End Time Marriges Urgent

Believing that these are the end days, is there an urgency to get married in the Christian community? Is awareness of this urgency a sign of Christian maturity?

understanding we are living NEAR the end of days when we see foolish statements like these posted from the cults who drive their members AWAY from GOD

FIRST nothing in Holy Scripture alludes to people rushing to marriage for the sake of "end of days"

SECOND most of prophecy has YET to occur so the time is NEAR however it could be many YEARS away

THIRD to believe you have INSIDE knowledge of how close we are to the end of days would make you a LIAR seeing Christ does not know the day or hour so RUSHING to marriage would lead one to believe they KNOW how close we are ...much like the minister of Satan who led so many to believe the end was May 2011 when it didn't happen it was October 2011 ...and now he is MIA

Hello, family! I am also, like the modertor ..this a new one on me,too!Marriage should not be rushed into unless,a real urgent reason... Like KarenD. says/ also when children involved ..my dad never married my mom & it was a race thing, too. I felt so,ashamed as a child and made sure I get married quick! ELENA

People use to think married people live longer than singles......actually it just seems longer!

I personally, as a single Christian man, do not consider marriage now, BECAUSE of us being in the Last Days. The Apostle Paul said that he would that every man be as he (single) because of the persecution in his day. But, it will be even worse today. But, bottom line---SEEK GOD's WILL ONLY.

Yes it is, moderator!
The bible says people in general will not even notice. We will be going about our daily business as usual. So, no urgency to get married.

I tend to agree with Eloy on this. I think people just have an urgency to get married so that they do not feel like the odd one out.

Believers SHOULD NOT BE living in sin in the first place but God in his mercy forgives a truly repentant heart. However once this is done it can't continue. If it does it is deliberate and not repentant.

Marriage it precious and should be done "ONLY" for the RIGHT REASONS and at "THE RIGHT TIME"

The only ones who should urgently get married are those who have been living in sin.

Not sure about whether these folks should be getting married at all.

The other day, I was watching a TV Talk Show.

The Guest was a young woman who tearfully explained that she had spent more time "Living With Her Boyfriend" than they did "Happily Married". And now comes their divorce.

The TV Talk Show Host explained that this was an example of how "Living Together" -- Living In Sin -- doesn't guarantee marital bliss. Often, quite the opposite.

No, people urgent to get married are just urgent to get married, and I do not think that it has anything to do with it being the end days.

john,

"It would be far better not to get married and bring into the world children who would almost surely be predestined reprobates."

Please explain.

2,000 years ago, when the Parousia seemed imminent, St. Paul suggested that was a good reason Christians should NOT get married.

We have been in the "last days" since the descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, if St. Peter's interpretation of Joel's prophecy is to be believed.

Christ is risen!
