\\Aren't flashing dots Migraines? You can have this and still not get headaches.\\

Migraines are by definition headaches.

Some sufferers of migraines have the flashing dots.

Sometimes flashing dots are symptoms of other things.

Astronauts would sometimes see flashing dots when cosmic rays stimulated the retina.

Glory to Jesus Christ!
---Cluny on 8/18/12

Jamea: Have you considered seeing a neurologist about the vision problem? That would be the next logical thing to me.
---Trish on 8/17/12

Aren't flashing dots Migraines? You can have this and still not get headaches.

It's blood vessels popping?

Do floaters FALSH???
---kathr4453 on 8/17/12

\\my eyes see loads flashing dots and other things optician says there ok but i cant see properly!\\

These are called "floaters", and we all get them. The real question is: Do they interfere with your daily activities and keep you from normal functioning? (Being irritating is another matter.)

Glory to Jesus Christ!

il try answer a couple of things, ive been to physios chiros accupressure tried tablets, faith healer, and had a operation im stil not100percent,i have been offered one of those trish but it would only last from 1week til a year and im still considering it,ive been to eye specialists the works they say nothing wrong with my eyes, but i see like static snow loads flashing dots and after i look at something i get after images, wat i mainly posted the message for was i was hoping someone was going to tel me sum magic way of healing myself!
---james3475 on 8/17/12

jamesa, it wouldn't hurt going to a chiropractor either. Even though you've had disk surgery, it won't interfere with that. They can just feel along your spine to see if anything leading to your head eyes is out of alignment.

I started going for the 1st time ever, now 2 visits and am amazed. Worth looking into.
---kathr4453 on 8/17/12

Jamea, The most common eye diseases today are cateracts, detached retina, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.
Early diagnosis is paramount.
none of these can be cured by faith healers!
(BTW a cateract can also be a very expensive Japanese car)
---1st_cliff on 8/17/12

Jamea: There is a huge difference between an optician, an optometrist and an ophthalmologist. Opticians make glasses. Optometrists measure the eyes for eyeglasses. Ophthalmologists are medical doctors who diagnose and treat diseases of the eyes.

If you only saw an optometrist, you probably were not examined for something being wrong with your eyes. See an ophthalmologist for your vision problem, and ask them if it isn't a problem with your eyes, could it be neurological? Don't give up trying to find out exactly what is causing your vision problem. But it starts with seeing the right medical professional to get to the root of the problem.
---Trish on 8/16/12

Jamea: Have you been to a pain specialist? I asked you this before. They have a procedure that can give a year or two of relief. It's called a rhizotomy. I have been dealing with disc related back pain for three years, and I give thanks to our Lord for my pain specialist. They don't sure, but a year pain free is better than none.
---Trish on 8/16/12

thanks 4all the replies, keep them coming, cliff i had surgery on my disc to relieve pain, stil waiting for cure,my eyes see loads flashing dots and other things optician says there ok but i cant see properly!
---james3475 on 8/16/12

James, For your back, see an orthopedic surgeon, for your eyesight see an opthamologist!
A faith healer is a whole lot cheaper, lots of luck!
---1st_cliff on 8/15/12

Strongaxe, I agree with you, there is two kinds of suffering, physically ill and suffering for Christ, Put in prison, whipped etc.
Paul's thorn in the flesh was not physical. This thorn was sent to him by God to keep him humble. As with Job. Satan was the immediate cause but God was the ultimate cause. The word messenger (Gr. angellos or angel) was a demon person, not a physical illness. The best explanation for this demon is that he was indwelling the ring leader of the Corinthian conspiracy, the leader of the false prophets. Through them they were tearing up Paul's beloved church, driving a painful stake through Paul. Further support for this view comes from the context of chap. 10-13, which is one of fighting adversaries (false prophets).
---Mark_V. on 8/16/12

James,Psycho=mind
Somatic=body
The mind can cause some illnesses and also cure some.
The body does try to heal itself, note how injuries heal.(with time)
Auto suggestion (hypnosis) is used to stop smoking etc..
The brain is a marvelous creation, looking at high-tec just boggles the imagination!
Mars landing for example!

\\People at healing rallies have tossed their insulin and went into diabetic shock!
Or ended up in hospital later after being convinced they were healed!
---1st_cliff on 8/13/12\\

I've told you my story about my kidneys.

