amen jerry, happy to hear you agree also. I don't know how I didn't see that. I do notice different versons of the bible. I do know new versions (last 50 yrs) leaves the deity of Christ out. if you go to buy a bible in a Christian store, all the new versions are at eye level and easy to find but the king james bible is hid on top or bottom where they are hard to find.
---shira4368 on 4/2/13

Shira: "Michael, you are the only person on christianet who agrees with me about the translations of God's Word."

Not so! I agree with you. My favorite text for comparison is 2 Pet 2:9. Only the KJV portrays God as a righteous judge - waiting until after judgement to administer punishment.

2Pe 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

I really don't care if you think I researched what. I said I did and I did. as far as an independent Baptist church and the kjv, I have never heard anyone keep on and on about the kjv. I don't know what church you attended and maybe you went to one of those dead churches.
---shira4368 on 4/1/13

shira4368:

Just one example: Philippians 2:6-7

KJV: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men

NIV: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage,
(most other translations are similar to this).

In other words, Jesus did not cling to his divinity, but took the form of a normal man. All versions affirm this. KJV affirms this in verse 7. But KJV verse 6 says the very opposite! Clearly a mistranslation.
---StrongAxe on 4/1/13

James_L
Who told you the KJV was flawed or 1John 5:7 should be omitted, was it man or the Holy Spirit?
I John 5:7 Being a great verse in the Bible on the Trinity, we should be suspicious of opposition to it.
Siniaticus and Vaticanus not including the verse means nothing to a true Bible believer. I believe Vaticanus omits the entire book of Revelation,
All new translations compare themselves to the KJV. Do you ever wonder why the new versions never compare themselves to one another? For some strange reason they all line up against one Book,
---michael_e on 4/1/13

michael e,

What "proof" is it for you to accuse other translations of deleting words that should have never been ADDED to the kjv in the first place ??

How about 1John 5:7 being added into the kjv ??

Shira,
I don't believe for one second that you've "researched" anything about this issue.

I went to an Independent Baptist Church revival last year, and about 40% of the preaching was nothing but propping up the KJV as divinely inspired

I can only imagine how many times you've heard this nonsense.

If you hear something enough times, it becomes truth apart from any real facts
---James_L on 4/1/13

Michael, you are the only person on christianet who agrees with me about the translations of God's Word. I have researched the perverted versions and they all leave many verses out of them. for instance, God is preparing us a mansion...not a room. Jesus is called a man where king james version says Jesus. lot of difference. praise God for one who can see the truth.
---shira4368 on 3/31/13

Col 1:14 In whom we have redemption through HIS BLOOD, even the forgiveness of sins:

Satan hates the Atoning Blood of the Lord, so we shouldn't be surprised to find the blood missing in modern translations:

NIV...redemption, the forgiveness of sins

NASB... redemption, the forgiveness of sins

NRSV... redemption, the forgiveness of sins

Acts 8:37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
NIV ?
NSAB ?
NRSV ?

\\Satan has infiltrated the word of God through all English translations save one (KJV)\\
---michael_e on 3/31/13

BCV please
---James_L on 3/31/13

Satan has infiltrated the word of God through all English translations save one (KJV) Why wouldnt he since he is still temporarily the god of this world. But God the creator promised his Word would never be changed, so we can only teach from the only source that the blood of Christ has not been removed from and changed in many other ways.

All of the bible was written for us to learn of God. Today we get our doctrine from the books of Romans Philemon written by the apostle sent to us by Jesus Christ the Apostle Paul.

I don't know about questions, but the 3 most important parts of the Bible to me are
Genesis 12
Exodus ch 12-15
John 6
---Nikki on 3/30/13

Remembering that the Holy Spirit is the greatest Teacher (John 16:12-15, I John 2:27), who taught you that the King James Bible was not infallible, the Holy Spirit or man?
---michael_e on 3/30/13

\\ my bible says Jesus is getting a mansion ready but other versions say Jesus is preparting a "room".\\

Actually, shira, "room" or "dwelling place" is the meaning of the Greek word in this passage. "Mansion" is one of the places the KJV either mistranslated or fudged things.

\\another one is the modern versions are leaving out God, hell, heaven, virgin birth. \\

shira, please give the name of ONE modern translation that leaves out the Virgin Birth.

Be specific, and just don't repeat things you've heard other people say. (This is what made you think "so help me God" was part of the Constitutional presidential oath, remember?)

Glory to Jesus Christ!

strongax, what part of the king james bible is wrong? this is an important subject to me. all the other bibles seem to use words that does not give Jesus Christ deity. I have searched and read and searched and read. I know there are bibles in other languages but I am speaking of the english. I have no access to foreign bibles. many of the new versions change meanings of words. I have studied the king james bible from its beginning. guess you can use a magazine if you desire to do so but I will stick with the old stuff.
---shira4368 on 3/31/13

shira4368:

There were many Bibles in many languages before the 1611 Authorized Version. Do you believe ALL ploys of satan? If so, you would think God has chosen English, above other languages (including Hebrew and Greek) to share his word. Furthermore, it means God cared little for believers during the 80% of Christian history before 1611, and for people in most of the world (that is not English-speaking).

