How To Obey God

I've been stressed thinking there is only one right way to do anything, and I'll probably do it wrong, but is there a Bible verse saying there is more than one right way to do a thing and still please and obey God?

Sis. Lidia, I can always tell you are very grounded in the faith. I am sorry you have gone through a lot and witnessed so much more then I have. yes, many things come into our minds that we some times question why? That is natural for anyone of us. So many thing we do not understand. When my wife went into surgery my daughter was five minutes late, so she was the only one who did not see her before she died. To this day she regrets been late. I tell her it was not meant to be that way. Not to worry but she still feels bad for not seeing her. Some of you sure go through so many things others don't. I have had five die close to me, and the longer I live the more I know I will see. It has to be that way. Peace I leave you.
---Mark_V. on 11/22/13

Lydia, thanks for sharing that here on christianet. The most hurt I've had is holding my daughters hand while she slipped away to eternity and a regret I have is not being beside my husband when he passed. I should have stayed with him all night but being too tired took over. God bless you Lydia, you are a precious friend.
---shira4368 on 11/21/13

Hello,Yes! Sis.Shira4368, exactly,you right! So angry 27 yrs.old so, hurt!

An old lady came home from church, went up her stairs - sniper just shot her in the head she died instantly! Christmas .I took it very personal.

I did not even know her! She was my friend's neighbor.
why? I told God why? Did you allow that??!!
Guy who shot her, did not even know her. bitterness over welm me.
had major depression.

I later understood. It was not for me to stay bitter. For what ever reason.. only God knows. He is sovereign.

we have to remember God is in control, He knows, all I went through.. I no longer question God. I pray.

He is the potter & I am the "clay" . Love of Jesus!
---Lidia4796 on 11/21/13

we don't have to thank God for obstacles but we can thank God in them.
---shira43698 on 9/25/13

Sis. Catherine, you are so right. It is very hard to give thanks to God in all things. But we are called to do that. There is times in our lives when we lose a love one, a child, daughter or son. But we know that ultimately God is in control of all things. But there is times when we cannot display that joy Christ has given us. Yet God understands the problems we go through, even when He went through so much worse. Whatever decision we make, God has already taken care of the outcome. May the joy and love of Christ be with all of you who always pray for others. Peace I leave you.
---Mark_V. on 9/24/13

I better correct you in this if I may. I've had my days, and moments. There has been times I didn't get along with God very well!
---catherine on 9/22/13

Hello,Sis.Catherine, really love your posts many times,we can tell you are just happy and satisfied with Jesus! Rain or shine, hard times & good times!
May the Lord bless you abundantly,in Jesus name.

I love following God's instructions. If you have peace and joy, you'll have nothing to be stressed out over. And I find, even if things don't go well, my hands are clean, because Satan at times will interfere in God's plans. Of course, only if God allows him, that's the good news. And always for a reason. I obeyed God, His instructions, face-to-face. I have joy and peace. That's it.
---catherine on 9/9/13

Samuel, very good advice you gave. There is many (baby Christians) who are just beginning their walk with Christ. So many are carrying with them many things that God has to change, and teach them many things they have to learn about God in their lives. This is only the beginning of their walk with the Lord. They make many mistakes, but little by little the Spirit begins to change the person and he stops making those mistakes.
---Mark_V. on 9/9/13

If you want to obey God. Just share the word with who so ever. That is how easy it is to obey God. The word is the smallest of seeds but when it is sown it grows larger than then all the other stuff you have growing in your garden."LIFE" Matthew 13:32
---Bryan on 9/8/13

Good question! Not that I am aware of. We should continuously seek His guidance. If you mess-up, is not as important to God as people who are defiant in doing things their way.
---catherine on 9/6/13

We must be Born again. We are then new babes in JESUS CHRIST. GOD called the people of Corinthians saints but they did not get it all right. So we should not beat up ourselves for getting some things wrong. Love shows who we follow.

Now we should follow what GOD says in the bible and not our feelings. Read the bible look for truth and do not let preconceived ideas tell you what to believe. We must keep our eyes on JESUS and follow Him.

Hello,Shira4368 wow! that' Bro.Francis try to do " throw the baby out with the bath water!"

Agree Shira100% No one can dictate/ tell you where & definitely it is wrong to try force you leave your denomination, you are happy there.. you definitely know God and it works for you ..

lidia, I don't care who hates me. I know I draw a very straight line in my beliefs. what some feel about me just flies over my head and I don't care. francis is the one who keeps telling me to get saved and change my denomination. my denomination tells others what I believe. I was saved by grace and not by law. others in christianet just don't get it.
---shira4368 on 9/5/13

Hello,Shira4368 yes,you are right.had times, I used to cry all day & night,it did not register in my mind how I have been a good friend to all here, yet, like a woman told me yesterday
she said " I am shock at people
this community! You are one of the most nice persons, help all yet
people hate you!"

I believe her. I do not have a friend, but, neither did Jesus...people he helped turn their backs, when he most needed them..

hold my faith,love for Jesus.
God is real !

I never want to leave my Jesus no matter what. In this hard time I have seen him do miracles in me,don't worry about people opinion NO MORE!

lidia, we all go thru things we don't understand. I don't understand why I got thyroid cancer while I was singing in a trio. took my voice. I wonder why my husband suffered so much when he was sick. why did God take my daughter, she was so young. there are many whys, but I don't understand any of them. I just know God is in control.

Hi Geraldine,

The Word of God is His Way If we follow the "landmarks" we will not become lost.

"The Way of Yahweh"
Gen 18:19 "For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the (way of the Lord), to do justice and judgment, that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which He hath spoken of him."