I don't see how their going from 19% function to 40% immediately and now stabilized at 49% is psychosomatic. At least I'm not on dialysis! And it's enough to keep my nephrologists (both Hindus) wondering.

Glory to Jesus Christ!
---Cluny on 8/15/12

Have you seen a pain specialist? I really think you should be seeking help there. I still deal with pain now and then, but nothing like I used to. We're not doctors.

Paul had a thorn in the flesh that God used to teach him. Read 2 Corinthians..
---Trish on 8/13/12

Hi every1,my leg is sore from the problem in my back,I dragged it along for 4weeks until I couldn't walk, now should I believe that's it healed and try to get on with work?
---Jamea3475 on 8/13/12

Cluny, You're right that psycho-somatic healing is a form of healing for sure.
1st it is not "Divine" healing ,Jesus' healing were instant and unlimited and thorough.

StrongAxe,
So you think the original poster deliberately caused his back and eyes to be malfunctioned?

Where did I ever say that deliberately maiming ourselves would count as suffering with Christ?

In Acts 9:16, God told Ananias about Paul "I will show him how much he must suffer for My name's sake"

Among them ? ?

"there was given me a thorn in the flesh...I implored the Lord three times...And He has said to me "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness...Therefore, I am content with WEAKNESS, insults, distress, persecution, difficulties, FOR CHRIST'S SAKE (2Cor 12:7-10)

Paul's thorn in the flesh (probably eyes) was considered suffering for Christ's sake
---James_L on 8/12/12

jamea, I've mentioned before on these blogs that I have several serious medical condition.

God has made provision for them--my meds.

Maybe God's provision for your pain is the cortisone shot (which I've had from time to time).

if you can afford them, humble yourself, take them, and thank God for His provision for you.

Glory to Jesus Christ!
---Cluny on 8/11/12

Jesus healed the infirm as a "demonstration" of the fact that he can and will heal all in the kingdom to come!
In the present day it is not happening ask any dead person, amputee, quadriplegic, down syndrome, autistic, cerebral palsy, blind form birth, deaf from birth, spina bifida, conjoined twins etc...
What you see in religious rallies is psycho-somatic healing!

James_L:

The scripture you mentioned specifically refers to the the unjust persecution believers suffer at the hand of unbelievers. Jesus even said this would happen.

This is in stark contrast to pain and suffering one suffers for other reasons, for example, illness. Jesus did NOT tell his followers to "grin and bear it". When the sick came to him, he didn't say "Suffer - trust me. It builds character". No, instead, he healed them.

Yes, it may be that tribulations can sometimes help build patience and other virtues, but Jesus never preached a message of masochism - that is, to try to deliberately heap as much misery on ourselves as possible in order to benefit from that as much as possible.
---StrongAxe on 8/11/12

\\if one does NOT have such an assurance....suffering now just seems cruel and pointless.\\

That's why I cited several scriptural references - to share that hope. It makes me sick to hear Christians say "we don't know why we suffer sometimes"

We SHOULD know, because scripture is clear:

"Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you....when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. (1Peter 4:12-13)

\\why did Jesus bother healing anyone at all?\\
---StrongAxe on 8/10/12

To validate (in the minds of others) His authority and message, et al
---James_L on 8/11/12

Romans 5

3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience,

4 And patience, experience, and experience, hope:

5 And hope maketh not ashamed, because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
---Cluny on 8/11/12

\\trish i have been offered the cortisone shots but its only a tempory measure,\\

jamea, did you ever hear the story about the man who was stuck on his roof during a flood, waiting for God to save him?

He refused a rowboat, a motor boat, and a helicopter sent to rescue him, insisting that he wanted God to save him.

Of course, he drowned.

When he asked God why he died, God told him, "I sent you a rowboat, a motor boat, and a helicopter. What more did you want?"

Think about it.

Glory to Jesus Christ!

James_L:

It may all be well and fine, if you KNOW that suffering you go through NOW will have a long-term benefit later - one can be sustained by that hope. But what if one does NOT have such an assurance? In such a case, suffering now just seems cruel and pointless.

Besides, if suffering is such a good thing, why did Jesus bother healing anyone at all? He would have been helping better in the long run by letting them suffer in their infirmities, no? But he DID heal them, indicating that their suffering was a BAD thing.
---StrongAxe on 8/10/12

\\cluny how do i know wat god wants?...,cluny why would god not want to heal me?
---jamea3475 on 8/9/12\\

As I said, you WILL be healed in the World to Come, but God never promised healing for all in this life.

