Your time to go is predetermined before birth so there's nothing you can do to prevent your time coming. But those people who choose to swim in the ocean which I did a couple of times know the risk.

No-one has to risk their life putting someone back on a horse.---Rita_H on 7/10/15
If they were made to pay for the COST and Paid the dead person's family 5 years of salary plus funeral expense, trust me they will think TWICE before going the first time.
All climbers should be force to sign a risk cause form before climbing stating they will pay.
I bet anything they won't go up the mountain.
---Nicole_Lacey on 7/10/15|
Nicole, I agree with you totally. Such actions might seem brave to some people but it is also an insult to those whose lives were lost when they did it the first time.
They will argue that it is just like getting back on a horse from which you've been thrown or fallen but, of course, it is not. No-one has to risk their life putting someone back on a horse.

I get upset when Rescuer DIED trying to save the climbers.
Then I get very mad when the idiots go back to the very same place where Rescuers died saving them claiming:
'I needed to prove to myself I wasn't going to let my fear get the best of me. So, I returned to complete my mission'
---Nicole_Lacey on 7/9/15|
Richa, neither. The Sharks have actually declined over the years, however, more people are swimming in remote areas.
Just like..the more people who choose to climb Mt Everest will increase the chances of more people dying.

What gets my attention is that at least one attack is said to have been in waist-deep water. And people still go out swimming, after this is known. ---Bill on 7/6/15
Either it is foolish or they are testing God.
---Nicole_Lacey on 7/9/15|
Well, I never thought it might be what God is using to get someone's attention. And if it is meant to punish someone, I think it would "help" that the person knows this, which I doubt would be the case for a lot of people who don't believe in God.
But it is good to go only where God guides us to go. However, He does lead people through the valley of the shadow of death and does not have us fearing any evil.
What gets my attention is that at least one attack is said to have been in waist-deep water. And people still go out swimming, after this is known.

Steveng "What would be the behavior of the sea animals after nothing to eat from the lower part of the food chain?" I never noticed that the bible said that the 'third of the sea animals' would comprise only of the lower part of the food chain. Have you actually read that or are you assuming that?
---Rita_H on 7/6/15|
God has on occasion punished people singularly, or collectively, for disobeying Him. Yet, most deaths and injuries are a result of living in a fallen World, rather than being a form of execution. Avoid swimming near fishing peers though. Genesis 2:17, 3:6 (Romans 5:12), Deuteronomy chapters 27-28, 2Kings 1:9-12, Luke 13:1-5, Acts 5:1-10, 12:21-23, 1Corinthians 11:29-30.

Steveng, I'm told on these blogs by an expert that I am a predestined reprobate. There's no hope for me and I'll burn forever. So please allow me a little humor in this life before I go to the next one.

learner2, christianity is serious and one should not poke fun at it even if you are kidding. There are a few verses in the bible about such matters.
As for shark attacks, it is written that all of nature will rise against man in the end days - the weather and the animals. It is written that one third of the sea animals will die. What would be the behavior of the sea animals after nothing to eat from the lower part of the food chain?
---Steveng on 7/5/15|
Leon, I actually thought that Learner 2 was being sarcastic.
When we put ourselves at risk we should not complain if the worst happens. I would no more go to swim where there are sharks than I would walk into the lions' enclosure at a zoo.
---Rita_H on 7/3/15|
No God isn't trying to get someones attention. There are Shark attacks because foolish people swim and play in a sharks natural abode. God Bless
---Darlene_1 on 7/3/15|
That's quite an over-reaching, unfounded, presumption L2. Weather professionals attribute it to the temperature of the waters in the area that contribute to many natural (not supernatural) factors.
---Leon on 7/3/15|
No doubt God sends sharks to North Carolina to maim the children of evil parents.
