Matthew 15:24 "But He answered and said, "I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel."
Matthew 15:25 "Then came she and worshipped Him, saying, "Lord, help me."
Matthew 15:26 "But He answered and said, "It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs."
Matthew 15:28 "Then Jesus answered and said unto her, "O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt." And her daughter was made whole from that very hour."

I do identify myself with all those chosen by God because they were all sinners, and God had mercy on then as He did with me. Some that He chose were pretty terrible, some more then others, but they were all sinners saved by the grace of God.

Bro. Mark E, I read your story and I am so sorry to hear about the battle your son went through. Like you, I met a few people who reacted the same way towards God. And God knows what was in your heart. He knew your pain and why you wondered why your son. It is the pain of losing someone you love so dearly. Many things we do not understand about the deaths of many. God has allowed sin to continue for His own purpose and will. I am glad God restored your heart for Him. Peace brother.

Lu18:13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
---trey on 3/12/13

At different life periods I relate to different ones. First was the thief on the cross, Prodigal son (have truly lived this one and relate spiritually).
Then the publican....

I would be that which David was. There are challenges....we should run at.
Psalm 119:104
Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.

I identify most with Peter, Cephas, or Simon, whatever you wish to call him.

I identify with Peter's impetuous nature, his eagerness to rush in and take action even when its wrong, and his ability to shoot his mouth off before his brain was loaded.

I identify with his desire to protect himself, even at the expense of denying his Lord. Lastly, I identify with Peter "losing his way" after Jesus was crucified and going back to fishing.

I lost my way after my only child lost his fight to cancer. I questioned a God who would allow a child to be sick 24 of his 26 years and to miss out on the blessings of life we take for granted.

Praise God, I have been restored by our Lord in the same way Peter was.

I identify best to the repentant thief who hung on the cross with Jesus.

"I assume you mean the PUblican of our Lord's parable?" Cluny

Well actually, it's what Christ spoke, "And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?

But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."

Hence, the sinner...
