Speaking of being rude, Jed, I've noticed you've said NOTHING to Leon about his tasteless remark--since removed--about my "Depends covered backside."

Why?

---Cluny on 5/4/13

Announcer: "The Adventures of Superman" Faster than a speeding bullet! More powerful than a locomotive! Able to leap tall buildings at a single bound!

Voices: "Look up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's Superman!"

Announcer: "Yes, it's Superman, strange visitor from another planet who came to Earth with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men. Superman, who can change the course of mighty rivers, bend steel in his bare hands, and who, disguised as Clark Kent, mild-mannered reporter for a great metropolitan newspaper [The Daily Planet], fights a never ending battle for truth, justice, and the American way."

The sinless, other-worldly, god-like Superman. Hmmm! :/

\\And then you think you are receiving heavenly treasure when someone calls you out for using Christ's name to be rude and bully people? \\

Wrong.

I KNOW I am receiving heavenly treasure.

You're just mad because I don't roll over and admit you're right.

Glory to Jesus Christ!
---Cluny on 5/4/13

There you go again, Jed.

The point is, you are NOT rightfully rebuking me. You just THINK you are.
---Cluny on 5/3/13

No, the point is that you are NOT right EVER in the way you talk to people. You are rude and talk like you know everything when you clearly do not. And then you think you are receiving heavenly treasure when someone calls you out for using Christ's name to be rude and bully people? Somehow you feel like you are justified for your rudeness and unchristian-like behavior because you think your point is right and the person you are bullying is wrong. Even if that were the case, it doesn't excuse your rudeness and you certainly don't earn treasure when someone rebukes you for your ungodly attitude.
---Jed on 5/3/13

\\. You don't get heavenly treasure when you wrongfully and viciously attack people in the Name of Christ and then someone rightfully rebukes you for it.\\

There you go again, Jed.

The point is, you are NOT rightfully rebuking me. You just THINK you are.

Karen.... I'm not grumpy, but I do sleep like a baby.
---Cluny on 5/3/13

For instance, a plane being hit with a missle and all the people falling to their deaths. It is evil to want to see something like that.

So be it NR! :) Many years ago I read an interesting statement (Bartlett's Familiar Quotations):

"The fool tries to convince me with his reasons. The wise many persuades me with my own."

I'm not going to beat my head up against the CN blog trying to "convince" you or anyone else to see things my way. :) How foolish would that be?! :/ Peace bro!

Leon... I respect your opinion, but sometimes a movie is just that... just a movie.

---NurseRobert on 4/30/13

"Oh good grief.... Its a MOVIE!"
---NurseRobert on 4/28/13

Of course you're free to believe like you want NR. I choose to believe it's a movie with a religious alternative that subtly opposes Bible truth. In my opinion, it's not just "a MOVIE". It's not merely entertainment. Rather, it strongly suggests a universe & godlike beings vastly different from what the Bible says.

Again, that's my opinion & I do respect yours. :)

"You're the answer son. You're the answer to are we alone in the universe." (Pa Kent, "Man of Steele, Trailer 3)

So, the alien son of Jor-El is the answer? I find that concept most disturbing since I believe Jesus, the Son & Word of Elohim, is the answer for the world today.

It is Elohim who who first, made us. Secondly, He then initiated first contact with us in the Garden!

\\The names have changed, but the malicious nonsense is always the same.
---Leon on 4/27/13\\

Like the remarks you made--since removed--about rear ends covered by Depends?

Glory to Jesus Christ!
---Cluny on 4/27/13

James: "Eywa" & "Yahweh". Yes, I see & hear the similarities in both names. Without fact (truth) there could be no fiction. Fiction mimics truth.

Mormon religionist fantasize themselves as becoming gods (super-beings) on other worlds when they depart life on earth. In "Man of Steel" the driving theme is that of super, godlike beings (good & some bad) performing incredible feats of strength & power in the heavens, & on earth, similar to Greek & Norse gods.

