Holy Spirit Speaks To Heart

When the Holy Spirit speaks to my heart, does He always tell me something that is already in Scripture, or does He sometimes speak to me of something specifically for only my own heart?

The Holy Spirit is there a guide in everything in life. How are decisions that we make. So yes it would be by scripture But he's your guide in Life 2

faithforfaith, do you think that just because I'm Orthodox, I don't know what the Bible says?

\\Okay Cluny, (you're so quick/anxious to refute me),

It was a Cannanite woman...\\

Wrong again. "Your faith has saved you," which is what you said earlier, was STILL said to the Hemorhissa.

Here is what was said to the Canaanite woman.

Matt 15:28 "Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour."

You're quite easy to refute when you misquote the Bible.

Okay Cluny, (you're so quick/anxious to refute me),

It was a Cannanite woman...

Mat 15:26
And he answered, "It is not fair to take the children's bread and throw it to the dogs."

"When the Holy Spirit speaks to my heart, does He always tell me something that is already in Scripture, or does He sometimes speak to me of something specifically for only my own heart?" Both. He will expound upon the scripture in a way that is identifiable to you as an individual, and relevant and relative to your personal growth in Him.

\\ He said "Woman, your FAITH has saved you" \\

faithforfaith, Jesus NEVER said this to the Samaritan Woman.

He said this to the Hemorissa (woman with the issue of blood).

Glory to Jesus Christ!
---Cluny on 11/14/15

When Jesus spoke to the Samaritan woman, He did not say that she should let His blood save her. He said "Woman, your FAITH has saved you" (the word "FAITH" refers to a person's LIFESTYLE DEMEANOR/character (attitude/spirit).

The divine spirit speaks to YOUR spirit.....because you are who you are (no hypocrisy or phoniness).

The Holy Spirit guides us through our daily lives and, because He knows us personally, what He says is meant for us personally and will not necessarily apply to anyone else, howevever, it will always be consistent with scripture even if the actual words are not found in scripture. Anything else would be rather suspect.
---andreea on 10/31/15

The Holy Spirit gives us scripture and how it applies for us personally . . . including how we need correction (Hebrews 11:4-11), and how to relate with each person.

Also, He works in us all He means by whatsoever He may say >

"for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure." (Philippians 2:13)

God's chief priority is that we become conformed to the image of Jesus > Colossians 1:28-29. And "To this end I also labor, striving according to His working which works in me mightily." So, if we follow Paul's example (1 Corinthians 11:1), we live according to how the Holy Spirit in us works us to live, all the time > Colossians 3:15 < how He personally rules each of us in God's peace.

He speaks Scriptural truths as applies to matters of your heart. If it's not from Scripture, it isn't from God!
---Leon on 10/29/15

It is always both. The Bible is a lot of principles. what usually happens I get a verse stuck in my head (theory) from HS, then what HS does is connect it to something in my life (application). Then you go confirm that personal inkling with a close friend. Then act accordingly. The HS is larger and wider than the Bible but never goes against the Bible. For example, we can have different music styles but it is always the same message.

First off, you've not established if it's really the Holy Spirit speaking to your heart, or your own mind coming up with stuff.

Do you have a good prayer partner or spiritual director, Geraldine?

Glory to Jesus Christ!
