Prayer For Monk Basil

Please pray for Monk Basil--my monastic superior. He has developed IBS, which keeps him in a state of stimulating uncertainty.

Monk Basil is in my prayers.

David said, "Learn the meaning of this verse...(James 5:16)

This is not something I care to argue, it's what I give you to help your friend."

I know that Scripture quite well.

I thank God for Basil. I am fervently praying for him, plus running to him with toilet paper, helping him get to Church on time, things like that. I have also laid hands on him.

I believe that I am righteous. Not self-righteous, but saved by the Grace of Jesus Christ. I am just asking other Christians to pray for him too.

Many prayers always.

There are new medications and treatments for IBS. I pray one of these medications or treatments can help him.

Keeping hydrated is very hard.

In my first post on this blog, I said, "Monk Brendan is sick, and he needs prayer."

I just noticed the error. I meant to say Monk Basil needs prayer.

Sorry for thee confusion.

"This was the first thing that was done, almost six months ago."
I am happy to hear that Monk Brendan, now "this is the confidence that we, [as believers] have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he hears us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him." Answered prayer is not always immediate, however the answer is never late, trust Him. For " The earnest prayer of a righteous man is powerfully effective."

Monk Brendan I was in leadership positions for women and I found more anointing from God when I fasted before the meetings, just one meal even, and then prayed for people. Perhaps all of y'all could do that and be in a prayerful attitude before you pray. Before our Prayer Meetings we had Praise and Worship,I was the Leader of songs there and it was good to keep worshiping until the glory of God/anointing became strong and then we prayed for the people. God inhabits the Praise of His people and we were created for Fellowship with God when we worship and praise we are in fellowship with Him and He is pleased when we show our love for Him for He always shows His for us. Has your friend checked to see if he is Lactose intolerant same symptoms.

Josef said, "However, since you and your fellow Monks are there with him, have you not considered the laying on of hands in combination with prayer?"

This was the first thing that was done, almost six months ago.

Monk Brendan I prayed for your friend and what he has won't kill him even though it hurts like it would. I know from experience of 40 years that it also won't affect the rest of his body badly. What was going on in my life was frankly more important to me than informing you I prayed for him. My daughter was in the hospital first ,they thought it was a heart attack,it wasn't thank God. Then my husband was in the hospital a week paralyzed on the left side and blind in that eye. Then to a city an hour away In the hospital rehab for two weeks. While he was still there my Mama died. So you see my mind wasn't on an answer to you. I'm sorry if you were offended. Thank God my husband is getting better every day and isn't paralyzed or blind now.

Monk Brendan just because there has been no comment placed here, doesn't mean that your request for Monk Basil has not been honored. However, since you and your fellow Monks are there with him, have you not considered the laying on of hands in combination with prayer? For as it is written, if there "Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:" For "they, [believers], shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover." Jas 5:14>Mar 16:18

Hebrews 10:24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one anotherand all the more as you see the Day approaching.

I placed this prayer request up here, because Basil is suffering, and the community wants him to get better.

I put this prayer request up here on 2/15, and it wasn't until 2/25 that there was ONE answer to my request. I personally think that stinks!

How are we, as Christians, going to get our stuff together if we can't even pray for someone.

Monk Brendan is sick, and he needs prayer.

So sorry I didn't get back sooner I know what he is going through.I have prayed for him. There is an over the counter medicine called Imodium and I have had success taking that but he should check with his doctor about taking it because it might go against something else he is taking. Pray for my daughter too she has the same problem but hers began with the removal of the Gall Bladder. I hope and pray your friend can find help.