Way [heb-derekh] strgs 1870 a road or path.

Torah strgs 8454 - the direction "pointed out" or a "teaching"

Ps 86:11 "Teach me Thy way, O Lord, I will walk in Thy truth: Unite my heart to fear Thy name."

Ps 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
---char on 8/26/13

Leviticus 26:15_16 "And if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant:..."

Obedience from the heart precludes spiritual birth. Obedience is what being born of water, preclussion to being born of spirit, is all about. That is
the reason for God saying, "Wash you, make you clean, put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes, cease to do evil,..."
But you rather limit God by saying that it is not possible unless he change you and birth you first?

Peter tells a wicked man "repent therefore", even "pray God", (Acts 8:21_22). Your Philosophy does not hold water.
---Nana on 8/22/13

Nana, (Acts 1:4,5, and Acts 1:8,9) do not contradict what I said,
"The only way to obey God is to be born of the Spirit. There is no other way, but one way. All who are lost do not obey God"
Been born of God or from above, is not the same as been endwelled by the Spirit, or sealed by the Spirit, or baptized by the Spirit. When a person becomes spiritually alive, He is resurrected from spiritual death and brought to spiritual life together with Christ (Eph. 2:4-10). The endwelling of the Spirit, is the giving of the gifts of the Spirit. The sealing of the Spirit is the assurance of our salvation. All are works of the Spirit.
Those in Acts were already alive to Christ, and waiting for the endwelling of the Spirit.

Amen!

1Cor 1:30,31
But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who BECAME FOR US wisdom from God and righteousness and sanctification and redemption that, as it is written, He who glories, LET HIM GLORY IN THE LORD"

That THIEF on the cross did the one most important thing right. He BELIEVED ON JESUS.

Our works are to BELIEVE ON JESUS, John 6:29.

God's will is that we BELIEVE ON JESUS, John 6:40.

The sin the world is convicted of is, unbelief in Jesus, John 16:9.
---Haz27 on 8/21/13

Nothing we do of ourselves pleases God. Look at Luke 18:13-14. Was this man justified by what he said? It sounds like it but in fact he was already given a new resurrected soul before he made this prayer. He was not saved because of this prayer. Hence God gets the glory for his salvation and also the glory for the publicans lamentation. In essence only God can please God. This is the type of daily prayers that should be in our hart continually throughout our Christian lives. Ge 32:10 I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast shewed unto thy servant, Read Rev 4:10b. To God goes all the Glory!

Command and obedience:
Acts 1:4_5 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water, but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

The promise:
Acts 1:8_9 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of their sight.

Lisa once more proved her madness!
---Nana on 8/21/13

The only way to obey God is to be born of the Spirit. There is no other way, but one way. All who are lost do not obey God. All who are saved obey God. Not perfect obedience but nevertheless obedience. No amount of laws can help a person to obey God, he has to be a child of God, born of God. The law never saved anyone.

Family, thoughts came to me from actually,on a blogg posted

In fairness, we all respond in love not vengenge, we as christians ARE to always to DEFEND the faith!
anything worth having worth fighting for! :) say this in love

We need to encourage our brothers and sisters, also, let me say this in love

best pray for that person only God knows who is or who is not saved ...and as ling as we still have breath... saint or sinner there still time to repent, whatever we need to do ...our battle is a spiritual one, breaking down of strongholds.. just had to say that!
Love of Jesus!
---Lidia4796 on 8/15/13

When anyone starts out, even with proper training in how to do something right, they will most likely do it wrong.

It's hard to know what you are talking about. In prayer there are many right ways to do different forms of prayer.

But in all things, practice what is known to be right.

The adage, "Practice makes perfect." is correct.

There is no scripture that would tell you that you don't have to obey all scriptures that require practicing doing it right.

Concentrate of Love. Love to others and love to GOD. We do not expect children to be the same or do things only one way. So why would we think GOD expects us to be any different.

What GOD wants us is for us to be loving for love fulfills or completes the law. When we love we do what is right. That is what GOD is about.

Geraldine, the pastor is right, only God is good. We are told, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning." So "Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of Truth, that we might be a kind of first fruitss of His creatures" So that all the good things we do, we do them because of God. We get no glory for ourselves (self pride), for all the glory goes to God.
Without Christ, of ourselves, there is nothing good in us
"Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins" (Eccl. 7:20).
For, "what ever is not of faith is sin." (Rom. 14:23).

Geraldine, the best answer was given by Christan when he said:

""But without faith it is impossible to please Him" Hebrews 11:6"

There's no other way."

Remember what is said of faith,
"But he who doubts is condemned if he eats because he does not eat from faith. "Whatever is not from faith is sin."

You can be doing a lot of things but if they are not from faith in Jesus Christ, they are sin. Which is really telling us that anyone without faith in Jesus Christ is condemned already because their sins have not be forgiven. Because,
"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus"

Well I do not believe single Bible verse says this. But Romans 1 & 2 speaks of doing the right thing in ignorance and being accepted by GOD. In the Old testament GOD showed grace to people who sinned and got many things wrong.
---Samuelbb7 on 5/28/13

Let's start with these:

Genesis 19:26 But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

Numbers 26:61 And Nadab and Abihu died, when they offered strange fire before the LORD.

2 Samuel 6:6 And when they came to Nachon's threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it, for the oxen shook it.
2 Samuel 6:7 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah, and God smote him there for his error, and there he died by the ark of God

So God is serious about his commands, we shoudl not act presumptiously even if God is moerciful