I believe today's discussion is as "IMPORTANT" as the Apostle Paul explaining the True & Living Unknown God (Yahweh) to the highly intellectual, yet froward Greeks in contrast to their dead, false gods.
---Leon on 4/27/13

Cluny....As you know I am not one of the women who complains about her husband. Sometimes I am grumpy, but won't admit to being old. All smiles today at our state's Special Olympics.
---KarenD on 4/27/13

True Jed. IT IS WRITTEN!

3 John 1:9-10

New International Version (NIV)

"I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first, will not welcome us. So when I come, I will call attention to what he is doing, spreading malicious nonsense about us. Not satisfied with that, he even refuses to welcome other believers. He also stops those who want to do so and puts them out of the church."

The names have changed, but the malicious nonsense is always the same.

Leon,
I have not seen any trailer for this movie, but if what you say is true, then the movie seems to be a promotion of Mormon doctrine

Interestingy, I saw the movie Avatar, and noted some interesting things

The deity was named "Eywa", a somewhat seeming reversal of Yahweh

A paraplegic man getting a new body that can do fantastic things

There were a couple others I can't recall right now

But the movie introduced heretical ideas about the natural world being spiritually one with the deity, and others
---James_L on 4/27/13

The creators of the Superman character and myth (for lack of a better word) were Jewish high school students in 1933 who took the name from Nietsche.

Whether they had any thing in mind by using the syllable EL as part of their characters' names we'll never know.

Maybe, whether they meant to or not, they created a Christian allegory.

In any case, it's only popular entertainment, and not to be chewed over so much. It's not that important.

Glory to Jesus Christ!
---Cluny on 4/27/13

You can see the divisiveness that one mean spirited person can cause. This is why churches fall apart.
---Jed on 4/27/13

"Man of Steel" movie: The infant Kal-El has an other-worldly father named Jor-El. Before sending his infant "SON" Kal-El to earth, Jor-El & wife discuss the child's destiny: The mother says,"They will kill him." "He will be a god to them", says the father. I believe the scene depicts a subtle allusion to a TRINITY of god-like beings.

On earth the "SON" (Kal-El) becomes known as SUPERMAN because of his superhuman might, strength & power! The Hebrew Name of God: El comes from a root word meaning "might, strength, power" & probably derives from the Ugaritic term for god.

There's a story about Abp. Desmond Tutu.

Before he was a bishop, he was walking down the street and a white man told him, "I don't move out of the way for trash."

Tutu said, "I, on the other hand, always do," and let him pass.

I apologize to both Leon and Jed.

Jed: Cluny's recent comments speak volumes to the content of his prideful, Pv. 16:18 character. So be it ~ I'm done with his foolishness!

MAN OF STEEL movie...What do you think? :)
---Leon on 4/26/13

Cluny, the very first comment on this blog was YOU belittling and attacking someone for no other reason than to be mean spirited, as usual. There were no previous comments for you to respond to so your claim that you were trying to show someone how they sound is a major fail. THAT is what I was doing when I saw you attacking Leon for no reason when he had done nothing to you. I was giving YOU a dose of your own medicine, not the other way around.
---Jed on 4/26/13

I thought you promised me you weren't going to reply to me any more on this blog.

In any case, I did not use scatalogical replies about adult diapers--garments that people I actually know are required to use by their unchosen medical conditions--like you did.

So who actually needs to apologize, Leon?

Cluny: So, is that why you attacked me on 4/20? Sir, I find your explanation to be shallow & does not give God any glory whatsoever. You need to repent!
---Leon on 4/26/13

\\Cluny accuses people of other things all the time, like being non-christian, unsaved, being in a "worldly denomination church".\\

StrongAxe is right.

I use the attack phrases used by others on here to show how they sound.

Too bad the very people who need to realize this don't get it.

