Does Jesus Recognize Church
Christiandom has slowly destroyed itself over the past few centuries - more so within the past sixty years. Christians have been dumbed down not only within our schools (both public and private), but within denominational churches. Would Jesus recognize the church today upon his return? What caused it?

There will be many in the last days who think they are Christians. But Matthew 25 gives examples of those who think they are followers of GOD. But instead only fool themselves.

Yes Jesus will recognize His Church. But according to Luke 18:8, it won't be that big. For Christ shall return looking for faith.

Writing clearly means thinking clearly. If you write non-words, it means you have non-thoughts.
But I see you missed--or ignored--my main point: if Jesus would recognize the worldly denominational "church" of Steveng.
Glory to Jesus Christ!

You say toh-may-toh and say toh-mah-toh. Always attacking semantics when you knew what a person was writing about. You would have a field day when trying to correct Moses, eh?

Jesus always knows his body
The Bible says that he purchased YOU with a price, and that YOU are the temple of the Holy Ghost (1 Cor 6:19-20). Therefore, the church of God today is found in YOU. Wherever you are, the church is. That is why we are to glorify God in our body because God dwells in us, and so within us there is a church service happening 24 hours a day! (Col 1:25, 1 Cor 3:16, Eph 3:17)

Would Jesus recognize the church today upon his return?
Jesus will always recognize His own. The question I have is the one asked in scripture, "when the Son of man comes, shall He find faith on the earth?"

The RCC is growing.
1.3 Billion. It has NEVER decreased.
NEVER as Jesus promised.
Have courage and keep the Faith.
People love to say that Muslims past Christians 3 years ago.
But they don't tell you how they came up with that math
They had to put both Sects of Muslims to past the Catholic Church only.
19.3% Muslims to 19.1% Catholics
Which is wrong. Muslims have 2 major sects Sunnis and Shiites.
So they need to compare one or the other to Catholics.
Not both to one sect of Christianity.
If we compare all Sects of Christianity together to all the Sects of Muslims the numbers are 34% to 19%.
Making Christianity the Fastest growing religion in the World.

Trey said, "Monk, may I just say that your answer is very pharisaical and un-Christlike.
Honestly, I am amazed that Christ does not consume the whole of mankind with fire seeing how wicked we are as sinners. I am truly amazed at his grace and longsuffering!..."
Amen! I am unworthy, and I do need God's grace and mercy! However, what am I saying that Steven G. or Faith for faith has not said? All I did was ask them the same question that many have asked me.
Pray for me,
the unworthy monk Brendan

Monk, may I just say that your answer is very pharisaical and un-Christlike.
Honestly, I am amazed that Christ does not consume the whole of mankind with fire seeing how wicked we are as sinners. I am truly amazed at his grace and longsuffering! I also breath a sigh of relief and rejoice within when I read:
Malachi 3:6 For I am the LORD, I change not, therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed. (KJV)

Steven, you ask if Jesus will recognize His Church? I believe that is a very dumb question.
Don't you understand that His Church is made up of all believers? They are the body of Christ. Not a building or house or cave. Those are places where both believers and unbelievers meet. True believers are everywhere around the earth.
What you are looking for is to condemn the denominations. Those are denominations where both believers and unbelievers meet. They also meet at homes, in caves, at the park are at your house.

Isaiah 55:11 says God's word will do all that God pleases, which I understand means all that God Himself understands His word to mean. So, I understand that always God's word has been succeeding with His obedient people . . . while publicly and historically known church culture people have not necessarily been obeying. And, "of course", ones public could have used their power to keep the real ones from being publicized.
The gentle and humble ones could have been busy with personal ministering, perhaps too busy to be making sure they got public attention. So, yes, the faithful, the obedient (Colossians 3:15, Matthew 5:46, 1 Timothy 3:1-10) have always been approved and recognized by our Groom Jesus.

He will recognize his "sheep". Christ did not fail then or since. Israel are known as sheep. Christian Israel are found as sheep.
Realize, Sheep will be Sheep.
Sheep do not make attack dogs. Attack dogs run in big packs an eat sheep. Wide is the way of the attack dogs.
Jer_50:6 My people hath been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray, they have turned them away on the mountains: they have gone from mountain to hill, they have forgotten their restingplace.
Mat_10:6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
Mat_15:24 I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Steven, or Faith for faith, would Jesus recognize YOUR worldly denominational man made church.
Pray for me,

Steven, no matter the conditions in the world, God has kept a remnant all through the ages. The remnant is His Church. He knows how many will be call and when they will be call. No one who is to come to Christ will miss his turn. God makes no mistakes. He knows how many they are, who they are, from where they are coming from, and when they will come to Christ. God is not guessing and hoping you will choose Him, and doesn't care where you meet, at some home or at some building. If His is going to call you, you can be sure you will hear Him, He will give you ears to hear. God knows all things. He is Sovereign.

No, Jesus will not ACCEPT the earthly "church" (church of MAN).
Rev 19:13 He is clad in a robe dipped in blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God.
The book we read is MAN'S collection of 66 "SCRIPTURE" books
..."All SCRIPTURE"/Holy writings is inspired by God"...there may be HUNDREDS of holy writings/scriptures.
Scripture is the "word of truth" and the WORD OF GOD hung on the cross in bodily form after it became flesh.
The Romans knew God (they had scriptures), but God did not ACCEPT their honorings or their thanks (Romans 1:21).
verse is from the RSV.

Jesus knows his body "the church"
Col 1:18 And he [Christ Jesus] is the head of the body, the church
The church is the body of Christ as Paul says:
Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Christ knows those who are His, John 10:14-16.
Those belong to Christ know and hears His voice, John 10:26-27.
Unfortunately, there are people who are caught up in, and follow the religions, traditions, and doctrines of men, 2 Timothy 4:2-3.
It would be great if those people who proclaim to be Christian were one in Christ, and Christ Alone!

Yes because Jesus died for the church. He died for the church knowing the good, the bad, and the ugly. Jesus knew we would have the crusades, the inquisitions, the political and power hungry popes of the middle ages, the false teachers of the prosperity gospel, protestant reformation, orthodox vs catholic, charismatic vs theological, fundamentalist vs liberal. For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever [had perfect theology and no sin] would have everlasting life. (Sarcasm)
No, the only requirement is belief = seek, desire.
