The phrase,"style of the gospel", is not found in the bible.
We are to preach the truth of the gospel.
2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears,
2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

"Gospel" = good news/truth.

The scripture you posted is accurate. Everyone wants to be a teacher/preacher....but, seldom furnish scripture witnesses 2+ to back up their truths/doctrine. The Apostles did. The prophets did. A few Christians do....and wolf preachers never. Hmmmm.

A "style" of gospel is from man.
2Ti 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom,
2Ti 4:2 Preach the word, be instant in season, out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.
2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears,
2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Instead of coming to preach the cross of Christ as Paul was sent to do (1 Cor 1:17), Paul said that Jesus came for a specific purpose to confirm the OT promises.

Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers Romans 15:8

Jesus came to a specific people, to preach a specific message, and to die a specific death. What can not be found in his exclusive ministry is salvation from the preaching of the cross.

plainly put the gospel that Peter believed for salvation was not the gospel that Paul presents later to us for salvation.(Christ died for our sins, resurrected for our justification)
---michael_e on 7/9/12

Acts 2:23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have CRUCIFIED and SLAIN: Whom God hath RAISED UP, having loosed the pains of DEATH:

Acts 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have CRUCIFIED, both Lord and Christ.

Peter was preaching Jesus crucified (THE CROOS) and many jews were baptisted that day 3 1/2 years before Paul

STILL WANT TO HANG ON TO THAT FLAWED STATEMENT?
---francis on 7/10/12

It's obvious Peter didn't want Christ to die and was ignorant of its meaning (Luke 18:34).

Peter was in the close circle of disciples selected by Jesus and no doubt a member of the faithful remnant of Israel. Peter's faith was not in Jesus death for his sins nor in his resurrection for justification.

plainly put the gospel that Peter believed for salvation was not the gospel that Paul presents later to us for salvation.(Christ died for our sins, resurrected for our justification)
Peter never preached the Cross work as "good news" He preached the Cross as Israel killing their messiah
---michael_e on 7/9/12

they preached the coming kingdom and its king Jesus. Not the preaching of the cross.

The secret of the cross kept secret since the world began first revealed to Paul in the revelation of the mystery (Col 1:25-26).

If you are saved it's because the gospel Paul teaches in 1 Cor 15:1-4 that Jesus died for your sins and resurrected.

this wasn't the gospel taught by the twelve during Jesus earthly ministry.

Matt 10:5-6 Jesus tells his disciples to avoid the Gentiles and preach to Israel only. vse seven is the message they preached to Israel only:

This was the kingdom gospel (Mark 1:14-15). later (Mat 16:21) Jesus mentioned his death.

Mat 16:22 Peter was ignorant of its meaning (Luke 18:34).

they preached the coming kingdom and its king Jesus. Not the preaching of the cross.

2C 5:19 that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them, Ro 5:10 when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, Col 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself, whether things in earth, or things in heaven. Any gospel,(evangel) that does not preach the cross of Christ and Jesus as the Savior of all men, is not the evangel of the grace of God. It is a different gospel. The gopsel of our salvation was given to Paul alone by the glorified Christ, no other man was given this gospel (Ga 1:12) Peter didn't preach it, neither did John, and James, Peter's usurper, tried to undermine it.
---Phil on 7/7/12

the best kind of gospel is preaching under the Holy Spirit....pure unadulterous Word. some get their sermons from the internet and that kind of gospel isn't good.

what is the fate of those who placed their trust and faith in Christ, but they died before Ellen White and the SDA's came along?
---Rob on 6/3/12

John 5:22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son:

1 Cor 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God.

JESUS IS JUDGE

2 Cor 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men

Steveng: But by your statement, there might always be the danger that you (or I, since I am also on the same site) do not know it!
---Peter on 6/15/12

One must know what the gospel is before one can preach it. And after reading these blogs for the past few years very few know.

Francis, on 6/1/12 you responded to my comment about teaching the Gospel of Christ Jesus, book by book, chapter by chapter, and verse by verse, as being nonsense and garbage.

Do you realize how idiotic what you wrote was? But then again, idiots are prime prey for SDA's

SDA's probably are also against a person asking and answering the questions, WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY, and to WHOM the spripture was written.

Francis, what is the fate of those who placed their trust and faith in Christ, but they died before Ellen G. White and the SDA's came along?

As usual, you probably will avoid answering this question.

"What style of the Gospel do you think is more appropriate for a church service?"
God-style. We, the church, wherever 2 or more are gathered in HIS NAME, He is in the midst, led by the Holy Spirit as HE WILLS, not to be put in a box or determined by man or mans ways. Rather, resolve to know nothing except Jesus Christ and Him crucified, our message and preaching, not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirits power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on Gods power.

1: Audio
2: visual
3: Nature

1: Audio: talk about it, quote from scripture

2:Visual: Make small replicas of, or photo / video of the sanctuary, and show how Jesus as the lamb of God died for mans sin, and how his shed blood cleanses us from unrighteousness

3: Nature: Psalms 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Psalms 97:6 The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.
Genesis 15:5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
Genesis 15:6 And he believed in the LORD, and he counted it to him for righteousness.

I have learned the best way to teach the Gospel of Christ Jesus is book by book chapter by chapter, and verse by verse, in the TRUE CONTEXT WHICH IT WAS WRITTEN.
---Rob on 5/27/12

Nonesence and garbage
Isaiah 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, [and] there a little:

not book by book at all
and not context
CONTEXT ALWAYS CHANGES

DOCTRINE DOES NOT
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines

Old time meaning yes what the disciples did, not this newage teaching where the pastor teaches this generation by the worlds view.Instead of trying to form to what the new generation wants, lets remind them of the sounddoctrine gospel. We conform, change to fit God, not the other way around. the more we learn about the bible, the more willingly we change for the better.
---womandisciple on 5/31/12

"old time teacing" must be how Jesus taught HIS disciples. That's as old as the gospel gets.

When one beggar (sinner) tells another beggar (sinner) where the food (salvation) is. Who cares about the method. We did a series called cars a few years back where the pastor found an old AMG car that was in bad shape. Sin acts like a sleg hammer and beats up your life (car) but God wants you to have life to the fullest so he uncovered a ferrari.

The minute I realize a preacher is saying more about himself than God, my attention disconnects. Present day illustrations are appropriate, but they are to glorify God, not the speaker.

Through the years I have visited many Churches which claimed to be sharing the Gospel, but what they were sharing WAS NOT THE TRUE GOSPEL OF CHRIST JESUS, Galatians 1:6-10.

These places may share one verse of Scripture to get a persons attention, then do what is written in Colossians 2:8, and 2 Timothy 4:3-4.

They will also use a form of Hypnosis or sorcery to get people worked up in a frenzy, which is not of God, but is of Satan.

I have learned the best way to teach the Gospel of Christ Jesus is book by book chapter by chapter, and verse by verse, in the TRUE CONTEXT WHICH IT WAS WRITTEN.

Also, ask and answer the questions, WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY, and TOO WHOM the Scripture was written.

The Gospel comes in four styles: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

Choose one.
