doctrine in a teaching on a single subject ( precept)
there are many precepts ( subjects) within christian teachings

Hebrews 6:2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, the doctrine of laying on of hands, the doctrine of resurrection of the dead, the doctrine of eternal judgment.

The Bible defines doctrine as instruction, knowledge, or content of what is taught.
( Prov 4:1-2)
Christianity is not a tradition it is a doctrine. Christianity is not a feeling it is a doctrine. Doctrine is what is taught.Being entrusted with the dispensation of the Grace of God (Eph 3:1-2), Paul teaches us,
Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers. Titus 1:9

1. a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe, especially when considered as the creation of a superhuman agency or agencies, usually involving devotional and ritual observances, and often containing a moral code governing the conduct of human affairs.

Religion is an organized collection of beliefs, cultural systems, and world views that relate humanity to the supernatural, and to spirituality
That is what Christianity is

Christians are to follow sound doctrine which is the gospel of Jesus Christ. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the doctrine all genuine Christians should follow. Yet we are told that in the last days, many will depart from the doctrine as they are deceived by the false teachers. And we see that now in many places already occurring. These people departing are associated with those who truly believe the gospel but defect after hearing and believing the lies and deceptions revealing their true nature as unconverted (1 John 2:19: Jude 24).

In the first place doctrine will not save you. I want to make that clear
---Catherine on 6/27/13

How sure are you about that?

1 Timothy 4:13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

1 Timothy 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine, continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

On a foundation of sound doctrine Christianity is a life changing force based on truth. Paul calls it the power of God unto salvation (Rom 1:16). It is the preaching of Jesus Christ not motivational talk mixed with a few clean jokes.
Even more, it is not enough just to have doctrine, but we must have the sound doctrine that applies to us in this dispensation. The doctrine given to Noah to build an ark in Gen 6 would be unsound doctrine for us to follow today.

The good doctrine of the law in Proverbs 4:2 would also be unsound doctrine for us today in the dispensation of Grace, though it was good doctrine in the dispensation of the Law.

amen Catherine. I'm glad someone else believes like I do.

In the first place doctrine will not save you. I want to make that clear...Nothing but the Blood. True Christianity is when the true God comes and lives inside a believer. Only true religion there is, because it represents the one true God. Hallelujah.

Christianity is God doing all He does with us.

"for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure." (Philippians 2:13)

"Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world." (James 1:27)

Acts 2 v 38 Christianity, those are saved from their sins. Did not pick them up again.

Jus plain ole christianity, the trinity keep their sins, anything goes & they think they are ok. ' The wages of sin is death '.
---Lawrence on 6/24/13

Christianity has one doctrine. it includes many things.
---shira4368 on 6/23/13

Christianity is a religion, as pointed out by Luke in the book of Acts, it is the logical conclusion of Faith in God

Christianity contained many doctrines:
Hebrews 6:1 the doctrine of Christ, the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
---francis on 6/23/13

Christianity is not a tradition it is a doctrine. Christianity is not a feeling it is a doctrine. Doctrine is what is taught.

Nowadays what is taught is replaced by what we feel. Feeling God is thought to be better than knowing God. Everyone has a feeling and an interpretation and it changes twice a day and with the weather.

Christianity means Christine.just having fun with the blogger who said it means little Christ.even Christianity has different meanings and I am just having fun because it is so insignificant. Maybe some believe its their doctrine. Lol
---shira4368 on 6/23/13

The best way to explain this would be to explain the term "Christian." This term was coined, if you will, as an insult meaning "little Christ," but was borne with honor and joy as a badge over the hearts of all who were believers in Jesus as the Messiah. Being a Christian is not merely a doctrine, it is a badge over our hearts,

It is a reminder of how we are supposed to live, the kind of example to set, and that the One who saves us loves all.

Also, doctrines are based on ideas that allow for expansion and evolution, and as God's word may not be altered without severe eternal consequences, Christianity cannot be a doctrine.
---A_servant on 6/22/13

Absolutely not.

Christianity is the way of life. Love, as in the active verb form, is the ultimate commandment that will get a person into heaven. The two commandments Jesus spoke of hang upon this one word. The ten commandments hang upon this one word. All the other laws of Moses and the prophets hang upon this one word. Its how you ACTIVELY apply the word LOVE that is your ticket to heaven. The bible is full of examples.

If a panhandler asks for spare change, do you give him your spare change? A dollar or two? A five? A twenty? Do you give cheerfully?

many describe Christianity to have their own doctrine. that is why we have denominations. every denomination thinks their doctrine is the right one so how to we rightly divide the truth? by studying God's Word, we must look at the bible as a whole book. it fits together like a glove and nothing is contradictive..we are to try the the spirits and if it lines up with bible, that's my doctrine.
---shira4368 on 6/22/13

It might be better to say that Christianity HAS doctrines.

So do Judaism, mahometanism, and other religions.

Glory to Jesus Christ!