Glory to Jesus Christ!
---Cluny on 4/26/13

Yes, it applies to everyone, myself included. However, I don't recall Cluny casually accusing people of blasphemy on here.
---StrongAxe on 4/25/13

What does that have to do with anything? Cluny accuses people of other things all the time, like being non-christian, unsaved, being in a "worldly denomination church". You think his accusations are any less judgmental than admonishing someone for blaspheming God's name? Cluny engages in "spiritual fruit inspecting" all the time, he's always belittling and making snarky remarks at others. What difference does it make if the "fruit inspecting" pertains to blasphemy or to something else? Wow, what a hypocrite!
---Jed on 4/25/13

'Axe: An unsubstantiated accusation of any kind, regardless of who it comes from, is to say the least unfruitful. Such is the case of Cluny's initial allegation (4/20) that I had "an agenda" not only on this blog but with most of the blogs I've posted. I can only assume Cluny was having a bad day when he made those carelessly slanderous remarks against me. Nonetheless, I'm willing to forgive & move on. I'd really like to get back on track with the subject as it relates to the "Man of Steel" movie trailer. Thx guys!!! :)

Leon:

You said: 'Axe: What you say is true as it does pertain to us all. If Cluny is still lurking about, I hope he'll take your comments under advice since he initially started the judgmental fruit fight on this blog. Surely there's yet hope for us all. What do you think? :)

Yes, it applies to everyone, myself included. However, I don't recall Cluny casually accusing people of blasphemy on here - other than maybe to throw it right back in the face of others who had just done so first (i.e. go make them see just how it feels when others do it to them - and if they don't like that, they should remember the Golden Rule and not do it to others themselves).
---StrongAxe on 4/25/13

Jesus called us to bear spiritual fruit. He did not call us to be spiritual fruit inspectors.
---StrongAxe on 4/25/13

Is that not what you are doing now? Are you not acting as my "fruit inspector"?

God also tells us to discern right and wrong. When I see someone making a mockery out of the name of God (as Cluny often does by belittling others in the name of Christ), I think it is dutiful to remind my errant friend that he is representing Christ and entreat reconsideration of his actions. It's one thing to make a fool out of yourself with your burlesque comments, but when someone insists on attaching Christ's name to their mockeries, then they have crossed a line and I will rebuke them openly.

You said: You missed the key words: "for those who are in Christ Jesus". As I said, you will answer for your blasphemies.

Jesus called us to bear spiritual fruit. He did not call us to be spiritual fruit inspectors. It is not for us to judge whether or not other people are "in Christ Jesus". We should have enough trouble taking care of our own spiritual conditions, and our own potential accidental blasphemies, without needing to constantly dwell on those of others. (Remember Jesus's comments about objects stuck in eyes).

Jed: "Troll"*, now that's an interesting word & unfortunately it happens a lot on CN blogs. I think of it as blog filabustering meant to exhaust the 75 post limit & defeat the blog purpose. Evil! :/

Yes Willie, there are obviously great differences. In my opinion, Jesus was/is the only real Superman in that He is God & man, & "superior" to all others who've ever lived. He overcame death, hell & the grave, & made a way for the salvation of "whosoever" would believe (trust/HOPE) upon Him. SUPER!!! :)

Hi, Leon (c: There is, of course, very obvious difference between Jesus and Superman. Jesus was sure of Himself and fully understood what He was doing . . . "among other things". He died for our sins. Superman would be just about totally finished, if he died. But Jesus fully used dying on the cross. He could take advantage of any evil, and even use it for more and better than what there was, before the evil came! And it says to walk "just as He walked," in 1 John 2:6. We, too, can do this, with God (c: "in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation" (Philippians 2:14-16) > "as He is, so are we in this world." (in 1 John 4:17)

Hi Willie: At last I've made contact with an intelligent lifeform! :) I agree with you, in what you see as a comparison to the Gospel. In my opinion the trailer is a subtle rewrite of the Gospel starting with the war in the heavens. The father decides & the mother agrees to send the son to earth. TRINITY The mother says,"They will kill him." "He will be a god to them", says the father. On earth the son is raised by step parents. JOSEPH... The son works miracles. He's keenly aware of his special abilities & goes out to discover & fulfill his mission in life. The "S" is a symbol for the hope of mankind...
