markv, I have never never said God was not in control. He is in control but you don't get it that God made us the way we are. He gave us a choice and does not force Himself on anyone. when we become saved, we are God's child then he will punish His own just like a father would do.
---shira4368 on 10/27/13

Shira, the difference between us is that we teach about God's Sovereign right to rule in all things, they teach the right of sinful man over the rights of our omnipotent God. Big difference. You don't see it, because you don't like for God to have that right, but He says,
"He upholdeth all things by the word of His power" (Heb. 1:3). man does not.
"Remember the former things of old, For I am God, and there is no other. I am God, and there is none like Me. Declaring the end from the beginning, and from Ancient time things that are not yet done, Saying My counsel shall stand And I will do all My pleasure" (Isaiah 46" 9,10).
He declares the end of every human being. Sinful Man cannot change the end.
---Mark_V. on 10/27/13

markv, you do the same thing you are accusing nana and kathr of doing. you are the one that just don't get it. you and Christian are a two man army and you are heading to loose your battle.
---shira4368 on 10/26/13

Nana, Kathr and you teach the same false doctrines. Why ask her anything? Why ask you anything? All I get from both of you is the same. Speaking for the right's of man to choose Christ. Not the rights of God to choose sinners.
If fact, if your doctrine of free will was true, then you are saved because you were smarter then the others who had free will. Maybe saved because you were more holy, better looking, wiser, brilliant then others. You are saved because you created faith while others could not do what you could do. How great of you. So you say, you are saved because God found something good in you. Now that is salvation by your own works. It does not exist.
---Mark_V. on 10/26/13

Lets not get the word out of context trav. This is the time of Grace for the Gentiles. When that times is full then the restrainer will be remove Jesus said. Here is the script for you but u already new that right? 2 Thessalonians 2:6 Faith and believing what is the difference? You can't have one with out the other and you can't do one without the other. Seeing that is fun, understanding that is even greater.
---Bryan on 10/26/13

Those people are chosen, for that time but salvation is for "who so ever".
---Bryan on 10/23/13

Your opinion is meaningless without scriptural witnesses. Give the prophets verses that prove your opinion above.

Example:
Mat_15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Jer_50:6 My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.
---Trav on 10/25/13

"Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:"
The word is to all men of Judea and whosoever was dwelling at Jerusalem.

"Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart,...what shall we do?"
Who is THEY? Those being addressed of course, ALL!

"Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

It is hard for you to swallow 'every one of you', you misuse Romans 3:11 and where the saying comes from, that it is the fool who turned aside.

Read Psalm 14 and ask kathr4453 to teach you its meaning.
---Nana on 10/25/13

Nana, thanks for the passages. (Acts 2:21)
"And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved" And the opposite means,
"That whoever doesn't call on the name of the Lord will not be saved" because we are told about the lost, "there is none who seeks after God" (Rom. 3:11). those that call are quicken in the heart by the Holy Spirit. The same with
(Acts 2:38,39) in that passage those who heard the word of God "their hearts were quicken" and only the Spirit quickens the heart. The word pricked or cut to the heart is the word "Katanusso" which means to quicken, agitate violently the heart of a person.
---Mark_V. on 10/25/13

Acts 2:14 "But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:"
v21, "And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved."
v38,39 "Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."

"Save yourselves from this untoward generation."
---Nana on 10/24/13

Samuel, it's clear, those who have the wrong gospel cannot possibly be saved. If someone believes everyone will be saved, he has the wrong gospel. If someone believes he has saved himself because of his own free will, that is the wrong gospel. When God saves someone by Grace through faith, it is faith in the works of Christ on the cross. And because repentance and faith are granted by God, fallen man has no say at all. He is justified by faith alone through Christ alone. It is all the work of God.
When a person is saved by the Grace of God, he knows and understands that without God he would have remained the same, heading to hell.
---Mark_V. on 10/23/13

Keep this in mind A lot of things that Jesus said. Point to Israel or the Jews, Some of the things he is talking about are for the Jews people and some of things he said point to believers understanding the difference is a key thing. There is a number of Jews that will be saved. Those people are chosen, for that time but salvation is for "who so ever".
---Bryan on 10/23/13

Luke 13:4_5 "Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish."

According to that saying, only a simple thing decides life or death at the hand of the grantor?

Remind me of, "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2:38)
---Nana on 10/23/13

So, it's clear then that believers of freewill does not have eternal life
christan on 10/21/13

So humans are not saved by Grace through Faith but by having certain correct doctrines? So Christian millions of people who have accepted JESUS as their saviour and Lord are lost because they do not agree with you. You have judged them and found them wanting.

Jhn 12:47,48
And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

JESUS refused to do what you do christian.

"don't you understand God sent His on to die for the WHOLE word." shira4368

O, understand I do and that is Christ only died for those whom the Father gave to Him. He said so, "All that the Father giveth me shall come to me, and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father." John 6:37, 65

How about answering this question:
Did God give everyone to His Son?

