not the Bible college that moved into town.

I saw a secular, licensed psychologist, and not an unqualified Christian counselor.

I attended AA for my recovery from alcoholism.

Suggest that you feed yourself with your home study of the Bible and its doctrines and not depend upon any church denomination.
---lee1538 on 3/22/12

Great Adivce!

Actually, Satan is the force behind there being so... many worldly denominations out there.

There is only ONE true church. The church that Jesus Christ founded. He lives within our hearts.
---Sag on 3/22/12

My church doesn't judge me. I never do anything there that would even get their attention besides dipping a little snuff.
---Pat.pat on 3/22/12

\\Some of my relatives ARE living sinful lives

My parents are Democrats\\

Are you trying to say that being a Democrat is sinful?

Glory to Jesus Christ!

//This un-Biblical Judging is why I left and returned to the Catholic Church. Not perfect, but not Judging either.

Yes, but it is largely true that the Catholic church is not known for its discipline, they seem to tolerate anything or anyone that would toss a nickel into the collection plate.

For instance, if the Roman church would follow its own doctrinal beliefs and policies, they would deny communion to over half of the congregation as typically half of any church is divorced and re-married- something that is forbidden in the RCC.

Suggest that you feed yourself with your home study of the Bible and its doctrines and not depend upon any church denomination.
---lee1538 on 3/22/12

My PAST churches have Judged me on:

My family is Catholic

Some of my relatives ARE living sinful lives

My parents are Democrats

I'm not married

I've attended a church OTHER than their church

I didn't attend a Christian college because I couldn't afford it

I don't give money to TBN, or any TV, Radio, Internet broadcasters

I don't agree with some Pastors & Missionaries

This un-Biblical Judging is why I left and returned to the Catholic Church. Not perfect, but not Judging either.

If I were living contrary to what the Bible says, I could understand being Judged for my sin.

But I'm living for GOD. And keeping my nose out of sin. Amen!
