My Pastor committed suicide by hanging himself. He had some type of rebellion inside of him. Do you think he made it into heaven?

My father-in-law committed suicide when my ex and I were young, married parents. My ex was very deeply wounded because of it. His Dad suffered from clinical depression, and had been hospitalized three years earlier, because of a previous attempt.

One of my pastor's in lost his 18 year old son to suicide. There are no words you can say to the family members.

It's very important to pray for the family.

It's not our place to judge. Scripture says that believers are sealed, and our names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life. Suicide does not break the seal, or erase our names. Romans 8:38-39.

I found a secular article enumerating six reasons people attempt suicide:
They're depressed.
They're psychotic
They're impulsive
They're crying out for help
They have a philosophical desire to die
They've made a mistake

There are 221 occurences of the word "mind" in the KJV.
"Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind."
Some do not have a sound mind or full use of the average man's mental capacity.
I feel sorry for them and their act but to the question, the sending to heaven or hell speculation is not for us.
---Nana on 2/20/14

First off let me say that suicide is the most selfish act a person can perform.

Now, Christ said this:
Matt12:31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.
*Suicide is not blasphemy against the Holy Ghost. If Christ died for one that commits suicide his sin is paid for.

I would also like to say this, instead of commiting suicide a person should stand still and see the salvation of the Lord. Our God is mighty to save! By the way, the word salvation means deliverance. God saves us eternally and timely!

"How does one find out what the ministries rules and standards are? And, does everyone answering know them?"
---Bob_M on 2/18/14

Ya like you care.

Now here is someone who claims they came on CN "a few days ago."

Now he doesn't know the rules and standards or how to find them.

This is another attempt to cast doubt on the fidelity of CN.

Everyone who has came on CN signed the Terms of Use statement. Rules and instructions are also posted at every blog reply station.

Really now Mark who ya trying to fool?

These things as "lidia, the real truth can never be suppressed, burned, or chained.", "my answers", "Hope I answered correctly.",
shows a bipolar trait. Actually, Satan acts bipolar in pretending to be light while being darkness!

2 Corinthians 11:13_15 "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel, for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works."

Josef, peace and grace be with you in the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you so much for your kind answer. I thought Christians were all followers of Christ and since the website is a Christian website, I decided to put down a few passages from the Bible. The Bible passages should not offend any Christian since they interpret themselves with other passages.
I saw many answers on the many different areas on the essentials of the Christian faith, the reason I answered.
So my question to you is:
How does one find out what the ministries rules and standards are? And, does everyone answering know them?
---Bob_M on 2/18/14

Folks don't fall for the lie.

"I came on line a few days ago and have read so many questions and answers, that I found that some are not here anymore because of how they answered."
Bob M

There is no way a new comer could tell if someone was dismissed or not. Unless they were the one dismissed.

That is the case here. Bob M is none other than MarkV with his alter ego lovewins. It used to be christian.

Don't be fooled with the same old Calvinist TULIP falseness from this guy under another name.
---Elder on 2/18/14

"some are not here anymore because of how they answered."
Bob_M

MarkV (Bob) your post is not true. I suggest you be honest and post the truth.

The account you speak of was not dismissed because they "answered wrong."

It was, as you know, dismissed because of spreading lies, hate, discord and false doctrine.

Next, this is NOT an open forum. You pay nothing to be here. This is a Christian ministry with Christian standards of the ones that pay ALL the cost.

You are not required to be here. While you are you will abide by the Ministry rules and guidelines.

If that disturbs you then leave happy. You have already offended me because what you posted is not true about ChristiaNet.

Lidia4796: May the good Lord provide all the necessary help and support that you will need without you struggling for it in Jesus' name. Amen. The world system do not offer us peace but this is what the Lord Jesus has guaranteed that we will always have, so shall it be for you.

Hello,Let me give you the utmost respect Bro.Josef! & Thankyou very much Bro.Josef, I agree whole heartedly. I have been here a while and I realize probably not everyone may agree or have their misgivings about me. I learn you have to be " thick skinned" people are human & one we are not perfect. I appreciate the moderators also the CNT community.

