Praise God More Often

Revelations 4:11 says all things were created for God's pleasure. We're told to rejoice before the Lord. A merry heart does good like a medicine. If we rejoiced, praised, are happier more wouldn't we give God more pleasure as we fellowship with Him and make us healthier in physical life and Spiritually?

Sis. Darline, the passages in (Rev. 4:11) in the context is referring to the four living "ones" or "beings" these are the cherubin (sing, cherub) those angels frequently referred to in the Old T. in connection with God's presence, power, and holiness. They say
"You are worthy, O Lord to receive glory and honor and power. For You created all things And by Your will they exist and were created".
Like the cherubs we should also give thanks for creating us for His own pleasure. We should rejoice, praise him, and be happy that He get's pleasure as we do fellowship with Him in the Spirit. And continue to exist because of Him. Very good points Darline, peace I leave you,

Rejoicing may be thought of as an action, something we DO, as in a celebration. This sort of rejoicing may be natural. However, when thinking of Phil 4:4 "rejoice in the Lord always" it seems to have more to do with an inner state of being and heart attitude which may/may not be manifest, or "seen" outwardly at any given moment, in a variety of ways, whether in word or deed, .. and must be of Him, to His praise and glory.
I think of joy, rather than happy. He is our joy and we are His joy. "The joy of the Lord is my strength" and "Jesus... who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross" .
God's presence within always impacts a believers life, in fact IS his/her life

Cluny: What I am reading in Darlene's posts is questions with context on which the questions are based. The context is the statements. The questions are not statements.

Cluny, that proves nothing as you see it,what you are saying about me is an untruth you are telling on me. I try to be polite and you fault me for it. I'm not shy I say what I mean. You don't know what I was thinking, which was,why don't people take time to fellowship with God,praise God and adore Him more in a deeper way. I have a sincere desire to understand how much healthier, physically and Spiritually,Christians can be if we get closer and closer to God. The closer we are to God,walking more in the Spirit the better we can promote the Kingdom of God. Chip thanks for your answer and I agree we are to obey God's Word. Getting closer in the way I said only helps us obey and serve God better. God Bless

Hi, Darlene (c: It doesn't have to be all the way one way or another. It is a good question and making a good statement > you "might" be multi-tasking (c:

I am thinking of how we love and worship our Father, by desiring to be more like Him. The child who wants to be like you can be the one who appreciates you the most. But the child who loves you in order to get candy and money and ice cream? Well, loving God is much better than only using "faith" to try to use Him!!!

And God "gives us richly all things to enjoy." (in 1 Timothy 6:17) So, this is worthy to discuss and get into more. Thank you, God bless you, too (c:

Cluny, with all due respect, you don't know what you are talking about. Telling you,you are mistaken proves I wanted to make a statement,no,you are wrong and what you are saying is a complete untruth. You don't even recognize when a person is trying to be polite. I am far from shy,I say what I mean, and if you don't believe me that is your problem. To search God's Word and examine the different verses for deeper understanding and a possible way we can grow in God more, wouldn't we be better equiped to serve Him? If we pray, adore, praise, worship, exalt God,he inhabits the praise of His people, what lasting effect does that have on the person who does?
---Darlene_1 on 8/18/12

Your attempt at telling me I was mistaken only proves that you really wanted to make a statement.

Glory to Jesus Christ!
---Cluny on 8/18/12

I think the answer is actually: if you want to please God - be obedient to His Word, what He tells you, where He leads you, remembering that yours may be the only face of Jesus that people around you will ever see.
Yes, rejoicing has its place, as does all you mention, but it is not the point of your existence as a Christian.

Would we be happier knowing the rewards of happiness and then pretending to be happy.

We would then have to be happy at the time and then hit the lotto stakes and achieve a win like a starter motor turns a motor into startup.
---sean8684 on 8/18/12

Cluny no you are mistaken I really am asking a question. God created man for fellowship with Him therefore I just wonder if we do all of those things more would they bring us more peace, and less stress plus a closer relationship with God. I wonder if Christians don't know the true worth of taking more time with God,to praise and worship Him more,to just be still before Him and know He is God. Love is a two way street with God the more time we give the more we give God our love, the more He pours out His love on us. Since things were created for God's pleasure shouldn't Christians try to please Him more in every way they can? Aren't we missing out when we don't take enough time for God and cheating ourselves and Him?
---Darlene_1 on 8/17/12

Darlene, did you want to ask a question or make a statement?

Sounds to me like you really meant to do the latter.

Glory to Jesus Christ!
