Dear Mark E,
Your answer to Steven is very true. He spends his time bringing everyone down, believers who belong to many denominations. While it is true many denominations teach wrong, many teach right. Steven could not possibly have gone to every one of them, for him to say they are all created by Satan. There is many genuine believers in many denominations, and he cuts all of them down with his comments. Very seldom does he say anything positive about believers. He believes only his church at his house is the only one true church. But as we know only God can change a heart. What he says does not surprise me, many who are lost say the same things about Christians everyday. They even make movies to cut down Christianity. Agape

That will never happen until Christ returns.

We will not have our salvation until Jesus returns but we still hope for it, don't we?

How about hoping for the BOC to be unified (and praying so) instead of lamenting about its fragmentation? How about being a positive force in the BOC instead of a negative draw?

I have no rose colored glasses on and I know what you say regarding denominations may be true, but remember that it is the BOC you are talking about. Your brothers and sisters. We are to exhort one another in love, stirring each other unto good works. Your negative comments do not lift me up.

A quote from long ago states:
In necessities, unity
In non-necessities, liberty
In all, charity
This is where we are of "one mind."
Most denominations are a split because of non-essentials, and have the liberty to do so.
Where there is a division in essentials, a heresy has crept in, for only one can be true.
Most of us here agree on what some call the essentials of our faith,
The Apostle's Creed spelling it out quite well.
Our Unity is in Christ, not in which building we gather.
1Co 1:12-13 Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul, and I of Apollos, and I of Cephas, and I of Christ. Is Christ divided?...

Mark_Eaton : "Seems to me, as I read this verse, that we all (including you) have a long way to go before we are "all with one accord"

That will never happen until Christ returns. It seems that every week denominational churches are dividing themselves more and more over doctrines - even within a denomination.

Family, I can truly say this church I am attending, pretty much every nickle, dime, dollar, goes to the poor.
They feed the homeless, anyone,6 days week, they buy mom diapers, clothes, give bus ticket 4 times, a month, they were help people even catch up on bills, rent( but you know there's abusers)
I sat there he said" they are having to cut bk, someone went way beyound reasonable"
Seek to Scam this pastor who helping our neighborhood.
Satan has his own, every congregation reap havoc.
This church really does care about this neighborhood.
I have never asked for help but I give instead. I thank God for this pastor and the whole team.
Love of Jesus!

The meaning of church is completely different today than it was in Jesus' time. The church back then ARE the christians.

Seems to me, as I read this verse, that we all (including you) have a long way to go before we are "all with one accord".

Act 2:1 "And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place"

Part of the reason why the BOC is so fragmented is that we will NOT agree with each other. We must lay down our pride and take up the mantle of love, Gods love.

The meaning of the church has not changed. Our mission is to love God, love others, and to show the love of God to the world. The method of doing that is all that has changed.

All denominations are about money.

The meaning of church is completely different today than it was in Jesus' time. The church back then ARE the christians. They didn't need buildings and possessions to bring people to Christ.

Today's church is a building, having material possessions pleasing to the worldly eye, groom landscaping, and wages to fill the pockets of the workers and contractors. Close to 90% of the revenues go to the upkeep of these worldly assets. For instance, the catholic church owns over three trillion dollars of church property, rental property, assets to fill these properties (research done in 2002).

Will any denominational church sell all its possessions to feed the poor?

2 peter 2:3 In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.

And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.(kjv)

1 st. Peter 5 v 2.
Since they are realistic religious fanatics for doctrines & commandments of men tongue wagglers telling the peoples Lies for the #s & $s.
For trinity, TBN peoples, they Are blind to the Facts that TBN realistically stands for, Transgressing Biblical Necessities. And that's exactly what they Are doing.

Just like churches need a certain amount of money to remain in existence in their present form, so do T.V. channel Christians. However, I'd say that some of these "T.V. Christians" have a VERY UNHEALTHY interest in money. When you watch cash being flashed around openly for all to see and the preacher and family living like royalty whilst their congregations remain poor, 'something' is not right - to put it mildly.

This is my personal opinion.
---Rita_H on 7/7/14

Sounds like you're asking for opinions instead of facts Diane. Well, you've come to the right place because there are multitudes of people here more than willing to tell you what they think. But, in the end you'll still be wondering because the tongue waggers really don't know. Sadly, they just blindly make it up as they go!