There were many lame who lay by the pool of Bethesda--but Jesus healed only ONE.

The lame beggar who lay by the Beautiful Gate of the Temple was doubtless seen many times by Jesus--but nothing was done for him UNTIL Peter and John came to him. And surely he was NOT the only beggar there.

What does God want? Your salvation and sanctification.

Glory to Jesus Christ!
---Cluny on 8/10/12

Jamea: I know the cortisone shots are only temporary. That is why my pain specialist does the rhizotomy. A rhizotomy is where the doctor uses a fluroscope to use a laser to burn the nerves that are causing the pain. It is done while you are sedated. The nerves take at least six months to two years to grow back. I had one done last August, and I am still pain free.

The reason God may choose not to heal me is to teach me to lean on Him more, and to grow my faith. Scripture says we will go through many trials in this life as believers. My job is to glorify God as I go through mine.
---Trish on 8/9/12

\\why would god not want to heal me?\\
---jamea3475 on 8/9/12

It's possible that you are one of the elect, foreknown as a joint-heir with Christ.

If that's the case, then God has predestined you for a life of suffering, whereby you are being conformed to the image of Christ.

The end of that suffering is to share in Christ's glory.

Ref.
Romans 8:16-39
Hebrews 2:9-10
1Peter 2:21

And a whole host of other scriptures

The question is - IF God has predestined you to suffer with Christ, and for you to become a joint-heir through that suffering,

Why on earth would you NOT want to suffer?

But what does GOD want for you?

That's the real question. Everything here you're saying is "I want......"

Glory to Jesus Christ!

jamea, you can go to someone who says that they are given that gift. but, i guaranty you that if it does not work, they will say:

1) you do not have enough faith
2) it's not God's will
3) you are healed...just wait and you will see.

just ask God to reveal what's really bothering you or ask him who you need to admit it to. (be careful there)
---aka on 8/8/12

Jamea: I have had constant chronic pain issues for many years. I suggest that you go to a doctor who is a pain specialist. My pain is because of the discs in my back as well. My doctor gives me cortisone shots and a procedure called a rhizotomy, which has given me over a year of relief.

I want to reply to a few comments, the few other things is I'd like my eyesight be healed the pain in my body gone due to,my disc,I believe god can heal me,I'm just wondering is it worth it to visit a person who claims that god has give them the gift of healing?
---Jamea3475 on 8/8/12

Jamea, if your looking for healing and a true believer, my suggestion is, go to God, ask for His will to be done in your life, it displays your faith that whatsoever God does, will be right and just. If you are looking for prayer from your bro/sisters, many here will pray for you. Prayers groups are wonderful, they bring the body of Christ together. But we will do what you can do yourself, ask for God's will to be done in your life. God can heal and does many times, through gifted man in hospitals and other places if that is what He decides to do. You could be in a car crash, an bleeding to death, and someone, whether a believer or not, will stop and stop you from bleeding to death. Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, He is always right.
---Mark_V. on 8/8/12

Mark Eaton: In today's society, it could be working in the medical profession. Some Christian doctors minister to more than their patients' bodies. They pray with and for their patients.
---Trish on 8/7/12

I seem to remember this Scripture about the gift of healing:

1 Cor 12:9 "to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit"

Anyone have an opinion on what a gift of healing is?

Wow, I'm sorry about your friend Trish. Makes me more grateful than ever that I survived, even though Heaven is better. But my mom's already lost 2 of her children so I didn't want to be the 3rd! God bless, hugs, Mary
---Mary on 8/7/12

Amen again, Cluny. I remember a young mom at a church I attended when I was a baby in the Lord. She battled an aggressive breast cancer, and went to the elders of the church to be anointed with oil and prayed over. Within a month, she was home with the Lord. A friend said that the Lord didn't heal her. I said He did, when she entered His presence in heaven she was free of the cancer, and no longer suffering. We visited her in the hospital about a week before she died. I was about her age, and it left a lasting impression on me.

\\The truth is, He heals who He chooses for His purpose. He also allows some to remain unhealed as well, for His purpose. \\

But remember, ALL diseases and infirmities will be healed in the Kingdom of Heaven.

jamea, what are these "few other things" you are talking about?

I have various ailments, and God is managing them with medicine, which He has provided for me. And I also had trouble with cataracts, which God healed through surgery. In fact, I see better after it than ever I did before it.

Glory to Jesus Christ!