As far as "leaving things out" - it matters not what the KJV says, or new versions say. It matters more what the original Hebrew and Greek actually say. Sometimes the KJV got things wrong too.
---StrongAxe on 3/30/13

elena, when you are studying your bible, pay attention to the things that come in 3's. write them down. I am trying to do that too. I must admit I am not as faithful to study like I use to. just my attention span has done like my body, it deteriorates. I am trying to get back in my bible like I once did. I still think we could be best friends. one of my dearest friends is sis Jareldeen. love her to pieces.

Aaaaaa ladies! The conversation you're holding on this blog "What do you believe are the three most important questions in the Bible?" reminds me of waaaay back in the day when people had telephone party lines. You could pickup your phone receiver & hear someone else's conversation, & before you could dial out a call on your phone they had to hang up (get off the line).

I don't mean to cut in on your ever so friendly chit chat, but this blog is about something else totally unrelated. So, if you don't mind, maybe you could take your conversation to the pen pal area. Thank you! :)

HANG UP! GET OFF THE BLOG CLUNY!!! :/

wow elena, I am happy you went to a sing. I know the song you sang. our choir sings that. I use to sing in a trio but thyroid cancer ruined my voice. the surgeon messed up my vocal chords. I love music. that has always been a part of my being. it comes naturally...well it use to.

Hello,Sis.Shira4368, yes, agree you teaching the Trinity.God gave you wealth of knowledge! worth more sis.Shira4368 than money, & it is good realize, knowing it life fruitfull "spiritually & you help others like myself! we probably never meet my health very delicate, last night went to a "singing" I sang 2 songs. They told me "ELENA you brought down the house!" I always ha!ha! Like to be last..smile! I was in such pain when we got to there & I prayed "please Lord, let me be alright I want to enjoy myself & he answered my prayer immediately!" Pain left. I sang a Valentine song, & " Jesus is the best thing that ever happen to me."

hi elena thanks for the sweet words. I think the whole bible is the most important parts. we can't believe one verse and not believe the other verses. many faiths are based on 1 or 2 verses in the bible. frankly I never understood that. all the parts of the bible inter-react with each other. it fits together like a glove. did you know the trinity is all thru the bible? even Jesus name is 3...Lord Jesus Christ. three means something in God's Word. it is interesting to say the least. God bless you elena. you have an humble spirit even in your words on christianet. God bless you I still think we could be best friends. thanks elena

\\there is even a bible that is gender neutral. isn't that a mockery?\\

No, because at times Greek and Hebrew ARE gender neutral.

As I've already mentioned, to give one example, ANTHROPOS means "human being" and can mean "mankind/humankind". ANIR, however, is always gender specific male.

\\ its for the sodomites. by the way\\

Do you mean those who oppress the poor? That's what the Bible says the sin of Sodom was Ezekiel 16:49.

Christian, I never said the world would burn up. no one knows how the earth will be destroyed. we do know it won't be floodied. I ask you if you believed the earth will be destroyed with fire. I said if it is, I won't be here. I won't be here because Jesus is coming back to get His church.

cluny I still can't find my post but I did read the one you posted. I remember you saying the kjv was no more inspired than all the other versions.the other versions are a ploy of satan to remove Jesus, hell, heaven church from God's Word. that is satan inspired. one change is john 14, my bible says Jesus is getting a mansion ready but other versions say Jesus is preparting a "room". mansion is sure different than rooms. another one is the modern versions are leaving out God, hell, heaven, virgin birth. cont no 2

I am sorry for what ever it was I said. if the bible was copyrighted, all the new versions would not be on the market. many many versions have been written. there is even a bible that is gender neutral. isn't that a mockery? its for the sodomites. by the way I am 74 but I don't feel like it. Shira, if a person is born of the Spirit, our spirit is already baptized into One body in Christ forever. We are even told that by grace "even when we were dead in trespasses God made us alive together with Christ and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus" That is why I kept telling Gordon that what God has done no one can change. Not even us. It's a done deal. It's not going to happen later, it already did. We now can worship God is Spirit and Truth.

shira, do you even remember you said: "do you really believe Christ will burn the earth up (I won't be here) and still be on earth?"

Whether you'll be here or not when Christ destroy this earth is not the issue. The issue is you specifically asked, "do you really believe Christ will burn the earth up?" Which carries a tone of unbelief of what's prophesied by Peter in his epistle.

It's a big difference to your later reply of "the bible teaches that Christ will return to claim His own. when the earth is destroyed I said I won't be here."

Make up your mind what you are actually implying. I know I didn't misunderstand you. That's because it's all in black/white.

"do you really believe Christ will burn the earth up (I won't be here) and still be on earth?" shira

Do you even know when Christ will return? Could be today, tomorrow or 100 years later or even longer. This shouldn't matter to a Christian.

What you are confessing above is simply you don't believe in Peter's prophesy in 2 Peter 3. You and I may not be walking on this earth then, but make no mistake of what's going to take place before He judges the world. And I assure you that 2 Peter 3 is not a parable nor a metaphor but what is to come as declared.

Conclusion to your confession: You don't believe the Word.

Leon, the questions I posed to you are from verses found in the Bible as answers. Here they are:

1. "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing..."

2. "I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

3. "thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

What's your problem to my questions then?

What do you believe are the three most important questions in the Bible?

The Bible holds the answers to Gods purpose for mankind, and the answers to the times of trouble to come upon the whole world that has been waiting for the Lords return to earth and promised reward he brings of salvation. It provides the answers to eternal life and what it will be like and the great purpose God has for all of mankind to receive salvation. It is a beautiful account of answers to all of lifes questions.