May the Lord continue to bless us each and everyone.

Let's not forget CNT is the only free one that doesn't charge for it's services nor

The prayerRoom, there are others charge a fee & do not publish your prayers! Love of Jesus!
---Lidia4796 on 2/17/14

"It is an open forum where believing Christians can express their views without bias right?" It should be. However I have found, like most here, that it is not, and that is ashame, but then the moderators like most people, have their biases. They are in control of what is posted and what is not, we as posters simply have to recognize that and make our own choice as to whether or not we will continue to participate. Hopefully you will, your imput is appreciated. If our goal is to help our brothers and sisters come to a better understanding of scripture, then our efforts will not be in vain. Please do not be afraid of expressing yourself, your views are as valid as anyones.

Lidia, I am so sorry to hear how bad things are for you both financially and healthwise. We, in the U.K. are so fortunate to have our free health service. We complain, bitterly, about it because it is nowhere near as good as it once was but it is far superior to what is available to many other people on this earth.

You are in my prayers each day. We are told to make our needs known to God (and we must make them to known to each other also because prayer works). Sometimes we just don't know what it is we should be praying for.
---Rita_H on 2/16/14

Rita, I came on line a few days ago and have read so many questions and answers, that I found that some are not here anymore because of how they answered. I'm afraid answering wrong. It is an open forum where believing Christians can express their views without bias right? I though it was a wonderful place to express each others views and could help each other as we are commanded. I will try to answer correctly and not offend anyone.
---Bob_M on 2/16/14

Lidia: Thank you so much. You have given me encouragement beyond what you can imagine. I keep wondering if I should remove myself from this website (because of the DIScouragement flying around here. Whenever you respond to my comments you give me a reason to stay after all. Thank you so much. I wish I knew how to correspond with you in a more private manner than here - where many seem to only be looking for reasons to disagree with each other.
---Rita_H on 2/15/14

In answer to the question, Rita has a very good answer that should be taken to heart. I'm glad we can express our opinions because the question is a very hard question to answer to. And Rita is right in that we are glad that God is the one to deal with his status and not us.
---Bob_M on 2/15/14

To Sis.Rita, want to give you with all respect sincere words of thanks fromthr very bottom of my heart. God gave you - gift !
you are a wise woman.

it really the best thing anyone can say! I commend you for the holy ghost boldness.. I believe it was very good what you said

that the Pastor ' family are going through so,much who can know the heart break sorrrow they may carry?

We can not know the heaviness from such a tradgedy as suicide..
I tell you one time I was in such pain it is inexplicable! the devil told me " kill yourself!" I got to crying out Jesus help me - rebuke the devourer.. pain can be horrible..
God is available. I never want to judge anyone...just pray.
Love of Jesus!
---Lidia4796 on 2/14/14

Well, I think that if your truly a Christian, you wouldn't commit suicide..Why? God wants you to spend your days glorifying him and using every opprutunity you have to point things to God. Killing yourself would ruin hundreds of chances to convert others.

I so agree with Rita! The one thing I gave thanks for when my oldest brother was murdered was that it wasn't suicide that took him. I cannot begin to comprehend what the family is going through, God minister to them.
---Mary on 2/2/14

Dana, pray for your pastor's family who are grieving in a way which most people don't have to grieve. To have a family member take their own life must be one of the hardest things for anyone to cope with - mentally or emotionally.

Nothing will bring him back, no-one here knows WHY it happened but GOD DOES and God is the one who will deal with it.