If He did, how do you explain those who are going to hell? Obviously those going to hell is simply summed up as they're not given to the Son by the Father, according to Christ.

Who's lacking discernment?
---christan on 10/23/13

Shira, you said you would not respond anymore but you continue. And to you Satan is in control of all things on earth, you even gave an amen to Steven's response. We know who is Lord to you of this world. And it is not Almighty God. You should stop responding, every time you think you are scoring points, you are getting deeper into sin with your answers.

Christian, I am not afraid of anything. why in the world would you say that? man can destroy the body but he can't touch my soul.
---shira4368 on 10/22/13

shira4368, if MarkV and I are seriously "ponding a false Gospel" and you're truly a "Christian" as you claim to be, you should have nothing to fear, right? After all, the Spirit of God is in you or is it?

Christ declared, "For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders, insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect." Matthew 24:24 - you see, it's impossible the elect of God can be fooled, according to Christ.

Oh, but then again I forgot you don't believe in election and predestination. Guess it doesn't apply to you then. Sorry.
---christan on 10/22/13

Christian, I do wish you would quit trying to pond a false gospel off in christianet. there are new Christians and I bet they are very confused. you have joined with markv in your ranting and raving. you take scripture out of context in everything you have posted. why dont' you and markv go start a church of the false prophets.
---shira4368 on 10/22/13

Let's see what Scripture define salvation as, "As thou hast given Him power over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given Him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." John 17:2,3

Did the sinner receive eternal life because they chose Christ? Definitely not according to John 17:1-26 or the whole Bible. Not a word from Christ that the sinner has to choose to earn eternal is even breathed, let alone you have a freewill.

So, it's clear then that believers of freewill does not have eternal life - and that's according to Christ, not MarkV, The Seg or christan.

Having faith or belief is pointless, unless it is believing in the right thing. The right thing is always what God provides as the object of faith. (Ref Rom 4:5)
The faith of religious persons is in vain if they believe that ungodly men can't be justified before God.
God can justify all who place their faith in the blood of Christ as payment for sins.
Faith in the Death and Resurrection (Rom 4:24-25)
Many people of faith claim their faith is found in every day miracles.

Faith comes from hearing the word of God (Rom 10:17). When the Bible says to have faith, ask, faith in what?
Not all had faith in the same thing. Faith in a covenant, the law, the kingdom, or the name of the Son isn't the content of the gospel today.

The "lost" mentioned in Luke 19:10 points to the sheep and not the goats. Here's the confirmation, "Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost." Luke 15:6

Notice Jesus did not say "I have found my goat which was lost".

For only the sheep will inherit the kingdom of God which was prepared by the Father for them and never the goats.

"And He shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world" Matthew 25:33,34

"MarkV: "But the lost never make a choice for Christ." and then you say:
"Then Christ came on a fool's errand, since He said:

Luk 19:10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost."
That is why I said man never make a choice for Christ, because It was Jesus who comes to seek and to save. why? because (Rom. 3:11) tells us:
"there is none who understands, there is none who seeks after God"
Jesus did not come to see if any would seek Him, He knew there is none who seeks after God.

Faith and believing what is the difference?

Bryan: One's "faith" (trust in God) fuels (is the catalyst to) one's "belief" (confidence) in God. As Scripture says, "Faith comes by hearing & hearing by the word of God." (Ro. 10:17) If one is willing to turn aside from the cares & emptiness of the world, & listen (pay full attention) as God speaks to one's heart thru His inspired word (the Bible), the Lord will reveal (prove, SHOW) Himself to the true believer.
---Leon on 10/19/13

Shira, I hear you. You say,
" markv, the whole purpose of being a witness is to bring the lost to Christ." The purpose of witnessing is that we do not know who the elect are. They are born lost just like everyone else. Those chosen from the foundation of the world to be holy.
(Rom. 10:14) says,
"How shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed/" Paul point is clear, presentation of the message must precede true saving faith. True faith always has content, the revealed Word of God. Salvation comes to those who hear and believe the facts of the gospel. Only them. Then say,
" so is preaching in a church." Church members should be believers already who are learning.
---Mark_V. on 10/19/13

Faith in Jesus is trusting he is the Word of God made flesh and he was given to ALL human kind to use as they will and they do. Some will believe him for salvation and some will use him for their on destruction. Be it assured it is the Word that will bring both on Who so ever. Mark Chapter 4 is very clear on how you will use the word of God in all areas of your on life. This is the first recorded parable Jesus taught about the New Covenant. Samuel, everyone makes choices in life, and we are held responsible for our actions. But the lost never make a choice for Christ.
"There is none who understands, there is none who seek after God" Rom. 3:11.
Second the passage you are talking about (John 12:32, where it says,
"I will draw all men" does not mean every single person for many reasons. 1. By the time He died on the cross millions had already died in their sins. 2. He couldn't have drawn all men because He had already said before in John 6:44 "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him,"
---Mark_V. on 10/18/13

