Recent College Grad

I am a recent college grad and I feel like i am lacking in direction. I have been looking for a job in my field, but have yet to land one. I also feel like i am confused about some things I did not have time to look into earlier.

MANY,many educational opportunities are FREE. Look online for "FREE IT TRAINING". Some courses are at youtube because they are not ACTUAL advertisements, but because there is a need to promote some of the new technologies. There are free courses given online by many sources, even some by universities.

I have been reading various parts of Matthew. i recall reading about turning the other cheek, the one about "dont try to remove a speck from your friends eye because you have a log in your own" jesus eating with tax collectors and about cleaning the inside of a cup before the outside. i think that god wants to show others that i am not (or try not to be) jugemental in order to bring others to him. i still have other things to learn about...

"'Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.'" (Matthew 11:29)

There are people who pray for God's direction only when they have a problem. But we should always be submitting to our Father . . . doing only what He has us doing in His peace ruling in our hearts (Colossians 3:15).

We need how He brings us into this (2 Corinthians 3:5). And discover what He has us doing with Him, even at each moment. And, when something difficult comes along, just keep on doing what He has us doing.

Often, I find, He takes me into something, then reveals more details and insight, after I first went by faith.

He will satisfy You, while guiding you (c:

chria9835 on 7/5/13: I am also one of those people who have been in and out of jobs, but my message is that even when God does not just give me a nice job, He will give something

It may be anything that God may give, even something you do not want to take, but He will guide you.

With me, because I am never good at seeing what God wants, I am forced to see it by being denied everything else or by having something 'drop on me' or by being 'offered' in some amazing way

But God will do something

You can take a job then look for a position. It's a shame the job market is so bad. Chris, can I give you some advice? Study your bible and the more you study the more bold you will be. I have friends who are Christian and college graduates and they have told me all the secular things going on in colleges. God bless you, shira4368

Cluny:

There's no problem if atheists are hypocrites. After all, there's nothing in their belief system that forbids it.

But if Christians are hypocrites, it gives all Christians, and the Church, and ultimately God, a bad name.

\\I feel like one reason is because many Christians are judgmental and hypocritical.\\

As I frequently say, I know hypocrites who never darken the doorstep of a church. There are even atheists among them.

But that's the nice thing. No matter how full a church is of hypocrites, there is always room for one more.

Glory to Jesus Christ!

mostly older people attend my church. in general, I feel alone in my age group who are Christians. When I was in college, I did go to Christian groups. Most recently I was part of Episcopalian Ministry. I had fun and I have one close friend from that group. I feel like most young people my age have turned away from religion for different reasons. I feel like one reason is because many Christians are judgmental and hypocritical. Growing up i had a few friends my age at my church, but I feel like we have drifted apart. I have made several friends in college, but most of them are non Christians, or they believe in god, but don't go to church. I know god put these people in my life for a reason, but I have difficulty defending what I believe.

You're in the same boat with thousands of other recent graduates. Just be patient, especially with yourself...

You are in a spot a lot of grads are in, seeing this also, with my own daughter, a lot of college systems, just dont do what is needed to help open the right doors. Time will set you in place, Really, Prayer, as God will lead you and your faith will grow when you lean on Him in all your ways, this, myself, I have had to learn over many years.
Are you in a church that has any groups your age you may attend ? The Job market today is not so good, but, something will break for you, stay strong and in Prayer.