Ask that the family might, eventually, have peace in their hearts and then leave it with HIM.
---Rita_H on 2/2/14

Sis. Darline, with respect, you said,
"The Bible tells us you shall not kill, some sources say it means murder but whichever one the Pastor still went against God's Word."
All of us, as believers, goes against God will at some point or another. Paul was a good example of that. Sin within him was giving him the problems he had. The flesh is a big problem. He who is without sin, can throw the first stone. I know I am not. And what sin stops a person from going to heaven if it is not the sin of unbelief. Paul loved the Lord with all his heart yet he sinned. I don't give the tickets to heaven, but by the Word of God if someone is saved, he can never lose his salvation by his actions. If they did, no one would get to heaven.
---Mark_V. on 2/1/14

What about a rebel inside man, who after a drinking binge runs over an inocent with his car and kill him. Will he be going to hell? I for one would not venture to say as I have not been given the task of collecting admission tickets at heavens gate. Imagine if that Pastor would have loved dana6596 as he loved himself ( love thy neighbour as thyself), we would
have had a murder suicide and this blog would have never been started!

The Bible tells us you shall not kill, some sources say it means murder but whichever one the Pastor still went against God's Word. Since the Bible says if we break one command or offend in one area we are guilty of all therefore although I wouldn't judge, but according to the Word his chances of making heaven don't look very good. Also if he did have rebellion in him,the Bible says rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft. Its written in the Bible no witches are going to heaven.

"A person is not saved by his own actions. Everyone is saved by grace through faith. And all human beings fail."
---Mark_V. on 1/30/14 Amen. My sentiments exactly.
---Joseph on 1/31/14

Committing suicide is an act of many reasons, chiefly being - disgraced, shame, depressed, pride, etc - descriptions that are normally not associated with the Spirit of God. For the Christian, all these have been crucified in Christ, so there's no reason whatsoever for a Christian to take his own life in the act of suicide.

Paul explicitly taught, "No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man, but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it." 1 Corinthians 10:13
---christan on 1/31/14

Dana, we never know what a believer is going through. Some times their problems are so big in their own mind. Losing a Church is a big blow to many. They believe they have failed God in some way. Some times its something we will never know ourselves. It would be great if they could talk to us and tell us. Still, I believe that if a person is truly saved, he can never lose his salvation. Never, but many here do believe in a believer losing salvation, but Jesus tells us He will never leave us or forsake us. We need to believe that by faith.

Acts 2:38_41 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.

Those who did not 'save' themselves from this generation, will they be saved in the one to come?
Romans 1:32
---Nana on 1/30/14

That's what I think, if he was truly saved, born again, etc. then maybe his mind just snapped that morning and he killed himself.

I also like what the others have said. I know all he wanted was to be used by God, to be a Pastor again since 1986 when God closed his church down, he just wasn't the same. He was always wanting to be used mightily by God and felt he wasn't, but he left footprints in my heart with his teachings that he will never know about and I wish I could have told him that. I truly loved this man and have the deepest respect for him. I'm just so shocked at this news. I'm still here on earth so I still feel the pain of this. Thank you Jesus for loving this man and for taking Him unto yourself to be your child.
---dana6596 on 1/30/14

If God had already saved him, he made it to heaven. A person is not saved by his own actions. Everyone is saved by grace through faith. And all human beings fail. There is not one person who is saved that doesn't fail or sin.
---Mark_V. on 1/30/14

I will actually agree with 1stCliff on this matter.

Neither you nor I know what led him to do this. For all either of us know, it was a murder designed to look like suicide. Only God Himself can sort this out with both justice and mercy.

If this was a result of clinical depression, know that CD is a PHYSICAL disease. Many Christians (including clergy) have been put into bondage by the myth "Real Christians don't get depressed! They have Jesus!"

They thus are too frightened to get the medical help they need that will lighten, or even remove, their burden.

Glory to Jesus Christ!

Dana, Unless we are selected to be a King or Priest to rule with Christ ,we will never have to make a judgement of this sort!
---1st_cliff on 1/29/14

I can definitely state he is not in Heaven but no one else is either as the general resurrection and Judgment have not happed either. And for that matter you are never going to Heaven You will be a permanent resident of the New Jerusalem on the New Earth and that is not necessarily where YHWH hangs out for eternity.