Bryan, faith refers to Trust in the gospel of Christ. Many believed in God already. When Paul was hunting Christians he thought he was doing it for God but he was not converted until Christ appeared to him.
Cornelius the Centurion had the fear of God and was a believer in God, yet the angel appeared to him, to sent for Peter. When Peter came he spoke the gospel to him, and Cornelius had faith in the gospel of Jesus and was baptized.
That is why we are told that believing in God saves no one, for even the devil believes yet was never saved.
Since the creation of the world God's invisible attributes are clearly seen, been understood by the things that are made. Although they knew God they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful.

When JESUS comes again the doors to heaven will be closed for all those who have refused to acknowledge them.

Dear Mark V. Thank you.

Our difference is that I believe GOD calls all men. He knows which ones will say yes and which will say no. But he makes us responsible for our actions by drawing through the HOLY SPIRIT all men to JESUS when He was lifted up on the cross. Power to do right comes from being Born Again which only comes through the HOLY SPIRIT by Grace.

Some atheistic scientist do teach we are preprogramed robots by our enviorment. That mankind has no choice in anything. I believe GOD gave us choice and holds us responisble for them.

Samuel, your response has truth. The others don't even know the definition of free will, and they say they have it. Not only that but that God gave free will to all man.
Everyone has a motive or a reason for making a choice. The will of man is never free. They insist it is. They must pick ice cream spontaneously. They must close their eyes and say, "I will take this one." without looking. I ask myself, how far will sinful man go to have their rights over God's rights? They go very far. Give man the power. In fact their whole lives revolve around what they can get from God. It is always, give me, I say so, I have the power, you have to do what I say. I want money, I want a new car. Give me a job. give me a husband. Give me, give me.

Religion does not teach us to look down on others that is pride. Christian religion is to be based on and about JESUS. Many turn it to be about money and power.

Love is the basis of true religion. Spirituality is to be based on love.

Faith is used in two ways in the Bible. One as believing in GOD. The other is the Faith of JESUS Rev. Which points to what we believe in and who we are looking to.

Here is the scripture that tales u how 2 stand and why u need 2 stand on the word of God Ephesians 6:10 all the way to the end of verse 20. Oh it was written by Paul. Funny Paul Did not say in verse and scripture. Just a letter explaining how to stand on the word for VICTORY in your life.
---Bryan on 10/8/13

BTW, Bryan, nowhere does the Bible use the phrase "stand on the Word."

Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

substance > "setting under", "support"

evidence > "proof", "conviction"

If you are "one spirit with Him" (1 Corinthians 6:17), your union with God is your "support" of your hope to spend eternity with Him.

And actual union with God in His love is proof, evidence that God exists and how He is in His love "in our hearts" (Romans 5:5).

And this union works through His love > "faith working through love" (in Galatians 5:6).

\\ You don't stand on hope. You stand on the word by faith.
---Bryan on 10/8/13\\

And what does the Word say about hope?

Romans 5:5
And hope maketh not ashamed,

Romans 8:24
For we are saved by hope...

Galatians 5:5
For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith

Colossians 1:5
For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven,

Colossians 1:27
... Christ in you, the hope of glory:

Hebrews 6:19
Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul,

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for.

I could go on, but you get the idea.

Again Bryan!
All I can say is it really does depend on what you are hoping for.
In him that came to save the world.

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three, but the greatest of these is charity!

Hope does not create, hope does not give substance to what you are believing for. Hoping for something is not faith at all. It's hoping for some thing. You don't stand on hope. You stand on the word by faith.
---Bryan on 10/8/13

Believing is when you can't see it and you can only hope it will appear!
Faith is the absolute assurance that you are saved!
Is this pretty much what you're saying?

Rom_4:18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.

Rom_8:24 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

All I can say here is, it really does depend on what is your hope.
In him that came to save the world!
Peace

Bryan, what's the point in your asking a question and then answering it yourself?

Both r together like a coin 2 sides, r a magnet positive and negative, With out 1 the other is useless, What is the difference between the 2? Believing is when u can't see it u have to believe it will appear. Like Salvation u have to believe u are saved. U want know that fact until your in Heaven. Here is the other side of the coin. Faith gives u the assurances of your salvation, Faith adds the substances to what u believe to be true. That is what u stand on the word of God with cause without faith it is impossible to please God. Your faith in your salvation is what gives u the drives to say, yes I any saved when all hell is breaking out against u. Cause if u don't have Faith in your salvation u would say " I don't know if I'm saved.

Rom_4:3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

Heb_11:17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son,

Act_13:39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Heb_11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

I give! What is the difference?

None in Greek. It's the same word for both.

Same in Latin.

Same in most languages.

Why should there be a difference in English?
